Playstation Shin Megami Tensei

No, the game has to be ordered online in orde to get th artwork which does take the piss as you need a debit card (cash card or whatever you Americans call it), and storecard which costs £3 to set up!!!
A storecard as well? I don't remember that being the case before, GAME are slipping even further by the sounds of things. I think I'll take Ryvius' advice and just get the game in store then. As nice as the artbook would be I don't know if it'll quite be worth the hassle ( and possible delay ) that ordering it online is likely to bring.

RioDragon, Ive deleted your post as Im not having you insult people from other countries. It can start drama and personally it was uncalled for. Just because some companies dont want certain games, music, films to be released in certain countries as they may have bad effects is their job. Whever or not you agree is another matter, but to esort to calling people stupid in other countries is uncalled for. If you continue this matter, youre getting an infraction. You have been warned.

DONT DO IT AGAIN.

Back on topic. Yes Game have gone alittle bit too far now. I remember when the card was free and they didnt do all this order by the website to get freebies lark. Thats whay Ive gone way off them. I only use them as they are closer to me then Gamestation!

Yeah GAME sucks, it used to be a much better return policy too... (sighs)
As for Shin Megami Tensei games ive played DDS1 & 2 as well as Lucifer's Call (Nocturne)
DDS1 was my fave, but after I killed all the optional bosses I sold it because I heard 2 wasn't coming out in UK... I've got it sitting in front of me

Im getting this today, hooked up my ps2 and put xbox away, that was a bitch. I just hope its as hot as its looked and sounds.

Any tips or advice???

i've pre-oredered persona 3, just to try this out. Amazon is STRANGELY out of stock on this game so i couldn't get it today. i hope it comes Monday. but yeah. i like the idea of a demonic school/parallel world (might need to read up on the story a bit more perhaps lol) and the fact you SHOOT YOURSELF IN THE HEAD to summon persona's. it almost sounds like Ghost Hunt in a way but obviously it wont.

It's strange that this game is rated 12 (pegi) given it's content.

Don't pre-order Persona 3 yet.

They just announced that Persona 3 FES will be coming out to the States, and likely Europe as well. It's got a lot more to offer than just the normal Person 3 game.

Im stoked. ;D Totally picking it up when it comes out on April 22nd.

Lol, I already got in. About 4 hours in. But I dont understand Taraus (is that its name?) Do I keep advancing for something to happen in the story??

Hmm, I'll have to keep a lookout in town then, this persona 3 sounds good. And considering what it said in the link on the last page sounds like I'll be replaying it often. I just hope it keeps me entertained.

I'm looking at stores to pre-order persona 3 fes right now. I feel sorry for anyone who hasn't played P3, I haven't had this much fun with a game since like....Chrono Trigger maybe. So that makes this the best game I've played in like, almost a decade.

Gah. Decided I really liked DDS1 after all, so I went out & bought it. Put it in my 60gb, backwards compatible PS3 and it loads those logos (Atlus, Dolby etc), BUT then it just gives me a blank screeeenmmggahhhh I miss DDS.....

I don't have that problem with my one (I have pretty much the same ps3).

Also, does anyone have any tips for that electricity absorbing boss on the black sun?
The thing that kills Argilla and Roland on the surface

I'm thinking of teaching everyone last word and mind charge. Currently I have
Seraph
, Gale and Cielo. My first character has mind charge and last word, Gale has physical drain and Zandyne, as well as hp upgrades. Cielo has Ziodyne, Media and elec drain.

My party is between level 73-71. Anything I should add? I have plenty of items to keep me alive for a while, he just murders me with his arm teeth attack thing (the ones from it's chest)

Last word isn't really worth it if you're thinking of using it on bosses, or normal enemies for that matter. Sure, it does a crapload of damage that can't be blocked, but this effect actually decreases against stronger enemies and bosses. You'd be better off equpping a drain skill for every element and a -dyne level of each as well. Null/Drain/Repel phys works well too, seeing as how every enemy has the choice of a normal attack. But you really want null attack. Soon as you get that, the game will find it hard to kill you even if you skip every turn. I've just got it again on DDS1.

*jumps into the thread without having read it all*

i'm currently playing Persona 3.. and i'm terribly in love with it

i can say this is the best RPG i've played so far, even more so then the final fantasy games

the most remarkable thing i love about it is the shooting in the head with their guns - called Evokers - these aren't real guns, but they somehow are modified to call upon a Persona, i find this quite interesting as this kind of approach was never taken in other kinds of RPGs

another amazing thing i found is your life NEXT to your "persona life".. you go to school, make friends and stuff like that

it's really a lot of fun sometimes as the emotions can really reflect themselves onto, for example when i got level 10 in the lovers social link(Yukari, one of the main characters) i felt really happy i got that, despite the fact i hate using Lovers personas(my Preference are from the Sun, Justice and Judgement kind) but just because of the story behind it

other things i liked were that the full moon bosses were simple, but by no means a push over

