Julius:

Awakening after a long sleep, Julius sat up in his bed. Sliding out, he stretched his arms and walked down the stairs to the bottom floor. Going into his workroom, he checked on his patient. Nick was still asleep. His pulse was still strong. Checking the bandages, the blood had not seeped through so the wounds were healing.

As Julius was poking around Nick, the boy began to awaken. "I see you're up. How do you feel?"

"Better than I was the other night."

"Good. Now then, lets get you to the recovery room."

Tapping a button at the foot of the table, he released the binding that seemingly welded it to the floor, revealing the wheels at their base. Rolling the table over to the elevator in the corner, he pressed the button for the second floor. The machines hummed as it went up one floor. The doors at the end of the hallway opened and Julius wheeled Nick into the recovery room. Carefully he put Nick onto the padded table in the recovery room.

"I'd advise against sitting up for another day. I want to make sure your back is healed. However, I would advise testing out your new arm. You need to get used to how it feels. And I need to make sure I don't need to do any further calibration."

"Alright then."

Nick began to test out his new arm, slowly flexing it and watching it move. His eyes still spoke of slight fear but also of wonder. Julius watched and made minor adjustments. He also took the time to undo the straps that held Nick down.

"Well, it seems that the neural connections are all good. And the mechanics are working well too. Doesn't seem to be a problem." Julius smiled. "Now then Nick, ya want something for breakfast?"

Alistere:

Leaving the two in the bed together, Alistere gathered his gear and left the room quietly. Paying for the room, he had one last drink before leaving. As he began down the road, there was a pounding behind him.

"Alistere!"

Turning, he saw Vincent running to catch up with him. Alistere smiled and scratched his head. "What's up man? Thought you were still sleeping."

"I want to come with you. I want to see the world with you. Especially after...last night."

"Fine by me but..." Here, Alistere got serious. "Don't ask questions when you shouldn't. Nothing is ever as it seems. Keep one foot out the door at all times. Got it?"

Vincent nodded.

"Good. Now follow me."

(OOC: Sorry for the delay. After my first post got deleted I sorta gave up. Back nao though)

Are you this girl's guardian? What is going on?

"Hm?" Rao Thembal had been staring up at the sky when he heard a strange woman speak to him. "Elanora!"

The little girl ran to Rao, hugging his waist s she reached him. "You're back master Rao." she spoke happily.

"Yes, yes, just a little fall is all." Rao replied. "And who is this you're with?" he asked looking at the woman who had saved Elanora from the collapsing cave.

He didn't really mind much. For an army of Nerestrian tampered mechs had just became unleashed from their prison. Rao could do nothing but stare in awe and wonder as to what these machines were and how they could be used for modern technology...

Cuclainn

With everyone giving the green light on her weapon, she was ready to work. This piece of weaponry was going to take the most time as it is not even completed before. The only working one she has seen was a skeleton prototype she saw when she was destroying the facility. However, it was all good. It even seemed like the engine and power supply issue has been solved, which meant it is down to making and testing it.

{Ecstatic} I am pleased that you have allowed me to construct this weapon, I shall begin preparation and construction.

Just before Cuclainn was going to go and begin her work, Dominic caught her attention.

“By the way, I, er...I don't suppose you would be up for a long-term expedition yourself?”

{Informative} I am a mercenary by trade. I will follow and assist as long as we come to an agreement via contract. While it is usual for mercenaries to contact the guild, i have free reign on my missions. If you require my assistance, i am more than happy to accompany you and Wilhelm.

Arya

"You're back master Rao."

And the small elfen girl ran from Arya to the man on the floor. It appeared that the manw as her guardian. However, now seeing what was going on, she had a few questions of her own to ask.

"And who is this you're with?"

Arya Halloway. I met your charge inside the cave and brought her out. However.... i have a few questions.

Arya took another drag of her pipe before continuing.

What is all this about? I am curious as to why there are all these... mechs flying around in the Woods?

Arya was having not so fond memories of the war cropping up and she would have liked to avoid coming into contact with things such as mechs. Why there were this many mechs under her forest has gotten Arya somewhat annoyed.

OOC: Short post, lack of inspiration an issue...

