[RP] Final Fantasy IX: Scars of Terra

Robert Crescent

Robert offered a smile to the young warrior's offer. "Yes, that would be much appreciated, thank you. I will need to leave first thing in the morning however. Still, your hospitality is much appreciated Atalanta." Robert spoke in a gracious tone of voice. The sun was setting, and even by rooftop or train car it would take a while to get to the castle. He would still need to get to the castle to speak with Cid before the Hunt begins. While Robert was certain that Cid would have heard about the failed attack on Burmecia, he wasn't sure just how much Cid knew about the enemy forces. Besides, perhaps his presence around the other female would help her to see what other men were like as a proud example of Burmecia.

Hearing a loud scream from just up ahead, Lucia instantly recognised it as Gisale but, why would Gisale scream? She was strong, wise, powerful, what could possibly scare her? Noticing her door was ajar, Lucia burst in and found Gisale... Crying. Running onto the bed Lucia held Gisale in her arms and lightly ran her fingers through her hair, trying to calm her down. "It's okay, it was just a bad dream..."

Holding Gisale's head to her chest she tried her best to keep her calm waiting for the tears to stop before lifting her head up again "Are you okay now?" smiling lightly, happy she had found Gisale again, tightening her grip on her somewhat, not allowing herself to let her go a second time.

--------------------------------------

Vanessa kept a firm hold on Twin Sword as they laid down together in her bed, relaxing against Twin Sword's much warmer body. As she began to relax Vanessa found herself instinctively moving her head down Twin Sword's body, using her chest as a makeshift cushion as she tightened her grip on her. At least, before realising it wasn't Atalanta's and pulled away almost immediately before curling in a ball, apologising almost in a chant.

"I'm so sorry, y'see i'm used to sis' uh..." Vanessa then peered out from her arms with a relatively blank expression "oh, that explains it, sis was comfier" Vanessa returned to her ball-like state, trying to keep herself warm, a more difficult task without Twin Sword's body heat, thanks to Vanessa's naturally cool body.

Annelise Steiner and Regent Cid

"Mind walking with me inside the castle? It is about to rain you know." The Regent asked.

"Well...okay." Anne said, trying to be modest. It was starting to rain, and just being outside is certainly going to give them both a chill. She would walk beside the Regent as they began heading inside. "Oeilvert is a formidable opponent, with many technological advances. It's hard to believe that they were still ale to field such large army so soon after their civil war."

Anne pondered for a moment. "Lord Cid, I keep hearing about this Civil War that Oeilvert had before now. Just what happened during this conflict that led to this?"

Cid sighed and shook his head as they made their way to the corridor leading to the elevator. "I do not know everything about it. But what I do know is this. The Oeilvert Civil War was fought to determine who would be crowned as King of Oeilvert. Many warriors would fight in this conflict, and left thousands dead."

Anne and Cid stopped in front of the lift as it closed moving up to the quarters. "In the end Cyril became the King, and in the two years since then, he somehow managed to rebuild his military. Perhaps, even larger than the armies they have had put together."
----
General Gisale

Gisale was surprised to see Lucia enter her room and try to console her. Wiping the tears away, she wrapped her arms around Lucia. Gisale herself was worried not about herself, but for the people she would have to hurt in order to bring peace. Would it all be worth it? Would she still feel the same towards Lucia?

"I'm sorry to make you worry like that." Gisale spoke calmly, trying to be strong. "I have doubts...I have such doubts."
----
Atalanta Palaiologos

"Yes, that would be much appreciated, thank you. I will need to leave first thing in the morning however. Still, your hospitality is much appreciated Atalanta."

"Fair enough." Atalanta said with a warm smile before moving to the next room. Opening a cupboard door, she pulled out a warm blanket and walked out to the living room. "Alright Robert, follow me, I'll show you the bedroom." Atalanta headed up the stairs as she walked up to the next bedroom, passing Vanessa's room and the first guest room where she assumed Lucia was sleeping in. The second guest room was adjacent to her room and was the only other room besides her own that had a large bed. "Here, this is where you will sleep tonight." As she put the blanket down she said, "I hope you have a good rest, and I'll see you at the castle tomorrow."
----
The Twinsword

As Twinsword lied down beside Vanessa, Vanessa would lay on her chest. She felt her warm head rest there but then Vanessa would pull away and curl up into a ball. "Hey, what's the matter?"

