There is Rule of Cool and then there is just failure.

Some things look cool despite being impractical so you excuse it. THen some things just are so ridiculous and lame you can't excuse them.

For some, it is the Gunblade. For me, it has always been this monstrosity.

It doesn't make any sense as a sword and it doesn't look cool. God why did they have to re-use that design in X-2?

Anyway, what weapons do you think are just lame?

The nail bat. That was just silly and cheap looking. The other novelty weapons were cool and I loved Cid's mop. The nail bat just didn't do it for me. And what was it doing in the temple of the ancients!

Wakka's Balls. Some of them have metal spikes going all around the edges, he's liable to slice his hands off catching them again, assuming he can even throw them far enough and hard enough to make contact at all...
Then there are the other, plain ones that look as though they'd just pop if they came into contact with anything. The damage output for them is absolutely terrifying, as well...

All of Cloud's swords. They're much to big for even a Mako enhanced human to wield as far as I can believe.

Not to mention Lulu's Moogles. They must all be robots... which forces me to question all other Moogles and Cactuar throughout the FF universe.

And I never understood the feathers for Red XIII.

And because I'm addicted to XI, Great Swords. None of them are good in any way. Well, except Deathbringer.

Edit: Found a few more.

Bomb Arm. Yes... The arm of the famous FF monster Bomb.

Tathlum. I'm going to throw just the arrowhead at you.

Astragalos. Falls into Wakka's weapons, but a box instead of a ball.

Eggs. Yes........ Eggs. Although, you shouldn't use this as a weapon, honestly...

Bags. Same as eggs... Note: Not big enough to shove people in.

Bailathorn. A needle that increases ranged accuracy... Yes, a needle. When you don't want to throw it... And you can only equip it or a ranged weapon, not both. 'Cept boomerangs, which give a crap load of ranged accuracy on their own.

You know what... All of FFXI's weapons are just weird. Okay?

Lulu's moogles and Cait Sith's...megaphones or whatever. The plushy pink stuffed toy does most of the damage with what seems to be hand to hand melee style pounding so where does the megaphone thing come in?

Wakka's weapons from FFX are horrible. There is no reason why it would always come back after throwing it at an enemy. It looks particularly horrid when you fight Sin's fin early in the game.

Also agreed with earlier posts about Cait Sith's megaphones, but then again, everything about that character is absurd; I never use him anyways.

I thought in FFXII the sword of kings was lame. Not of the way how it looked. But i thought it was a special weapon and thinking that must do a lot of damage. But when i got the weapon it did even less damage then the weapons i already had, so i was a bit disapointed to that.

Rinoa's weapon. It just doesn't make any damn sense to me.. /: And how she shoots her dog off of her weapon, LOL. I never got that.

The worst weapon for me were cait siths bells they were just weird and in my opinion i felt it was useless i mean they could have come up with something more creative, than bells and megaphones..

This so hard. His balls are so retarded, but it's to the point where it just makes me laugh.
I remember first playing FFX and wondering if Wakka used his ball because he had no other weapon, and I kind of expected him to get a real one once we got to Besaid.

lol Wakka's balls

If I were to say how dumb the weapons are by being realistic about them, I would have a lot to say. The only weapons I can think of off hand would be that gunblade thing in FFVIII. It is a pretty BA sword/gun but I dont think it would be very efficient. :gonk:

LOL, Cid's mop. I forgot about that. LOVED that one.

I'll go with Cait Sith's Megaphone. It was absolutely retarded looking. No detail whatsoever if you ask me. It was just a different coloured pixel blob each time. o_O

Not to mention I didn't like Cait Sith's stuff period. -.- Cough death cough.

But yeah... His Megaphone was just utterly retarded in my opinion.

It would be pretty awesome to have one, but I think if you slash someone with that sword they are going to die or lose something or if you shoot them, same thing, haha, maybe double the pain when you have both, favorite weapon though...

....anyways, Hopes boomer rang is sensless and Vanille 3 prong antler type of weapon, what the hell is that thing, I don't get it really

For me, it has gotta be Cait Sith's megaphone. He doesn't even use it as a weapon. I presume it exists simply to control the giant moogle, because the actual attack only consists of the moogle Hulk-slamming the opposition with his hands. Ugh.

Any weapon that belonged to: Wakka, Cait Sith, Hope, Vanille, Red XIII, and Cid's mop.

I liked the nail bat, though. That thing put in work!

Speaking of umbrella, the one zack got in Crisis Core. Not the fact that its an umbrella (It was a huge parasol so some damage might be there), but the fact that it had the same damage rating as his Buster Sword. Now that is stupid.

them measures in FFXII, seriously, what was the fucking point? I don't like staffs that have positive status affects aswell, because i get lazy from time to time - forget and end up doing the enemy a favour :hmph:

I know what you mean there, there was a weapon in IX I had to equip Garnet with so that she could learn something specific, the healing rod. But I kept forgetting it heals people and every time I made her attack the enemy she'd heal it and I'd be like :rage:

Other than that, Lulu's moogles in X were pretty useless... I know she was designed for black magic but still... they were appalling.
