(RP) SFR: The Age of Reconquista

Yet another reason to be thankful to the Paladin. Vesper had been made an offer she had no reason to turn down. After all, having some official papers to ease her way through the borders would be a safer alternative to simply hoping to go through with her current status. Although Vesper was loathe to accumulate her debts, she preferred this over a repeat of the earlier border incident.

I shall be leaving for Castilla tomorrow with Bishop d'Remilly. If you won't be staying in Toulousa, you can travel with us. If not, i still intend to give them to you regardless. I still insist on shortening your stay.

Bishop d'Remilly. A familiar name, but not one Vesper was familiar with. Chances are, this was a name mentioned by her parents when they were discussing serious issues that Vesper wouldn't want to know about. Still, hearing it here was interesting at best, though it may not be a good thing. Leowyne stepped aside to gesture to an approaching man. Initially, Vesper was wondering where exactly was this man. In her mind, a picture of an elderly man had formed from the moment the title 'bishop' came attached to the name.

But as the approaching man came closer, Vesper realized to her surprise that the Bishop was this young man.

In any case, this here is Bishop Joachim D'Remilly. Bishop, this is Vesper Kasid, the child that has accompanied me from Gallica.

Vesper quickly placed a hand over her chest and bowed slightly - a trademark Valiran greeting that her family typically used for figures of authority. "Your Excellency, it is my greatest pleasure to meet you. I am Vesper Kasid."

Luis Garcia De La Vega

Those lower class serfs in Gerona are becoming more and more insolent, Duke Le Hoc. Their correspondence and diplomatic posts show disrespect and every intention to disparage and insult us.

Hear hear! I say we should march in and teach these peasants an example!

More heated arguments erupted around the table as different lords argue back and forth for the upteenth time. The cacaphony of men screaming over each other was deafening. However, sitting aside from all this, a slim younger man held his porcelain cup to his lip, while calmly sipping its content and looking out the window. It was as if none that was discussed in the room had anything to do with him.

Lord de La Vega! Do not act as if this has nothing to do with you! Are you going to just sit there like a coward while these Hispanians walk all over us?!

In an instant, Luis' eyes went from one of carefree musing to a steely glare, effectively shutting the Lord up and forcing him to swallow his own words.

Those are rather large words there, Lord Kayneth. My memories must be failing me, but i could have sworn it was myself and my men that came to your aid during the pacification of your borders, just when you were almost being overrun?

In truth, during the pacification, Luis was able to enter the battle earlier, but it was a ripe opportunity to cut down a thorn in the court as well as garner favours. Most of the men present were, on one way or another, connected to Luis.

Well, Lord Vega. What do you have in mind?

We do nothing. I don't see the point in entertaining barbarians. Let the weak flap their lips. Only men of less confidence gets offended by such meagre and shallow aggravating tactics.

Nrgh! Why you.....!

To him, the situation has yet to reach the stage he wants for it to erupt into arms. It was a delicate balance, one where the Aquitanian council was leaning too much into battle. He could not appear afford for Aquitania be overly aggressive, if he didnt want Acquitania to appear as the aggressors, but he also didn't want the Hispanians that he was conspiring with to have too big, if any, upper hand. No. Luis was aiming at an equal clash between the two forces with both bearing heavy wounds. Luis cared not for the Duke, nor the goals of the Hispanians. After all, if he was to throw the area into turmoil, then he himself have to have some form of gain from it. There is only ever himself. It is how he is now, and it was how he was since birth.

No... definintely not the time....yet.

With just two simple sentences, Luis has sent the scale back to being neutral, and resumed back drinking his tea as the room erupted into shouting once more.

"The journey shouldn't take much longer, Amira" the replier was Amira's partner and commander Sylvie. The two had been paired up through school since they were children and had formed a strong combat bond. The two were ordered to march on Barbastro to be present for the alliance of the two Hispanian Kingdoms it concerned, Sylvie had her own opinions, yet her training had taught her not to question her superiors, at the very least with anybody present, morale was an easily broken thing and Sylvie did not wish to sow seeds of discord in their ranks over mere suspicion.