"I'm so sorry, y'see i'm used to sis' uh..." She would then look at Twinsword before saying "oh, that explains it, sis was comfier"

"Sis was...comfier?!?" Twinsword thought as her face turned blue with the utter shock of it all, and began twiddling her fingers as she got all nervous.
----
The Pirate

After stealing the Burmecians weapon, the Lord-General rushed out of the room, moving as quickly and quietly as possible to avoid detection by the enemy. The Burmecian army was probably still out on patrol, since Cleyra was still in Oeilvertian hands.

After a couple hours of sneaking around, he found a hidden passageway behind the wall. Slipping into this corridor, the wall closed behind him.

"If I were a pair of elemental mirrors, where would I..." His train of thought ended when he saw a brilliant glow come from a nearby room. Walking up as close to the room as possible, he looked to see that two Burmecian guards were guarding the two elemental mirrors.

"Jackpot!" The Pirate thought, now how to deal with the guards?

"Thank you. I will see you in the morning at the castle then milady." he replied to her as she brought him to the room. It was nice and cozy, the style of the room different from a traditional Burmecia room. Once his hostess had left the room, Robert set his lance to rest against the wall beside the bed, in case a night attack came. Unwrapping the cloth strips from his feet and taking out a small bottle of soap water, he began to clean the cloth strips with his fingers before setting them next tot he window to dry. Laying down on the large, comfortable bed, the Burmecian settled in for a restful sleep.

Robert would sleep in the room until the first rays of morning light came through the window. Taking the cloth wrappings and re-wrapping his lower legs and feet, he took his lance and opened the window of the room before jumping off to the nearest rooftop and beginning his trek back to the castle.

Holding Gisale as tightly as she was able, Lucia listened to what she had to say before making a reply "But how could you have doubts? You're Gisale, everything I wish I could be, everything i've always wanted, to me you're perfect" Lucia then felt her own tears, though slight begin to build up "just please, promise not to run away again? I don't want to be alone in the world, you're the only way I can be strong and be myself" as she said this she began to lay down with her, fatigue beginning to catch up with her, slowly closing her eyes as she rested on Gisale.

--------------------------------------------------

Seeing Twin Sword's reaction, Vanessa wondered if that was a touchy subject for her, trying to make amends before Twin Sword stopped liking her she crawled over to her "I'm sorry, I think they're nice, really" before hugging her again.

Resting her head against Twin Sword again she fell asleep in a few moments, barely making a sound.

--------------------------------------------

Seeing no indication of Annelise returning yet, Ricard sighed to himself and headed to the guest room, hoping she'd get some rest tonight with the big day tomorrow. Finding a vacant bed near the exit to the guest room he laid himself down on it and placed his katana propped up next to it.

"Well tomorrow should be eventful, hopefully I wake up as alone as I sleep" his mind casting back to his 'encounter' with Twin Sword and Annelise. "Well, women" joking to himself as he closed his eyes and fell asleep.

OOC: Small post, but it moves them along to tomorrow at least.

Annelise Steiner and Regent Cid
As the elevator stopped, she stayed on by the lift while Cid stepped off. “I want to be briefed on the capabilities of the Oeilvert Army tomorrow. If I have heard correctly, the Burmecians victory should shed light on the fighting capabilities of the Oeilvert Army.”

Anne nodded, “I understand, good night your Majesty.” She bowed before she activated the switch that would take her to the middle floor while Cid headed to bed. Once she reached her intended floor, Anne would move down the hall and turn right to the library. Upon heading in that direction she saw both Lan and Remilia sleeping on a pair of chairs there. The knight smiled, before moving her way to the next room. Climbing up the stairs she saw Ricard sleeping soundly on the bed overlooking a window out to the city. Smiling, the Alexandrian knight took off her breastplate, leaving on the brigandine that she wore underneath. As Annelise rested her armor on the ground next to the empty bed she would walk over to Ricard and gave him a kiss on the cheek. “Good night, my Knight in Shining Armor.”