{Ecstatic} I am pleased that you have allowed me to construct this weapon, I shall begin preparation and construction.

"Alright then, I'll see about building the interior, gonna need space to work for at least two or three mechs. I really would like to see your weapon in action, Miss Cuclainn."

Wilhelm then headed off to the ship to work on to the ships interior. Because the design is two decks, he started on the bottom deck, first thing first would be to build the hanger for his and Cuclainn's Mechs.

"Dominic, my good sir, this engine isn't exactly what your company sold me. You can't see it from here, but that engine there has been modified by me personally to increase output substantially and I've even made it more efficient in weight. Actually, I've cut the weight down to 75% it's original weight, and it's output of energy is now 175% of what it used to be. The reason a bought that specific engine was because of it's size, shape, and features were easier to work with."

"You can see interior design differences, I did away with some things and used that space to put what I wanted in there. You can see there, that I have installed a second and much smaller generator. It only puts out about 200 watts per second, not enough to make it fly, but in case of emergency it uses the heat of the engine around it to act as a heating unit to provide the steam, so it runs on no fuel and in emergencies, it'll allow is to not-so-gently hover down."

"You can see the numbers for yourself."

Dominic frowned at all the modifications Skylar showed him; the presentation felt a bit like a punch to the stomach. It was enough for his family's company to have been bested by those despicable Leywaters, but now this young technician had morphed an Atherton engine itself into, from the sound of it, something completely unrecognizable. It wasn't like Dominic himself had invented the A-100, but it still bothered him; it was a good reminder of how badly he needed that Dewprism, so that he could find some way to get his family's competitive edge back—or, more directly, their fortune. He'd have to keep an eye on Skylar, whether the man decided to join their quest or not; if the mechanic wasn't interested in mass-producing and selling his own engines, then perhaps he, Dominic, could eventually talk him into some sort of symbiotic business collaboration.

Meanwhile, Cuclainn and Wilheim seemed eager to get to work on the ship.

{Ecstatic} I am pleased that you have allowed me to construct this weapon, I shall begin preparation and construction.

"Alright then, I'll see about building the interior, gonna need space to work for at least two or three mechs. I really would like to see your weapon in action, Miss Cuclainn."

Wilheim went over to the huge ship skeleton, and started working on it. Cuclainn listened to Dominic's question in the meantime, and answered him right away.

{Informative} I am a mercenary by trade. I will follow and assist as long as we come to an agreement via contract. While it is usual for mercenaries to contact the guild, i have free reign on my missions. If you require my assistance, i am more than happy to accompany you and Wilhelm.

Dominic smiled, somewhat amused to hear her confirm that she was a mercenary. He nodded at her in approval, grinning widely. “Excellent, darling, I'll fill you in on everything once we get this thing completed. Ten thousand bani is my up front offer though, and at least ten more on the other end, depending on our level of success. If that sounds acceptable, then you have my word on it.” He extended his hand to her, bracing himself somewhat for the unusual feeling of cold metal that came with shaking someone's mechanical limb. He hadn't done it very often, but he did still find it a little odd, despite the newfound irony of the situation given the state of his fingers.

When Dominic posed the invitation question to Skylar, he also seemed interested in coming along.

"Hmm..." Skylar paused. "Sure, but you only need to pay me by helping me build this. It's not exactly a one man job you know!"

Dominic cringed a little inside; he'd known all this time that they'd need help, but he still wasn't looking forward to it. Still, he smiled, and tried to keep up his jovial attitude. “Eh...certainly,” he replied, offering a handshake to Skylar as well. “Whatever you need me to do.”

Once he was done chatting with everyone, Dominic gave the dismantled ship a reluctant gaze, then figured he ought to get to work on whatever aspect of it he could, ideally whatever would be the most painless. He glanced back and forth between everyone in the room, trying to decide whom he should try to assist with the construction. His natural instinct would have been to help the lady amongst them; however, her project seemed the most complicated out of anyone's, and he was determined to stay out of anything which he knew very little about. He turned instead to Wilheim, who was building a hangar for the mechs they would carry, and figured that would be much easier. He strolled over to the work area, and put his hands on his hips, surveying the huge, heavy-looking pieces that would eventually form the lower deck.