The two had journeyed quite a ways for such a light unit, as such it seemed their presences was more a matter of protocol than necessity as their security was not considered of great importance. As Barbastro came into view as a small spot off in the horizon Sylvie knew they would be arriving before it got dark so they could rest before the ceremonies began, at least... If all went to plan.

Joachim d'Remilly

"Your Excellency, it is my greatest pleasure to meet you. I am Vesper Kasid."

"The pleasure is mine, milady."
He said calmly, as he nodded, "I promise you we will have the travel papers ready for tomorrow." Joachim gave her a smile as he spoke to the two ladies, "We'll travel by carriage to Angoulema, my home town where I control as Prince-Bishop. From there we will continue towards Castilla." He said calmly before putting his hand on his chin, "However I am not familiar of the lands beyond that of Gallica, and I will need a map or a guide to get me to the capital city." He nodded, feeling as if he spoke a bit much and seemed a little embarrassed, "Uh, If you haven't done so, I could help provide lodging for the night if you wish."

----
Amira al-Mutamin

The sight of the Jacan capital city brought some degree of relief to her weary body. Traveling a few days in the scorching heat through the plains would do that, but the sight of Barbastro was greatly well appreciated. She breathed a sigh of relief as she spoke as they made their way through the plains and into the city itself.

"Ah, the honored guests of King Garcia has arrived. Welcome to Barbstro, diplomats of Iquierda."
The man in the center, quite possibily the diplomat spoke as the doors opened, leading into the gate. A line of guards were also standing by, as if welcoming the guests as they came in. Amira herself chuckled, "Hehe, I guess the king knew we would be coming." She chirped as she rode her horse into the main streets of the castle town.

Leowyne Grandeeny

We'll travel by carriage to Angoulema, my home town where I control as Prince-Bishop. From there we will continue towards Castilla. However I am not familiar of the lands beyond that of Gallica, and I will need a map or a guide to get me to the capital city.

Leowyne was glad it was nothing serious. It would have been awkward if Bishop D'remilly had an issue with Vesper, but that doesn't seem to be the case. In fact, it appears that he doesn't mind the young girl traveling with the diplomatic envoys. The general plan for the trip was to swing by Angoulema, Bishop D'remilly's town. It would be their best course of action to supply and plot out in details their travel plans from there.

Uh, If you haven't done so, I could help provide lodging for the night if you wish."

Now that you mention it, i have not organised lodging and if Ms Vesper has been staying around here, then i assume neither has she. I will be taking you up on the offer then, Bishop. It would make it easier to group up tomorrow as well.

[OOC: A short one for me as well to move things along]

"It is as Lady Leowyne says."
Vesper says, nodding as she affirmed Leowyne's informed guess about her plans for accommodations. This city is very new to her and considering the earlier incident, there was no motivation to explore without someone to follow. Repeating her earlier gesture of respect, she says,"Your Excellency, thank you for your gracious offer." Putting on a polite smile, Vesper continues to avert her eyes from the Bishop's, as per the instructions she received with regards to meeting authority figures.

Joachim d'Remilly

"I will have your logings ready for tonight. Until then, you may see the sights. Meet me at the Castle Inn when you are ready."
Joachim bowed before walking in the direction of the inn, where he would start to work on the lodging. Although much of the pay from the churches go to the Pope in Diomedes, Joachim, who was lenient enough on taxes was able to procure enough money to help pay for the stay for his travel companions, being a bishop meant that he would be able to stay for free, but he payed for himself nonetheless as an act of good will.

Once the matter was tended to, he would then head to the library to look at various maps of the region. Even though the region was thoroughly mapped, there was still a few spots missing. There were two mountain paths available in the region, one from Toulousa into Castilla, and one from Aquitania into the Alynuian Counties, that of Gerona and Valira, but much of the area into Hipsania was left blank, such was the case with a map limited to just the immediate region of Gallica.