Anne moved back to the empty bed, taking off her sword as well and laying the broadsword beside Ricard’s Katana. She would then lie down on the empty bed, closing her eyes and drifting off to a long sleep.
----
The Twinsword and Atalanta Palaiologos
Twinsword felt Vanessa cuddle up beside her, apologizing for her previous comment about her flat chest. While the former Lord-General blushed at the thought, she would just smile and rub her hair. She would then lie down, looking up at the wooden ceiling and lamenting what she has to do now. All she thought about was her current predicament, but not just that. She also went on to think about Ricard before falling to a blissful sleep.

After leaving Robert to rest Atalanta would move to Vanessa’s room. Finding her asleep with Twinsword, the giant pink-haired woman smiled from behind the door before closing it shut. “Tomorrow is another day.” She said before walking into the bedroom and shutting the door behind, getting ready to head to bed. But before she did so she wanted to check up on Lucia, who wasn’t seen again since they came to the house. Upon opening the door she saw that no one was inside, an open window with curtains billowing meant only one thing. Atalanta sighed looking at the situation at hand. “Now where could she have gone I wonder?” She shrugged and dismissed it under the assumption that she may have went to find that woman from before, but why?

The Pirate
The Pirate looked out to see what he had ahead of him. Ahead was a long stone walkway with a small walled part, which meant that, stepping outside would be tantamount to suicide at best. Looking ahead there was a Black Mage and a Burmecian, most likely a Dragon Knight. He knew that both of them would be a threat at range, but if he can manage to knock off one of those people. It would help turn the tide in favor. He sighed; it wasn’t in his intention to stain his hands, unlike his men. But war meant that you can’t pick and choose your enemies.

Theme-Battle for the Mirror

He pulled out a regular flintlock pistol, his revolving flintlocks most likely lost. He also drew out his cutlass. Since this was going to be how it is, he decided to go at it hard and fast walking out so that the two could see him he exclaimed. “So, wasn’t expecting me to make a break for it, huh?” The Burmecian Knight pointed his spear at the Lord-General while the Black mage charged red energy in his hands. All the Pirate did was smile for a bit before he turned to a more serious expression, pointing his pistol at the Black Mage without even looking. Without a second thought, he pulled the trigger, firing the iron ball at the Black Mage and punching a hole through his hand. The loud noise of the firearm discharge and the mage shriek in pain was certain to alert the guards to the breakout. He didn’t have enough time to really make an escape plan so it would seem he may have to fight his way out.

The Dragon Knight jumped high into the air, gliding his spear downward in an attempt to impale him on the spear, but the Genome Lord-General jumped back as soon as he landed, lunging forward almost immediately to knock the Burmecian away from his blade, but it failed as the Knight moved back. The Black Mage used his uninjured hand to launch a fire spell at the Lord-General, which had narrowly dodged, the embers catching his jacket on fire. The Pirate immediately took off the jacket, tossing it into the moat below as he continued to focus on the Dragon Knight, swinging the back of the Pistol at the Dragon Knight’s skull. However he would dodge it, kicking the Pirate in the chest and knocking him back. The knight further continued with a Cherry Blossom attack, scattering razor sharp pink petals of energy of which some would cut into the Pirate’s body as he moved back to avoid most of the strike. The white-haired genome panted, as a thunder spell added insult to injury, losing his flintlock and forcing the man to jump up onto one side of the walled barrier that prevented people from going overboard.

Balancing himself on the wall he quickly ran forward, ignoring the pain as the Mage charged up for a spell. The Pirate pulled out his last grenade he had and lit it, throwing it at the Mage. The Mage couldn’t see the black ball at night until it was too late, exploding in his face. If the force of the explosion didn’t kill him, then he would fall off the pillar and into the moat. The Pirate would jump to where his original position was, pointing his sword directly at the Burmecian Dragon Knight. The two of them would swing their blades at each other endlessly, trying to push each other off. The Genome Lord General would weave through a thrust by the Burmecian’s spear and move in to kick the rat in the chest. He then took the elemental mirror and smashed it against the side of the head, the mirror shattering upon contact as the unconscious Burmecian slumped off the pillar and into the moat.

