[SU/D] Final Fantasy IX: Scars of Terra

Okay Ladies and gents, I wanna do a vote.

I had introduced a stat system that I thought would be simple and easy to make sense. So far, it's given people, me included, a great big headache trying to sort out the confusion, and I'm now wondering whats the point of it all.

So here's the question, do you want me to continue with the stat system here, or abandon it and focus on the story?

I'm voting for keeping it story driven, but just have stats as a general guide as to a character's fighting ability. People with high speeds are able to outpace slower characters and higher chance to evade attacks, but often have moderate to low defenses in exchange, so when they do get hit, they get hurt. Meanwhile the heavily armored knight can't evade for crap, but they can take a beating and still keep swinging.

I'm more game for having it story based

I Already told you on MSN Noblesse, im for the story Driven a im not really a fan of stat based RP's.

I mean keeping the Ultimate weapons i'm okay with, but they just don't need the attack power. admittedly we would have to learn our abilities as we g, but as long as everyone doesn't learn all there abilities at once it should be okay

I think the stat's would be different and interesting but if its too much trouble for you guy's I'll Vote to move the story along.

Noblesse Oblige If you dont want to play as a Soldier at the Castle Gate/Mote would my character be able to get a audience with the King or Queen? so i can plan my post?

well, I believe you would be able to get an audience. I'm not playing as a castle guard though, and it would give a chance for Ravness to post as Queen Garnet (and maybe employ my role in NPC land as King Zidane and the children)

Name: Zidane Tribal of Lindblum, King-Consort of Alexandria

Age: 33

Race: Genome

Gender: Male

Appearance: Zidane is of average height, around 5' 9” and a fairly slim build, which lends itself to his previous profession. He has shoulder length blond hair, which is usually simply brushed down so it falls down either side of his face, and bright blue eyes. Also, common with all genomes he has a tail, which is of a pale brown colour, slightly darker than the rest of his body.

Zidane is now mostly seen in his robes of state (certainly whilst witihn the city walls of Alexandria, or at formal event), which consists of a plain black suit and shirt. However worn over the top of this is a white cloak embroidered around the edge with the same pattern as on Garnet's formal gown (see Ravness' bio for the actual pattern).

When he plans for a fight he will wear a simple white t shirt with a blue waistcoat over the top. He also wears a pair of heavy leather gloves, with large, blue cuffs. His blue trousers are held up by a thick brown, leather belt, and his feet are covered by a pair of light boots. He also has two scabbards at his waist for his daggers.

Personality: No longer the skirt – chasing thief he once was, Zidane found his love in the form of the former Princess Garnet. Despite his new position he has not really lost any of his laid back and casual attitude towards life. Still confident in his abilities, he is now without the insecurities of his past, as he has had an opportunity to grow over the past 17 years. Now that he knows the truth of his past, he no longer feels the insecurities he used to, and he is more often than not exceptionally cheerful.

However, Zidane can lose his cool should the situation call for it. Mostly when those he cares for most are in some sort of danger, his laid-back attitude falls away to reveal a much darker person, one who could quite easily lash out without meaning to at only a moments notice.

Class: thief

Abilities: Steal – As the name suggests, Zidane attempts to steal an item from an enemy.

Skill:

Flee – Allows Zidane and his allies to flee in exchnage for a small amount of Gil

Detect – By observing his enemy, Zidane can spot which items could easily be stolen, after all, he is still a thief at heart.

What's That? - By throwing something, anything, that comes to hand, Zidane creates a distraction which distracts his enemies for just long enough for him to get in a crucial attack.

Soul Blade – When using a “thief Sword” Zidane is able to inflict a status effect on his enemy (Based on which status effect the sword inflicts)

Thievery – Zidane both attacks and steals from an enemy.

None of the above powers use very much of Zidanes physical energy, as most fit in neatly with his style of fighting, however the effectiveness of some depend on his surroundings and the type of enemy he is fighting (for example there would be little point in stealing froma wolf as they have nothing of value)

Trance: Dyne

Zidane becomes enraged as his emotions take hold. Whilst is Trance, Zidane is unable to use any of his “Skills”

Zidane will use a number of attacks of varying powers depending on the situation, or number of enemies. However his ultimate Dyne attack, Grand Lethal is specially reserved for critical moments when his friends are in mortal danger, or he can see no other means of escape.

Weapon: Daggers/Thief Swords. Zidane begins equipped with the “Butterfly Sword”

Bio to follow later, also is it true that Canon characters will be playing a smaller part?

If so I might make a non-canon in order to get in on the action a bit more.

If you're playing as a canon, then you're welcome to take an active part in the story. It only applies to NPC Canon characters.

In addition, effective immediately, the stat system that we've used since the start of the RP is effectively terminated. For those who were using the Ultimate Weapons however, I will still allow you to acquire them through the same means via Sidequest. That is all.

Okay then, Mine I will acquire at two separate points in the RP, but the abilities will only become active after they are reunited

Well, since the stat system is abolished, it's basically the only way I know how, and in the words of a certain commercial on Cartoon Network.

"Don't get even, get MAD!!!"

Monarch Thanks for the in.

Emperor Lelouch As of my last post Amarant's in Oeilvert, but I was thinking he might be headed to Cleyra in the near future, as that seemed to be where everyone was headed. Maybe meet there?

Sure thing Terrible Terry Tate I'll do a quick sweep of the Castle, and learn that your not there,After that I'll head over to Cleyra for to help them in some way,If they are Rebuilding Cleyra or looking for relic's =o

Noblesse Oblige Would they be rebuilding in Cleyra or just move to Burmecia(spxD?)?

As of about a page or two ago, Cleyra is now officially occupied by the Oeilvert Army. They are searching for an artifact that has come into possession by Cleyra, and similar artifacts owned by the other three Kingdoms in the Mist Continent.

Erm, do you mind a minor tweak to my character's ultimate weapon? To facilitate a possible character developmental path that I am planning for my character, I changed the weapon slightly.

Lowered the attack stats, and the criteria to obtain it. Now, I just have to challenge at least 4 notable characters not limited to the examples below. Notable examples are those well known for their strength. That, and I won't rush challenge the player-controlled characters so soon, just to be fair, and to leave obtaining the ultimate weapon at the later parts of this role play.

Dream Victory

Attack:

95

Abilities:

Paladin Maneuver

Be able to use Climhazzard, Thunder Strike, Iai Strike, Stock Break, Shock.

Obtained:

By challenging Annelise, Robert Crescent, Ricard, Freya, Fratley, Beatrix, Steiner, in terms of swordsmanship. (At least 4 notable characters, not limited to the list above. Emphasis on 'in terms of swordsmanship')

Sheesh, I really need to catch up with this thing. Noblesse, do you mind if we just forget my initial appearance in the RP and start anew? It wouldn't have any effect on the story since I was pretty much ignored the first time anyway.