Luciana de Tordesillas & Rodrigo de Cea

Luciana and Rodrigo arrived in the city to find it fortified with Castillan troops, some of them wounded, as if a battle has recently occurred. "By god, what happened here?" Luciana said, looking at some of the soldiers.

"Senor Rodrigo, thank god you've arrived." An officer ran forward to meet with Rodrigo. Stopping to catch his breath the man said, "Raul's forces have moved forward, and managed to capture the capital."

"What?" Rodrigo said, surprised. "I did not expect Lord Raul to make a strike so soon." Rodrigo rubbed his chin, thinking on what do do from here. "How long until they reach this city?"

"About 3 days, Senor, what should we do?"

Luciana turned her attention to the officer, "Should we wait? strengthen our defenses and prepare for a siege. How much supplies do we have?"

"Not enough for a proper siege, Senora Luciana. But we'll do as we must, evacuate the townspeople and the wounded up north to the next city, all fresh and available men line them up, tell them we're going to battle."

OOC: Another short one to get Vesper going

Leowyne Grandeeny

"I will have your logings ready for tonight. Until then, you may see the sights. Meet me at the Castle Inn when you are ready."

Leowyne bowed in response to the Bishop's departure before she turned to Vesper. There was now a fair amount of time before their lodging was really ready, so perhaps Vesper can do a small amount of sightseeing within the city. There was no urgent task that Leowyne needed to attend to so she was free to act as her escort

Ms Kasid. We have some time before we should retire to the inn. Do you wish go and sight see around the castle vicinity? There shouldnt be too much danger this close to the castle. I can accompany you if you wish?

For a brief moment, Vesper did not react. It was only when she realized that Leowyne was speaking to her that she reacted, turning to gaze politely at Leowyne as she spoke. "Definitely, since I am here, I should tour around the city," Vesper replies cheerily. "Of course, your company would be very much appreciated!" This, Vesper realizes, should be an interesting tour. For all the tours around the cities since the start of her journey, she had been alone. This time, she would have someone whom she could speak to. And admittedly, it was good to know. Vivi was a good confidante, but one that never responded to her musings.

"So... shall we?"

Vesper begins walking towards the gates, slowing down to make sure Leowyne followed. The first stop Vesper made on entering the town was to stop by a clothing shop. "Ah, check out this dress," she squeals, as she beckons Leowyne. Rushing into the shop without waiting for the Paladin, she goes up to the mannequin, admiring the dress up close. It was a simple one, with lace rims and sporting a flowery motif; simply put, very attractive. So attractive that Vesper could barely take her eyes off it, even as Leowyne enters.

OOC: Short post to keep things going, I believe the next major event will be while everyone is asleep. :hmmm:

Amira al-Mutamin

The guards would escort Amira and Sylvie to the inside of Castle Barbastro, where they would be staying overnight as the King had to deal with other business concerning the daily squabbles of local aristocrats. Amira felt uneasy, being in a land of a different race and of a different religion than her, but one such tenant of faith was to tolerate and respect others regardless of race. It still did not make her feel any less comfortable however.

Amira would look around the bedchambers, seeing and touching the extravagant threads of the bedsheets and curtains, the ornate rugs from all over the Vestinian world and perhaps even some from the Kokonids. It seemed that the last monarch was interested in both faiths, or at least trading with the old Caliphate of Cordobia, which had existed up until 25 years ago at the most part.

"Oh I do wish Roriks hadn't left so suddenly." sighed Fae as she headed up to the Castle Inn.

Being the daughter of a well known nursing family within the Gallican lands certainly had it's perks and it was because of this that she could be treated as a guest. Her family had connections with healers all across the lands who didn't mind having her stay as a guest. She could remembered that some point in time her mother had once stopped a few good soldiers from greeting death from this kingdom. If anything Fae felt entitled to stay in a place that didn't have the grime and disease of common inns.

