[SU/D] Final Fantasy IX: Scars of Terra (Remake)

Name: Quinn Quaff

Appearance: Quinn stands at 6'2", with short arms and legs for their long torso. They have short fingers, broad shoulders, a rounded jaw, and a modest breast. Quinn is thin, especially for a Qu, although not sickly so. Qu has a handlebar moustache, a bowl cut with a mid part, and wears circular classes. Quinn wears baggy clothing, as it's hard to find a slim cut Qu clothing, with many pouches and pockets. Quinn wears no hat, and wears a necklace with a rare Tetra Master card on it. Quinn also has their tongue in their mouth, distinct amongst Qu.

Personality: Quinn has a passion for card-based games, and considers it their life mission to master all games. They are upset easily, and their depression can linger with them for a while. Typically a game of cards, especially against a skilled Tetra Master player, can remove them from their funk. They prefer foods with interesting textures over interesting tastes, and they put a large amount of ketchup and salt on nearly anything, as they have lost the sensation in their tongue. They refuse to leave areas they wish to be in, and will not take "no" for an answer. Quinn is in many ways the stereotypical "hard core card player." Passionate about their hobby, but grating about it. Condescending to new players, they expect the reverse when they wish to pick up a new game. Quinn is awfully kind to other Qu though, and completely against any form of bigotry. Although Qu is obnoxious, they show great care of those that are considered "outcasts," feeling as one themselves.

Trance: "Card Captor" Their Trance allows them to "summon" their Tetra Master Cards. A "shadow" of what is on the card appears, scaled down or up depending on the card. The "summon" then either rushes the enemies and explodes dealing damage and inflicting negative effects, or defends Quinn, exploding on contact, dealing damage and causing an effect.

Weapon: Quinn uses odd items for tossing, inflicting negative effects on their opponent. They also utilize daggers for close combat, and cards for special abilities.

Bio: Quinn was like any other Qu, using all their energy into their cooking. Raised by the clan, they learned many different recipes, and …learned about strong familial ties. This all changed when Quinn ate a legendarily spicy dish, one that burned their tongue so badly they lost sensation over 90% of their sensation forever. This in turn lead to the unatainable goal of the "Way of the Gourmand." Ostracized from their community, Quinn was lost with out a goal in life. So they wandered.

Over the next several years Quinn went from hobby and job, trying to find a skill they could pour their soul into. Quinn turned their hand to engineering, farming, and several other skill that didn't require their tongue. Then one fateful day, a small child challenged them to a game of Tetra Master. Quinn used the last of their saving to buy a deck off an older man, and so began their own way, their "Heart of the Card."

Quinn turned out to be a naturel, gaining card after card in perfect games. Along the way they picked up several other card games, being as skilled at them as they were in Tetra Master. Quinn also learned how to read tarot cards, and use cards for magical abilities. These talents, gained from an elderly woman in a traveling caravan, also trained him in skill related to juggling, complimenting his magical-card abilities.

Quinns greatest goal is to master all card based games of skill, and develop their own game, one that would sweep the world in popularity. A secondary goal of theirs is to trap the souls of very powerful monsters and summons into their Tetra Master cards, creating a powerful, magic filled Tetra Master deck.

I was thinking of joining a tournament in Lindblum in a few posts, so Lena, it would be cool if you could bring Quinn over there for some fun ;)

Yes of course we can engage in some Tetra Master! Fair warning, Quinn is most likely the best player, but also COMPLETELY insufferable during a match. Think Pegasus from Yu-Gi-Oh

However even if he is the best player it wouldn't be too easy of a match as my lad is the only person who has won 3 consecutive Tetra Master Championships in Treno and thus considered the best of the best by masses. Add in the fact that he can afford the most expensive cards in the world and you get yourself as close to a challenge as possible for your character :D Although I can already see what an upset it would be if you do beat my guy. Celebrity overnight ;)

Maybe it was removed with a view to re-posting here, just to keep the RP itself clean? Not sure buddy.

On another note, the plan for Zachary (my character) is to head for Lindblum for the time being. That's probably pretty obvious...After looking through previous posts it should keep the balance of people and locations quite even. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing anything that may have been agreed earlier?
 
