[SU/D] Final Fantasy IX: Scars of Terra (Remake)

Due to unforeseen circumstances (obviously noted by the missing RP thread), the RP will not be available until sometime around the weekend. I apologize for any inconvenience.

I was hiding in the shadows for months to see if some RP's I would want to join would spring up. And of course when I decide to give up, a cool RP pops up, completely hidden from my sight ... it's probably a tad bit too late to join this, isn't it?

Oh well, good luck with it lads ;)

Since I've received word that the RP section will be delayed in coming back, I will reopen the option for new character bios, to extend until either April 30th or when the RP comes back (whichever comes second), and the acceptance of bios will be extended until a later date as well. Therefore, if you still wish to join the RP, you may still do so.

Work in progress! Just putting it here so that if you notice anything that you don't like, just let me know. (I wil probably make another character soon after. A dwarf from Condie Petie)

Name: John Bridges

Age: 32

DOB: April 27th

Race: Human

Gender: Male

Citizenship: Double citizenship. Lindblumian by birth and included in the Lindblum's Hall of Fame; Alexandrian by choice (for tax discounts in Treno). (Rumoured to have a fake passport of both Daguerro and Ipsen, for business reasons).

Appearance:

From top to toe a what you would call a perfect idol. Standing tall at 1.80m, lean upright bust, a well-built chest complimented by his perfect photo-shopped six-pack, he fits the descriptions of both a hero and a villain. His fists are big enough to catch ones attention yet somehow smooth and gracious, pleasant to look at. His hands are muscular, elbows wide, his legs long and strong. His face, what is often considered his biggest fault by many of his critics, is so perfect that it has no distinct features to recall him by. A perfectly sized straight nose, long well-drawn girlish eyelashes along with thin yet equal well-mantained eyebrows complimenting his reflective light lagoon-blue eyes. His cheeks are round and smooth, but not enough as to make his face look chubby. His jaw is well featured, adding to his masculine look yet not contradicting the gracious smooth image of his. His haircut is a class above all, cared for by the best in Gaia. Slightly upward bangs, his complicated ever so slightly spiked curly’ish light blue hair is full of complex textures. While he does have a tendency to try different haircuts, his favourite by far is his current. Medium in length, slightly longer on top than on the sides, yet still long enough on the sides to add texture and complexity. By the point the hair reaches his eyes, its short enough to reveal his smooth ears that are in balance perfect relationship with the size of his head. A fascinating deep ocean-blue sapphire hangs from his left ear. At times he wears a fine feather or two in his hair, similar to what Kuja had.

His skin is slightly tanned to appeal to many, but still pale enough to be in harmony with his light blue hair.
In general, one would guess that he is in his early twenties at most. This effect is amplified by the trendy, fresh and often colourful clothes worn by him. More frequent than not he wears what he calls a new course in fashion, black jeans along with a white/blue’ish, simple shirt accompanied by golden linings. The sleeves are nought but reeled up, revealing his slightly tanned smooth-skinned thick hands. On top of the buttoned white shirt, he wears a linen grey vest that’s black on the back, tightly buttoned around his body to emphasize his broad chest. His shoes are trendy white leather boots, resembling those of cowboys’ by shape, but shorter, rounder and closer around the feet, with laces on top.
If one would meet him for the first time, s/he would be taken aback by the seemingly so elegant and gentle atmosphere that at times can be so overwhelming and powerful, almost frosty.
A smile on his face is so natural that one would think that something is amiss if he would be seen without it. His eyes are almost always wide-open, boasting with their light blue colour. His perfume is of the finest sort, woody notes on tops of fine apple on the background of spring. While his handshakes are strong and reassuring, the skin is soft and pleasant to feel against yours. If in a hurry, he walks with his head high up in the air, full of confidence, at a fast pace with long steps. However he prefers to stroll slowly, taking in everything that the surroundings offer. At times, when he is lost in his thoughts, he looks like a little kid in a candy shop. He has a bad habit of making faces to express emotions, which is both loved and hated by her fans.