So far her travels had been in vain. Not once or twice, but three times she searched for the Alchemist only to be told by his elderly, yet extremely filthy clothed wife that he had been long gone days ago to lands in the south for urgent meeting. There was no purpose for her here and acquiring papers to cross the borders was something she hadn't planned for when she began her travels. The evening sun seemed to be setting soon and she had no plans to fool around...much.

It took a few minutes to carry her things up to her room and freshen up. While she was here anyway Fae figured it wouldn't be a complete waste if she went for an evening stroll and a bite to eat. She checked her clothing in the mirror;pristine white and darkened black upon her dress without a spot of filth or dirt. She was satisfied and left her room before realizing she had absolutely no idea where to go for food or for a stroll. "My this will be an interesting outing." she smiled before taking off down the roads.

The town was full of colorful people and shops were lined with many goods. Fae entered a potions store and bought about 20 ingredients before leaving with a handful of bags. Next she walked into a hat store. There were big hats, small hats, beautiful hats and ugly hats. Fae bought every hat she felt looked fashionable. The items here were in much more supply than the shops in her home kingdom. Before long the woman had a small group of young men offering to carry her packages. All of them were young men, younger than her, but seemed to be very chivalrous. Three of them carried her boxes of hats and alchemy ingredients which made her own hands open to carry more items.

She roamed the streets of Toulousa until she spotted a clothing store. A nice dress sat clinging to a mannequin. Before she could even get close to it the dress was bombarded with a young woman. "Oh dear, I must see it up close."

She fast walked acorss the street and into the shop, determined to have a closer look. It was gorgeous, ladylike, all the things she enjoyed about fashion. If she bought it she would no doubt look lovely in it. However she watched as the other young lady got close to it. A young lady who probably dripped in all sorts of filth. Who knew how clean this child kept herself?! If she so much as touched it, the beautiful garment could be soiled. So it was in great haste that Fae walked up to the mannequin peered at it's lovely floral designs before she said aloud. "I'll take it."

"I'll take it."

Vesper hadn't thought much of the lady who came in with haste to stand beside her, admiring the clothing on the mannequin. Hearing her express her intent to purchase it so quickly was what surprised Vesper. As the shop attendant moved to respond to the lady's order, Vesper quickly stole a glance at the price tag. She couldn't help but wince at the size of the number. Unfortunately for her, being away from home meant that she couldn't possibly decide to return home to bring more cash to pay. While she had enough to afford the dress, buying it would mean that her travel funds would be half depleted - which also meant she would have to travel in the dirtier inns of each town she visits, or cut short her journey around the lands.

Still, the dress seemed to be pleading to be bought. Even as the shop attendant removed it from the mannequin, Vesper still had her eyes trained on it. The possibilities were weighing down in her mind as she struggled to decide what to do next. The shop attendant was already folding the dress neatly so it could be packed and given to the lady buying it. Vesper looked to the lady; she was a blonde-haired lady, slightly taller than Vesper. She was particularly well dressed, however, no doubt someone who could easily buy whatever she wants without a moment's hesitation. Vesper looked her top to toe, imagining how the dress would look on her briefly before she realized the pointlessness of that.

Suddenly thrown back into her state of internal panic, she looked over to Leowyne in desperation, then at the perplexed shop attendant.

"Erm, hey! Is there another of this dress?"

The shop attendant shook her head. "No, sorry, Miss."

And Vesper's heart sank as those words were said. "Would there be another set tomorrow morning, by any chance?"

Vesper wasn't expecting much, so when she received a negative, she wasn't as disappointed. She was crestfallen, and still is, but it wasn't something that she couldn't live with. Dejectedly, she went over to the young lady who had took the dress, and said," No doubt, that dress will look really good on you."

