[S-U/D]Animal Kingdom

Good to point out, seeing as this thread's title gives no suggestion to the RP title it is for. Maybe you could get Jesse to change the title of this thread? :hmmm:

Ha ha, yeah. :D There's also no indication in the RP thread that it is the RP which this thread is talking about. A thread name change here would solve that.

Depending on how well this RP goes I might pull more characters into it for me to control. In fact I might just pull more in anyway, as there is a lot that can be done with an idea like this.

Let's hop to it :sad2:

No-one did. :sad2:

Mine is the only post. :sad2:

It's hard to juggle a million RPs at the same time though, so I can understand. When there is a time gap (if there ever is one!) between uber-popular RPs then hopefully this one can start off a bit.

I hope it doesn't die with one post as there is so much that can be done with the idea, and we all have the freedom to use our imaginations with this one.

tbh, im finding it a bit difficult in starting my post. I am wondering, we are all on the same planet, thats a given, but are we even relatively close to each other?

or do we just post where we want to be and go about our own thing and meet up if there is a chance?

I think we can start off wherever we want to, and we make up the cities and what the planet looks like ourselves and build up this place together.

Perhaps it would be easier if we made a map and then added to it together each time we create a new place or something? I think it would make it a lot easier, as it would be very easy for people to get lost and confused and not know where people are.

For example I'd have to add Waldmund and a few currently nameless surrounding forest towns that were mentioned in my post.

As for designing the shape of the lands etc? Well I don't know how we can do that, or if Squee has preferences for that. I think if someone draws out landmasses, islands and continents and such then others can edit bits to make room for their ideas if they wish. For example if they want to add something that isn't there, like an island covered in snow, or a spit of land sticking out from a landmass, then so long as no-one else has put anything there then they can add that in. Could that work?

The world is ours, and we can meet up if we want to, but you may choose to be somewhere else to start.

Argor has the idea...I totally forgot about this :wacky: I'll try fitting a post in today...try...

Good news. :D

I might make a new character if other people look as if they will post every now and then, just so that I've got an extra person to post for to make it a bit more active.

I might draw a brief (crap) doodle of a map out for this if it makes it easier, but so that we can change it as we add to it. Unless you wanted to do that yourself. I just think that it'll help make it easier for us as this isn't so much story based, but world based. It helps for us to know what the world we are living in looks like.

We could doodle a diagram of something in paint, upload it, and when people make up places then they could easily add them in, or change the shape of the land or something.

I hate cartography, go for it if you really want to :dave:

Also, why use paint when I have GIMP? 8(

Sorry I haven't posted, just been busy all the time, believe it or not...it's just been hard, and by all this time what little RPing skill I had, well, that may be rusty now. :ness:

But yeah, depending on how RPers carry this, it has a ton of potential. :awesome:

I hate cartography, go for it if you really want to :dave:

Also, why use paint when I have GIMP? 8(

Well I was really only thinking of a little doodle that is easy for all to edit. Nothing amazingly fancy, but just something so that we know what things look like and where we can travel.

I've never used GIMP so I don't know what it can do.

It basically is a free photoshop with a different set up

Yes, well, we could just have wherever be wherever, whenever we want, couldn't we? Since it isn't realistic? Encounter whoever, at whatever place, am I getting confusing yet? I can go further. :wacky:

Yeah, that would get a tad confusing though, so that's why it wouldn't hurt if there was some kind of map to build off of or something, you know? :P

I made a basic map on paint. It's nothing fancy because it's just a basic shape for us to follow, and then we can add what we want to it and even add new land mass if it comes to it. It's easier to edit it like this. It could be made to look nicer, but since the world isn't set in stone and people are going to want to make up more than a few places then it seems silly making what little we have look nice.

Here it is with Waldmund and a few unnamed forest towns near it:
animalkingdomworldmapto.png

I left mountain ranges, forest, deserts and swamps and all sorts out deliberately as it would be up to anyone where these are to be located.