Personality:

John is a bit of an extravert, especially when compared to his two brothers. In regard to his brothers, John tends to be more of an opposite. Far from arrogant, he is much more down to earth than his siblings, especially as he does not consider money the solution for everything. This, however, does not mean that he doesn't understand how valuable and powerful money can be. Chilled and calm in nature, it’s rare for him to lose his temper, but sudden outbursts may happen. Friendly, cheerful and very social, he could easily talk anyone to death. Seemingly honest. Intelligent by no doubt, he is completely aware of his manipulative skills and thus is willing to use them. Considering how supportive, fetching and “lady” like he is, John is a big ladies man. While changing girls more often than socks, he is still very respectful to them, often sending gifts and letters even after leaving them. A little spoilt, but as a enjoyer and a slight bohemian he can handle much more than an average aristocrat. Never says no to a good drink. Is keen of chocobos.

Bottom line- John is a friendly hedonist, who has his own distinct ways that can, at times, be considered slightly weird.

Deep inside: he is a clever, very ambitious man aiming much higher than his father. Has chosen/developed no alignment, but can easily swap from a good lad to an evil villain if that would bring him closer to his dreams. Has a lot of “little” secrets.

Class: Sharpshooter/Chemist

Abilities: John Bridges is a completely normal human without any distinct capabilities or abilities. There’s no magic running in his veins nor does he have inhuman reflexes. While he is physically fit (high endurance), has a well built muscular body and is quick, he has only received a few years of sword training, for the sake of acts that require duels or fights.
When it comes to his choice of weapon, a crossbow would do suffice. His near-perfect eye sight and calm, clear mind along with stable hands makes him a rather steady shot, but only within the limitations of the crossbow.
While completely lacking magical powers, he is wealthy enough to afford and use rarest of the accessories that can grant him temporary powers. The only potions he carries around with him are the potion of invisibility and float, to be able to avoid chasing followers and fans. Both potions contain enough liquid for three to four doses.

He is a semi-professional hobby chocobo rider, capable of taming younger yellow chocobos.

Trance: Has no trance whatsoever. Instead, if in a dire stressful situation, the effect of potions on him increases.

Weapon: A little, very well crafted dagger hidden under his shirt. The handle is made of dragonbone and the blade of the finest mithril found in Gaia. His initials are carved on the blade. The sheath is made of fine dragonscale. A sapphire decorates the bottom of the handle, making the dagger very valuable.

Has no crossbow in the beginning of the story, however he would buy one if the need would arise.

Accessories:

Sapphire earring: a rectangular sapphire hanging on a short silver chain. Extremely valuable. Enhanced to boost the wearers resistance to magic.

Bio:

John Bridges is the third and the youngest son in the aristocratic family of Elisa and Robert Bridges.

Robert Bridges is, without any doubt, the richest industrialist in Lindblum known for being an aggressive risk taker. His most ridiculous act was pictured in the famous theatre show (by John Bridges): “Becoming a beggar just to make a million”. Days after the sack of Lindblum, he sold all of his properties and took on a gigantic loan just so he could build a steam-engine factory that at the time seemed to serve no purpose at all. The former wealthy aristocrat had become the official fool of Lindblum, finding no customers for months and being forced to beg for money from Lowell and his old friends. However, soon after, he signed a deal with the Regent to produce the engine for the second successful steam-powered airship, Hilda Garde III. From that day onwards, Robert Bridges has virtually monopolized the production of steam-powered engines and expanded to many a field of business. He owns a good share of the Dali’s engine factory and of the airship dock, where his company has recently started to construct airships for private customers.
Last but not least, he was (and many believe that he still is) one of the main investors in the Forgotten Continent. It is rumoured that he was funding the civil war in Oeilvert and has been selling airships to them afterwards. The rumours are being dismissed by the Regency of Lindblum, who has been keeping a close eye on him.

Elisa Bridges is an Alexandrian noble married to Robert Bridges. Her parents were one of the many investors who bought cheap property in Lindblum after the attack on it. Selling them a decade later at worst quadrupled the initial investments. Inheriting the fortune of her parents, Elisa Bridges added a substantial amount of wealth to the Bridges family.

