[RP] Final Fantasy IX: Scars of Terra

Annelise Steiner

"Don't be your own worst enemy. If anything, there's only one person in this entire world who's expectations you have to live up to: your own. You are no more Beatrix or Adelbert than Robert is me or Fratley. You need to carve out your own future, whatever that mat be. If you do what you feel in your heart is the right thing to do and you can look back and have no regrets, then it doesn't matter what other people expect of you. Believe in yourself and in your friends. Just like I tell all of my subordinates, no one fights alone."

Anne looked back at Freya, then put her hand on her heart as she continued.

"Believe me, I know what failure feels like. I was unable to save Burmecia, Cleyra or Puck's father, and when I finally found Fratley, I discovered that he had suffered amnesia so severe that he couldn't even remember his own name, much less me. But despite all of that, I still had friends. Zidane and Vivi were there when I needed them the most. Quina was, well, Quina and too concerned about eating. They gave me new strength. That's why friends are so important. If anyone says you're inferior, chances are it's because they're afraid you'll surpass them and they want to demoralize you. Never let yourself believe it. Never fall into that trap."

To be honest, hearing that from a close friend like her was a bit uplifting. Although she overheard herself to be the top of her class, she was always looked down upon by many of her comrades. Being the sole daughter of Adelbert and Beatrix Steiner would do that to you. But for someone to actually try to invoke confidence in her felt...good.

Anne smiled back at Freya, a bit more confident than when she first talked. "Thank you, Lady Freya."

A Moogle, flying in the direction of Cleyra came touching down by the Burmecian Gates, walking up towards the two women. "Greetings, kupo! Is one of you by any chance, Annelise, kupo?"

"That would be me yes." Annelise said, fluffing the moogle's pom-pom.

"Please don't do that, kupo!" The moogle said, shaking his head. "Anyway, I have a message for you from Lan, kupo." He handed a peace of parchment paper, which the Alexandrian knight took and began to read.

New Six General Leading airship assault.

Name is Pirate. Current abilities unknown.

Suspected plan of attack is through air strike.

Current objective for attack is unknown. Will find out more.

Lan Ester

This new Lord-General meant that Anne and her comrades would have met at least 4 of the 6 by now. This new one, the Pirate...she would have to be careful, considering the track record of how skilled they are.

"Thank you, I'll be sure to respond to Lan after the battle."

The moogle nodded then walked off to the local vendor to see if they had kupo nuts.

Anne turned towards Freya and said, "I forgot to mention, Lan, one of the Genomes who took part in the rescue mission in Cleyra is currently acting as a spy and has attached himself to the Oeilvert Army."

The Twinsword

Theme-Memories of What Once Was

"And why are you here? Planning to give me similar treatment to what she gave out?"

"Maybe."
The Twinsword said, smiling as she slowly walked up towards Ricard. "But first I wanna know something."

Her smile turned to that of dissapointment and shame. As she sat down on his bed, Twinsword said, "When we fought...back in Cleyra...you shielded yourself to protect me. Your enemy, you could've left me to die, so...why?"

Freya Crescent

Freya blinked a bit before shaking her head at the report. "I hope your friend knows enough to pull out once their attack starts. You and I know he's undercover, but the dragon riders won't be able to tell who he is, and the wall mounted spell cannons don't discriminate. Not to mention any military worth their salt knows their own troops." Freya spoke, addressing her concern for Annelise's companion.

"As for their objective, it's safe to presume it is the same objective as Cleyra. They're after the mirror we hold so they can open the passage from Gaia to Terra. However, my husband and I know all of the secret passages as well as the one leading to the mirror we hold and has already stationed troops and activated the traps. So even if their assault is only to cover a small scale infiltration, whoever they send is going to be in for a very dangerous and deadly surprise." Freya spoke as she looked out at the horizon towards the Cleyra settlement.

Leaning his back against the wall, Ricard looked up at Twin Sword, seeing her looking sad he pulled himself to his feet and walked over to her, sitting beside her on the bed. Gently he lifted her chin up to look at him "Isn't it obvious why?"

