Sphere Grid (Original) Labeled

*sigh* FFXII's levelling system and FFX's levelling system are very similar you know. Both are very linear, both you can choose what roles to give each characters, what abilities to teach them etc. Also, while maxing out your characters you are never forced to max out all their stats, if you want a mage to stay weak in the strength department and vice versa you are more than able to do it. You are also never force to teach a black mage white magic if you don't want to. It's entirely up to the player. That is called non-linear.

What makes you say we are 'hopeless fan-boys' when it comes to X? This is one single aspect of the game we are discussing, the sphere grid, and we are only discussing with one aspect of it - whether it is linear or not. Which is frankly a non-issue to begin with because by the very definition of the word the sphere grid is the complete opposite and anyone who knows what linear means knows that.

FFXII is completely from the ground up, no character has an inherent role. It's the epitome of non-linearity.

You even miplying that it and X are somehow on the same level in respect to non-linearity basically just proves my point all over this thread.

Oh yeah, you're such a victim.
I'm sure one can mosey on over to the FFXIII section and find those like yourself doing the exact same thing.

So that justifies you hijacking this thread with your sarcasm and hostility?

the ol' 'off-topic' card is always a good one to play when you don't get your way.

No it's called acknowledging Cid's post above. And we are getting our own way, look at the opening post. :)

What justifies you and the other posters blatant jumping tactics?
What you consider 'hostility' is funny to me.

This conversation could have began and ended two feet where it started, but your lot aren't having it any other way it seems until the last post ends with 'Ultimaja is a heretic'. :D

I didn't say they were on the same level, I said they were both non-linear. There is no level to be discussed here. There is linear and there is non-linear. Linear is when you have one choice, one path and no other options. Non-linearity is when you have choices.

Again I'll ask you: you say that FFX is linear. Please provide even one example of how the sphere grid forces you to follow only one path and restricts you to that.

We can continue the meaningless venture of the literal definition of 'linearity', or we can move to the grownup's table and discuss it in the context it was supposed to be discussed in.

In fact, I'm at the grownup's table. Join or desist, I'm done being annoyed by frivolous argument.

Just admit you're wrong already and stop making it personal. You still haven't answered her question. Can you provide an example of how the Sphere Grid forces you to follow only one path and restricts you to that?

Where's that example? At least try to prove your point, that is what adults do you know. When they make a statement, they explain themselves if they are debated on it. Myself and the others have provided numerous examples of how the sphere grid is non-linear. You have yet to give a single reason for why it is. I suspect it's because you have no examples to give.

It wouldn't matter what thread I post it on.
Let's just change the site to Final Fantasy X Forums, or Anti-Final Fantasy XIII Forums.

Seriously, what the going rate on anything negative being said about one or anything positive of the other?
The fact that every single post against me on this thread being 'liked' by others is just a tell tale sign. Hopeless fan-boys. I may as well be burning a Bible in front of the Vatican.

I'm such a fanboy because I hate FFX so much. I hate the game but I can recognize a decent system when I see one. Step off your pedestal and see arguments from the other side.