John Bridges elder brother, Lowell Bridges, was “The Celebrity” of the last two decades, just recently having been overthrown by the fame of his youngest brother, John. While a huge success from his early years on as an actor in Lindblum, where he has remained as bright a star, Lowell never felt the need to expand his audience to other cities, only occasionally visiting Alexandria and Treno. This decision proved fatal to his competition with his youngest brother, John, who realized the potential and made a good use of being a travelling actor.

The middle brother of John and Lowell Bridges is Henry Bridges, known as “the Gambler”. While he has played a big part in his father’s deals, he has set up his own gambling franchise. Bridge to Fortune is the biggest casino in Gaia, being located in Treno next to the Bridges Racing Grand Arena. It’s the hub of betting on Tetra Master and Chocobo Grand Prix. Henry Bridge is also the owner of most of Treno’s “underground” fighting pits, where beasts are made fight beasts. It’s rumoured that the elite has access to the pits where humans are made to fight against beasts. Supposedly a big part of Henry’s profit comes from the cuts on bets made on those hidden/secret fights.

As one might see, John had quite much to live up to. Being ten years younger than his eldest brother, John became an actor at a the peak of Lowell’s career, a year after the events of FF IX. While his good looks and natural talent did aid his progress, his early success was mainly owed to his brother. After a year in Lindblum, he became fed up of being regarded as the “little” brother of Lowell and thus left Lindblum to join Tantalus, a travelling group. Within mere two years, John had become a huge success. Another year went by and there wasn’t a young girl in Alexandria, Treno, Daguerro or Madain Sari who hadn’t fallen in love with him. The young Bridges broke his ties with Tantalus (except for taking part of the annual show "I Want to Be Your Canary" till this day) and started his own group. While the competition with Tantalus and other similar gangs was tough, his father’s funds along with the rising demand for entertainment helped his group “Costa De Sol” become the number one in the whole Gaia with about three years. During the period Costa De Sol theatres where built all around the Gaia, with the biggest ones being in Alexandria, Treno and Daguerro. In fact the theatre in Treno, called the Bridge to Costa De Sol is the biggest theatre in the world.
But John’s success didn’t stop there. He reached far and wide, especially when it came to his favourite "hobby", Tetra Master. He can boast with four Tetra Master Grand Championship titles of which three were consecutive, being the only known person to have achieved this. Hugely thanks to his ability and reason to use his fame to promote Tetra Master, its popularity doubled over the last decade. Furthermore, his father, as a gift for John’s 25[SUP]th[/SUP] birthday, built the ever so popular Grand Halls of Tetra Master in Lindblum, Ipsen and Treno, where people gather form all around the Gaia to try their hand at the tournaments, of which some are hosted daily.
Over the past couple of years, John has stood down from many of the acts of Costa De Sol, to the extent that he only participates in the annual shows of the group in great festivals, such as the acts they play during the Festival of the Hunt. As a substitute for acting he has started to take part in his father’s businesses.
Last but not least, he has taken a liking for the Chocobo Grand Prix, having set up his own team called “Bridges Racing” five years prior to the start of this of this RP. “Bridges Racing” home arena is in Treno, known to fit up to ten thousand spectators, making it the biggest ever. It's the most frequently visited arena and the team has become one of the most popular teams in Gaia. Many of the best breeders and riders have signed with them. However the team still has to win its first grand title. They are expected to do so this season, but the same went for previous two seasons where they were the favorites.
While John himself is more often regarded as a second rate rider, he/his chocobo finished fifth last season and got their first Grand Prix stage victory in the opening race of this season.

Oh and he has two sisters. The older sister, who is 35, is married to an ex-Alexandrian noble, who is now an influential merchant and politican in Daguerro. They have two sons. The younger sister is 27, wickedly beautiful and single.

-------------------------------------------------
Is the history fine? I came up with a lot of stuff that their family built that might not be accepted in your realm. Let me know if I should change anything.

Oh and a question. Chocobo Grand Prix is with riders or without? Or both? :P

EDIT: Almost finished :P If it's good enough, you can accept it :D I might tinker a little with it, but the basics are set.

Name: Yuri

Age: 44

Race: Human

Gender: Male

Appearance: Yuri is bald save for a small goatee which is a brown colour. His eyes are a cold, ice blue colour and he has no eyebrows. On his head are several symbols of unknown origin, printed in black ink. He would normally wear a brown double breasted long coat that sweeps down past his knees. Underneath is a plain set of clothes. He always wears a pair of brown leather gloves.

