Looking/judging by her stats at that point in the game... it wouldve been way too easy. and her abilities and wht magic.
i wouldve dominated with a character like that, but it wouldnt have been necessary to have that kind of strength...the game wouldnt have been a challenge and neither would any of the bosses.
i like your opinion though i can see your point and what ur looking at..
But.... if she had that much strength and abilities/wht magic only that far in the game, just imagine how powerful she could be even farther into the game. she could very well exceed the damage limit with ease, and just think of creatures/bosses who could go down in one hit... it wouldnt be a challenge.

She was amazing as a boss, but nothing too special when you could play as her for a while in Alexandria. Sure, she has Holy and some powerful Seiken skills, but they're more than matched by Steiner when he gets that far in terms of character progression. Beatrix probably wouldn't even be worth having in the party later on against the likes of Ozma. Most people would probably stick with a white mage, a black mage, and two strong attackers. Steiner/Amarant and Zidane probably. Steiner for his raw strength and strong swords, and Amarant for his Curse ability. Plus his own weapons are a force to be reckoned with.

Although she'd be a novelty, I doubt I'd use her much. But as for the question, yeah, I think she should've been available.

She wasn't incredibly strong. WHen you had to fight those series of pink ugly dog creature she was pretty pathetic. I think though Rydia had a good suggestion. If you had Steiner play more of a different role throughout the game (not neccessarily monk), then Beatrix would have been a much more welcome addition to your crew. I say not neccessarily monk because that was Amarant's position...

i do agree with everyones opinions on this topic as well as impressed.
You post your opinion and have proof to back it up, coincidence...maybe.
Impressed...DEFINATELY.
And i do really have to bow down to the people who are against my opinion. Congrats.
I COMPLETELY agree your opinions!

for those of you that siad that Beatrix would be to strong - think about it - when she joins your team she will obvioulsy be weaker than she normally is - after all during that part where you get to battle with her and steiner she is on par with - if not weaker than him.

That is the beatrix that should join our party - one we can mold to be as bad-ass as her boss-self ^_^

My favourite part of the game is the part where you fight with her so yeah, i think she should've been a permanent character.

By the time you'd get her, it'd be too late to train her. She'd probably 'ensure garnet's safety as queen' and join you, but that'd be too late.

Are you Absolutely positive about your answer. you can reach Max level and Max abilities in no time on the islands with all the Yan. i do believe they give you 1.25-2.5 times more than a Grand Dragon.

I sed yea because she would have bin a kick-ass counterpart to steiner but i would have liked it to be a quest where only steiner could convince her you couldnt kill off steiner because who would zidane have to take the piss outta lol

I always loved Beatrix. I hated her when I was fighting her couldn't kill the damn powerful bitch >_> but, I really liked her as a character. She was very strong and the time she is in your party she's really useful. I'd certainly love her as a optional character!

I personally think she's a lot better then Quina or Amarant idunno. Quina was only good for her blue magic while Amarant was just "there" to me. They both really served me no good. Beatrix, though would xD

I would have loved for Beatrix to join your party. I always loved fighting her throughout the game. She for me was my favorite boss fights to go through.

I think it would have been nice.

Perhaps if you had to acquire certain items across the world (though items you can pick up at any time, as I hate it when you miss items and then miss out on important stuff) and collect them together, or perhaps have to fight a series of optional bosses around the world to earn her respect. Something semi-tricky would have been fitting and worth it to unlock her.

It would certainly have been nice to play as her for longer than the amount of time she stayed for, as it was incredibly brief. She had some great abilities, so it would have been great to use them more, or to learn even better ones.

I'd have loved to be able to use Beatrix at least longer than those few battles in Alexandria. I love Beatrix as a character - strong, loyal, yet caring of Garnet at the same time. She could have been a rewarding prize in some of the minigames such as the card game or Chocobo Hot and Cold.

I'd have preferred to see Beatrix be given a more active role in your party storywise somehow. After that clash in Alexandria, you hardly see her much until much later. I'd have liked to see Beatrix join the party even at least for another short while.

Nobody remembers the whole "mass-murder" thing. Do they?

Honestly though. They should have had a one-on-one match, Freya vs. Beatrix. In the end you could finally beat her. Afterwards you could choose to recruit or kill her. It would satisfy her fans and the people who hate losing to her or think she's evil. And although not Final Fantasy, It would be a great throwback to one of the greatest Square games ever.

I'm going to say no. I loved her, I wish we could play more of her, but to have her as a member of the party beyond what she actually did just wouldn't seem right. She essentially took control of Alexandria after Brahne's death and that scene near the end of the game where she flies in with the Alexandrian and Lindblum fleet was great - I really liked the exchange between Steiner and Zidane, too ("what a woman you fell in love with!") and I think it added another level to their relationship (as well as their respective r/ships with their love interests). There's a certain aura around Beatrix that I think would disappear if you could use her as much as you like - I get the same one with Seifer and Edea in VIII, Seymour in X, etc.

I'll admit to have spent hours on the net looking for ways to make her a permanent member of the party, but if it were at all possible beyond a Gameshark then I think I'd start to lose love for her.

It would have been nice to see her as an optional character, she was one of my faves in nine. She would have been permanently in my party definately, whether I would have liked her less? I doubt it considering I never like playable characters less for not being NPC's :S

i would love for her to be a person to play as i mean wtf she is so hot looking i mean wow. But i geuss the guys who made the game did not like her that you would woant to play as her i geuss im just saying she would be pritty fucking cool.

If Beatrix was a character you could have in your party that would pretty much make steiner pointless, i mean they are both swordsmen/women and they will only play the same the role as each other.

I don't even know why eiko was made to have white magic abillites, why not give her something differant and i know the summoning business is part of the story line but im sure they could make her use different abilities.