Ricard smiled lightly as he put an arm around her "we're friends aren't we? Besides, I couldn't let a cute girl like you die now, could I?" The last part of his comment being a joke, naturally. Lightly pushing on her shoulder he lifted himself up to his feet, now the majority of the ice was gone he could feel his strength returning. "So what else did you want to do with me while you have me here?"

"That's what I've told him myself, but he is willing to try." Anne said, although she was still worried for Lan, after listening to Freya and comrades, she'll just have to trust Lan and hope for the best.

As Ricard stood up, his strength starting to return, "Sometimes I just don't understand you." Twinsword said, standing up herself and holding onto Ricard's shoulder.

"So what else did you want to do with me while you have me here?"

The Lord-General said nothing, instead looking into the Pluto Knight's Light Green eyes. Slowly moving forward, The Twinsword moved in and began kissing the man, closing her eyes as she did the deed.

The Pirate

Theme-Invasion of Burmecia

It was slowly becoming daybreak as the Pirate laid sprawling out on the deck of the White Glint. His white tail being on the side.

"Oh come on, I just mopped the floor."
An Oeilvert Private walked up to the general and kicked him a bit with his feet.

"Aww...five more minutes." The Pirate said, shifting

"Lord-General, we're ready to begin the operation."

The Pirate sat up, moving some of his white locks out of his eyes before holding his head. "All right, All right, tell em to take off, and drop the tanks in front of their gates."

The eccentric Lord-General quickly got to his feet, and checked his equipment for his infiltration tactic. He had his guns and sword on standby, not to mention 2 smoke Grenades and 2 Grenades for clearing out enemies in corners. The White Glint's propellers began spinning to life, and so were it's escorts as their steam engines started spinning, beginning to roar into life. The White Glint, Oeilvert's flagship and Second-Largest Ship-of-the Line, started to lift off the ground alongside it's 4 Escort Ships, the Primitive Light, the Noblesse Oblige, the Prometheus and the Procyon following suit. All of them were now headed east, towards Burmecia, and further glory.

The 5 ship flew overhead Oeilvert's forward camp, the signal that the battle was about to begin, and the Pirate was certain that victory, no matter how hard it is, will be theirs.

Of the 5 airships, Prometheus and Procyon were equipped with long-range Guns, and began opening up bombardments from afar whilst Noblesse Oblige and Primitive Light began dropping Steam-powered Combat Tanks which began rolling in towards the Burmecian gates.

One Burmecian scout who noticed the cannon fire and the rolling of steel wheels shouted to the forces on the gates, "The enemy has arrived, all hands prepare for battle!"

Aaron:Hello Vivius,My name's Aaron I am to be part of your Defense force..

Vivius:I see well, that's fine we need as much help as possible.Once the battle begins we will need to focus on our spell casting and we wont be able to defend ourselves so any help in our defense will be very helpful..

It was morning when Lan saw the airships take off.

"Looks like the battle starts. I have to find out what they are up to before they come back. Otherwise, it will be near impossible to find anything out." Lan whispered as he made his way toward the inner camp where the Six generals should be and the central command station.

Along the way, Lan spotted an armory tent. Quickly going into the armory tent, Lan managed to secure for himself a pair of Cat Claws as he hooked them on the side. Leaving the tent, he snuck closer into the central command station as the armor will allow as he strained his ears for any sound that could either give him clues to the enemies true objective or enemies to quickly dispatch.

--------------
Remilia Oveilia

Many people can say good things about Remilia. Kind, gentle, potential housewife material. Right now, annoyed would fit her more. The red haired summoner marched out of a tent that she said with a fellow female soldier.

"Come on now. I wanna go travel. It's not like the army will miss one person." Remilia muttered as she marched over to the armory with her Tiger Staff in tow. As she walked towards the armory, she saw a soldier sneaking towards the central camp. Curiosity took over as she sneaked up behind the soldier and tapped him on the shoulders.

-------
Lan and Remilia

Lan swore his heart just stopped as he felt someone tap his shoulder. Slowly turning around, Lan saw a red haired girl smiling at him.

"Are you lost? It helps if someone were to guide you." Remilia said cherfully.

