[RP] The Gates of Tehera

After he was done getting ready, it was time for homeroom, so he left the bathroom, and his reflection, behind, and moved outside, into the corridors. He was a little tired from sleeping rough, but thankfully, a quick finger-comb of the hair and smoothing the wrinkles out of his clothes had helped dispel that illusion of disorganization. With that done, he moved into his classroom, scanning around for a seat.

"Well, here comes the dark avenger," remarked Sophia, noticing Lucius walk in. "Why don't you ask him to come sit with us?" When she observed how pale Natasha looked, she grabbed her by the hand and forced her to look at her in the eye. She lowered her voice, so no one within earshot could hear them. "Nat, are you ok? You look awful!"

"I'm fine, just feeling a bit ... weird is all," replied Natasha, brushing it off and hoping to God that Lucius wouldn't come sit near her at all. It wasn't that she was annoyed at him, but more of a case that she couldn't be fussed with dealing with what other malicious words he had to dish out.

"Natasha, don't lie to me. You're sweating, you're ..." the vampire gasped.

"I said I'm fine, now back off," she snarled, her voice dripping of venom.

A second later, a dashing young man walked through the door. He looked like he was fresh from college with a pretty boy look to him. Sophia grinned sheepishly, prompting Natasha to successfully guess that he was their new homeroom teacher. In other words? Richard Griffiths. He placed his papers on the desk and studied the classroom.

"Settle down, guys," he said loudly, gaining their attention almost immediately. "All you latecomers find a seat quickly. There's a lot of things I need to go over with you sophomores."

Hearing Raistlin’s words, Reine nodded, silent all the while. Though, she felt obliged to introduce herself, albeit hastily,” Call me Reine.” As she said that, she continued gathering more moisture in the air to form back her water dragon. She was just about to move away to prepare to carry out her part of the little scheme when Raistlin spoke again, the moment Remilia moved towards the street.

“May the Force be with you.”

Reine was somewhat astonished, but didn’t show any trace of it on her face. “Same to you,” She responded, with a small smile. Turning to look over to the real situation at hand, she gasped. Mystro had managed to react to the spear quickly enough, but the spear still managed to slide past his fists of stone to scrape his skin. The demon’s successive blow managed to hurt Mystro just a little more though.

“Mystro,” She exclaimed, thinking his injury to be greater than actuality. Her eyes widened, as she knocked her fists together, changing her ‘water dragon’ into an ‘ice dragon’ by compressing the particles in water. Then, stretching out a fist at the demon, she sent the dragon flying towards the demon.

This was one of the techniques she came up with. The so-called ‘ice’ isn’t really ice, though it does look physically similar. It was neither cold, nor fragile. In fact, it was just as strong as a wall of stone. Consequently though, it took a lot out of Reine to maintain it.

Time seem to slow as the icy fist came ever closer to the demon. In that brief moment, it almost felt as if she was suddenly conscious about everything in her periphery: Raistlin on her right, Remilia, moving out of her sight, Mystro behind her target… And of course, the demon himself. Would this blow hit the demon? She could only wonder, but there was only one way to find out.

Lucius looked at Sophia and Natasha emotionlessly as he passed through the classroom. Natasha didn't want him sitting beside her, not that he intended to anyway. This wasn't something that conversation could fix.

And yet, as he passed the two, he sensed something in the air. Power aside from Natasha's. What could it be? Though of course, he already knew.

It was Sophia. She was a vampire? How intriguing. Natasha already had an ally. Even if she wasn't aware of it yet. She didn't even know she already had the advantage. That would have to change. There would be no relaxation from today onwards.

As he sat down, he opened up a psychic channel in an attempt to converse silently with vampire girl.

"I know just what you are." A smirk entered his tone. "You side with her, and you're an enemy of the new world, and you'll burn."

As their teacher entered the classroom, Lucius sensed an almost identical power exuding from this man. Though he was Sophia's brother, from what he'd heard. It didn't surprise him that they were vampire siblings.

Settling down, Lucius decided to be a good student. At least for today.