That does make sense :)

Anyway, I (John Bridges - my character) will stay in Lindblum for a while and I am planning to have my second character (currently working on the bio) there as well. If it gets too crowded, I can always wander off and do my own stuff or relocate to another location as I am rich enough :D

Appearance: A small girl standing only at 5'2", she appears to be taller due to her severe nature. Her eyes do not appear empty, rather they seem to have a wall behind them. He mouth is pursed, her hair perfectly straight, platinum blonde and cropped so as no one can grab a hold of it during battle. Her ears stick out slightly, which considered "cute" in her youth, she now despises. She has narrow shoulders and hips, but with powerful arms, legs, and core. Her years of training have reduced her bust, most of her fat becoming muscle, giving her broad shoulders, bulging biceps, and strong quads. She paints her nails different colors as it suits her, although "lipstick red" and "port" are her favourite colors. Her armor is made of banded steel - reinforced and weaved with magic - shaped mostly rounded and close to her body with no ornamentation. She wears full armor, including grieves gauntlets and helmet. She wears a perfume imported from Treno on special occasions, one of the few gifts her father bought her. It smells of lily's.

Personality: A stern and serious young lady, she is pragmatic above nearly everything. She dislikes long talks as she lacks much social etiquette, and can't stand to meet peoples eyes, preferring to look at their mouth or just around their face, if not off in a different direction entirely. When feeling nostalgic she will reach around her shoulder, as if to caress hair no longer there. She often wishes for a time before the war had started, her years as a child soldier hardened her. She saw many people die, and it has effected her, disturbed her in ways. She doesn't get much sleep, nightmares haunt her, both from her youth and the war. When she is around others her age, but below her rank, she attempts to take a kind and caring tone, although it comes as forced. Around her military peers and superiors she is mostly business. She does not drink, smoke or ingest any outside substances that would otherwise dull her senses. She wants a tattoo badly, although she is afraid others would judge her. She is constantly aware of others judgements, and if they are her superiors or those she desires respect from, she attempts to change herself, so long as the changes will not effect her performance in battle. She has a deep, and powerful love for Cyril, his skill in battle and the trust he gained from her father has forever endeared him to her. She becomes a different person when it comes to him, forgoing any practicality and sense. This is not a flight of fancy, or a girlish love, it is a love born from respect. She refuses to kill others she feels do not deserve to die, unless under Cyrils orders.

Abilities: She has constant access to her Rune Knight powers, but her Sword Saint abilities depend upon the weapon she has equipped at the time, all abilities are physical damage, some have elements attached, those that don't, have an element attached by the blade equipped:

Focus: Attack power increases when focusing, stacks 3 times
Sanguine Sword: Absorbs HP
Infernal Strike: Absorbs MP
Crushing Blow: Critical damage, inflicts stop.
Abyssal Blade: Sacrifice own HP to deal damage to others in a burst effect, with the nearest units suffering the most damage.
Unholy Sacrifice: Sacrifice Sacrifice own HP to deal extensive damage to all units in a burst range. Inflicts slow.
HP Boost: Increase HP by 20% for a brief time
Vehemence: Increase attack power by 50 percent and decrease defensive power by 50 percent.
Vengence: Damage proportionate to how much damage you have taken
Rend Equipment: Damages equipment(weapon, helm/armor, accessory) greatly, bleed damage if it breaks
Disable: Disable opponent and damage
Dispel: Remove magical effects from opponent
Atheist: Decrease power, magic power, defense, magic defense and speed of all opponents in your area, lose access all abilities except Dispel and Disable
Monster Skill: Allied monsters in the area gain Sanguine Sword and Infernal Strike

Holy/Moon Blade: Divine Swordsmanship
Judgment Blade: Damage and inflict stop
Cleansing Strike: Damage and doom
Northswain's Strike: Damage and KO's Black Mages, Death Knights, and other "dark" classes

Trance: "Godspeed You! Oeilvert Emperor!" Named after Cyril, in her trance, Iolanthe can move at speeds that almost no one can follow with the naked eye. She "summons" all her swords at once, which dance and play around her, through this she gains access to all her swordsmanship skills. Once her trance is over, her swords return to hammer space and she is left with only one. She also gains access to her True Sword Saint abilities.