"Y...Yeah. I'd like that. I need to find the Six generals tents." Lan muttered.

"Really? You kinda look like a spy." Remilia replied.

Lan's reaction was to grab the girl, cover her mouth and rush away from the tent and into a nearby empty tent. Once there, Lan sighed as he looked at the girl.

"So you are a spy. Can you help me?" Remilia asked.

"Give me one reason I should not just strike you down now?" Lan hissed.

"Because I want out of the army."

Theme - Burmecia at War

A soldier came over to Freya, holding a spyglass in his hand. "They're making their approach. All five ships are incoming, and they have deployed some sort of armored land vehicles." The soldier spoke. Freya took the spyglass from the soldier and gazed through it. After a brief moment, she turned to the soldier. "Give the command to the dragon riders. Fly high above the mist and split off into two groups. The first group will attack the balloons of the airships to bring them down. The second group is to flank their ground forces from the rear and sweep forward, then go assist in attacking the airships if they haven't been taken care of. Once they finish their run, all units are to fall back to Burmecia immediately. I don't want any unnecessary losses." Freya spoke before handing the spyglass back to the foot soldier.

As the foot soldier went about his duty, Freya shouted to the wall defenses. "Man the Cannons! Fire Blizzagas at the approaching ground troops! Once they at 800 yards, change to Meteors to crush their transports!" Freya commanded.

************

Upon hearing the news, Fratley sounded the horn a second time. As he did, the two airships Phoenix and Bahamut left the docks, heading towards the North and South gates to escape the upcoming battle. Soon after, a wave of 1000 mounted silver dragons flew high upwards into the sky and above the mists. There they would divide into two groups of 500, one to the far left of the airships' path and one to the far right. As soon as they came close to where the airships were, the group of 500 would further divide into 5 groups of 100 and each group would swoop down to engage the airships. Their breath attacks would focus on the airship balloons and propulsion systems while a few from each group would engage the ship decks with their attacks to try and prevent the enemy from being able to fight back.

The other group, once they were far enough that they believed they were at the enemy's rear, would swoop down and lay down a continuous stream of different elemental breath attacks, namely fire, ice, thunder, wind and poison in a fanned out wave formation, 5 rows of 100, to cover the most ground while keeping themselves about 30 feet above ground. They would fly forward towards the front of the advancing army before the survivors of the assault would then go skyward, attacking the airships from below if they were still afloat.

Once the dragons were out of the way of the ground forces, the Black Mages on the walls manned their mist cannons and channeled Blizzaga spells into them. The cannons launched the spells 1000 yards forward. Upon hitting the ground, they would turn the approach lands into a sheet of solid, slick ice which would kill the tanks' traction or at the very least, slow them down. Some of the ice spells would create small mountains of ice ten feet tall with jagged, jutting spikes. Once the enemy was within range of the cannons, they would begin sending meteor spells to rain down upon the metal tanks in order to try and crush them.

************

Robert looked through a spyglass to watch the ongoing battle. In particular, he was keeping an eye out for whether or not the enemy was going to summon an Eidolon. His father left him in charge of giving the order to Vivius to summon their Eidolon. If the enemy could not or did not summon by the time they were in range of the cannons, he would launch the summon pre-emptively as a last measure to prevent the walls from being breached.

"Hey, what's up? Why are you lo-"

Before Ricard had a chance to finish his sentence, Twin Sword was kissing him, something he wasn't expecting her to do. Regardless though, he felt strange somehow but couldn't place what it was or even why he felt it. Placing his hands on her shoulders he gave her a confused look "What's the matter? This is certainly... Strange for you"

Moving back onto the bed he laid down on it "even though i'm the weak one here, I think you need the rest more than I do" before he could say any more though, Ricard heard a loud bang in the distance "What was that!?" Ricard sat bolt upright as he heard the sound of approaching cannonfire. As they began to near the Inn Ricard impulsively leapt off the bed and grabbed Twin Sword by the arm, dragging her onto the bed and covering her with his body as a cannonball smashed through the middle of the room.

"Are you... Okay?" Ricard started to move off her as Twin Sword grabbed his arm, looking into his eyes "Please... Can we stay like this? Just for a little while?"