Personality: Yuri is cold, manipulative and rarely looks out for anything other than his own interests. To achieve his aims, Yuri will blanket his true intent under a façade of amiability and geniality. Whatever caused this hard personality is unknown to everyone but Yuri, and it is unlikely he would confide in anyone.

Class: Sage

Weapon: Physic Amplifier: A Small device that increases Yuri's mind powers to deal damage to an enemy.

Abilities: Black Magic: Fire, Fira, Firaga, Blizzard, Blizzara, Blizzaga, Thunder, Thundara, Thundaga, etc.
White Magic: Cure, Cura, Curaga etc.
Psychic Attack: Replaces normal attack

Trance: Physic Domination: Yuri gains the ability to control the minds of others and bend their will to fit his own.

Bio: Yuri’s history is shrouded in mystery. Some people claim he was born in Daguerreo but there is no evidence to support this. But where Yuri was really born is far removed from Gaia. Yuri was in fact born in Bran Bal, although how or why is unsure to even Yuri. He barely escaped his birthplace’s destruction, blending in with the Genomes that fled on the Invincible. Yuri hasn’t seemed to have aged in all the time he’s been on Gaia, but he would be about 44. He discovered his talent of Magic early on, most likely when he was living with the Black Mages. But the Black Mages could only teach so much before Yuri exceeded their best. He never felt any emotional connection with the Black Mages or the Genomes, and left one day without saying goodbye. He wandered the continent, always being dragged back to the Iifa tree. Perhaps he could get back to Bran Bal using this mighty tree? With this ideology set inside his head he set about planning to unlock the true power of the tree. Only several days after he arrived on Gaia, Yuri was on an Airship heading for the Battle of the Iifa Tree. Commandeering an Airship from a group of travelling adventures, Yuri flew the ship into Memoria after the Invincible. Leaving Zidane and party to deal with the Nova Dragon, Yuri found himself in Memoria. He became lost in a world of memories that did not belong to him. Seeing things he did not remember and remembering things he had not seen, Yuri explored the strange place to find a way back to the ruins of Bran Bal. But no such information came from Memoria. But when Zidane and Garnet defeated Necron, Kuja teleported the party out of Memoria, leaving Yuri behind. Memoria closed and sealed Yuri inside.
Yuri learnt his true purpose in life, the reason for his being, in Memoria. Exploring the shattered world, Yuri pieced together the story of how he came to be, and what lay for him in the future. After 12 years of being confined to Memoria, Yuri broke free. Yuri flew his airship over the world, exploring the different places of Gaia. But he eventually found something that could help him achieve his aim or reclaiming Bran Bal and the remains of Terra- Oeilvert.

Okay, Solidjuss' bio is accepted.

As for the RP, right now, the admins are still trying to work on restoring the RP thread so please be patient with me here. I do have a Plan B should Plan A fall through, but I expect to have something by May 7.

Cheers for approving :P Can't wait till the start :)

And I have to admit that I prefer the little delay as this will give me quite some time to come up with a second character :)

EDIT: How far into the story were you? The approximate number of posts e.g

Also, I will be extending the cut off for new members and Bio acceptance dates due to May 12 (Mother's Day) and May 27 (Memorial Day) respectively.

Yay, I'm stoked :D

Anyway, you can expect some serious posting from my part in the weekend :P

EDIT: Just read through the posts so far. Kyreaan's Panda is absolutely awesome. Adding Mr.1000 to the bunch and I felt I was back in Alexandria in FF IX running around with Vivi, totally clueless :D 5/5 ;)

And Vanessa intrigues me :)

Just to clarify, I take that to mean I could technically get a bio submitted and hopefully accepted in time for the cut off?

I'm only checking because there may have been a change of plans and I just want to make sure!

Name: Zachary Clement

Age: 23

DOB: August 4th

Race: Human

Class: Thief

Gender: Male

Appearance:

Zachary stands at a lofty 6"3, with broad shoulders to boot. The foundations are there in his physique to make him a good fit as either a warrior or a knight; neither a class Zach held an interest in. His body was kept in very good condition, lean and strong, but without copious amounts of muscle. As a thief speed was key, and Zachary needed to stay light on his feet.