“So,” he mused aloud to Wilheim, “a mech hangar, huh? That's an excellent idea. And if it's possible, I'd say room for at least three would probably be best. If we happen upon one at some point, I'd like to pick up one for myself; I've had some experience piloting them in the past, and I think they'll be a great asset to us. Not to mention,” he added with a grin, “they're quite a bit of fun.” He watched what Wilheim was doing for a minute, and finally asked the dreaded question. “So...what can I do to help?”

OOC: Short but important post.

Skylar saw Dominic head over to the other gentlemen. Skylar quickly approached him. "Sorry Dominic, but I can't have you do this part. You lost a lot of blood back there and those fingers are new. We shouldn't stress you or that hand yet. Instead, I'd like you to help me. This ship will need power to every room, so you will help me map and run wires throughout the frame. It might be a bit boring but it needs doing."

{Decisive} That rate is acceptable. It allows enough leeway in case danger exponentiates and require additional pay. However, at 10 000 Bani, i doubt the danger can get any more worse to require extra payment. Consider it accepted. I will have a contract drafted when i am free.

Dominic extended his hand as to shake, which Cuclainn hesitated at first before grasping as lightly as possible. Oddly enough, she had found that most people avoided shaking hands with her, despite the large number of people with prosthetic. That and the man had just had surgery and Cuclainn did not want to exert accidental strength into her shake. With the important matter done with, Dominic wandered off towards Wilhelm and Skylar, so Cuclainn got back to her own work. First off was the barrel and casing for the gun. From what she saw, that wouldnt be a problem in making. With a tape measure in hand, Cuclainn stepped into the frame of the ship and began measuring. From her eyes, there was more than enough space for it, but it was better to get an exact figure.

Wilhelm was quite pleased when Dominic said that, "I suppose I can make a hanger for three. I just need to measure a good space first." According to the size of his mech, Feniks, it stands at about 7 meters, but Cuclainn's mech stands at 10 meters, this would mean he would need at least a space of 12 meters by about 24 meters, to cover the widths of two mechs plus whatever third one they stumble into. They would also need a series of hatches to launch from the airship in case there are needed or to return to when done.

Looking at the blueprints, Wilhelm said to himself before going to start working on the surface. "It could work."

Dominic was pleased to hear Cuclainn accept his offer. He shook on it with her, which actually wasn't as unpleasant as he'd been expecting, and then she went off to start working on the cannon.

Meanwhile, Wilheim gave him the answer he'd been looking for concerning the mech hangar.

"I suppose I can make a hanger for three. I just need to measure a good space first."

He looked at the blueprints, then he also got to work on his part.

"It could work."

Just then, Skylar approached Dominic, and stopped him before he could try to help Wilheim.

"Sorry Dominic, but I can't have you do this part. You lost a lot of blood back there and those fingers are new. We shouldn't stress you or that hand yet. Instead, I'd like you to help me. Avoiding hard manual labor to route wires through the ship? Dominic hesitated as he considered what might be involved, then smiled; things couldn't have worked out better. “Oh, no, that's fine, that's not boring at all,” he reassured Skylar quickly, “I'd be glad to help.” He went over to the edge of the room, and removed his coat, being careful not to drop anything out of the pockets; he then took his pocketwatch chain off of his waistcoat as well, and tucked it away in his jacket with everything else valuable he had on him. He looked around for a good place to hang it, and decided on a shelf with a protruding edge that would be fairly out of the way. He then rolled up his shirtsleeves, and went back over to Skylar. “Where do we start?”

Arya Halloway. I met your charge inside the cave and brought her out. However.... i have a few questions

"Nice to meet you Arya. I am Rao Themball. You may have heard of my studies on Alchemical magic properties. I'd love to hear some questions, go ahead." Rao had finally gotten the chance to break his entranced stare into the sky upon a woman who looked of the same race as he. She looked as if she were form Elven decent, but had the air of a goddes somehow.

What is all this about? I am curious as to why there are all these... mechs flying around in the Woods?