To this, Ricard sighed internally "This is hardly a time to rest, we're being attacked, maybe when this is all over we can talk" waiting for Twin Sword to let go, Ricard limped over to the tear through his room to look outside, from overhead there were battleships making their way to the castle. In his weakened state he was probably going to be a burden, but he couldn't just stand around and do nothing.

"I don't expect you to be happy with what i'm going to do, much less forgive me for it, but right now I can't be confined to a bed" turning to look at Twin Sword one last time he had a look for a way down from here.

Lan Ester and Remilia Oveilia

"You want out."

"Yup."

"And you are asking a spy for a way out."

"Yup."

Lan sighed as he looked at the strange Oeilvert women. Someone who wanted out of the war was not uncommon, but in the situation that he was in, that was uncommon.

"If we were to get out now, can you even defend yourself?" Lan asked looking at the girl.

Remilia was slightly offended by the question.

"I can. I am in the army after all. I just want to get out of the army to explore the world and with you, I can. Not that you aren't that bad looking yourself." Remilia smiled as she flipped the helmet upwards and off of Lan's head.

Lan sighed as he retrieved the helmet. Faintly, Lan can hear the fighting starting.

"Ok, I don't have much time. Find a way off of the tree and we'll escape after I finish something." Lan muttered.

"Leave the exit to me." Remilia smiled as she walked over to the edge of the tent and started looking.

"What's your name?" Lan asked.

"Remilia Oveilia. What about you?" Remilia asked.

"Lan Ester." Lan replied as he put his helmet back on and exited the tent. Remilia headed toward the edge of the tree and started looking while Lan quietly sneaked into the central command post. Entering the post, Lan saw a table with plenty of maps and papers that looked important.

"How am I supposed to find what they are after through all this?" Lan whispered as he walked toward the table.

The Pirate-

The attack of the Silver Dragons on the five airships was starting to affect the morale of the Oeilvert Air Forces, and would've turned them away before reaching the city had it not been for the indomitable spirit of the Oeilvert Musketeer Battalions. Using their Flintlock Rifles and firing in a Rank by File Formation, the Musketeers tore into the Flying Dragon Knights with zeal, picking them apart as they got in close to harass them, a few of them also managed to pick them off as they went for the emergency balloons and propellers, however one Airship, the Prometheus, was not so lucky, as both forms of propulsion were destroyed and the airship quickly began it's descent. The captain of the Prometheus, in a desperate and almost suicidal act, began gliding the ship as much as possible so it can at least reach as close to the Burmecian city itself.

The Tanks on the ground were starting to lose traction in the snow and mud of Burmecia. The tanks, not used to adverse-weather conditions bogged down to the point where only the gunners remained to use the vehicles as artillery platforms, firing 6-lb iron balls at the Burmecian walls. Those not in the position to man the guns left via an escape hatch at the back of the tank. They themselves were actually simple swordsmen, equipped with a short sword and shield. It was these troopers, although roughly in the hundreds, that began rushing towards the gates, and into Burmecia proper.

Annelise Steiner

As Anne looked on alongside Freya, she saw a stray cannonball headed their way. Acting as quickly as possible, Anne jumped towards Freya attempting to push her out the way as she shouted "Look Out!"

The cannonball struck the area where they stood, and if both women managed to survive unscathed, they would know that taking out the tanks would be imperative if they are to defend the walls from enemy attack.
----
The Twinsword

"This is hardly a time to rest, we're being attacked, maybe when this is all over we can talk"

"But Ricard, you're injured. You don't want to burden your friends do you?"
The Twinsword protested as he slowly stood up, he was definitely not at a hundred percent, and going out now would be tatamount to suicide, especially if it's the Pirate and his airships.

"I don't expect you to be happy with what i'm going to do, much less forgive me for it, but right now I can't be confined to a bed"

"No, I'm not happy. But I'm not going to let you go out there alone like that."
As Ricard looked back at Twinsword before looking to find a way out, she said, "I'll come with you, you need someone to watch your back before you do something reckless." The Twinsword said as she stood up and walked close to Ricard. She was currently unarmed, but she still had to defend him, even if it meant going up against the nation she herself was fighting alongside with.

