I saw that one when I was looking for images of him. I do like it, but I like the one I used a little better.
 
Yeah, I had that image used in a sig made for me looooong ago. The shiny Red XIII looks sexy. :ryan: And I really did have a sig made from that...

I realize that it's probably the final countdown before this game gets going, but I read through the entire thread last night, and had an intense flash of inspiration for a character today. Still have room for one more?

I'd really love to be involved, but if it's full up, I'm not going to be hurt. I just don't want to hammer out a bio and put it up here before I know.
 
Well, that sounds fine by me, if Farro is good with it, though I am itching to start the RP now, on the other hand... But the more the merrier, right? ^^;
 
Name: Cissnei (Though this is not her real name as stated by Crisis Core. I won't be changing it.)

Age: 29 (I had major trouble with this, as Cissnei has no canon age. What I did was use FF Wiki to find out how much older she approximately was than Zack, and added ten years to her BC age range, which gave me 28-33 or so. I went with 29.)

Gender: Female

Physical Appearance: Standing at around 5 foot 8 inches, Cissnei is above the average height for a female. Long auburn hair hangs down her back to just below her shoulders, and her eyes are a soft brown color. Her skin is fairly pale, burning rather than tanning in sunny weather. As a Turk, she wore her standard black suit, white shirt, and black tie regularly. Now, after leaving the Turks and striking out to make a living of her own, Cissnei prefers simple black pants paired with a yellow or light purple short sleeved shirt. When she knows she will be fighting, she wears lightweight bracers over her upper arms for added materia slots and some protection.

Weapon: Cissnei's weapon of choice is an extremely sharp scarlet shuriken, with a ring of white around the middle base. Each of the four extensions come to a sharp point, and has a hook for better damage dealing potential. The white ring around the middle of her weapon is also sharpened, and would easily cut apart the hands of an unskilled user if the sharp edges of each extension didn't get them first. In the very center of the weapon, where each of the four protrusions joins the center, these is a round hole. Cissnei is very attached to her weapon, using the same one for more than 10 years, and has named it Rekka.

Materia: Restore connected to an All materia slotted in her bracers, Fire connected to Elemental slotted in Rekka, and a Time materia slotted in her bracers

Personality: Cissnei has a very warm, caring manner. She's one to try and take care of everyone around her, putting their well-being before her own needs and interests when at all possible. Sometimes while trying to take care of others, she tends to order them around. Family is a very important concept to her, due to living her first years in an orphanage before being taken in by Shinra.

Though she cares deeply about her friends and colleagues, she tries not to show it and seems very cold to someone who doesn't know her well. Whenever she has an assignment or mission, it is first and foremost in her mind. She takes any job she chooses to do very seriously, and does not take kindly to interference.

History: Cissnei spent her first few years of life in an orphanage, and to this day, she does not know what happened to her parents. Shinra removed her from the orphanage at the age of 7 or so, seeing her as a possible candidate for the Turks. After she was transferred to the care of Shinra, she received vigorous training for her new future, and was taught that only the success of her missions mattered. She joined the Turks at the young age of 17, breaking and still currently holding the record for youngest Turk ever. A large number of Turks were brought in as her colleagues the next year, and through companionship and teamwork with them, she learned that not only missions mattered, though it was still a major factor in her actions. Shortly after this, Cissnei befriended Zack Fair, and helped him on a number of times, including the time of his escape from Hojo's experimentation on him. Shortly after Zack's death, Cissnei left the Shinra Corporation, disagreeing with how matters were handled.

Cissnei chose to move to Kalm, hoping to put her combat skills to use there. The town of Kalm hired her as protection for the miners after monsters took over the Mythril Mine they had previously worked at. She was quite happy there, earning enough to live comfortably on and using her skills to help others. Occasionally she enjoyed traveling, always finding some sort of work to do while out.

Upon hearing of the new problems in Midgar, Cissnei was intrigued and decided to go put her services to work figuring out what was causing the issues and trying to protect those being victimized.