"Apparently milady taking from the size and their self piloting qualities I'd say they were mechs that have been tampered with. You see, I don't mean to cause alarm with you or anyone else. My airship had gotten shot at by Skylerkians from the sky and so my crew is doing repairs." Rao had forgotten the subject matter. The woman's stare seemed to have distracted him. "Ehem, as I was saying I stumbled across a hangar filled with mechs such as these and it was only activated by magical properties. This leads me to believe that those mechs are from the last war, mechs that were probably tampered with my Nerestrians to gain an edge in the war."

With that being said a loud humming noise had come from nearby and the noise grew loud. Rao looked around and saw a giant mech stomping through the forest trees were falling in their direction. His eyes had widened at the sheer size of the thing, tories high and headed this way. A few small people as the three of them would be crushed without hesitation. "We must flee. That thing is tearing through at this direction. Elanora, stay close to this lady." Rao said ushering them to run the opposite direction.

"I'll tag behind to slow it down." he spoke with a sure expression.

OOC: Just so you know, this is what the gun i had in mind look like, but on a much, much, much smaller scale and without the ship docked to it.

Cuclainn

Cuclainn was happy to have found out that there was optimal space for the original length of the gun from its center of gravity with a bit of additional length near the front to add a recoil suppresser as well additional linear magnets to stablise the shell. However, upon taking a look at the structure of the ship, Cuclainn could see that she would need to balance out the weight precisely in order to not make it front heavy with the barrel. Its firing mechanism are all in the ship's center of gravity, so in order to do so, Cuclainn decided to place the ammunition dump behind slightly behind the main gun. While it was better for it to be above the gun so that it could just be lowered via elevator into the breech, by putting it in the back, the only consequence was a slight delay in firing by a second or two. Its a risk they'd have to take.

With the plan all set out, Cuclainn went to work. He needed to make a mold for the main barrel and with a lot of sheet metal around, with her inhuman mechanical strength, they were easy to bend into shape. Grabbing the first of the metal, she began to fold them into the precise shape and angle she wanted.

Arya

"Apparently milady taking from the size and their self piloting qualities I'd say they were mechs that have been tampered with. You see, I don't mean to cause alarm with you or anyone else. This leads me to believe that those mechs are from the last war, mechs that were probably tampered with my Nerestrians to gain an edge in the war."

Arya sighed out the smoke from her mouth in resignation. After all these years, peace isnt really that peaceful. Not only that, her own private sanctuary, the Wer Woods was the crash sight for these people and to top it all off, the Nerestrians were tampering with Skylerkian mechs and dumped them in her forest. Arya didnt particularly care if they remained dormant, but now, they were romping around her backyard. Arya would have been more than happy to destroy them, but.... one gigantic mech was bearing down on them

"We must flee. That thing is tearing through at this direction. Elanora, stay close to this lady."

To Arya, she really didnt feel like running, but the small girl was at stake here. Steeling herself, Arya decided to run as well.

Come little one. We must flee then.

She grabbed the little hand of the girl and began to run swiftly through the trees. While she had no idea where she should head to, it was best to keep moving.

Has your crew finished repairs? Or do we have to flee to some place else?

Julius:

"Whatever you have is fine," Nick answered. His sentence was punctuated with a rumbling in his stomach. "Yeah, I'll have to make us something big. You're gonna be eating more thanks to the implants but at least you're alive right?"

Julius left Nick with that thought as he went upstairs to the kitchen. Over the course of the next half hour using all four of his hands, he made a breakfast of four removes, enough for them both.

Carrying down the trays to Nick's room, he laid them on one of the counters and pulled out a table which he set up and laid the food on. "I think that should be sufficient for what you have. And in case you're one of those that worries about his weight or whatever, I assure you, dont let it worry you anymore. Those upgrades run off your own energy. As long as you have good sized meals, you'll run at peak efficiency."

He handed one of the plates to Nick and dug into his own food. Taking a break after a few bites, he carried on the conversation. "So I was thinking. Sicne you don't remember who you are and don't really have a place to go, how about you work under me as an apprentice? Once you're all healed up of course."

"It's better than what else I could do. Besides, I still have to be in your care for maintenence right?"

"Yeah. This way you can stay close. And have a place to stay. I'll take good care of ya."

"When you put it that way, its the best thing I can do."