The Pirate, panting as he saw the shattered mirror, obviously a fake and cursed at himself as he slumped on the empty pillar, tossing the shattered mirror away. But the two soldiers would not have gone out of their way just for some fake mirror. He began to feel the pillars, and then the ground as the sounds of footsteps came from the corridor nearby… “Reinforcements, perfect...” As he looked, the Pirate pressed down a brick that was at a higher level than some of the other bricks on the east side. The center pedestal began to rise, revealing a glass center that contained the mirrors. Wanting to be sure, The Pirate tapped it hard with his sword, but it did not break. “Perfect, the real deal, and two of them too!”

The Lord-Generals high point finally collapsed when the Burmecians found him. “There he is! Surround him!!!” He turned around to find nearly a dozen Burmecian soldiers on the pillar, cutting his escape route. “Dammit, so close…” As the Pirate picked up the mirrors with one hand and held his sword out with the other, a bright light appeared near his position that blinded the man a bit. What followed was shrieks of pain and terror as his eyes opened up, revealing flaming corpses of Burmecian soldiers, the bridge practically seeping in Magma. Looking to the side, The Pirate saw the familiar face look back at you. “I can’t believe you took this long to get the Mirror’s Pirate. I shouldn’t have to bail you out at three minutes to midnight!!!” The Bishop screamed out at him.

“Oh, you know you can’t resist leaving me be.”
The Pirate said casually, raising his eyebrow at her. The Bishop would simply punch him in the shoulder, which caused him to clutch it in pain. She then immediately held his hand and said sternly. "Next time you flirt with me, I'll have you castrated, do you hear me? Teleport!” Before a white light flashed out again, the both of them disappearing, most likely back to Oeilvert.

Gisale Wettin
Gisale looked at Lucia as she fell asleep on her bed. It was not her appearance that made her mortified about her, but what she had said. Gisale got off of the bed, wiping the tears that were still on her face and looked out into the cloudy, rainy skies. “Lucia…I’m not as perfect as you might think I am. You and Annelise think of me the same way. But…” Gisale put her hand onto her heart. “I’m just not worthy to be your role model. I hope that…you would understand someday.” She turned around and looked at Lucia, as much as these encounters further complicated matters, she still had a role to fulfill, and…she must do this to stop this war, to save Cyril from himself. The Lord General walked over to a nearby couch, letting Lucia sleep soundly on her bed. Resting her head on the back of the couch, she closed her eyes to rest for a bit.

Gisale slept lightly for a few hours, and it was still dark when Gisale woke up. Without disturbing her other occupant, she quickly changed clothes into her familiar armor, but this time, she wore a white hood that the Genome Knight put on over her head. As she picked up her claymore, Antares, she looked over at Lucia, still sound asleep as she opened a window. She sighed, “I’m sorry Lucia, but I must do what I can. Maybe you will understand someday. But…there are some things that must be done, not just for your stake or for the world, but for my sake as well." With that she jumped out the window, landing on the outside, just in front of the inn before heading to the castle.
----
Atalanta Palaiologos and The Twinsword
Atalanta woke up at the crack of dawn, looking out to the rising sun. Stretching out a bit she got up off the bed, moving in to open the window beside her bed. She was wearing a very long pink nightgown, fancy enough that only nobles or mercenaries with enough money would afford. She felt the cool breeze billow through her room before she turned around and opened her door to wake up the guests. First she started heading to Robert’s room. Atalanta first knocked on the door. After no response, she would open the door. Like Lucia, Robert disappeared, only showing the windows open and the curtains blowing. “Just what is it with people and not using the door?” Atalanta shook her head before walking in and closing the window.

After that, Atalanta headed off to see Vanessa and her other guest, who was sharing a room there. Knocking on the door a bit she slightly opened it before saying. “Time to wake up ladies!”