Noticing that everyone finally decided to turn their attention to him, Richard decided to get on with the announcements. However, as he was shuffling through his papers, he noticed how Lucius had an eye on his sister. Being the representative for the vampires on the Treaty Council, he knew of Natasha and Lucius being psychics. Heck, he had even encouraged Sophia to watch over Natasha especially for many years. Taking this role as a teacher would test him, yet Richard was ready to rise to that challenge.

"Sign ups for the winter musical are now up in the auditorium," he said, trying not to look too distracted by Sophia staring intently at Natasha. "The basketball season comes to a grand finale in two weeks and I hope you guys are ready to support the Hawks!"

There were sounds of cheers through the classroom.

"That's what I like to hear!" grinned Richard. "Now I know you guys don't really know me, but I'm Mr Griffiths. If you're ever having any trouble, don't hesitate to come to me. I'm Sophia's brother for those who didn't know already. But trust me, I'll make sure she suffers just as much as you all will." He smiled sheepishly, causing the class to giggle.

Natasha had decided to listen all the way throughout. She didn't want to interact with her brother whatsoever. Neither did she want further attention from Sophia. The bell would ring in a few minutes, too. She had to focus on getting through today because she could sense it was about to become a lot worse.

In the meantime, Sophia gazed blankly at Lucius. She heard him in her mind. If she had been younger, then perhaps this would have intimidated her. So he knew what she was? Big deal. Then he surely knew what he was, right? And the new world? What was he talking about?

I think you and I need a serious talk, she thought right back at him. And not in front of her. Natasha has nothing to do with this, leave her out of it.

Pharaun felt the moisture from the air behind him begin to shift as he realized the water elemental behind him readying an attack. With the portals around him, he had the advantage, but he knew he could only dodge so much with the barrage of attacks heading his way. With Raistlin back up, he was going to have to be even more careful. Jumping in one portal, he use it to move himself to the top of one of the buildings making up the alleyway. He was hoping she couldn't stop her attack in time before it hit the earth elemental in the back. Pharaun smiled as he watched the destruction that he helped cause. He then turned around, running his clawed hand through his white hair, and walked away from the battle.

Help would soon be on its way for those kids. Eventually, he was going to need an army. He could handle them all, but he knew he couldn't handle every supernatural being at the same time. He needed a plan. He could grab Remilia later, and do something about his Son. However, to attack the treaty, and to enslave all of humanity, he was going to need a much bigger plan than just simply destroying things.

Which was a pity... That was his favorite course of action.

Raistlin saw Pharaun as he jumped into one of his portals to get away from Reine's attack. Using his powers, he created a wall of flame between the ice and the earth elemental and just hoped that the ice melted in time.

Remilia wasn't looking at the ice the girl, Reine, had thrown. She was looking on top of the building to see Pharaun walking away from the battle. As much as she hoped that she would never have to see him again, she knew that she was eventually going to have to. She could only hope that Raistlin was there to help protect her when that time came.

She looked back down at Raistlin, now creating a wall of fire between the ice that Reine through at Mystro. She was happy to see him still standing. Using her ability to read minds she noticed that Raistlin was leaving his thoughts unguarded. Perhaps he was too busy concentrating on staying awake, but she could sense that he was in pain. His left side was on fire, and he wanted to sleep. She then knew she was very lucky to have a friend like Raistlin hanging around.

((OOC: I forgot we have a mind reader! Go ahead, read her thoughts. I guess funny situations always come from such cases :D))

Her thoughts were a terrible mess. First it was ‘Closer! Just a little more’, then, it became ‘Oh, crap’, as she watched the demon hop into a portal. Thankfully, considering the difficulty in maintaining Ice-element attacks, cutting off the focus invested on the move effectively stopped the fist of ice. Raistlin tried to help by creating a fire wall, literally, but although Reine appreciated the effort, she knew it wouldn’t have done much.

After all, this ‘Ice’ wasn’t really ice. It looked like ice, because it is water molecules held together by her will. And, since it is held by her will, heat is not going to be able to pull the molecules away from each other. Of course, the strain on her mental state would be heftier, but as Reine watch her pseudo-fists disintegrate, she relaxed, knowing it didn’t matter so much now.

