Persona 3
Anybody here familiar with the Persona series by Atlus? Atlus have been on a roll in the last few years, with Shin Megami Tensei - Nocturne and the Digital Devil Saga series on Ps2. Finally they've released a sequel to the PSX cult sleeper hit Persona 2, and it'll be out here for English release in June (on Ps2).
The story behind the Persona series has always been psychologically based with alot of deep meaning and nods to surrealism, the ego and the ID. The thing I've loved the most about the games is that they're set in a modern day/near future setting, unlike alot of traditional RPG's. In this game you're a new school kid who's one of the only few that can somehow unknowlingly exist in a 13th hour of the night, where the world turns still and demons/shadows come out to play. Alot of adult themes are always explored in the SMT/Persona series, and in this one they seem to touch alot on horror, naturally, and themes of suicide.
In fact to summon a Persona in P3, you point a special gun to your head and blow your mystical brains out (to release the ID from the Ego, you'd have to be free of all thinking?), something they're apparently leaving in the English translations, which is a miricle in itself. The game is also packed full of anime sequences, which is a bonus.

I just really hope there's some fans of the series/Atlus here.