So it's very basic and blank, but hopefully it should give more shape and we can build up the world as we go along. At least now we'll know where each other are situated without having to read every post each time we want to see where something is, and guessing where in the planet a certain town is to where your character is.

Thanks for this argor. You deserve rep for doing something like this :hmmm:

Anyway, I'll have my post in later tonight...I have to try and think really hard because this character is an experiment for me...It's gonna be hard for me to play as her...But yes, I will also decide on where I will be. I'm glad to see Argor is so devoted :awesome:

I think I could start out at V/5. :hmmm: Okay, I am going to fit in my first post today or tomorrow, tomorrow at the latest though. >_>' I'll try to make it a good one, so it could take me a while...

Sorry for the double post, but I guess I never posted the bio for Sophia to be in this, thought I did, but I didn't, so here goes.

Name: Sophia

Species: Ferfnir. A race of humanoid Wolves, that have the strength of a Wolf, and the intelligence of a human.

In general, they prefer to stay in their human shape, however they are a gifted race that can freely shift to the shape of a normal Wolf at will. In either shape the bone structure of the head remains the same, while the torso is stronger in general in the human shape, and arms a bit longer, the arm structure being a slight bit different to allow for a wider range of arm movements to be like that of a human's.

Being very Wolf-like in appearance, being just as covered in fur as one a regular Wolf, only taller, standing upright on two legs (when not in their Wolf shape), it doesn't require a great deal of shapeshifting skill to make the change, it just causes for a slight downsizing and forces them into a quadruped stance, and can't run or even walk any good on two legs.

Their personality is almost always like that of a human at all times, though there is definitely a lot of Wolf in them, sometimes it shows, but generally not the vicious side of one, but more like a tame, playful one.

Their fur is usually fairly long, and varying in color, most often being similar to the colors of a normal Wolf, like a Grey Wolf, Timber Wolf, Arctic Wolf, etc., those some have odd, if not interesting patches of fur on them, or their primary color of fur being unusual (though this is very rare, especially the latter).

As for their physic, it is not very noticeable under all their fur, but they have quite muscular, compact bodies, that can withstand a lot of damage from attacks without it hindering their fighting ability.

Even though they like being in their human shape, many people mistake them for Werewolves when appearing to them like this. It is an unfortunate fate for the race, many of them spend more time than they would like in their quadruped Wolf shape to avoid causing such alarm to people they come across.

They like to be around people quite a lot, so as a result, there may some Wolves seen around that are actually beings of the Ferfnir race, doing what they must to be accepted by people and fit in better.

Depending on the environment one grows up in, they may or may not have any spiritual beliefs. While most do not, those who are around people very much, particularly a community of people that go to a church in their area.

Sometimes when, due to circumstances, they must be around a certain person or group of people, some or all of which think they are a Werewolf, they may just go with it and not explain their race to them, while some will.

Age: 22

The average lifespan for a Ferfnir is 100 years: The equivalent of an 80 year old human and a 20 year old Wolf. The longest one has been known to have lived is 119 years, this being exceptionally old, and considerably weaker.

Though they have most of their strength up until around the age of 85, then age takes a more noticeable toll on them as they get into their late 80's and 90's of age.

When a Ferfnir exceeds the age of 100 by much, well, they're basically just good for companionship, getting into any fights at such old age would highly likely result in the death of itself.

Appearance: In her Human shape (not a perfect human shape to be sure, but does the trick):

Sophia_by_ssbmaster.jpg

While in human shape, Sophia's Height is 5'9, weight is 160 pounds. Most Ferfnir prefer to be in their human shape, but Sophia slightly prefers to be in her Wolf shape most of the time, unlike most of her kin.

Her overall appearance is just like that of a Wolf, just biped and larger when in human shape. She has fluffy, white as snow fur, with eyes as blue as the sky. Crimson Wolf is more skilled at everything he does than Sophia, so even her shape shifting skill isn't as strong, as a result her human shape, on top of the fact she doesn't wear any people clothing, generally keeps more of a Wolf look to her.