"Yep. Now once we finish, I'll bring up one of my finished pieces and show you how my machines work. Then you'll have a better understanding of your own. And maybe, once you've learned more, you may find yourself interested in upgrading. Don't be afraid to ask. Better to have my help than do it yourself. Trust me, I should know."

Alistere:

As they were walkign down the path the two were grillign each other.

"Alright so what weapons can you use?" Alistere asked.

"What do you mean weapons? We're gonna need to fight?"

"It may come down to it. You need to be prepared for anything."

"Well...I can use a dagger pretty well. And theres...this..." Vincent slowly pulled up his long left sleeve. For the first time, Alistere noticed this. Even when they were sharing a bed, he only got to see the lower half. Looking at Vincent's clothes, he saw that the sleeve was another piece that went over a sleeveless shirt and went past his hand.

Underneath the sleeve was something Alistere has not been expecting. Vincent's arm was...fucked up beyond belief. There were metal bars that looked like they had been heated up and pressed directly into the boy's flesh. Two of his fingers were devoid of any flesh and looked like instead there was just bone there. Looking closer, Alistere could see it was machine.

Along the flesh that was actually showing from beneath the metal were seared marks that had been burned into the boy's flesh. The damage extended up to his shoulder and there seemed to be several bands that went onto his chest. In the palm of his hand was a hole, about an inch and a half wide.

"The hell happened to you?" Alistere asked.

"Failed experiment. Some scientist got ahold of some Skylerkian technology somehow and tried to mix it with magic. He implanted them both into me, a human, hoping for a suitable meld. It didn't work. Not what he wanted at least. Basically I have a cannon for a hand now."

Vincent bent his hand to look at the hole in his palm. "I can fire concentrated bursts of the magic implanted in me. Earth and fire by the way. Sometimes though, they mix, and thats a scary thought. I'd rather not use it." He slowly slid the sleeve back into place.

"Well thats fine. We'll pick you up a dagger in the next town. Actually..." Alistere fished in one of his pouches until he pulled out a dagger. "There ya go. Now were all set."

They continued walking.

OOC: Why am I not surprised you were planning on making a steampunk MAC Gun, Tipsy? :ryan:

IC:
Wilhelm began carrying off pieces of sheetmetal that Cuclainn wasn't using to make her weapon. He was planning on using it to make a strong, yet light support so that the mechs won't fall through the floor. Once he brought enough, he got to work. Taking one sheet at a time, he began placing two sheets on one square of the area he was working on. Getting large nails (don't know if they are nails or spikes...) and a hammer. Wilhelm slammed a nail onto the sheet metal, getting it through the sheetmetal and into the skeleton structure as well. He then move to the next part and slammed a nail in. Wilhelm did this for about half an hour before all the nails were knocked in and the sheetmetal was in place.

"Whew, one down...99 more to go."
the Mercenary said jokingly.

(OOC: Short post, trying to leave it as nonspecific as possible so that Squee can add in details when he officially comes back)
-------------------------------

Dominic listened with an attentive ear as Skylar went over the things they had to do, and then set out to help the technician with the wiring for the airship. As Dominic worked, periodically examining the blueprints, he was pleased to learn that the ship would have quite a few comfortable amenities—separate cabins for everyone, a full bathroom, and a decent amount of living space, to name a few. Though it certainly wouldn't be comparable to his estate, it was acceptable for the purpose it would serve, and he could see them being able to manage fairly well aboard it without having to make an unreasonable amount of stops for restocking food, fuel, or other supplies. The only thing it would be lacking, he thought disappointedly, was the human element—servants and female escorts to attend to his needs—but he supposed he could survive without such things for a short time if this quest would help him live more comfortably—those things included—in the long run.

From time to time, he glanced over at Wilheim or Cuclainn to see how they were doing, and saw that the parts they were working on also seemed to be coming along nicely, the both of them exhibiting impressive amounts of strength compared to what Dominic knew he himself would have been capable of. He even caught sight of Cuclainn bending large pieces of sheet metal, and had to laugh; she definitely wasn't someone he'd ever want to put into a bad mood. Truth be told, he hadn't anticipated having to build an airship from scratch when he'd first decided that he would need one; he'd pictured merely going into a market where one would be available, and negotiating coyly with the seller to ensure a low price for it. But doing it themselves, as they were now, did make the undertaking feel a bit more private—he didn't exactly want lots of people to know he would be out touring the world looking for the Dewprism. For all he knew, there could be plenty of other parties out there looking for it already, and he was sure they wouldn't be keen on any extra competition joining in on the search.