i found the Fortune boss really annoying because you have to swing a wheel of fortune and i almost one shotted myself due to bad healing(i didn't set Yukari - my healer- to healing/support and so she was mainly dealing damage because i found i wasn't taking much damage)

i'm still working on the game, having just killed the 12th full moon boss(which was, to my disappointment very easy because his damage was extremely low, but he had a lot of health, making me almost run out of spirit points on all characters except Koromaru(the dog, yeah i use him in my main pwnage team)

my mainteam exists out of
Myself(obviously) using Justice/Sun and Judgement Personas(i don't have access to Judgement yet, but i will use them) acting as a prime damage dealer while being able to do multiple roles - currently i'm using Quatzalcoatl as my main Persona - but i also have a Power on stand by in case i really need it(my power has slightly better melee attacks, though less strength, but the power of the attacks makes up for that)
Yukari - healer with mild damage(wind)
Mitsuru - prime damage dealer with her Empress Persona still able to back up heal when needed
Koromaru - second prime damage dealer and "tank"(he has a fair amount of health and useful immunities so he's usually the last ally to die)

i find this team very reliable, however i would've wanted to use Akihiko as well because his debuffs can be very useful, but i thought i'd lose too much staying power if i did choose him(switching with Yukari would reduce my healing, switching with Mitsuru would reduce my overall damage and switching with Koromaru would reduce overall survivability)

i'm aware that Aigis is a much better tank then Koromaru due to her high endurance and armor, but i found her Ranged attacks too weak while Koromaru uses melee which is much more powerful
and Koromaru's high agility is very useful as well because it mitigates damage and makes his attacks very reliable

i'm really going for a slap them hard, slap them fast approach here while not forgetting about healing capabilities

Tartarus was fun, but it becomes a burden as you go higher as the mobs can sometimes be very powerful.. the "thrash" isn't hard, but the bosses can sometimes be a real pain in the ass if they can access a lot of our weaknesses(dark spells can be a real danger because i'm exceptionally weak to it due to my preference in Personas - i hope to be strong enough to use Judgement personas which are supposed to be stronger to dark then Sun or Justice personas)

i'm currently almost 40 hours in the game, fearing for it to end soon(as my fool rank is now level 7 and i figure reaching level 10 is pretty much the end of the story as the fool social link is linked to SEES)

enough about persona 3 now, i played a bit of Nocturne aka Lucifer's call, but i hated it, the story was fun and all, but the graphics were simply unbearable(yes i know persona has considerably "worse" graphics, but they're more my style, while Nocturne has very ugly graphics imo)

next to those i haven't played any shin megami tensei games, but i'm definitely going to continue in the Persona series, but i'm not going into the other series

In Persona 3 FES The Answer, I had no problem at all that it was just a full out dungeon crawler. I did get my ass kicked a lot here and there, but it was all worth it, somehow. The door bosses got gradually harder to one point I had to level grind the characters I've NEVER even touched to 70+.
Sparna saved me a lot from yelling at my TV during
the SEES fights
because he nulled quite a few things and I added a couple more nulls and your basic healing stuff. (Samrecarm, Mediarahan etc.) Also, I got a few heart items that nulled another I couldn't cover. Taking care of Metis was a pain.

I'm almost finished with SMT Nocturne, I've been putting it off for quite a while, though. I was so happy I found Chakra Elixir, I was quite more motivated. XD I'm just waiting for Scathach to evolve into Skadi first...

I'm still trying to find DDS, and no luck at all and yet most game stores says it's in stock. :|

Anyone looking forward Persona 4? I've seen a lot of things, and it doesn't look disappointing. Except for that Panda thing... IMO. I'll probably grow to love it like Koromaru. :) Also, I saw a scan that had Chihiro in it.

And what about Persona ~Trinity Soul~? IMO, that was pretty much a waste. -__- I sat through it just because of Akihiko. I didn't get a couple of things, but whatever. It's not like you can come up with a genius story from an already good one.

EDIT: ALRIGHT! If you signed up for Atlus Faithful, Persona 4 is hitting North America on December 9th, 2008 for $39.99, including the soundtrack of course.

Experience a thrilling murder mystery RPG set in the Japanese countryside. A mysterious chain of deaths remains unanswered and only you and your team of gifted supernatural sleuths can uncover the truth.
Develop strong friendships to aid you in battle, take direct control of your party in combat, acquire and fuse Personas, craft weapons, sign up for part-time jobs... You'll never be short of something to do in Persona 4.

Persona 3 Fes is coming to the UK soon. Im tempted to pre-order ir on Play.com. Hopefully we'll also get the 4th installment as I didnt think we would get the third installment as 1 and 2 had to be imported.

Yeah Persona 3 FES is out here in October I think - hopefully since they released Persona 3 and Persona FES here (eventually!) Persona 4 will also come to us at some point.

I'm enjoying Persona 3 :)

Ordered Persona FES today, should have it next week :)