"I'll come with you, you need someone to watch your back before you do something reckless."

Sighing lightly Ricard held her hand "This makes me wonder who will defend who... Fine, but if you get hurt then promise me you'll go back. I don't want you to be hurt when I can't protect you" grabbing her waist with his arm he pulled Twin Sword to his chest "hold on tight, i'll try to make this landing as soft as possible..." leaping down from the second floor of the Inn his legs buckled upon landing, forcing him to his hands and knees.

Trying to pull himself back up, using his sheath as support he moved over to Twin Sword and offered his hand "I'm sorry about this, but it's something that has to be done"

---------------------------------------------

After leaving the room and leaving Twin Sword to Ricard, Lucia had been spying on everything going on, upon seeing Twin Sword kiss Ricard she giggled to herself before leaving "I think I know who to talk to about this" sneaking off she started approaching the stairs to leave when an explosion shook the entire Inn and breaking the glass of the windows, forcing Lucia through one and onto the stone floor outside. "Okay, whoever did that... Is going to die"

Pulling herself up she briefly massaged her back she spotted Annelise and a woman she assumed was Freya by the gates. Walking over to them she approached Annelise first "Okay, whoever's sending those explosions out, where is he? I want him dead"

Sir Fratley

Freya was taken with Annelise out of harm's way. Without hesitation, she began to shout orders. "Cast Meteor on the transports! Side cannons, fire Thundagas at the airships when they come in range!" Freya called out as she got herself to her feet as she aided Annelise to stand up.

Fratley looked over to Robert with a sharp turn of his head. "Robert, give the signal and ready the castle defenses. I'm counting on you." Fratley spoke.

"Dad! What are you...?" Robert tried to argue, but his father had lept off towards Freya's location. Still, he wasn't going to waste time trying to chase after him. "Vivius! Summon Phoenix!" Robert called down to the decendant of Vivi.

Fratley landed beside Freya with his lance in hand. "Good you're alright. Now then, how about we give these hooligans a proper Burmecian welcome?" Fratley spoke to her with an almost coy tone of voice. Freya chuckled and gave a nod. "Indeed. It wouldn't be a proper greeting without us at the forefront. Annelise, I'm counting on you. Command the cannons as you see fit. And remember, believe in yourself and your friends. Fratley, let's do this together." Freya spoke before the two Dragon Knight jumped down to meet the oncoming foot soldiers while the Dragon knights and rangers began picking off troops that were coming into the gate or already inside.

Fratley and Freya stood shoulder to shoulder as both raised one hand up and towards the incoming attackers. Suddenly, two overlapping seals emerged, and energy began flowing into them. With a shout, the pair unleashed their most devastating attack. "DRAGON SEAL!" Fratley and Freya shouted in unison, invoking the power of all of the dragons the pair had each slain over their lifetimes.

At that moment a massive draconic energy dragon formed by the pair's intertwined attack launched forward at the approaching troops. Those who were unable to escape the attack would most likely not live to tell the tale as the energy dragon ripped forward, covering a good thirty feet width-wise and screeched forward for a mile before dissipating.

Back at the square, The black mages who weren't spell-slinging at the foot soldiers or manning the spell cannons and raining Meteors on the stopped tanks were channeling energy into the Phoenix Pinion Vivius held. Soon, the Pinion burst upwards into flames, letting loose a massive restorative burst of a 1 mile radius. Any fallen Dragon Riders, Burmecian soldiers and silver dragons within that radius would feel themselves strong enough to get back to their feet and continue the fight. The fiery Eidolon bird would then launch itself at the airships, protecting itself with a flaming barrier so hot it would melt any bullet that struck the fire shield. It's aim was to blast through the remaining airships and engage whatever airships survived.

Burmecia-Town Center Battle

The Battle had commenced and everything was going fast,Aaron get's up and Rushes back to the Mage's who were preparing a spell while the other's either cast magic to keep enemies away or channel energy into Vivius.

Aaron:Sorry about that,I was a bit Dazed...

Vivius:Silence I need total Concentration on this Summon!!