‘How disappointing,’ she thought to herself, heaving a sigh of relief as she felt the burden taken off her mind. ‘It was more difficult than I thought…’

Reine shook her head habitually, as if to shake herself back into reality. “He’s gone,” She said, looking over to Raistlin, and Remilia. ‘Who are these two anyway, to have a demon on their tails,’ She wondered to herself as she addressed them.

“Are you two alright?”

Her eyes first stopped on Raistlin, and his rather ugly wound. ‘Urgh’, she mentally groaned as she averted her gaze from the wound to focus on Remilia. ‘A Fire Elemental, hm? Well, one injured Fire Elemental,’ She noted, then checking out Remilia.

‘The Fire Elemental guy called her a Psychic… Wow. Never thought I’ll come face to face with one myself,’ Reine literally squealed in her head as a smile formed on her face.

“I guess I haven’t formally introduced myself, I’m Reine.”

Seeing the water collected by Reine, Mystro dropped the electrocution idea, but he already had quite a bit of salts collected. Instead, he chose to make blades on his stone gloves from said salts. They would not be sharp, but if they broke the skin, it would hurt like a bitch. Talk about salt in a fresh wound. But instead, the demon teleported again. Now the ice was headed for him. Next thing he saw was a wall of fire so he couldn't really see what was going on passed the wall, but he could see that the demon was on a building now.

It was supposed that he could just collapse the building, but he didn't want to deal with any possible bitching he might here. The emotions given to him by the girl had faded and he was back to his apathetic state. Whatever happens happens now. But he still had a personal grudge. The brief moments of emotions left him scarred in a strange way. He wanted revenge for something that had nothing to do with him.

He let his stone gloves and shoes dissolve into piles of sand on the ground. The salt crystal blades simply fell to the ground. Now the wall of fire had died and he approached the other three. "Is everyone ok?" He didn't actually care, but he might as well show some sort of respect. None of these people were humans.

OOC: Go ahead and read my mind, I don't give a shit [/Mystro]

Remilia could hear the thoughts of Reine, the girl in front of her. She didn't mean to, but she just couldn't help it. She could hear the panic as she stopped the ice from hitting Mystro, and she could hear her relief as she realized she hadn't hit him.

“He's gone,” she said. Directed at both Raistlin and herself. Then she could hear the thoughts of Reine as she said to herself, 'Who are these two anyway, to have a demon on their tails”. Remilia was about to answer, when she then asked, “Are you two alright?” Remilia, now happy, and no longer crying, was very eager to answer, “Yes, I'm fine. Thank you for your help.”

Raistlin turned to her and somewhat grinned, “I'm fine as well.” He then sat down and put his back against the wall. He was tired, but he made sure he stayed conscious, just in case that bastard came back. Remilia was still hearing the girls thoughts. She was somewhat guilty as she knew it was somewhat of an invasion of privacy. She heard Reine mentally groan as she noticed Raistlin's wound, and her delight to meet Remilia, a Psychic. “I guess I haven't formally introduced myself, I'm Reine.”

“I'm Remilia, he's Raistlin. I'm sorry... But I keep hearing your thoughts. I don't mean to intrude, I swear. Thank you for the help.”

It was then that Mystro turned around and asked if they were okay. Raistlin nodded his head, while Remilia couldn't help but notice that Mystro really didn't care. “I'm sorry you got my emotions. It happens when I'm touched.” Remilia frowned, she didn't like inconveniencing others with her emotions like that. She turned to Raistlin who then looked at her and said, “I guess eating at Shenanigans is out of the question.” Still holding his wound, he stood up. “Odds are, Remilia, you know if that Demon was telling the truth... I want to know.”

Remilia knew he must have been talking about Pharaun's claim that he was his Father. She was scared to answer him. She looked at his bloody face, and his white hair that was now stained with his own blood. She then looked downward, unable to look him directly in the eyes as she said it. Looking at her own fingers which seemed to have a mind of their own as she twiddled them. “I-I'm very sorry, Raistlin... It is. I read his thoughts as he tried to... Do those things to me. I'm sorry.”