Twinsword, who was sleeping soundly on the bed with Vanessa rolled over a bit, “Ugh, five more minutes…” Atalanta smiled and walked up closer to the bed. When she tried to shake both Vanessa and Twinsword awake a bit, the former Lord-General yawned and sat up, inadvertently landing her face against the mercenary’s bosom. Twinsword didn’t realize this until a few seconds later, when she freaked out and landed her back against the back of the bed.

Atalanta smiled. “Hehe, I didn’t know you swing that way too?”

“N-No, I’m not into girls, h-honestly!” Twinsword said, trying to diffuse the awkward situation.
----
Annelise Steiner

Annelise woke up as the sun rose up into the sky. Rubbing the sleepiness out of her eyes she sat up and get to the side of the bed. It got too warm and she had to unbutton her brigandine a bit so her body could breathe. Looking to see Ricard still asleep, Anne quickly blushed, buttoning up her brigandine before he would wake up. The Knight stood up, picking up the breastplate in her arms as she headed out to the large windows overlooking the city. Lindblum was just as beautiful at dawn as it was at night. Yet the unease that Oeilvert was going to launch its attack on this special day made her worry. The fact that Gisale is among them, no matter what Lan said otherwise, was also disconcerting. But she still had the Festival to see about first before anything else. As Lan and Robert said, the attack might occur at the time of the Festival, meaning that she has to be on her guard at all times.

Lan Ester and Remilia Oveilia

Morning came early to Lan as he stirred from his sleep just to see the bosom of Remilia in his face.

"Eh? What the? I was sleeping by myself." Len muttered as he tried to get out of Remilia's sleeping form. It was then that Remilia woke up and saw Lan trying to get out of her lap.

"Good morning Lan." Remilia said smiling as Lan got off of her lap.

"Morning. I thought I was sleeping by myself. I guess you saw to that." Lan muttered as he got up and stretched.

"Yeah. You needed some company. So I slept out here with you. Everything's happening today isn't it?" Remilia asked looking at the green haired genome.

Lan turned away from Remilia's gaze.

"Yeah. This battle will determine the path in this war. It will either spell the beginning of the end for the Mist contestant or the start of it's salvation." Lan muttered as he started to walk away.

Remilia ran up and hugged Lan from behind him.

"Do you have to go into the battle just to kill Cyril?" Remilia asked.

"If I don't do this, the line of death will not stop." Lan muttered as he started to pry himself from her grip.

"So young and yet determined. Please Lan, don't be too reckless." Remilia replied as she walked around Lan and gave him a quick peck on the lips.

Lan gasped slightly as he watched Remilia walk off to the air cab with an odd spring in her step. Smiling, Lan started to make his way to the guest bedroom.

"Let's start the march of history." Lan muttered as he entered the guest bedroom and leaned against a wall.

Robert Crescent

Robert lept across the rooftops, finding the path more direct than the train system, and also far more scenic. He wanted to get a good idea of the city's layout from above for when the festival took place. Not only would it give him an advantage in the hunt, but also he'd be able to plan out his routes. Also having an aerial view would give him a better means of spotting anything out of the ordinary, so if he had to leave the hunt in order to intercept someone that looked suspicious, he could and he would know where to go in order to cut them off.

Robert arrived at the castle entrance and headed into the lobby. There he would wait for a guard or for the other members of the group to show up. He took out from his backpack a grain and nut honey bar and began munching on it as his breakfast.

Aaron Sohm

It was morning finally,Aaron awoke from his peaceful slumber and got up from the bed,He stretched out and yawned loudly.

"Yahhhh....I feel like I slept for a week.."He said while stretching out making sure he's nice and limber for today's festival.

After he finished stretching he grabbed his sword from the ground, sat back down on the bed,and grabbed a cloth from his back pocket,he began to polish his sword. While polishing the blade he looks down at his clothing,it's all tattered and worn..

"Ehh...I'll need to get a change of clothes soon.."He grumbled to himself

Once he got his sword to shine he stood back up and placed the weapon left to him onto his back,He walk's out of the bedroom and begins to walk towards the Air Cab's.

