[SU&D;Interest Check] Fantasia

As stated by Valkyrur, he is out till friday so we wont know if its ok till then, but my guess, it SHOULD be ok. If you have spare time, go write up a bio so you're good to go IF he lets you join.

Firstly, really sorry for not completing the bios for the duo. When I got off I realized to my horror that those bios weren't completed. *facepalm* Well, I guess we're better off with me getting on with posting for the time being. And as a small reminder, just to speed things up a little, please god-mod a little for the battle against the Scarlet Duo. Just avoid any conclusive outcomes like a mortal wound or such.

I don't mind any new characters at the moment, though I would think it'll be hard for you to join in the action with almost all the characters outside of Fantasia. Of course, you can still stay in Fantasia itself to partake in the events that are happening - due in a post I'll create as soon as I can. Either way, it's up to you. All I hope is that you'll stay active once you decided to join.

Hm. I suppose there's quite a lot to learn about setting up role plays and executing it, even with a rough deadline in mind. Meanwhile, I'm finishing up the long overdue bios for the Scarlet Duo.

Btw, I will be getting exams rather soon :D Emm ... 25th of April and onwards I will be unable to post for some time. Going to Estonia to celebrate my 20th birthday on 27th and on 2nd of May heading off to Spain to start working there. And I guess for a week from there on I wont be online cause I have to learn stuff about my job and figure out when and where I could be online etc.

EDIT: So what I wanted to know, what's the next official deadline?

EDIT nr2: Hey, I hope it's alright what I did in Fantasia. A little fight between Vadok and the Merchants of Ao. :D I just thought it would add some spice to the whole story and make the revolution and odds for Genesis to win a little higher.

Ah, and Enigma's the big bad boss of Final, the bad bad people. Just to clear that up. Dori ought to be on the side of Genesis, and it's leader 'The Window', Lisette.

Official deadline... I think the sooner the better, and with daily posting, I bet... Next Sunday? 21 April? I think I'll do something to bring them back. Lisette would want them all back anyway.

Hm. Pretty much, it seems. Working within a set time frame does makes thing a lot more rushed, I have to admit. A lot of the character interactions were cut short or simply didn't happen.

I think that how it would work best is if we would base the one month deadline RP storyline on just a single day IC. That way you would have time for character interaction and fun without worrying about going over the deadline.
In any case, something worth to try experimenting with.

I must admit I'm not so sure what you meant by what you said, Solidjuss. Could you explain that again in another way?

And, for the time being, I hope to set a tentative deadline as the last day of this month, meaning, 30 April. 15 more days. If we can conclude before that, all the better. Things will be moving really quickly over at the Fantasia side so the action should be reaching its climax now.

Hehe, quite often I do not understand myself either :D

But if you mean my last post in this topic, then I can give another shot at explaining. What I meant is that it's rather obvious that it's very challenging to keep to the initial deadline if we have one, as this RP has shown. Instead of one month we are ending up with two months. That's rather unfortunate as the idea of having certain timespan for a RP is cool, because I usually know if I can be active or not in the upcoming month. At the same time, its much harder to know what is going to happen in RL three months from now. Now as this has already dragged to second month, some new exams have come up for me of which I knew nothing when I first signed up for this RP. That's one of the reasons why I have been slow lately. In addition, just weeks ago I found out that I am going to work in Spain for 5 months, starting from May. Anyways the point of my personal example was to show that I love the idea of having a RP thats meant to be done with in a month cause I can kind of predict how active I can be in the next 30 days.

Now back to my idea. We are in the second day RP-wise in this particular roleplay and it already seems that we cant stick to the deadlines. Now if we had limited the whole RP to the warehouse event and the few hours after that, we would have finished when we were supposed to. From this I realized that in a RP with plenty of content, high level character interaction and character development at reasonable level of activity it can take up to a month for just one event to finish. Therefore I find that it would be easier to organize and pull off if we would do the limited term RP's by limiting the RP in character time-span to just a couple of hours and to one specific location/ area.
I do realize that for some this might seem like a serious restriction, but considering our experience and skill at RP'ing I believe we could still have heaps of fun. So I reckon that next time we try something with a deadline, we should take into consideration that anything longer than a day IC will prolly take longer than a month.

In any case I would really like the deadline roleplays to continue because I'm young and moving around a lot, being unable to show the same level of activity for longer periods of time. ( For example, if and how much can I use internet in Spain for 5 months, starting from 2nd of May. And in January 2013 I am heading to Bali, Indonesia, for 4 months. But I still want to RP in October and November for example, yet there's no point of me joining up any ordinary RP knowing that I will quit in 2 months).

I think I get what you mean now. So, to best fit the deadline, we use the rough estimation that one day in the role play is equivalent to one month in reality. By that line of thinking, we have about 15 days left, which means we should limit the role play to 12 hours of time. Something along those lines?

And to be truthful, it wasn't really one day that went by, considering the role play started at night. Well, I'll definitely be pushing the events on ahead now.

Ah true that.

When we would rush we could of course progress at a much faster rate. On the other hand when rushing, quite a few things might and most likely will lose their charm.
On another note, we should, as you already mentioned, rush this one.

Hmm ... so basically one month might be a maximum of half a day in character if we wish to have plenty of character interactions and little neat details?

Solidjuss I also realised that I never actually specified what was inside that pouch either, so you're quite free to innovate something. I don't really mind.

we could make each section of the rp an individual thread. Like an arc and have a mod merge it later on. Also, like what i suggested to Valk, an overlord character to force rp to move on.

I second that idea. My Kingdom Hearts RP is all in one story, but divided into three arcs, which I find is more efficient.

I agree with dividing it into arcs and later merging suggestion :)

So I can participate in one arc, skip the next and be back in the third one.

That's interesting. And spares me the need to rush things to an end. :D

About the Overlord character though, I think I'll implement that in the next arc, should there be one. For now, once everyone reappears in Fantasia, we can begin the climax of this arc.

I am not dead >D But I am unable to post as I left my laptop to Estonia ... In any case I would love to see you guys finish this RP without me. It deserves an ending.

Cheers from Marbella, Spain. (Will be there for a good three months if not five)