Aaron:Right..

Keeping Silent he just move's forward and begin's Defending the black mages as long as possible,it seem's some Oeilvert Soldier's managed to bust through the gate and seeing the group of black mage's they rushed..

Aaron: Damn..Quite a few got through, must be a strong force if we're already having trouble so soon...

Aaron swing's his sword outward's hitting a few Oeilvert Soldier's knocking them to the side K-Oed,as more Approach he think's of using some of his Sword Skill's but figure's this will be a long battle and with little support in Close Range he should reserve his stamina.

The Black Mage's still channel spell's into Vivius and Vivius seem's to Glow with a Orange Light,Aaron Charges to the small mob coming closer,The first 2 come at him on both side's as they rush Forward Aaron Backsteps and spin's with his sword the two Soldiers hit each other's blade's and look only to be disarmed and injured by the spin attack,The last three are gunner's one draw's a Sword while the other two support him with Gunfire with their Flintlock's,Aaron manages to block the sword but gets hit twice with the iron ball's one in his right leg and one in his left arm,Aaron kick's the Sword Wielder knocking him down long enough to stab him into the chest,Once Done he run's toward's the gunner's before they can reload their weapon's he cut's their barrel's off and they drop them and Run..

Aaron: Damn..that really hurt,I didn't expect weapon's like that...

Aaron take's a small knife from his side and extract's the 2 Iron Ball's from his right leg and left arm.

((OOC:Hope that's ok =o))

Lan Ester and Remilia Oveilia

Getting to work quickly, Lan found a bag in the tent and stuffed it until it was full. Once finished, the genome boy put on one claw on his right hand. Just then, a group of soldiers entered the tent.

"What? What are you doing soldier!?" the leader of the group demanded.

"Shoot!" Lan exclaimed as he put the bag on his back and cut through the tent wall and ran. The soldiers ran after him. Lan ran from the central command until he saw Remilia.

"Remilia, did you find a way out?" Lan asked loudly.

"Woah? What's with the soldiers?" Remilia asked.

"I've been spotted. Do something!" Lan yelled.

"Ok. Come, being of heaven. Lift your heads and beg for redemption. Go Ultima!" Remilia exclaimed as glyphs appeared behind her. The glyph shattered as a large angel int he shape of a lady jumped out of the glyph and blasted the soldiers that was chasing Lan with holy.

Lan turned to see the angel.

"You are an summoner?" Lan asked as Ultima floated over to Remilia and picked Remilia up and put her on her shoulders.

"Yup. Isn't she cute?" Remilia asked with a smile.

"I guess. Let's get out of here." Lan said as he tossed the bag of paper to Remilia

"Get to
Burmecia Remilia and make sure a person named Annelise gets the papers. Tell her that Lan the Monk has sent you." Lan said.

"Ok Lan. See ya later Beloved. Ultima, can you get to that city please?" Remilia asked.

Ultima turned toward the Burmecia and then started floating towards the city as Lan ran off into a random empty tent.

"Let's hope Remilia don't get shot down." Lan muttered.

Alleria was all calm and peaceful in her dreamland. Her crush holds a flower up to her and kneels to the ground. Blushing softly, Alleria turns away. It all felt like a dream - which it is - and it also felt like it was about to get better... Until something jolted her awake.

Deeply annoyed, she jumped off the bed. Rubbing her eyes, she was startled at the shattered glass. That, and the cannon ball on the floor, smoke emanating from it. Gathering her wits about her, she grabbed her weapon with her and dashed out of her room. First, she stopped by Ricard's room, arriving just in time to see him leave with Twinsword.

Realizing she probably would not be able to go the same way as they did, she then went for Annelise's room. As expected, she wasn't there - Alleria just felt like checking.

More cannon balls land around the city, sending it's citizens scurrying back into the safety of their homes. Alleria didn't waste any time letting her instincts guide her to the gates. Arriving just as the questionable female that was previously seen with Annelise did, she quickly stood at attention in front of Freya and Annelise.

"Apologies for being late! Alleria Stormseeker under your command!"