He took a break for a minute from what he was doing, and wiped a bit of sweat off of his forehead; though he wasn't doing anything particularly strenuous, he was still feeling a little weak from his earlier ordeal. He observed Wilheim and Cuclainn again, and decided to check in on them, just for something to break the monotony. “So, how much more do we have to do?” he called out rhetorically, to whomever felt like answering.

Cuclainn

Time flew when one was working hard. For Cuclainn, this could not be any truer. She had no idea how long had gone by, but it must have been a while as she had most of the skeleton of the gun made. Of course, this had to be reinforced yet again on its skeleton level before plating it, then cementing it, but it was coming along. It most definitely looked like what she had imagined.

“So, how much more do we have to do?”

Cuclainn turned towards Dominic. Indeed, as she had thought, he looked somewhat drained, most likely a result of the surgery not too long ago.

{Cheery} A good deal more, but i am making good grounds. The rail system for the ammunition and the dump for it can be purchased and installed with slight tweaking. The hardest part is to create the actual gun and to install the electro magnets. After all that, all that is left is to hook up the gun to the engine and tweak.

Secretly, Cuclainn was enjoying her new mission. It was her rare for her to be able to relax during one. In fact, if all goes smoothly, then there may not be much risk.

I may need to test fire the gun however... when i complete the firing mechanism, will Sir Dominic and Sir Wilhelm like to observe?

Wilhelm was diligently working on the floor, not even paying much attention to the time. He never really did, since he would spend hours on end working on his mech, only to fall asleep when the morning comes.

“So, how much more do we have to do?”

Wilhelm continued to focus on hammering the nails down and putting the sheetmetal in place. "Well, I'm halfway finished with this thing here, I don't think this will get done today though." Wilhelm looked out at the window and he saw that the light was gone.

I may need to test fire the gun however... when i complete the firing mechanism, will Sir Dominic and Sir Wilhelm like to observe?

"Whoa, I never had anyone call me Sir anything at all. But yeah, I would like to see your cannon in action. By the way, anyone knows what time it is?"

Upon taking a small breather to think about his future plans for this ship, he heard someone ask what time it was. Come to think of it, it had been rather late when they arrived at his place in the first place, so it must have been very late. Checking the clock on his computer and laughed. "Hahaha, it's past midnight, we better get to sleep."

(OOC: I'm taking my time skp in the next post)

Cuclainn

"Hahaha, it's past midnight, we better get to sleep."

It really was rather late. Cuclainn had been so into her work that she had lost track of time and only when Wilhelm and Skylar mentioned it, dd she start to feel the fatigue creep in. It was widely accepted that rest is crucial in order to reach optimal working speed. She had to sleep.

{Exhaustive} I am rather tired. I think i will turn in now. I shall sleep inside Oblige so i do not impose any further on you, Sir Skylar.

Both Cuclainn and Wilheim answered Dominic's question, Cuclainn turning to face him, and Wilheim continuing to work on hammering sheet metal into place as he spoke.

Dominic's eyes lit up; though he did hold considerable interest in the inner workings of mechanical inventions, the real thrill for him was seeing the finished products in action. He grinned, and wiped a bit more sweat from his brow, trying not to look overly enthusiastic. “I suppose that could be interesting,” he said, smirking wryly. “It wouldn't hurt to know what it's capable of before we take it out into the world.”

Wilheim answered her affirmatively also.

"Whoa, I never had anyone call me Sir anything at all. But yeah, I would like to see your cannon in action. By the way, anyone knows what time it is?"

Dominic's pocketwatch was still nestled in his coat pocket; he realized he had no idea either. Skylar checked the time on his computer, however, and laughed as he announced the answer.

"Hahaha, it's past midnight, we better get to sleep."