“Well then, I'm glad I'm too tired to care.” Raistlin smiled at the group in front of him. “I've got food back at my place. Odds are Pharaun is going to try to attack again. It may be best to stick together.”

She had apologized for making him feel such emotions after mentioning both their names. So it turned out the demon was the father of this Raistlin person. Huh. And it was no doubt at this point Remilia knew that he didn't particularly care for anything. But he wanted to be sure if she knew for sure. "So you know our thoughts and feelings? Interesting." he wasn't actually interested, but he wanted to see if she would say anything about that.

Regardless of how much he cared, he was hungry. He had a small breakfast after all. "So, where's our air elemental?" He said to be a wise ass. His cousin came into mind. He hadn't talked to him in ages. They used to be inseparable friends until he discovered his elemental powers and his cousin discovered his as well. How long had it been? 6 years? Yeah, somewhere around there.

He remembered it very clearly now. They were playing the XBox...what game was it? He couldn't remember the game, but he did know the console. He used to be a big gamer. His cousin, not so much, but they enjoyed a few games together. He then snapped out of it. Whatever, that's the past. He thought to himself, then realizing that the other girl could read his thoughts like an open book. Ah well, I bet you're used to that He thought in his head, just in case she could really hear him.

"So a good meal at your place then? Why not." Mystro did know how to cook, he did live alone after all. "I can cook if you like..." Part of him hoped that they would not take him up on the offer, but at the same time, he did like to cook, because then he knew the meal was the way he liked it. The road...it was a mess from his use of the stones. "I need to fix this" he said as he kneeled down. All the debris in the air and sand from his abilities began to fill the cracks and holes created. "The last thing I need is to be caught..."

Two Hours Earlier

Matthew Peterson ran a hand through his brown hair, as his blue eyes scanned the teachers' lounge. As the mayor of Tehera and leader of the Treaty Council, he was used to such pressure. However, the first meeting in a month had to be held right here. This was one of the rare emergency meetings that took place immediately. All representatives were expected to turn up, regardless of whatever prior engagements they had.

Riley Simons smirked at Matthew, as he strolled into the lounge and took the seat nearest to the exit. He put his feet up on another chair, earning him the raised eyebrows expression from his superior. Riley shrugged casually; he was only so used to doing things in his nature. The weathly businessman was the representative for the werewolves and often seen as the one you couldn't take seriously.

Leon Valentine looked sharply at Riley, quietly suggesting that he got his grubby paws off the next chair ... unless he wanted another one of his t-shirts from his collection to be in the garbage. He took the seat next to Matthew, greeted him formally and looked down at the morning's newspaper. He sighed, appearing to be frustrated and irritated.

Finally, Richard and Sophia Griffiths walked through. Although Richard was the representative for the vampires, Sophia was part of the Council and perhaps played a very crucial role. She was its protector, assigned several missions under the name of the Treaty itself. Both Griffiths siblings had been with the Council since the beginning, being original townspeople of Tehera.

"I thank you all for coming as soon as you got my message," said Matthew.

"So what happened this time? Someone go too far? Need me to go and rip them up?" joked Riley.

"This isn't the time for sarcasm, Riley," growled Leon.

Matthew eyed each and every one of them, as he spoke. "It's concerning Eric. He won't be returning to the Council. He was murdered a week ago."

"We traced the scent a hundred miles south, but it keeps getting away," said Sophia, now gaining everyone's attention. "It tried coming back two days ago, but hasn't made another attempt to get back in since Richard and I tracked it."

"What'd it smell of?" asked Leon curiously.

"Not too sure," replied Richard. "I'm guessing that it's a demon, but it kept using the scent of its human host to try and trick us. Like Sophia's said, it hasn't come back. But it got to Eric and it might come back again."

"The Treaty needs to be upheld," Matthew said, taking command of the meeting once more. "That's why I've enabled Richard to take over Eric's job here at the school. He can keep an eye on the students, the Remoras in particular ..."

"I'm handling it, Matthew," Sophia said, making direct eye contact with him.

"And we don't doubt that, all right," remarked Riley. "Hey, aren't we missing someone?" He rolled his eyes. "Serianna ... just how has she managed to bail out of this one?"