((OOC: Short Post, wasn't sure if a npc was supposed to tell us when it starts :P))

Stephen strode into the city of Lindblum, his hood lay around his shoulders, looking around, he stood proud as all assassins did. "the festival of the hunt is today, i should make my way to the castle" he muttered to himself before flicking his hood over his head and began striding through the city, Stephen slid his hand into the back of his cloak and felt the grips of Odin and Hades, his two trusted Daggers given to him by his mentor.

Sliding his hands back out and reaching inside the front around the hip area he felt four throwing knives "i wonder if four shall be enough for the tournament" Stephen muttered to himself continuing on his own. his stride held pride and power, he felt as though this would be a good way to legitimately earn some money. removing his hand from his cloak as not to look more suspicious, he headed towards the air cab, and then for the castle.

as he approached the air cab he looked at the guards who all took a step in his direction and gripped their spears tighter, he slowly raised his hand in the air and lowered his hood slowly,
"I am an armed man yes, but no you may not take my weapons, i am a warrior here to compete in the festival of the hunt"
"you lie" announced one of the guards "you are a thief, we have seen men such as yourself in this city before, and nothing good came of it"
"if you say so, sir knight" Stephen replied "I am an honourable man who is here to compete in the hunt, here is my registration form" Stephen added as he reached into a pouch on his belt and handed one of the knights a scroll of paper, snatching it with a sneer the knight opened it and began reading, a few lines later his face became one of disbelief
"allow him through" the knight said with a shake of his head in disbelief as he handed the scroll back to Stephen, and the guards stepped aside.

Stephen took the scroll back and placed it back where it was, flicking his hood back up to cover his face once more. Entering the Air cab he took a seat and looked around, the cab was empty. Smiling he sat back in his seat and and unsheathed his Daggers Odin and Hades and looked at them, the identical blades shimmered oddly as their blades were black, "boys we take the Festival of the hunt to the monsters, take everything down and win, it's as simple as that" Stephen muttered before sitting forwards and sheathing the daggers again before resting his elbows on his knee's and gazing intently at the floor as the Cab set off towards the Castle.

Yawning quietly Vanessa lightly opened her eyes as she stretched her arms out, narrowly avoiding Twin Sword's head. Opening her eyes fully she awoke to see Twin Sword's face firmly planted in Atalanta's chest, a bit of an odd thing to wake up to, to be sure. "If you wanted to do that you could've just rested on m-" realising what she was about to say she looked down, remembering the enormous difference between herself and Atalanta and with a bright red face, hid under her duvet.

-----------------------------------

Waking up the following morning, Lucia found herself tightly embracing a pillow instead of who she expected, Gisale. Sighing deeply to herself she moved herself out of the bed and sat up on the side, looking down at the floor. "I guess i'm just not strong enough, I guess i'll have to accept it and try to... Move on" barely holding back her tears she wiped her eyes with her arm and stood up, replacing her robe around herself and keeping the hood firmly down her face, so as to hide her somewhat red eyes.

Leaving the Inn through the front door without a word she took to the streets and made her way back to Lindblum castle, right now she really didn't feel up to fighting, but with luck Gisale would be watching and would hopefully be impressed with her.

----------------------------------

Waking up rather silently Ricard found himself practically face to face with Annelise's chest, though strangely she had it left open, a behavior he didn't expect from Annelise, even taking into account recent events. At any rate he turned his head around just as she awoke and waited for her to cover herself before he moved himself out of bed, revealing himself to be concious. Putting the images out of his head he picked up his katana and shouldered it, sheath in hand and walked next to Annelise.

Seeing her rather worried expression he placed a hand on her shoulder "Don't worry so much, it's not like the fate of the world is on your shoulders. Even if we are taken by surprise Lindblum is plenty able to defend itself before we get mobilised. For now just try to clear your head, all the stress will just tire you out anyway" Ricard then walked past her, waving with the back of his hand without stopping or turning his head as he called out, in an attempt to tease her "not to mention giving you early grey hairs!" before Annelise could counter it he set off in a slight run, heading back towards the guest room, awaiting the introduction to the Festival of the Hunt. Even if he wasn't a participant it was still a good way to kill time.

Remilia Oveilia and Lan Ester

The air cab was closed off for all irony to appear as Remilia sighed.