Sleep...that sounded appealing to Dominic as well. He glanced down briefly at what he had been working on, making sure it would be okay to leave it the way it was, then made his way over to the shelf where his coat was, and picked it back up, making sure everything was still in it and nothing had fallen out. He glanced over at Cuclainn as she announced her plans for getting some rest.

{Exhaustive} I am rather tired. I think i will turn in now. I shall sleep inside Oblige so i do not impose any further on you, Sir Skylar.

That certainly didn't sound very comfortable. Due largely in part to the effects of alcoholic beverages, Dominic had fallen asleep in quite a few unusual places in his lifetime—curled up on couches, sprawled out on tables, buried under piles of women—however, he'd never once tried to sleep in something like a mech. Perhaps with a large portion of one's body consisting of mechanical parts, one's definition of comfort was somewhat different. He was too tired to question it, however, and he merely cast her a friendly wave as he bunched up his coat in his other arm, not about to put it on again over his sweaty clothes. “Goodnight, Cuclainn,” he said with a smile, then trudged towards the door to the room in Skylar's laboratory which they had come from originally. “I think I'll take my leave also,” he called over his shoulder to the others, and without looking back again, passed through the doorway into Skylar's lab. “Goodnight. I'll wake up at some point.”

He found his leather carrying case full of guns, and retrieved it, then made his way back into the main part of the house and started looking for a good place to sleep, perhaps a guest room of some sort. He found one without much effort, and went inside, tossing his gun case on the floor next to the bed. He swung the door shut, then found a place to hang his jacket, and looked over at the bed. It didn't look quite as fancy as any of the ones he had at home, but it was still a mattress. Exhausted, and still a little rattled about what had happened earlier that day, he went over to it, flopped down on top of the covers, and tried to get some sleep. He hadn't bothered to lock the door, which he probably should have, given the fact that he was in unfamiliar company; but at least he had brought his guns and money-laden coat in there with him. He didn't think anyone there would try to take anything from him, but it still didn't hurt to keep it in mind at all times. Any one of them could be working for one of his creditors, or his business rivals...

He rolled over, and caught a whiff of himself. He really hoped they would be able to stop somewhere that had a clothing shop fairly soon. He'd forgotten to bring any extra clothes with him, and he smelled atrocious. He was glad to have noticed the facilities for a bathroom in the airship blueprints...that would certainly...come in handy....

And, with that, he was out, sleeping like a log.

(OOC: TIMESKIP, for my characters anyway, I’ve got some catching up to do)

It had been quite sometime since Raistlin and Darquewillow had left Stephen and Seventeen. Stephen had gotten an important call, and refused to say more and left. Seventeen was too afraid of being a burden and attracting attention, so she didn’t join the group, leaving Raistlin and Darquewillow to themselves. Raistlin’s personality had, overtime, started to form more, and Darquewillow really couldn’t say if it was for the better or for the worse. He grew more methodical, more sardonic, calculating, and it seemed as if his logical and rational thinking would get in the way of his people skills more often than not.

However, Darquewillow would also note, that out of all the people they met, or talked to, he would always make an attempt to treat her nicely. Even though he failed often, the thought was nice. At his best, he was caring, cunning, intelligent, and logical. However, at his worst, he was vain, narcissistic, judgmental, and manipulative.

Seeing as how they had no way to keep track of time, Darquewillow had little choice but to speculate how long it had been sense they crossed the border of the Capital City of Zyklon. She would recall his “hunting trips” as they camped. It was odd catching glimpses of Raistlin hunting. Normally, this process was done with a gun and bullets. Raistlin, being a Neristrian, ran out and killed deer with fireballs and a sword. However, it put food on the fire, and it filled her stomach, she couldn’t complain.

They were now resting a few miles outside the main city. Darquewillow didn’t want to enter the city this late at night. Raistlin was somewhat excited though. He had been crossing into Skylerkian territory for years, but he had never in his life seen the capital city, much less actually been in it. “Raistlin, please promise me that you will wait until morning to go in,” Darquewillow asked, worried that he may try something while she was asleep. “No worries, I’m not that reckless,” he replied.

As she started to drift into sleep, Raistlin couldn’t help but look at the technological wonder in front of him.