His face is full of youthful enthusiasm and charm. A smile full of teeth and high pointed cheekbones to compliment the grin, Zachary still has his youthful good looks onside. His saucer-like eyes are full of thoughts, and glisten a sea blue. Often with no time for personal grooming, his hair remains untamed and soil brown. When time permits, and the loot is in the hands of more wealthy marks, he can pass for a more accomplished looking gentleman by combing his hair over to the side with the aid of some water.

The attire on show compliments Zachary's peach-like complexion. Simple, earthy tones. His t-shirt is plain white with a custom deep cut neck, while his bottoms are a sandy shade hoisted up by a brown cotton belt. To allow maximum movement, he wears a pair of top quality leather boots which had been "acquired."

The only accessory of any note is the eagle pendant around his neck; once owned by his now dead mother. Formed by an unknown metal, the eagle has sharp talons and spread wings, with each feather tipped glorious red.

Personality:

Zachary is a charismatic and charming young man, with razor sharp wit and a eye for an easy mark. Throughout his life he had kept off the radar, so to speak. Keeping his relationships with people short and meaningless. He was a very fickle person; it was vital that he remained this way. Getting lose to someone that was also a target was foolish for obvious reasons, but being as deceptive as Zachary could be allowed him to infiltrate their lives to a degree. People with real treasure to hide kept it close to their hearts, not in the public eye for all to see. Ironically, he lacks the ability to trust. Growing up forced Zachary to learn lessons the hard way, family were lost, as were friends. Trust has never been a word he understood.

Abilities:

Mug - Deals physical damage and has the chance to steal and item.
Perfect Dodge - Evades physical attacks for 30 seconds.
Despoil - Steal items from an enemy while inflicting a status ailment.

Trance: Smoke and Mirrors. Zachary runs full throttle at the enemy with a smoke grenade in hand. Upon detonation of the grenade, he unleashes a barrage of vicious slashes on his target. Can cause darkness.

Weapon: A pair of dangerous Mythril Katars. These nimble daggers are widely used by thieves with a gift for fighting. Zachary's Katars in particular take time to master. Approximately 30mm thick, these daggers were thicker than others. Typically, the thicker the blade the slower the swing, but this was a different case. These had been forged from Mythril by a blacksmith in Treno, especially for Zachary. No frills, just fantastic weaponry. Slightly weighted tips were designed to make the daggers more stable and able to pack a larger punch.

Bio:

As an only child with no other family Zachary has always been a bit of a loner. His mother died shortly after giving birth to him, or so he had been told. His entire childhood was spent being raised by a man by the name Lambert. Around his early 50's when Zachary's first memories begin, Lambert died on the day Zachary turned 18. Lambert taught the youngster everything: How to hunt, how to talk to girls, how to steal...He was a wise man that nurtured Zachary and cared for him as his own. The day he passed away was expected, and also predicted. One humid night on a shore near Treno, Lambert explained that he was dying. A disease which was unnamed was slowly taking his life away. Zachary's life was fleeting as Lambert's was. The difference between Lambert and other human's was well documented. Locals saw him as a genius, a sort of oracle. His knowledge was unrivaled by other human's in Treno, but it was never discovered how. The reason Zachary was prepared for Lambert's death was because Lambert predicted it. To the day. To the hour.

Shortly after the death of his mentor, Zachary began to wonder what his role in life was. Was he destined for anything? Why did Lambert invest so much time in him? What next? The thoughts made sleep impossible for him, so he trained relentlessly until the point of exhaustion. One evening was different. He slept. This was not normal for Zachary, and in his mind he took this as a sign that Lambert was well and truly gone - sight and mind. He awoke in tears, distressed and raging. Anything in his way was swiftly destroyed: chairs, tables and bookcases were left decimated on the ground. As the adrenaline began to drain, his eyes focused on an emerald green journal on his bedside table. How it had gone unnoticed was beyond Zachary. Nothing made sense any more. There was no hesitation, he opened it with wide and desperate eyes. Frantically Zachary flicked through the pages of the journal. Poems, recipes, pictures of the world - it had everything. These were the memoirs of Lambert. Zachary shook with emotion as he read the backside of the front cover:

"Zachary, my boy, live your life."