Other than making her a human's size and technically, standing and being able to move around on two legs, it isn't that effective at anthropomorphizing her, making her more human-like.

Sophia never wears any clothing or armour, she is comfortable as she naturally is, without wearing some attire over herself, warmth wise all the fur is more than enough to be comfortable in cold temperatures.

In her Wolf shape:

Sophia_Wolf_Shape_by_ssbmaster.jpg

A beautiful creature of a radiant white color, and bright eyes, Sophia is basically a White (Arctic) Wolf. Of her parents, her father had all black fur, while her mother, whom she looks very much like, had all white fur, and those sky blue eyes, she appears to have gotten all of her looks from her, not seeming to really have any of the father's features.

Appearance is basically the same as in human shape, but due to the shape shift, is now quadruped at all times, and size is scaled down considerably, height now being 2'10, and weight 80 pounds.

Personality: Sophia has a fun, playful, light hearted personality, and enjoys being around children. She is quite innocent, strongly dislikes fighting and death, and believes there is always another way to solve problems between one another.

When she is alone and bored, she often chases her tail, but when it is dusk or dawn, she enjoys to watch the sun set or rise, and likes to look up and the stars and the moon at night, slowly dozing off as time passes.

As for her level of tolerance, if say somebody trips and spills some water on her, but then apologizes afterwards, she wouldn't be upset by it, and kindly accept the apology.

She has a pure heart, without so much as a mote of darkness in it, she has faith and believes in God and all of his word aka the bible. She is very strongly against killing, especially the innocent, but is against what she sees as unnecessary deaths in general, believing that rarely is there reasoning great enough to kill somebody over.

First Impression: While indeed factual that she is of the same species as her brother obviously, no one hardly ever will look very intimidated by her presence, as in comparison to the relatively dark looking Crimson Wolf.

Her look of innocence effectively gets across to others that she won't mean any harm, and is not to be feared, in her usual cheerful mood she actually is rather comfortable around others, especially if her protective sibling is near.

Abilities/Magic: None yet, but under her circumstance, and with what intelligence she has, it is enough that she has the capacity to learn White Magic, Magic that includes some curative, protective, and just in general support spells to some extent. Would never learn a spell to inflict harm on a target, however.

Brief History: Click here to see some details on Sophia's history, any other finished and approved RP bios of mine can also be found there.

There, I guess I am good to go now... But, it has been a while... :hmmm:

Accepted into the RP

Now I will be including my Ferfnir then >_>

Name- Zynthreo

Title- Lone Wolf

Alignment- Chaotic Good

Gender- Male

Age- 38

Race-
Ferfnir. A race of humanoid Wolves, that have the strength of a Wolf, and the intelligence of a human.

They are a gifted race that are a Wolf sub species with some skill level of shape shifting, some having a more or less human-like human shape if they have very good skill with it or just decent, they can all freely shift between the human shape and a normal shaped Wolf at will.

Their fur is usually fairly long, and varying in color, most often being similar to the colors of a normal Wolf, like a Grey Wolf, Timber Wolf, Arctic Wolf, etc., though some have odd, if not interesting patches of fur on them, or their primary color of fur being unusual (though this is very rare, especially the latter).

As for their physic, it is not very noticeable under all their fur, but they have quite muscular, compact bodies, that can withstand a lot of damage from attacks without it hindering their fighting ability.

Even though they generally like being in their human shape just fine, some people mistake them for Werewolves when appearing to them like this. It is an unfortunate fate for the race, many of them spend more time than they would like in their quadruped Wolf shape to avoid causing such alarm to people they come across, while some don't mind being in that form at all.

Appearance-
Humanoid:
In his humanoid look he can stand on two legs. His ears are both red, but the rest of his fur is black. His hands are red as well and the color reaches back to his elbows and ankle. He stands at 5' 10" and weighs just about 173 pounds. His hair is very soft and just about average in length Under his fur there is a sensible amount of body fat, however it is not noticeable through all the fur and muscle. Most of his muscle is very toned, so with his fur covering him it is hard to see his muscle structure. the end of his tail has red on it and there are two designs in red on his neck and tail. His eyes are also red. There is a crescent shaped red mark on his head.