Liking the bio, and really liking that cool image. :D Too bad she won't look just like that in this RP, though she'll still be awesome as always. :awesome:

So, is this gonna start tomorrow night, or what? The more RPers we get, the more likely at least one of them will become inactive and hold things up in it, so be careful. ^^;
 
Bored of playing FF12, and hoping to dodge doing dishes until tomorrow evening (it worked), I decided to type this up regardless. Worst case, there isn't any room for me, and I can save it for another time, so I'm not too stressed about it. Critiques accepted and appreciated:

Name: "Verth" Helverth Gainsborough

Age: 52

Gender: Male

Physical Appearance: Slightly overweight, it shows that Verth has always been an engineer and never an athlete. His build is heavier in general, and at a solid 6 feet tall he makes for a fairly imposing figure. Well, he would if not for his face seeming to only alternate between a calm, sad expression, and one of joy and mirth. Even with the biggest grin on his face, pale blue eyes display sorrow to anyone willing to look deep enough. Lines wrinkle a face from a half a lifetime of smiles and frowns, but overall Verth looks very well for his age.

Thick black hair with intruding strands of grey covers his head in an eternally unkempt mop, and a full beard coloured of salt and pepper is just enough to obstruct his jawline. Matching his hair, all of Verth's clothes seem to slowly be fading to grey, the colours bleeding away with age. His usual getup includes rust or brown work pants, a coloured button-up shirt, heavy bracers on his wrists, and his work belt. The belt overflows with tools, wiring, and devices, but includes a rather out of place gun.

Weapon: Mako Gun Mk II. A bulky piece, the Mk II looks deceptively like an oversized flintlock pistol. Three materia slots mark the plate that the hammer and pan are attached two, and a close examination reveals tubes and pipes running underneath metal plating that covers the stock. Tiny switches and dials run the length of the barrel, and lights shine out from open spaces in the plating at seemingly random intervals.

Extremely unskilled at manipulating materia directly, Verth built the gun to aid in his casting abilities. Unlike the original Mako Gun, which only fires the second level of the three base elemental spells, the Mk II directly accesses the materia (using the wielder's own MP as the power source) and allows casting of any spell unlocked on the materia.

Materia: Fire, Ice, Lightning, Restore, and All. The three elemental materia are slotted into the Mako Gun, and the Restore and All into separate bracers. All materia are starting level.

Personality: Kindhearted to a fault, Verth will regularly bend over backwards to help others around him (figuratively, at least, he's not flexible enough for much real bending). He does his best to place the needs of others first, but never to the impediment of his responsibilities.

In company, Verth is always jovial and fun-loving, and rarely talks about himself. He does his best to deflect personal questions with a joke and a smile, then drifts off to another topic. While always warm and welcoming, Verth treats everyone equally, regardless of if he's just met them or been acquainted for years. He comes across as a bit disconnected, and can be found eternally doodling or working out math in one of the notebooks stuffed in his belt.

History: Verth was born in Kalm, growing up near the booming and growing city of Midgar. Verth was raised alongside his twin brother, Quinton, though by the time they were ten it was already hard to distinguish them as twins. Through their teens, Quinton excelled at sports, made friends easily, and showed reasonable skills with materia from an early age. Verth had little skill or interest in physical activities, preferring academia, kept to himself, and had a very difficult time with any sort of materia use.

As Midgar transformed with the growth of Shin-Ra, the boys went to the big city to complete their educations in university. During their continued education, Quinton met a woman that was to become his wife, Elmyra, while Verth was scouted by Shin-Ra for employment straight out of school. Both for different reasons, they settled down in Midgar, continuing to stay in touch as the years ticked by slowly. Years passed, and life continued on.

Always weak with materia, Verth found himself obsessed with the possibilities created by Mako technologies. More than just a personal triumph over his weakness, Verth viewed Mako technology as a way to make life better for everyone. He studied the previous developments diligently, seeing his brother less and less as he became obsessed with Mako. Years of study taught him the field well, and he was able to make some innovations, improving Mako Reactor efficiency, paving the way for devices such as the Mako Gun, and winning him a spot on vital science and engineering projects.