True Sword Saint: Omni Swordsmanship
All abilities can be used, all passive abilities in effect.
Ultima Strike: Massive damage
Omega Strike: More damage then Ultima, leaves self with 1HP
Alpha Strike: Heavy damage, heal self by that amount
Beta Strike: Lightning, Fire, Ice damage
Delta Strike: Holy, Non-Elemental, Dark damage
Gamma Strike: Wind, Earth, Water damage


Weapon: She uses five long-swords but can only use one at a time. Blood Sword: Drains a small amount of opponents life when struck, dark magic. Rune Blade: Drains a small amount of MP from opponents, and can absorb spells. Holy Blade: Holy damage. Materia Blade: Earth magic based damage. Moon Blade: Wind magic based damage.

She uses no shield and can not duel wield except in trance. She is a bit of a glass canon, dealing out damage easily but not doing well in long term fights unless she weakens her opponents.

Bio: 7 when the war broke out, 8 her father dies, 13, the war ends

The newly arrived Genomes from Terra, in an attempt to further connect with their goals of acquiring souls, attempted to create aging Genomes. Mikoto led the project, created by Garland specifically for the task. Ddaear was the 10th and second to last of the attempts and only one of two to survive. After intensive examination, she was found to have several imperfections; her heart beats at a very rapid pace, almost twice as fast as a normal Genome, she was originally born blind and deaf, and she developed language skills very late. Despite all this, Ddaear did indeed grow at the rate consistent with human development. Once the Genome Spring occurred, the project Ddaear was created from was deemed obsolete.

At the age of 3, Ddaear had advanced motor control, but still had extremely weak eyesight and hearing. Despite her handicaps she was unnaturally strong, as strong as an adult even. The de Gaul clan took notice of her development, and offered to raise her. For the next 2 years Ddaear was raised under the watchful eye of Louis de Gaul, Ddeaer was trained in several sword styles, and was given lessons in math, science, and magic from a Black Mage, although she showed no aptitude in any of her subjects. Her skill with the sword was such that at the age of 6, she was as skilled as the average adult. That year, the war broke out.

During the war she followed her adopted father as a steward, carrying luggage and sharpening swords. The death of her father stopped her presence on the battle field. She was 7. Ddaear continued to work under Cyril, and train under some of the more skilled soldiers. At the age of 10 she joined the war effort. After several battles, proving her daring, she was put in charge of a small division. At 13 she became a Marshal of the Gesalian faction, and took her place in the front lines. Her division became known for brave charges into battle, the seeming non-issue of morale, and Ddraea's Fell and Divine Swordsmanship.

At the age of 13 the civil war came to a close, and less then a week later Ddraea turns 14. She continued to train under different swordsfolk of renown. During the interbellum Ddraea had several interactions with the Black Mages, and learned of her ability to seal magic, a talent seemingly innate, although enhanced through the use of her Rune Blade.

Once the war began, she gladly took up arms for Cyril, a man whos prowess in battle inspires her, and fills her with what she can only describe as "love." She joined Cyril and his army at the final day of the seige, leading her personal division once again. She has since stayed with her division, ready for battle, but will leave it should Cyril command.

There are many in the court of Oeilvert who wonder if she is bitter that her adoptive father did not name her as an heir. She believes Cyril is more worthy. She does wonder though, about the origins of Cyril, and the location of her "brother" Duw.

Okay Leona, that's kind of OP, even by what you intended her to be (as a boss type character, and even bosses doesn't have that wide a moveset.)

Firstly, the passive abilities (Movements, Support and Reaction Abilities) are really, really unnecessary in an RP, considering that none of the other created characters, Player Character or NPC's (even the Lord Generals) have those mentioned, so I would ask to remove them.

Secondly, I feel that there are far too many abilities for her to have, even if she is only able to use a certain set per sword. I would say to cut the list to like two or three sets, so it would be less of an OP scenario.

I'm hoping to make another post soon, but don't feel like I should yet as there has only been one since mine...Will keep an eye on any activity, but will make another post to encourage it if not done soon ^_^

Edit: Ddaear is finished, cut her skills in more then half, finished her history, gave her fitting themes. also some interesting notes if they will be accepting (Nothing that should step on the toes of pre-canon)