"She's got a lot to deal with," growled Richard. "'Course ... you wouldn't know what that means, huh?" He looked at Matthew. "We'll keep trying to track down the scent, I'll keep you posted. When shall we meet again?"

"Soon," answered Matthew. "But we keep this between us. For those who don't know of the Treaty, Eric's death was a heart attack."

Asuka managed to quietly slip away into the inky darkness of the shadows, using the buildings as coverage. She kept her side firmly pressed into the coolness of the stone and breathed a sigh of relief. The amount of magical power coursing through the combatants was enough to send an involuntary shiver down her spine. A part of her hoped that Jin and the others had made their way home safely. Readjusting the strap of her messenger bag, the girl set about walking down the alleyway at a leisurely pace, she avoided the stares of what she assumed were a few . . . volatile werewolves. They restrained themselves however and let her pass without nary a glance in her direction, guess they had their fill in meals for the day.

Not like Asuka was worried about any werewolves or vampires, they were practically small fry in comparison to that formidable demonic thing she had seen back there. When she slipped in past the heavy gates of her parents' home, she was greeted by the stinging slap of her father's palm and the outraged shriek of his voice.

"Asuka . . . where the hell have you been!? Girl, don't you know what just happened, what just occurred a few blocks from here!?" He shook her shoulders, making her teeth and little bones rattle against her body. Asuka's head lolled back and forth with the force of her father's power and she bit her lip, suppressing the flow of hot tears as she stared into his worried face. He set her down, pulling her into a fierce hug, sheltering her from the largeness of the world.

"I-I'm sorry dad, I-I-we didn't know, it all happened so suddenly." She hiccuped into the lapel of his dress shirt, wetting it with her sloppy tears. Her mother came out next, awash with the overhead street lamps all aglow.

"Asuka, oh thanks heavens you're alright! Oh my baby, my baby," and then her mother swooped down on her daughter too and pressed kisses along the slope of Asuka's nose and her cheekbones. They were so worried, they cared so much, and suddenly Asuka felt terribly selfish. She'd wanted to grab a bite of pizza to eat and hang out with her friends and instead she got this . . .

For the first time, she really was starting to doubt the strength of the treaty. She no longer felt secure.

((OOC: For the convenience of the resident mind-reader, I’m going to put all my character’s thoughts in ‘ ‘s … Short post too… ))

Hearing of Remilia’s ability to read thoughts, Reine could barely hide her surprise well, instinctively reacting with a mental exclamation. ‘What,’ She shouted in her mind, only to remember Remilia’s ability,’ She can read… Oh, uh, hello Remilia’.

‘I should try to control my thoughts,’ She thought to herself, looking at Remilia thoughtfully, as she responded to Mystro.

“I've got food back at my place. Odds are Pharaun is going to try to attack again. It may be best to stick together.”

‘Cool, that’ll be nice.’

“Uh,” Reine began. “That’ll be great.”

A lot to talk about, huh? retorted Lucius. I don't see why we need to talk. I'm just letting you know in advance. Best to stand aside and let us do what needs to be done, and destroy that musty old treaty. There will be no need for bloodshed if you co-operate.

Lucius knew he was taking a risk, revealing himself to a Treaty upholder, the brother of another, no less. With Natasha, Sophia and Richard in the same room, he dared not try to cause uproar, at least before he managed to get his powers under control. Despite his challenge, he was under experienced, but he would find his way, sooner or later.

Finished with Sophia, he casually severed the conversation bond between them, and took his books out of his schoolbag. She could re-establish the bond if she wished, but he was finished with her for now.

Sophia growled quietly after hearing Lucius' thoughts. She didn't care if he heard it or not, she wanted to make it evidently clear that he wouldn't be able to destroy the Treaty. He had no idea of the forces that the Council had. But Sophia was careful not to leak any information. The Council members had some form of psychic protection in their minds, especially since psychics themselves were so rare nowadays. The fact that there was a threat alerted Sophia and reminded her of the threat that the Council discussed just over two hours ago.