A month later, Zachary made the decision to leave Treno. There was nothing left for him. He had his fair share of women and had stolen enough artifacts from the rich to help him live very comfortably. He was most famed for stealing every wanted poster with his name on it. He needed more, but knew nothing about what it was he needed. He would never know by staying in Treno. Leaving was easy enough, but getting somewhere worth going was far from simple...for a normal honest person. Local produce was often shipped from Treno to the South Gate, and then onward to Lindblum via airship. Zachary knew that this was his best chance of getting to Lindblum, the place Lambert would always babble on about. He need to knew what made it so special and was prepared to deceive his way there. During a routine stock check by one of the suppliers Zachary spotted his mark - a slow minded trader with slightly crossed eyes. He held what Zachary needed which was a trade pass. One look at this pass would be enough for South Gate troops to let the traders through, hassle free. Without thinking, Zachary opted for his tried and tested "excuse me, sir!"

Definition - Bump into the mark, intentionally. Focus force on the side of desired object and place hands on the mark's opposite shoulder as soon as desired object is removed. Immediately accept all blame and offer monetary apology. Ensure monetary apology is placed directly into said marks' hands as to distract attention from removed item. Tip one's cap, and leave promptly. Note - this is best used for an item of high value/worth, when user has disposable currency/reward.

Thievery was a crime, no doubt about it. But even crime's had rule books. The mark had been successfully robbed and was counting his gil foolishly with his back turned. Initially Zachary was going to travel to South Gate on foot, claiming to have lost stock on the most recent airship, but with an unattended carriage of goods on offer, why would he refuse? Refuse he did not, and he swiftly proceeded to flee the scene, leaving a very pleased, albeit unaware trader behind in his wake.

Name: Leona Firewater

Age: ~43

Race: Burmecian

Gender: Female

Appearance: Leona stands at 6'5", broad chested for a Burmecian, but with thin hips, long arms and legs, and a somewhat hunched back. She hides her thin arms and legs with heavy armor, which is accentuated by her broad shoulders. She has heavy plates, and wears a heavy helm, which covers her pointed face, long ears, large grey eyes. Her fur is hazel, but greying around hr muzzle and other fringe areas, such as her finger, knuckles, knees, and head hair. She stands with her weight on her right side, a remnant from an old, healed wound. She takes long strides, with her head up and shoulders back as much as possible, in an attempt to seem larger then she already is. Leona is missing her left fang, and has a small scar above her left eye. She flexes her muscles often, especially when she has been standing for a long time. She prefers her hair cropped, although doesn't mind it growing out if she hasn't had the time to cut it. She has the habit of biting her nails, but only when no one is looking.

Personality: Friendly but stand-offish, Leona can slip herself into several social situations, although can never fully commit. She does a good job of feigning interest but is usually bored. Stubborn to a fault, she doesn't enjoy the company of those she views as a waste of time. Although she doesn't show it she has a mighty fear of the future. She's dry and sarcastic, never laughing, with only a faint smirk gracing her lips, or a wide grin if truly amused. She's nervous around old friends and calm around strangers, she dislikes speaking about her true past but enjoys weaving false tales to anyone who can listen. She's a light weight when drinking but can sober up in an instant. She refuses to tip but doesn't mind sloppy service. She is sometimes too practical, being a greater pragmatist then a theorist, in as such she finds philosophical debate boring, but not difficult as she rebuffs any attempt at deep conversation with short answers and long anecdotes. When faced with impossible odds she will give up, but only after she is absolutely certain her goal is impossible. She misses her family, and hates the rich.

She also gains increased speed, strength, endurance, agility, and magical powers. When in Trance her Spear and Greatsword are one-handed.

Weapon(s): Leona prefers the use of Rapiers for short range combat, Spears for mid range, and Rackets for long range. She also has a great sword that she can wield one handed for heavy armored or large enemies. Her Rapier is a modified Mage Masher, her Spear a modified Holy Lance, her Racket a modified Magic Racket, and her great sword is a modified Save the Queen. She prefers Holy or Magic/Anti-Magic based weapons. Her base weapon is the Holy Lance.