Verdus sat in the desert outpost with his few friends. Long had he been assumed dead and it would be a while before his legendary status would rise again. His loyal follower, a young Valiran child had approached him with some bread.
"Thank you Grensel. I suppose I cannot be rid of you huh?" Asked Verdus.
"Not at all Master Verdus! I'm gonna be Grensel The Great! You wait and see!" Replied Grensel with such enthusiasm that Verdus had to smile his sweet-fanged grin.
"And so I shall young one. Even if the whole world shall be brought upon to chaos by religious affairs. I care not for such trivial matters anymore. But I must find the truth soon. Who is right? Who is wrong? I need find out. I have fought for rebels, for the Kokonid. But never have I fought fr myself. So I shall, with my own group. I am to find the Bishop, see upon his remarkable tales. Perhaps I will find a shred of truth there. Understand Grensel, that I may be found an enemy soon. Are you willing to stay with me even then?" Asked Verdus. Grensel nodded hastily.
"Of course! For us Felidians! All the way Master Verdus! And so will my twin sister!" As quick as she was mentioned was as quick as she appeared.
"Ilsa reporting for duty!" Another young bubbly Felidian. Red-furred and red-haired just like her brother. Soon, a tall elfish man with a long slver mane appeared.
"Twins, it is time to clean up." A long time friend of Verdus, Kirus was a very wise elf and especially talented with the strategies of battle. Seldom speaking to others expect from Verdus; he showed a great story in his cold blue eyes.
"Aww. Kirus ya big meanie!" They both moaned at the same time and trodded off to their duties.
"A word Verdus?" Kirus sat beside his best friend. Verdus's fierce eyes closed upon his arrival and opened again with satisfaction.
"Of course. What is it?" Verdus relpied.
"We must be off soon. The journey to the Bishop will be tiresome, and the sooner the better."
"Then off course. The rest will stay here. You and I shall travel then. Let us be off without a word, and be as quick as the wind." As they reached the outpost gates, they said farewell to the gatekeeper and rode off on their wagon. It would be a journey indeed.

Leowyne Grandeeny

"So... shall we?"

Like any girl her age, Vesper went off like an arrow at the slightest hint of playing and leisure time. Leowyne couldn't help but sigh, half in relaxation and half in bittersweet thoughts. She really couldn't help but think "what if i never listened to my dreams? What if i just lived the life of a normal girl? Would i be able to feel the pleasant idleness like that?"Of course, Leowyne knew her place. She had a duty and no thought of worry free lifestyle or the easy way would sway her from her path. She was happy enough that the thought of her action allowing another young child live freely was enough. However, it was time to pick up her feet. Any slower, and she would lose the fleet footed girl int he crowd.

Ah, wait for me Ms Kasid.

As Leowyne squeezed through the crowd, it was not unexpected that there were cries of objection from disgruntled people. It is an understatement that Leowyne isn't small. Clad in full armour, she was rather bulky and trying to push through a crowd never ended well. It was just that no one really wanted to tangle or actually act on their feelings against a knight that is a head taller than everyone. Thankfully, Vesper had slowed down at a clothing shop up ahead and entered. Slowing down to a walk, Leowyne took her time now with the threat of losing her charge gone. Lowering her head so as to enter without clocking herself on the noggin, Leowyne caught hold of Vesper's rather flustered voice.

"Erm, hey! Is there another of this dress?"

"No, sorry, Miss."

"Would there be another set tomorrow morning, by any chance?"

Leowyne was lost in the conversation for a bit until she deduced that the dress that was packed on the counter was for the other lady in the shop and that Vesper had just missed out on it.

No doubt, that dress will look really good on you."

It was easy to tell that the other lady was Gallican. Like herself, she was pale, blonde and blue eyed. Her facial appearance and the garb she wore gave her a rather lofty feel about her. No doubt someone from at least a middle class background. She was unlike the urchins that often roam the streets around the church in Ile de Gallia

Ah, Ms Vesper. Please do remember i am not as lithe and limber as you. I find it most difficult to follow you at that speed in crowds. I think i may have offended several people on the way.