But of course, she and Richard would've known that Lucius was the cause. Their enhanced senses enabled them to smell and take in Lucius' scent. The scent of a psychic was rare, something Sophia had grown used to in the past few years or so. The departure of David Remora had brought Sophia to watch over Natasha and Lucius, two of the last possible psychics in Tehera.

She felt the bond break off and she was at least grateful to have some privacy once more. She knew she could establish the bond again, but she felt no need to do so. The Council had to know of this new threat ... unless she just kept it with her brother. Richard was now looking at the class.

"Unfortunately for you, you'll all going to be taking history with me," he said.

Defeated groans and moans emerged from the classroom. Sophia sat motionlessly in her seat trying to think of what to do next, whilst Natasha was breathing slowly and quietly. She was still trying to conceal her apparent illness, even from Sophia. And then came a moment.

"Mr Griffiths, may I use the bathroom? I'm feeling a little sick," Natasha said out of the blue.

Richard observed Natasha closely, as so did a few select others. Sophia shook her head, knowing full well her best friend had been keeping something from her.

"Yes, but be quick," he nodded. "We're about to start on the beginnings of the Third Reich. Everyone get your textbooks out ..."

Natasha bolted the moment she acquired permission. She didn't even let Richard finish his sentence. She sprinted to the bathroom once she was out of there. Thankfully, no one was in the bathroom. Natasha locked the door behind her and sat on the cold floor against the wall. Something was stirring inside of her and it was more than just feeling like she was ready to puke her guts out ...

Remilia looked at Mystro as she spoke to her. “So you know our thoughts and feelings? Interesting.” However, Remilia couldn't help but notice that he really didn't care. It seemed as if the young man in front of her was as jaded as it gets. Remilia couldn't say that she liked the young man in front of her. However, she was grateful that he saved her life.

So, where's our air elemental?”, Mystro asked. No doubt he was speaking of the fact that they now had Fire, Water, and Earth. An Air Elemental would complete them as a set. Raistlin thought the comment was quite entertaining. “Well, once we get air, and some poor sap to play 'Heart' we can summon Captain Planet. Hey... Remilia... Want to be Heart?” Remilia giggled. “No, no one wants to be heart.” Both Raistlin and Remilia laughed. Captain Planet jokes never got old.

Remilia was distracted as Mystro started thinking about a game on the Xbox. He was playing a game with someone that he obviously cared about. “Whatever, that's the past.” He was thinking to himself. He then looked at Remilia and thought, “Ah well, I bet you're used to that.” Remilia was caught by surprise. “Sorry,” she said, while looking down at the ground, “I really can't help it.” She didn't like being able to do that, and then having no control over it made it worse.

So a good meal at your place then? Why not. I can cook if you like.” Remilia was able to read that he really didn't want to... So she immediately exclaimed, “That's a great idea! Isn't it Raistlin?” Raistlin simply replied, “Sure, while you're cooking I can fix the shit job I did on my side.”

That was something that had Remilia worried. Raistlin hadn't lost a fight in his life, and to see him holding a wound that he burned shut just to save her... She was touched, yet worried. Raistlin was just glad to get there I time. He didn't know what he would do without her. Though, he would never say that out loud.

Remilia was now occupied on Reine, who didn't seem to mind that she could read her thoughts. 'She can read... Oh, uh, hello Remilia.' Remilia smiled, “Hi, Reine.”

'I should try to control my thoughts,' Reine thought to herself. Remilia was glad she was on there side. She was nice, and considerate, unlike Mystro.

“Well,” Raistlin said, breaking Remilia's train of thought, “let's be on our way. I'm starving.” Remilia shot a quick glance at Raistlin's side. It was bleeding again. He probably didn't want to burn it shut in front of them. “Y-yes, let's go.”

Lucius glanced at his sister as she dashed from the room. He wasn't particularly fond of Natasha at the moment but it wasn't like he wanted her sick. Still, he couldn't leave now. It was doubtful that Richard would let two people out at once, and right now, he couldn't afford to show any weakness.

Returning to his history textbook without making eye contact with anyone, Lucius began to scan over the pages. History had always interested Lucius, but it was just boring old, war filled human history. Where was the history of the psychics, and the vampires? Where were the exploits of the elementals? And the ways of the werewolves? Abandoned by careless humans who would rather hide their eyes from the truth.