[OOC: And apologies for the late post]

The Pirate

"Son of a bitch!!!!" The Pirate shouted as the Pheonix shot itself at the airships, the intense heat of it's run left a hole in the White Glint's wooden hull. It left a similar hole in Noblesse Oblige, and ran right into Primitive Light. Because the summon caught it head on, the airship spontaneously exploded when it hit the multiple gunpowder rooms, killing everyone on board.

Nonetheless, the White Glint remained undaunted, and while the Procyon continued it's fire on the castle, it tried and managed to keep their heads down.

Finally the White Glint reached within range of Burmecia Castle, and the Pirate and several Oeilvert soldiers, both sword-wielding Warriors and rifle-toting Musketeers. The White Glint managed to get at least 60% of its soldier capacity into the castle before cannon fire forced the ship to retreat from Burmecia. The soldiers were now alone in the castle.

"Find the Elemental Mirrors and bring em to me. Take whatever isn't nailed to the ground if you want it, then take the nailed stuff too!!!" The Pirate said, chuckling at that last bit too.

Meanwhile, the survivors of the Prometheus began evacuating the wrecked ship that crashed in the city center. Surrounded by Dragon Knights, the Musketeers that weren't cut down while escaping formed two circles and began firing at any Dragon Knights who dared to get close, using their bayonets if they had to.

Annelise Steiner

"Good you're alright. Now then, how about we give these hooligans a proper Burmecian welcome?"

Anne turned around to see Lord Fratley with Freya responding to both her husband and herself "Indeed. It wouldn't be a proper greeting without us at the forefront. Annelise, I'm counting on you. Command the cannons as you see fit. And remember, believe in yourself and your friends. Fratley, let's do this together."

After Freya and Fratley went off into the field to deal with any surviving Oeilvert soldiers on the land, Anne gave the orders, "All cannons, concentrate Thundaga spells on the damaged airship, bring it down!"

The cannons turned their attention towards the Noblesse, firing Thundaga charged shot against it's hull. However, it seemed that the ship, unlike the Prometheus and Primitive Light, which was brought down by a combination of mounted Dragon Knights & Cannonfire and the Pheonix respectively, the Noblesse Oblige proved tougher than it looked.

"Okay, whoever's sending those explosions out, where is he? I want him dead"

"Apologies for being late! Alleria Stormseeker under your command!"

Anne turned around to find both Alleria and the flirty genome standing behind her. Both of them were obviously annoyed, probably from trying to get some sleep earlier. With the cannons focused on the Noblesse, Annelise can now turn her attention to the defense of the castle. "We need to go and back up Robert at the castle. We cannot let them take those mirrors!"

As Anne was about to run for towards the castle, she turned towards them and said, "Where's Ricard and the Twinsword?"
----

The Twinsword

"This makes me wonder who will defend who... Fine, but if you get hurt then promise me you'll go back. I don't want you to be hurt when I can't protect you"

Although Twinsword did not want to be a burden to Ricard, she didn't want Ricard to be a burden to his friends either, even if it meant betraying her country, it did not matter, protecting Ricard was more important.

Ricard grabbed on to her waist, sayng, "hold on tight, I'll try to make this landing as soft as possible..."

The two of them made the jump and landed on the ground, with Ricard buckling under the weight and both of them on the ground. As he slowly stood up, using his sheath as a stand, he limped over to Twinsword and extended his hand. "I'm sorry about this, but it's something that has to be done"

Taking his hand, Twinsword responded, "Well, I hope this something doesn't lead to the death of you." The former Lord-General, now back on her feet, said, "We need to make our way to the castle." She looked up at the airship that was offloading troops at the castle before withdrawing due to battle damage. "That was the White Glint...The Pirate's in the castle, we don't have much time!"

Grabbing Twin Sword's arm, Ricard began to limp as fast as he could up the stairs. The sounds of battle from outside beginning to echo against the walls of the stairway leading upwards. Upon reaching the top he was quickly detected by a group of 3 Oeilvert soldiers.

Pushing Twin Sword back Ricard unsheathed his katana as he tried to hold it steady as the soldiers began to circle him. Looking back to Twin Sword he called out to her "if anything happens... Run"

As one of the soldiers tried to cut him with their sword, Ricard instinctively blocked and countered a slash through their torso before turning his attention to the remaining two.

