When you are under high stress, how do you relieve it?

I tend to isolate myself from people and try to work out my problems in my head. Sometimes I even try to distract myself from problems. Probaby not the best strategy.

I know that exercise and talking out your problems with someone is often the best way to deal with stress. And I should really try that more often :/

Anyone could be crude here, so I'll stick to the linear stuff I do in my life. 1) I run. 2) I listen to more music than I know what to deal with 3) I got on an extremely natural place, i.e. : The sardis lake dam at night - Lots of stars, nice breeze and relaxes me 2) Lamar Park - A nice place, that hardly has anyone in it.. just a good relaxer.

4) I play soccer, it relieves a lot of stress
5) Vid games, of course.

I usually sleep. When I am stressed out on something I just go to bed and sleep for a while. However, if I am really stressed, as much as it shames me to say it, I drink my stress away. I know it is not good for me but when stress is really bad for me, it is the only way for myself to eventually calm down.

I like to do a couple of things when I'm stressed out. Usually I grab one of my dogs and I go for a nice long walk to the park. If it's really nice out I'll grab a fishing pole and fish off the dock. I never catch fish but it's still fun.

I used to go for drives at night, but that was when I didn't live in the city and there wasn't traffic everywhere. Also if I happen to be by the gym I'll go to the gym to work it out

I nap, or workout

usually it has to do something with avoiding the problem

when I get angry my brain shuts down and I cant think. so I fall asleep with that too

Listening to classical or instrumental music is how I handle it. Most of the time it works out very well. I just lean back in my chair, and listen to some calming music. Close my eyes and just forget where I am. It really does work wonders.

When I'm stressed I can't just sit. I have to be up and doing something.

Watching a movie or whatever is not good enough.

I usually busy myself with housework and try to get the house as clean as possible.

When I'm really stressed, I need to have a completely tidy house. I can think much better that way. Clutter just makes me stress more. =/

Then once that's done I take a deep breath and pour myself an alcoholic drink. >.<

Good god man!

Stress manifests itself as anger in myself.

I like to take a sword and practice my technique..........I dont get angry at much, being hounded is away to piss me off! When Im tired is a bad time to get to my bad side, the best way I find to relief stress is through physical action, working out , exercise , going for a ride calm's me down.

Stress increases my heart rate, like everyone, but my heart rate increases faster and and achieves a higher rate, and with all epinephrine in my system some thing has to give, once it was my computer screen another time it was my bookshelf, since then I have learned what makes me angry so I avoid it.

No need for masturbation, I have an outlet for that:kinky:

haha

1- watch a green scenery
most of the time works....

2- kill ant
stupidest thing...hahaha:kelly:

When I'm stressed I usually get so angray that I just need to shout it out to the world! But ince I'm not a shouter I listen to some metal and let my bands do the shouting for me. It gets most of the anger out of my system. The second thing I do is usually play videogames or go somewhere where I can be by myself.

I don't know exactly how to deal with stress. Sometimes I do this, sometimes I try to fix it, sometimes I just get so fed up that I don't even care anymore and do something to make it worse for myself.

When I get stressed at home, I lie down for a bit. For maybe 10-20 minutes, and then resume whatever it is that I was doing. But when I'm out, it's difficult. I don't think I'm able to relieve stress at all, until I reach home and sleep. :rage: I remember the times I am, I just try to forget the headache and just keep doing what needs to be done. Thankfully though, that's only happened a fair few times so far.

I tend to sit back and look at things from multiple perspectives. I don't like to overthink things. I prefer to deal with them as calmly as possible. I'll only really ask for help if I really need it, from people I trust (pride ftw) and see what we can come up with. Listening to a little music or watching TV/gaming for an hour or two before thinking it out relaxes my mind and gives me a less panicked perspective.

Also, a good night's sleep can really work wonders for me. I can wake up with a refreshed feeling. A healthy body is a healthy mind and all that jazz.

The only way I relieve stress is to just sit back and relax; whether that means gaming, surfing the net/chatting in the shoutbox, or just watching sports. The problem with that is it takes a lot of time. I'm practically immovable once I'm in the zone and relaxing, and I'll probably try to force myself to doing whatever it was I was doing until I start on it again.

A big fucking massive glass of wine

thought thats not always avaialble and i havent found anything else to help me de-stress...oh having a rant to (not at :8F) someone usually helps

When I get stressed I usually read a book play a game or practise hitting a pole with my sword (not my real sword a wooden sword). I find that those things help me deal with stress efficiently without harming myself or others. It works very well.

I don't really get stressed cause I don't care for to many thing's but when I am dealing with stress I just don't think about it I know whatever the problem is it won't just disappear but I will deal with my problem's in my own time and worrying about it isn't going to solve it.

Playing some devastatingly gorey or massively satisfying horror game.
Dead space for example just rip the limbs of your enemies or if your feeling really pissey.
Punch and stomp the crap out of your necromorphial victims.

Besides that i play the piano.
Emotions can be vented through songs.

Or i try to fill up my time by hanging with friends.
Drinking is something i used to do to swallow those angry nasties that slept in my head >.<!

I like to sit on the couch, close my eyes and listen to the radio. I'll try to pick music that is maybe upbeat. It's fun to have the eyes closed without actually feeling tired, to just realize that you don't have to do anything or your day is over with.

And if that doesn't work, maybe a video game?

When I'm stressed, I turn off my PC and mobile phone, and just withdraw into myself. Maybe listen to some of my favourite songs, play a video game or read a little. If I have an essay to do, I'll throw myself 100% into that, I find essays to be very stress-reducing - I have a clear goal, and can't be distracted by anything else, all energies are on this essay.

As a rule though, when I get stressed, I just don't like being around other people. For one, it's not fair for me to take my stress out on them, and for two, often the people I'm around are either the cause of stress in the first place, or they just make me even more stressed. I just need to be by myself to calm down.

When I was younger, when I got ridiculously stressed, I'd throw temper tantrums - with crying and throwing stuff around too. Although I grew out of that, I'm still prone to crying if I get stupidly worked up over something, but that hasn't happened for quite some time.