Not allowing the anger that filled him to show on his face, Lucius continued casually flicking through the book in front of him. He couldn't afford to fail. In a matter of months, everything would change. There would be no more denial.

Asuka true to her character, relayed the entirety of her experience with her parents. She explained to a flabbergasted Mr. and Mrs. Nagasaki who sat there transfixed by their daughter's harrowing tale. It hadn't occurred to them that the treaty's terms had been breached by an otherworldly being. They sat in the minimalistic parlor room sipping their green teas gingerly with tremulous fingers nursing their cups.

". . . and what did you and Jin do? Surely, you didn't go out there and embarrass yourself?" Asuka's father asked, wrinkling his peppered eyebrow in deep concern. Her mother pressed her soft veined hands to her lips and pursed them, trying to put the piece of what had transpired a few hours before together.

"No, of course not. We stayed put and left when we felt it was safe."

"Well . . .," her mother suddenly started as she rose from one of the lounging chairs and gathered her pleated skirts about her legs, ". . . I'm going to call the Hiroshis and see to it that Jin arrived home safely. You should get some rest, young lady. We'll deal with this tomorrow."

And with a softly planted kiss on the crown of her head and a reassurring hug from her father, Asuka padded softly up the stairs to her room. She knew though that as she crossed the threshold to her room, it would be incredibly difficult to fall asleep right away that night.

Natasha felt like she was dying a million deaths.

Each time she tried to throw up over the toilet, nothing came out. She preferred to get it over and done with since she knew Richard would be looking for her pretty soon. Sophia had told her that he cared too much for his students and would poke his nose in almost anything, regardless of what it was. But Natasha had a very bad feeling about this. Nothing could describe the horrific pain she was enduring.

Both her hands clenched into fists. She punched them against the wall, her nails screeching down along the white wall.

A small snarl emerged. Natasha cried out, no longer feeling sick. She rose to her feet, unable to withstand the horrible pain coursing through her body, and punched the door, knocking it off its hinds. She quickly ran to the mirror, studying herself.

Shock hit her once more.

Natasha let out a second snarl at her eyes. They had changed to red. It felt like something from far below was trying to take control of her. But no, she couldn't submit like this. She had no idea why she was losing control at all. Her hand moved against her will. Her body started shaking, possibly due to the shock.

What was happening to her?

As if it were a scene from an action movie, Sophia burst through the door and came face to face with Natasha. The vampire was not afraid or intimidated by what she saw before. There was a small recognition in her eyes. She was holding a small bottle of what appeared to be water. Natasha felt herself slowly watching the event unfold, trapped in her own body.

"You can't have her," said Sophia, keeping her eyes firmly fixed upon Natasha and fiddling about with the bottle in one hand. "She's not yours to take. She's meant for much more good than evil."

An angry hiss emerged from Natasha's own mouth. Natasha herself was surprised, but she was beginning to come round to the revelation that someone or even something was taking over her body. But she had no idea what this meant.

Sophia shook her head, clearly disappointed with the reaction she received. "Look, I'm going to give you a few choices here. You either get the fuck out of my best friend's body or I am going to exorcise your demon ass to hell." She held up the bottle high, ready to aim at her.

And then the strangest sensation occurred.

Natasha felt like she was choking, as she fell on to her back on the floor. She could breathe after a few moments, noticing a dark smoke had appeared above them both. It left through the open door. Sophia turned her attention to Natasha, bending down to her with an awkward expression etched across her face.

"I really, really didn't want to tell you like this," she said, genuinely looking sad. "You were just possessed by a demon and oh, if you hadn't noticed already, you're psychic. So's Lucius."

Oh well, it was his offer, and although he never cared for these people, he made an offer and had to stick to it. "My name is Mystro." He said, but only so they don't start calling him 'Hey you' and other such things.

Nothing in particular was going in his head after that, other then the need to say something. He looked and Remilia and then looked at Raistlin. "Does she always apologize too much?" Mystro then began to walk away from the area. "So which way are we going?"