In this form, he is capable of wielding some weaponry, but not all of it. Things like swords and such, anything of the type, but nothing mechanical.

He wears a necklace that has an eagle talon on it at all times. On both sides of the eagle talon are red beads. He wears no shirt and no clothing at all on his upper body. His lower body is covered by a very loose fitting pear of black jeans with red stitching. Here are various chrome chains on both pant legs and chrome rings. Link. A black leather belt with a buckle showing a wolf howl at the moon holds his pants up

He does not wear shoes and he will not. It is highly uncomfortable. He also will never wear any armors, it doesn't suit his style.

Wolf:
The same patterns in his humanoid form are carried onto his wolf form. His fur however is slightly varied. He almost seems to have a mane of longer fur around his neck and carried to right between his front legs, but that is where it fades off. He no longer wears any clothes in this form.

Again, his ears and eyes are both red with a red crescent shape on his head. An odd design making an X with a line through it is still seen at his neck, but now it is larger in proportion to his body. Same designs and patters of read are on his feet and tail.

However, now he has taken on the size of the average wolf, standing at 3'2" and weighing in at 96 pounds.
1204765527_adowsDemon.jpg

Personality- He will never begin a conversation, but he also will never back out of one. This can give the impression that he is anti-social, but in reality he's just rather shy. He's not too quick to open up his emotions to anyone, in fact, he tries to hide them because he doesn't want to seem "soft".

Although he does not have a particularly bad temper, certain things can get on his nerves to a point that he will do harm. These things include approaching him with insult, seeing someone making fun of the weaker, hunting jokes, and humor about animal cruelty. Once he is angered it is difficult for him to calm down. He usually won't calm down until he hurts either a person or hits something, but it also is not easy for him to get angered to that point.

He has a strong sense of justice, defending the victims of those that have done wrong, and punishing those that do the wrong. Despite his sense of justice, when he feels he is doing something that is for the greater good, he will not hesitate to harm and possibly kill anyone that gets in his way, depending on the person. If the one in his way is simply a mercenary, he will not kill them, as they are just doing as they were hired, but if it is someone doing this of free will he will harm them as necessary. Death is usually only inflicted on those that do wrong to others as well as him.

His friends are held dear to him, and they become first priority for him. He will risk his life to ensure the safety of those he deems as friends. However, earning his trust and his friendship are difficult to achieve. He must know the person well before calling them a friend.

First Impression- He seems like a dark presence at first, with his dark fur and red eyes, some may even call him frightening. Due to his wolf-like appearance some people would either be attracted to him in curiosity or scared away by fear. However his eyes do have a slight look of innocence to them.

Strength- By mouth he can't carry any really heavy object at all, but with his hands he could carry at most 135 pounds for about 5 minutes before needing to set the object down and rest his arms and legs from the strain.

In combat, a punch would do about 150/600 to a foe, and a slash with his claws would do just about 175/600

Vitality- Better at enduring physical attacks than magical attacks, he is pretty toughened up for a fight. An average fighter with average strength attacking him would deal just about 120/600 damage to him. This will depend on where the blow is hit and how solid the hit was. If it were to hit his head it might do a little more damage than that, but he could still be capable of fighting and holding his own.

A magic attack will be worse for him to endure, but he will not die from an average spell. His endurance to magic put on a 100 point scale is just about a 25, so one average spell would do just about 172-200/600 damage to him. This once again varies by the blow itself along with the magic type and the spell itself.

Speed- He is faster in his wolf form than his humanoid form. In his wolf form he can run just about 96 KPH, but this will restrict his turning abilities and a turn may result in his momentum sliding him into a wall or some other object.

In his humanoid form his maximum speed that can only be reached on all four legs is at about 86 KPH.