Verth found himself assigned to many major engineering feats over the years, assisting with design, creation, and maintenance. While never heading any of the project teams, Verth was always a solid contributing member, his lack of interpersonal skills holding him back more than his abilities. Completely by surprise, Verth fell in love with a colleague, Parisa, and before long, the two of them were wed. Already old when they raised the twins, Verth and Quinton's parents did not live to see Verth's wedding, but Quinton and Elmyra attended happily.

The new couple had little time to enjoy their new life as war erupted on the other end of the world. Verth was sent to Wutai as an engineer, maintaining the powerful weapons that Shin-Ra used in their battle. Quinton was drafted into the main ranks of the army, and the two rarely saw one another during the war. The war was won by Shin-Ra, but not without losses, and only Verth made it home, his twin lost to the battles. Continuing his employment with Shin-Ra, Verth fell only further out of touch with Elmyra.

The war concluded, Verth and Parisa tried for children of their own, and had twin boys, Maxwell and Quinton, named for Verth's father and brother. They settled down in a residential area of Sector 7, taking yearly vacations to Costa Del Sol. After several happy years, disaster struck. While helping repair the damage the Number 8 Reactor sustained from an attack from terrorist group AVALANCHE, Sector 7 collapsed, and Verth's family died in the catastrophe. Verth simply could not hold himself together after that, and began a journey that took him around the world, looking for answers and purpose.

During the events following FF7, Verth began looking into ways to make Mako a safe technology that would not harm the planet, never wanting to see people wounded or killed due to environmentalist actions (or corporate retaliations to said actions) again.

Still trying to find a way to make safe the Mako process, Verth has kept careful track of global events, and is now hearing some disturbing rumours about Midgar. Perhaps it's time to finally go back...

Sorry, wound up a bit longer than I initially expected. Like I said, inspiration hit hard at work today. This is the first bio I've typed up for an online RPG in years, so please go hard on me so I can learn.

Jquestionmark, hate to do it to you buddy but I think we're full to the brim with people now. if any space opens up i'll let you know. Really like your bio though!

Will be starting it TONIGHT so that means no more people can join. We have plenty now!

Oh, limit breaks. Decided we should have them, but be sensible please. Adding them to your bio's isn't a bad idea.

Anything else That needs sorting?

Well for limit breaks, are we allowed a set number or just the one? And would the strength of them have an impact on quantity?
 
The strength would really decide the quantity. Very much like the actual set up in the game.

Probably best to start with 1 or 2 weaker one's and develop them as the story goes.
 
Another thing I forgot to mention, will we be following the FF7 Level 1 Limit Breaks, Level 2 Limit Breaks etc?
 
That's kind of what I was getting at before. I think the game is a good template for how limit's should be used, but it's important people don't go through limit's at ridiculous speeds!

Regular RP combat would be best for this.
Also, I can't see a reason why all status effects can't be used.

The main RP is now up :D I've started it off, so feel free to start joining in.

RP is up? Awesome, I'll check it out shortly. But for a limit break...hm. I'll definitely start with just one, like in the game, but what will that be like for my original character...

I know what one of them will be, but it may be too early to have as a starter one, similar to the Level 3 Limit break of Nanaki's called Howling Moon, though for me it is simply Howl, with the strength increase effect, but still in complete control (aka not Berserk).

Sleep is a tricky one actually! I suppose if it happens you would post like usual and try describe what's going on. The best way you can anyway XD
 
And I just thought of something, you acquire the Sleep spell before Silence in the game, right? Probably should have some progression before the materia has reached master level.

Er, okay, well the character would be asleep...maybe enemies kinda make a point of taking advantage of the dormant state of the character and purposefully avoid taking him or her, so what, would I be describing an attack on another RPer's character?

Just don't want to seem like I would be powerplaying/godmodding or whatever with that. Well, I have two characters, hopefully the other will be there in the battle too, then I can just focus on either Crimson Wolf or Tifa Lockhart, depending on who is affected and who isn't.