Leowyne gave a rather embarrassed smile at her inability to keep up. As Vesper's companion, it was good manners to greet the woman she had talked to. Facing the lady, Leowyne placed a hand across her chest and gave a low head bow as acknowledgement.

(OOC: Short post. Didn't have as much creativity. Sorry >.<)

"No doubt, that dress will look really good on you."

Fae looked upon the young human girl with interest. Did she sense a tinge of sadness? "Oh! Thank you!" she said to the shop attendant who had given her the dress packaged and ready to go.

She wanted the dress but putting her wants aside for this youth came second nature. "It's yours if you'd like it." she said holding out the box to the human as he companion arrived.

She took a moment to study the both of them. The young girls companion looked so close like a direct relation, only human and a bit more rough around the edges."Oh dear, is this your older sister? It's nice to meet you both." she said smiling politely at the two women.

"I've some hats you can have also." she nodded her head to the nice gentlemen carrying her hatboxes and potions bags waiting outside. "You're such a um-"She paused to find the words before seeing as this girl looked a bit rough herself. "-a lovely young lady. I'm sure you'd look so pretty in something purple, or maybe green!(after a bath and a bit of a milk tea scrub) Oh my I'm rambling! Where are you girls staying?"

She was getting a bit ahead of herself. But after all she needed something to do if she weren't learning how to strengthen invisibility potions.

The well-dressed lady seemed to take interest in her response, seemingly studying her. Vesper half-smiled as she turned to Leowyne, who must have came in at some point during her conversation with the shop keeper. At Leowyne's words, she chuckle at Leowyne's awkward smile," Ha ha, Lady Leowyne, I am sure these people were not as offended as you think they are if you're able to get her without incident." Vesper winked as she said that, knowing full well that people were probably more hesitant around someone decked out in full armor. Well enough to let such minor trespasses slide. Shrugging, Vesper was about to exit the shop for more exploring around town when the well-dressed lady, after taking the neatly packed dress, surprised her by offering the object of her desires.

She was holding out the package, both arms outstretched while Vesper stared back, mouth agape. "A-are you serious? Wow, thank you, kind Lady!" Vesper had to summon a lot of strength to keep herself from snatching the package out of the lady's hands. The feeling of holding that box in her hand was pure ecstasy indeed, much like snuggling in bed with her favorite bolster. The sense of satisfaction was so overwhelming she was grinning from ear to ear.

"Oh dear, is this your older sister? It's nice to meet you both."

Even though the mistake was made, Vesper did not bother to correct it. "It is nice to meet you too, dear Lady!"

"I've some hats you can have also."

It would seem this lady's generosity was exceptionally immense. Either that, or she was a richer lady than her clothing could possibly reveal. To be able to gift things like this without hesitation, that was something Vesper looked up to - especially since she never thought to do that, despite the numerous lessons on desirable value of generosity. Vesper continued looking at the lady politely as she spoke, realizing that in her thoughts, she had not been paying as much attention to the lady's chatter as she should. She was only just in time to catch the last portion of her words.

"Uh, well... I suppose it's an inn..."
What was she saying, of course it was. "I mean, yes, we're staying in the Castle Inn... Right, Leowyne?"

Vesper looked to Leowyne for confirmation.

Night fell over the regions of Hipsania & Gallica as many shops were closing down. For Luciana & Rodrigo their time was spent fortifying the defenses of Itero de Abija, preparing for battle amongst rival kings. Although it is certain that they will not attack until the daytime, scouts were sent in to track the enemy's movements, whilst a skeleton crew of soldiers kept watch from the city, ready for any form of ambush.

Meanwhile, a mysterious force was looking over at the city. He wore an outfit that seemed to fit more a barbarian than a soldier, with a fur outfit around his neck. He wore a steel helmet that blended in with the darkness, and had horns on each side. In his hand was a sharp sword that match the color of his helmet. The figure growled out at the city, though no one would hear it.

