Yes, its exactly a week for the poll to be closed.
Also somethings.....
1- Its anonymouse...
add a number and then a sig, then the next number and the second sig etc...
mebers will vote for the numbers. For example sig no #1
2- The poll is not a public poll.
3- before adding images, mention the theme of this week please.

Right, i'll keep that in mind when i make the thread

So, does the SOTW 23 guidlines thread normally go up after the voting thread? See, if they do, i might as well make it, and make the theme Winter - like this one was supposed to be...Unless AV gets online by then - then it's all up to her I'm just filling in

Only two entries so far for this weeks SOTW...Next week, after christmas, I was thinking of getting all the winning Sigs together from this year and having a "Sig of the year" voting contest.

I would suggest having the contests to be on a fortnightly/monthly basis. The last one had 5 entries or whatever it was most likely since it dragged on longer than it should have, more time means that people who may be away for a week still have time to enter when they return.
While a day is usually enough to make a sig most people can't be bothered making one one week after another so most contests are lucky to have 3 entries even when 5 people have said that they'll make a sig for it, some people just don't have the time. Having even a two week wait between them should make a small difference.
Come on guys. No one will need a week to create a sig.
Making a Bg, cleaning a stock and using it and perhaps adding FG and text, does not require that much of time.
I always make my sigs in between 30 minute, by an hour maximum and everything is made by me in them, except the stocks.
Also this time is half used to think what to make and how to creat.
For real a week is enough time to make a sig, even for a very busy person.

If that's the case why don't we have 5 sigs every week instead of the usual 2/3? The deadlines are usually extended anyway due to lack of entries which is brought from people not being active enough or find out too late that it's the next day or whatever. An extra week will make it more likely that there would be more people involved, it's not that they need two weeks to actually make a sig but I'd rather have a fortnightly contest between 5 sigs instead of weekly with 2.
We need to cheer them up instead of increasing the respite.
I already suggested to add an award for winners like a tiny materia (like 12x12 pixels). Golden for 1st place silver for 2nd etc and add them in their profile somewhere.
This may cheer them up. or adding items to their RPG profile, like +5 extra attribute point per win or a component

That's a good idea, plus, it is only recently that I have noticed maybe 4-5 members have just gotten into GFX, and I'm pretty sure they are going to start competing in SotW. I suggest giving it another week, and then if there are again 2-3 entries, then we can consider making it a two week thing.

Is not the theme WINTER ?
The first sig has just the name of winter on it. I see leaves there instead of snow... Nothing about winter.
Looks nice, but nothing to do with the theme.
I have seen this several times that a sig was out of theme but did not disqualify.
having just a text saying the theme is not enough.
For example, there should be snow flakes which is a symbol of winter instead of leaves...
There should be better rules for it otherwise making a theme for SOTW is useless.
