Should they remake for PS3?

HELL NO! Final Fantasy 8 is easily the most disputed game of the series. You either love it or you hate it. There is NO WAY this should ever be remade. They should buy back all the original copies and burn them... but that's about the only thing they should do with anything FFVIII related. The game was horrible. I think you should be dragged into a dark street and beaten to death with a wet noodle if you even remotely thought this game was worth one playthrough, yet alone the time and effort to have it remade.

- Voice Acting. (English voice acting as used in XII)

- A complete overhaul of the graphics (don't just port the game over for the newer hardware)

- Add a lot more in depth story and playtime with Laguna and Co, including Raine & Ellone.

- I liked the Draw and Junction system, but, I wouldn't object to seeing it updated or completely changed.

- Finally, if SE ever decided to remake VIII, I would only hope that they don't change the story line at all, not that they couldn't add to the story to explain and settle some long winded debates, but just leave the main story as is.

I wouldn't want to them to change anything on the story either, but instead just add more to it and go more in depth in things. Definately no deleting though...

and wow...I would love some voice overs.
 
I hope they give Squall a lisp... lol I do like voiceacting in game... but I hope they don't try and make Squall cool when it's so obvious he's such a limp-wristed pansie. Ugh... that'd tick me off so bad if they tried to make him into a Steven Segal when he's more of a Richard Simmons wannabe.
 
Lol, I picture Squall having just a emotionless flat voice...especially on his "Whatever..." lines. Heheh.

But Seifer, he gets an awesome voice, like a Hugh Jackman voice.

Aside from the overhauled graphics, the voice overs would be one of the single most important things on my list. I think it would be cool to hear a voice placed with my favorite VIII characters, but then again, it could be bad depending on who does the voice acting Lol...

Anyway, like I said above. If they use true English acting voice overs as they did in XII, all will be good. :D

But I agree with Bei Bei, we'll see a FFVII remake well before an VIII. That's if we'll see one at all... I really hope we see both *crosses fingers*

Who would do Laguna's voice? Stevie Blum is too creepy to do it.
 
This game isn't popular enough the be remade. Hell, they haven't even remade VII yet!

So I doubt it will ever happen, and personally I don't want them too. They'll probably feel the need to change things and add pointless as I am afraid they will do with a VII remake.
 
i dont really think thers much need for it to be remade. Although of course i would buy it if it was.
 
Uhh... Not really sure it should be made. Hell I love FFVIII, but there is nothing left to the story (unlike FFVII). Though I think a game based on the Gardens would totally kick ass -- maybe a MMPORGP (sp?) will be good? Nah... That's too much. But a game based on it will be kewl.

Because he's right. Squall is a pansie. But he looks sexy and has a sword that shoots bullets, and in the end, that's all that matters.
 
8's remake

Yeah they should continue the game at least...there were a few questions they left behind such as why is sorceress eDea back in that time when Squall defeated Ultimicia.....what happened to Seifer as well? Like really, showing him looking up at the ship was not telling me whats going on in his life........neither does Squall smiling at Rinoh tell me anything either. They probs get married, have a kid and Seifer probs gets Rinoa on the rebound after Squall and Rinoah split up after Squall beats her up ...........like come on give me a clue here! :P
 
FFVII had the whole Sephiroth mystery that was almost, almost fully explained, and so much left to the imagination, everything could change at a small twist, your entire belief of what the game would be, therefore I think they should only remake FFVII to change the storyline, if only a little. I mean graphics are the least important thing some why else re-do it unless your gonna add more storyline or extra?? And beside FFVII was just legendary, I mean the entire Sephiroth clone thing and Jenova and Sephiroth's reasoning, just pure storyline magic, but hey i'm a fan boy so meh. . . . FFVIII really didn't leave me wondering and wanting sequels, so I think they should just leave it at VII, or better yet, just remake them ALL on the DS (HINT)
 
I would like it on the PS2 as everyone should have 1 of those and yeah i am a ff8 fan and ff8 is the best ff game in the series.
 
yes, why didnt they make one on ps2 it would have sent business booming. but you'd think that remembering four characters in the kingdom hearts would make them consider something remotely related to ff8. heh i've got an idea for square-enix, they could make a final fantasy 8 legends series like they could start with putting each unique characters point of view in like put it in the kingdom hearts control system but let you choose which character you want to play as such as zell or irvine, each with their own attacks and special attacks.
 
I could imagine the voices being really crap. I bet they'd quite happily ruin the image I have for Raijin and Fujin :(
 
Well i would probably get the game, but i really don´t see the point to make a remake i think it would probably ruin a bit the FFVIII universe, just don´t see the point as to why they should remake a real nice game.
 
for me i think they should make one, for me ff7 was a already a master piece, like a song that hits the number 1 spot all time, and beautiful songs aren't bad when good singers revived them don't you think? well thats may opinion.
 
I don't want to see it remade only because of the fact that they would put in voices. I have built Squall's, Rinoa's voices in my own head and I think that if they did voice overs it would ruin the game for me.

Though, would like to see upgraded graphics.