Bio: Born to a poor Burmecian family in Treno, Leona knew no luxury. Her grandfather was run out of Burmecia for stealing before even her father was born. In Treno Leona's grandfather continued his life of stealing and generally roguery, his children continuing the tradition. Except for Leona's mother; she had a dream, a dream to make all the people in Treno too drunk to worry!

Leona's mother had seen the positive effects of alcohol on the poor of Treno, especially her father. After several years of experimentation on fermenting different items, Leona's mother finally found a unique and powerful combination, a drink so potent that it burned through the wooden casks it sat in. Calling this new drink "Firewater" and emancipating herself from her father, Leonas mother forged a new life for herself and her children in Treno, one based on an honest, alcoholic living. As a result, Leonas life was honest, but even poorer then her grandfather, who benefited from the occasional rare nick. Leona learned the value of hard earned gil from her mother, and gained an extreme distaste of criminals and the lazy from her grandfather and older brothers who had abandoned honest living. Leonas mother eventually saved enough money up to get her a private tutor in both martial and magical arts. Leona learned much from her aristocratic mentor, and rather then have one focus, learned both black and white magic, as well as an aggressive style of sword-art, known as Feralism. Eventually Leona's tutor was able to use his connections to get Leona started up in a new life, filled with adventure and danger, Leona had become a bounty hunter.

After several hard years filled with rough necked bounties and cowardly thieves, Leona's mother had saved enough up from the gil Leona was sending home to move back to Bermecia. Leona continued to work as a bounty hunter, often returning to her mother and her old master for continued training and debate. It was there that Leona's' tutor planted the idea of alternate times. "Leona, listen to me," Her tutor ordered, "time is not one strand stretching into infinity. It is like a tree, with roots, a solid base, and many branches. But if you were to cut a sliver of the tree from the side, there is a chance it would grow up and out from that point." Leona pondered this for a moment before saying, "I do not follow, master. If the tree is time, then if it gets damaged it just sprouts a new branch? What does that mean?" Her master looked at her in disappointment. "Leona child, it means that even after great damage and change to the time line, new ones will pop up and continue on, leaving the current timeline to continue as well. It is because of this that time-travel is impossible." Leona was confused. She wasn't sure anymore how they got on this topic from starting on what mustard is made of. "Any way, it's time we return to talks of the upcoming war, what are your plans...?"

One year later, Leona's mother was killed in the attack on Burmecia, her entire shop set on fire, her own stock fueling the flames. Leona at first declared vengeance against the Queen of Alexandria, and made it her mission to exterminate any and all Alexandrians and Black Mages she came across.

After the war though, realizing the Queen was simply a pawn, Leona resigned herself to reconstruction efforts, continuing her bounty hunter work and funneling funds to Burmecia, assisting in the filling of the coffers. Once the city was finally rebuilt, Leona still felt empty. She had lost not only her mother, but also her siblings, who had decided to assist as soldiers of Burmecia and Cleyra. Her grandfather had died from stress during the war as well. Even though the conflict was just a shadow of the past, Leona's wounds never healed.

Leona continued to drift for several years, picking up the odd contract here and there, but with nothing to put her funds too, all her attempts felt empty. It was only when she was at her lowest, looking deep into the final bottle of Firewater left from her mothers brewing, sitting in a seedy bar in Lindblum, with too much money in her pocket and not enough motivation to spur her, that she reflected on the words of her master.

She had learned of crystals and their powers. If the universe and time were a tree, the crystals were the seeds. Seeds of immense power, perhaps enough power to strike off a piece of the trunk, and allow a new branch to grow. Leona found her resolve at last. She would harness the power of the crystals somehow, and change the past, leave the trunk of the tree an continue on a fresh branch, one where Queen Brahne never succeeded in her mad war effort against the Burmecian and Cleyran.

Leona would do anything to gain the power necessary, even if it meant loosing herself. It is after all, the last thing she has left to lose.

Well Dincht, I'll allow you to finish before I check to see if it's accepted, but it's looking to be very good. Besides, you have til the end of the month to have it accepted.

And Leona, your bio is accepted, welcome to the RP. :)