"Just what I wanted. I wanna go shopping. Not watch some boring fight for points. Now what am I going to do?" Remilia wondered as Zodiarc flew from behind her and hovered in front of her.

"Oh yeah. I forgot about you there. You deserve a rest. Take it easy." Remilia muttered as the winged snake dispersed from reality.

Turning around, Remilia walked back into the castle and back to the guest lobby. She passed by Robert and Ricard as she gave both of them a friendly wave. Just then, Lan came out of the Guest Bedroom and saw the trio there.

"Are we waiting on the guard for the Festival?" Lan asked looking around.

"I guess. I'm not the one fighting after all. I'll grab some food for you." Remilia said as she walked off to find the kitchen in the castle.

Lan took the time to find a table and sat down. Soon enough, Remilia came back with some bread. She walked over to Lan and placed the bread beside him as she watched Lan pulled out both of his Cat Claws and started to clean the blades of the weapon with a small portion of his robe as the pair waited for the judge.

As the air cab came to a halt, Stephen Stepped off and showed a guard the scroll, "you shall be meeting in the guest lobby" he informed Stephen who followed the man to where he would be waiting, As Stephen entered the room he looked around and saw the other competitors, one of whom was cleaning a pair of claw like weapon's "could he be a monk" Stephen thought to himself before sitting down at another table and pulled out Odin and a piece of cloth and began polishing the black blade.

"so this thing runs on a point system, must be the bigger the foe the more points, don't waste time with the smaller foes, head straight for the biggest meanest looking monster in the city, show no mercy and kill it, your used to it, it's just a monster, not like it's a human or anything" Stephen thought to himself as he sheathed Odin and pulled out it's identical twin brother Hades, polishing it as he did so. "Monsters are easy they don't think about the fight, they just charge hungrily, like a blood thirsty berserker, shouldn't be to hard to kill, after all i have taken down more than my fair share of both monsters and humans" he continued his train of thought.

once Hades was polished he sheathed the dagger and looked around the room "so when does this thing start?" Stephen asked the people inside the room, a slight smirk on his face as though he was looking forward to the upcoming monster slaying festival, although most probably wouldn't have seen it due to the shadow cast by his hood that was up as it normally was around other people, Stephen also took note of the fact that it wasn't a human cleaning his claws, it was a Genome.

"this could be interesting" Stephen thought to himself as he glanced around the room.

Atalanta Palaiologos and The Twinsword

Atalanta shrugged and smiled at Vanessa's comment while Twinny, still red in the face, tried to defend herself. "It's not what it looks like, Vanessa!" In the end, all she could do was blush and get off the bed, unable to protest. Atalanta smiled as she let her guest move out of the room to wash up. She smiled at Vanessa, rubbing her hair, "I think you should go wash up Vanessa. Meet me downstairs so we could go to the castle. Okay?" After she would answer, Atalanta would head out of the bedroom and walk down the stairs, waiting for the them to come. A few minutes later, Twinsword would come down the stairs, armed with her trademark twin katana swords.

----
Annelise Steiner

The feeling of someone's hand resting on her shoulder led to her quickly reacting, turning around to see Ricard awake. She was spooked a bit, and as she looked down to see herself look improper, blushed and rezipped her brigandine. "W-What are you doing awake?" She stammered out.

"Don't worry so much, it's not like the fate of the world is on your shoulders. Even if we are taken by surprise Lindblum is plenty able to defend itself before we get mobilised. For now just try to clear your head, all the stress will just tire you out anyway" As he turned away, she heard Ricard also add "not to mention giving you early grey hairs!"

"H-Hey!!!" Annelise said after that. That was the last thing any woman would want to hear. But he was right. Stressing about the situation was surely going to make her lose focus in the coming battle. She walked over to her breast plate and began to put the armor on.

After doing so, and picking up her Broadword, she began to head down the steps and towards the common room, where she saw Robert waiting by the entrance. Walking up to the Burmecian, she inquired. "Good morning Robert, did you sleep well?"