Robert Crescent
Freya Crescent
Sir Fratley

Robert ran into the castle as soon as he saw people start entering it from above. Running down the hallways, the young knight bolted until he came across a large group of soldiers. As their leader gave orders, Robert tapped into the draconic magics and swung his lance arcing horizontally, releasing a wave of energy shards in the form of Cherry Blossom, the same attack he used on the mage knight.

"Think you weren't expected?" Robert shouted as he poised himself for combat. Rogues that were hiding behind the statues came out and began assaulting the raiding forces. "The mirrors are beyond your reach, long since gone and I won't allow the wasteland of Terra to threaten the lives of everyone on Gaia! Your time here is wasted, as are the lives of your men." Robert shouted as he charged forward. He'd wait for the Pirate to draw his gun before jumping upwards and trying for an aerial strike with his lance. Of course he was bluffing about the mirrors as one mirror lay at the end of a multi-chambered passageway that was laden with death traps and troops, and the other was hidden on his father's body.

Meanwhile outside the battlements, the Dragon Knights began launching ranged attacks of their own with Cherry Blossom, aided further by the archers who laid down poison-laced arrows at the muskets, while a few other Dragon Knights used Reis' Wind for healing support. With the outside Oeilvert forces either decimated or fleeing, Fratley and Freya began to head off to the castle to support their son and protect King Puck. Those forces still within the city would be dealt with by the positioned rogues and archers.

Lan Ester

Lan walked out of the tent he hid in and started walking towards the tree's edge. Lan sighed as he watched the battle from as far as his eye can see.

"What's going on over there? I hope Annelise got the message on the air strike." Lan muttered as he walked away from the tree's edge.
---------------
Remilia Oveilia

After a few minutes of floating along the skyline, Remilia soon heard the sound of battle as Ultima floated into the battlefield. She could hear the cries of, "Enemy Eidolon spoted." She also heard cheers as bolts of spells started firing towards her.

"Ultima, holy please. But don't hurt the people in the city." Remilia said as she put a tighter grip on the bag of stolen battle plans and such that Lan has given her. Ultima unleashed the energies of holy to the bolts of spell aimed at her. Careful eyes would take note that although Ultima is attacking, no bolts was actually aimed at the walls once the bolts of magic ceased for a few seconds. Soon enough, Remilia, upon Ultima's shoulders, floated just above the castle walls.

"Hello down there. Is one of you Annelise?" Remilia asked as more energies of holy circled Ultima and her summoner, acting like a shied.

“The loss of innocence in a land of perpetual struggle. Its experience can be the greatest source of strength or the crippling blow that consumes a lesser man.”

The Ninja focused his eyes on Noah to get a better read on the boy.

Mutatsu has an athletic build that complimented his profession beautifully. It appears that age has, instead of slowing him down, rocketed him into his prime. One had to look no further than his piercing, emerald eyes to see the hardships that he had endured. Though not without sympathy for Noah, he knew he needed to grow beyond this ordeal, and fast; lest the boy become consumed by this surge of emotion.

Walking toward Noah, the Ninja's tan shinobi shōzoku flowed gracefully in the wind, with a strand of black hair beaming across his face and a ponytail trailing not too far behind.

Before speaking he took a moment to analyze the young man. A once beautiful gold-embroidered vest was now stained with dried blood, the consequence of being in the Cleyran heat. His face was consumed by blood as well. The one thing that showed freely through his eyes, was shock. Hazel eyes that were full of determination were now left in astonishment. However, his senses had not been dulled fully. Snapping out of a small stupor, Noah's noticed Mutatsu in his peripheral view and immediately locked his sights on him.

Noticing two katana's, neatly placed on the right and left of the Ninja's obi; he quickly drew his longsword. Running on fumes, Noah knew that he couldn't win this battle, but he would be damned if he were to die here.

Mutatsu sighed at the display, holding up his open-palmed left hand towards him to signal he wasn't there for a fight.

"Relax I'm not here for any trouble. Can you walk, boy?”