Meanwhile another mysterious figure looked over the Ducal Capital of Toulousa. The figure was a beast, akin to a more feral jackal from a long dead mythology, wearing light robes. His snarls were loud, and it could be heard from the populace as the creature began to jump off the cliff and began running on all fours towards the city. Such snarls were heard from the room of Bishop Joachim d'Remilly, whom looked out the window to see what exactly was going on.

Verdus could make out the castle of Barbastros amongst the dust and sand. To his elven friend he spoke with haste but pre-accustomed caution.
"Please my friend; wait here whilst I try to see if we will get some hospitality. It is still a long journey yet, and some good rest would do some good." His friend of few words nodded and left him to it.

Verdus approached the castle gates hoping for some approachal. A stout man noticed him and in a hurry rushed up to him. Worry veined Verdus's wolfish face for his mind had set that this man would bring news. News that might refuse entry for them.

Leowyne Grandeeny

"Uh, well... I suppose it's an inn.. I mean, yes, we're staying in the Castle Inn... Right, Leowyne?"

Leowyne was concerned. She wasn't sure if it was just her being over cautious or if it was warranted, but on the eve of going off on an important diplomatic trip, Leowyne didn't want to risk anything. Loose lips always caused trouble, particularly when the mission is of this magnitude. Not answering and cutting of Vesper would rouse suspicion, however. She would just have to keep an eye on what she says

That is correct. We are lodging at the Castle Inn

The two women seemed to have hit off rather well. Their conversations were filled with fashion and casual, daily topics. They rattled so fast that Leowyne had trouble keeping up with their pace. After a short while, she gave up and just trailed behind them and taking in the scenery. Somehow or other, as the day went on, Leowyne also became their baggage holder, with bags upon bags slowly piling up in her arms. While Leowyne was happy that Vesper had a chance to enjoy the fruits of Toulousa, even if its just for a short period, it was getting late and the stores were closing.

Ah, i do believe that it is becoming rather late. Whilst i enjoyed your company Ms Contigre, i am afraid we must depart for our lodging soon. We must wake early tomorrow if we are to make good time, Ms Kasid.

Once again, the four people were back at the main square near the where they had their first encounter. There was still a lot of people meandering about, looking for last minute deal, but were mostly store keepers packing up. The peaceful, idle chatter was soon punctured by some rather disturbing snarls. It was faint, but still relatively audible. It wasn't the snarl of a normal beast and Leowyne's heart tightened in reaction and her brow knitted together in concentration

....Ms Kasid... Ms Contigre... Do you hear that odd animalistic snarling?

The day was a pleasant one, quite possibly the best Vesper had in her entire trip thus far. Definitely, meeting Leowyne was a blessing for the girl for more reasons than one. From the incident at the border to this chance meeting with Lady Fae Contigre. Which was why Vesper couldn't help but feel deeply apologetic that she ended being the one to carry the load from all her shopping. It is the great Temple Knight that is with them after all; Vesper knew that, though the thought kept dissipating whenever she entered a shop with Fae.

Their shopping spree continued till later into the night as the stores began closing. At Leowyne's gentle reminder, the group returned to the main square where they had met earlier. The streets were no longer as crowded as it was before, and was quieter. This, however, was broken by sinister sounding snarling. Having traveled alone has its perks, for it has attuned Vesper's hearing to the sound of danger, and this sounded exactly like it. While she could not exactly be sure about this 'danger', she knew better than to dismiss it.

Leowyne seem to agree, her brows knitted together as she addressed the two ladies.

....Ms Kasid... Ms Contigre... Do you hear that odd animalistic snarling?

Vesper nodded, though she couldn't tell if that snarling was 'odd'. It sounded like danger all the same.

"Should we alert the guards?" She asked, starting to feel a sense of anxiety build up as the snarling persisted.