Once both Atalanta and Twin Sword left the room, Vanessa shyly lifted the duvet off her head and slowly got out of bed. Brushing off her clothes to get out some of the creases she took out a brush and walked to her table mirror, brushing out any knots in her long hair before walking out of the room.

As she left she saw Twin Sword walk downstairs while Vanessa went to freshen up before following downstairs, lightly holding Twin Sword's right arm to her chest.

---------------------------------

After getting off the aircab leading to the Castle, Lucia took a slow walk up to the Guest room, head kept down so nobody would see her gloomy face. As she walked into the guest room, while intended it wasn't expected due to her lack of paying attention to where she was going. After going up a few steps she bumped into someone, recognising it as Annelise she stepped back she kept her head down and uttered a quiet "sorry" before turning around and sitting down on a bed, she wasn't quite up for talking just yet, much less putting on her usual act.

Keeping her hood up she hoped her lack of a good mood wasn't too apparent, though after speaking, it was likely it was sticking out like a sore thumb.

Returning a casual wave to Remilia, Ricard watched with mild amusement at her behavior with Lan, to him it appeared cute, like schoolchildren with a crush. Though the happy air was temporary as a stranger showed up and started cleaning some blades, considering his shady appearance and his attention to his weapons Ricard kept his guard up, last thing they needed was another enemy to watch out for.

Once again however, this mood was broken as he heard someone bump into Annelise, turning to face her he spotted Lucia, though something appeared a little... Off, catching Annelise's attention he gestured for her to check on Lucia, this looked like it was a woman's job rather than his, judging by Lucia's sharp drop in energy.

Robert Crescent

Robert looked over to see Annalise walk over towards him. The Burmecian gave her a smile and a nod in response to her question. "Yes, I slept rather soundly, thank you. Still, I hope Cid has returned from his trip. There is much to talk about concerning Oilvert's forces, their weapons, the strengths and weaknesses of their technologies." Robert responded, resting his lance against his right shoulder.

Atalanta Palaiologos and The Twinsword

As Vanessa held onto Twnsword, Atalanta smiled, thankful that she finally found a new friend. She was fully dressed and equipped for the competition, and so was Twinsword. "Alright, we're ready." Twinny nodded as they reached the ground floor. "Aww, You two look so cute together." Atalanta playfully teased, much to the former Lord General's embarrassment. "Anyway, let us head to the air cabs." She smiled before turning around and exiting the house, heading down the street to the air cabs.

Annelise Steiner

"Yes, I slept rather soundly, thank you. Still, I hope Cid has returned from his trip. There is much to talk about concerning Oilvert's forces, their weapons, the strengths and weaknesses of their technologies."

Anne nodded at Robert's comment. "Actually, he has returned sometime last night. He is familiar with some of their technologies, but I do not know what he has in store to counter them yet. He hasn't told me anything of the sort." The knight shrugged as they continued to wait for Cid to come.

Just then she was bumped into by someone. At first she was going to protest, but upon seeing the person behind it she realized it was Lucia? "sorry"

"What is wrong with Lucia?" Anne said, not realizing that she said it aloud so that Robert could hear.

"Aww, You two look so cute together."

Hearing this, Vanessa blushed bright red before awkwardly moving her face against Twin Sword's back, hoping to hide it from Atalanta's sight. Glad for Atalanta's swift change of subject, Vanessa kept herself attached to Twin Sword's body as they proceeded to the Air Cabs, by the time they got in, her redness had faded.

Aaron walked outside the bedroom and arrived in the Guest Room,he saw a few people around, mostly the people he's been traveling with,he figured to just hang around them till the festival starts up.

"Man there's quite a few playing this year, hope I can get some kill's at the least.."He mumbled to himself.

He saw a empty couch,he walked over and sat down waiting on the guard to announce who will be starting where..

Robert shook his head a bit to Annelise's question, whether she intended for it to be spoken aloud or not. "I know not. She was like this yesterday, though more distraught. I asked her about it, but she spoke nothing of it, only asking for space. Considering our brief history, I'd not expect her to tell me something so deeply important regardless of my intent to help." Robert explained to Annelise in a calm and quiet tone, not wanting to carry the conversation beyond them.