Stamina- In a normal battle he could last at maximum 17 minutes, assuming he had done some recent activity to already increase his heart rate. At an all out sprint in his wolf form he can last just about 73 minutes, as he is a wolf. However running in his humanoid form would last nearly 57 minutes, since his added body weight would slow him down.

Reflexes- During combat, he becomes highly alert of his surroundings and makes sure he knows exactly how many people, friend or foe, are near him. He looks at a certain point that makes them easy to identify by a glance so that he knows if someone that is his enemy is coming for him and if it is a friend. This way, he will not attack allies.

Dodging a projectile attack like an arrow shot from the classic bow would be easy to dodge. When dodging melee attacks he needs a good opening, because he is not the master of avoiding hits, but he can manage just fine, only getting a few small scratches. Often times only his fur gets cut. A quick jolt backwards is easy for him to use, but he knows the risks of it, so he doesn't particularly use this.

Usually his uses his reaction timing to overpower his foes with a stronger attack in hopes to knock their attack back and avoid hitting him, but he won't try this with someone that has a blade.

Weapons- His own claws

Abilities-
Natures Predator: Using this ability starts with him letting out a loud howl to the sky. It allows him to increase his attack speed. Although his running speed is still the same, he can now move his arms at a faster rate, allowing him to thrash about at intense speeds and not stop. This lasts just about 45 seconds before wearing off. Once it does wear off he will then feel the fatigue as if he were to attack like that without being in this state.

Magic- Incapable of using magic.

Other skills- Speaking the human language after extensive learning and studying. His english is very fluid.

History- He was the only surviving cub of his parents. He did have an older brother whom vanished one day upon going hunting. It was assumed that the human hunters got a hold of him. He also had a younger sister that was 4 years younger than him, but she died of natural causes shortly after her birth. In those days, Zynthreo had to take care of his parents. they wanted another child, and Zynthreo wanted to have a younger sibling, but it was hard for the couple to have another after the death of their daughter. He would support them by hunting for food and other such things.

In his little Ferfnir village was another ferfnir by the name of Xenith. Xenith was two years older than Zynthreo, and Zynthreo was also one of his common targets. Xenith tormented Zynthreo and others by doing things such as pulling there tails, and with Zynthreo being 2 years younger, there was nothing he could do about it. However, once Zynthreo turned 20 years of age, he left the area.

His parents were influencing him to go out to find other places to see, but for a while he did not want because he didn't want to leave his parents side. But eventually they convinced him. And so he left the area in hopes to see the world.

For the next 5 years he would see a lot of the world. Hiding in his wolf form he would walk around human villages, studying their way of life. He had often seen people beaten and/or mistreated, simply because they were weaker and easy targets.

One day he saw a bunch of kids surrounding two other kids outside of a village. Being infuriated by this site, he growled at these kids while still in in his wolf form. They all just laughed at him, and one picked up a stick and approached him. He knew what this meant, he was going to be attacked, and so he changed into his humanoid form right in front of all of them. He began to maul the kid with the stick, but not kill him. In fact, he purposely didn't even go deeper in cuts and scratches than the skin.

However, over the years of seeing this happen, he began to become less tolerable and a bit more violent. If he were to have seen the same situation as before he probably would have seriously injured the boy instead of simply scratching and scaring. He still maintained his sense of right and wrong regardless of what he saw, and now whenever he sees events of someone doing wrong, he will always interfere unless pre-occupied by something more important.

Very nice. Since the RP idea you had you were first going to include him in you decided to cancel bringing to life, it's gotta start somewhere, why not in the social RP where there is some more freedom of choice? Helps to define a character here, I say. :monster:

Exactly. And this will also give me a chance to get experience with him. Call me odd but I consider my characters to be people in their own, and learning to do what they would do in a situation is vital, and that's why I can have some good solid posts with some characters, but then other characters aren't so good posts...This will be the first time writing as him, so I figured, learn to play with him now so I can do it later in an RP that is not just a social project...
