[SU/Discussion/Brainstorming] - Have Party, Will Travel

Name: Leo Steadman

Alias:
None (I went against using one in the end)

Alignment: Lawful Neutral

Class: Shooter

Race: Halfling

Gender: Male

Age: 54

Appearance: Please note the image given is just a reference image and he does not actually use a gun, as it does not seem fit for this RP.
Anime77-1.jpg

Normally he wears a black longcoat that reaches down to about his mid-calf. On any normal person, the coat would never be a longcoat since he is at a small height of 4'4" and is still very skinny, weighing in at about 87 pounds, which is tall for his race. His coat is made of genuine leather with a few loops holding in a knife along his right hip (see weapons). The longcoat generally only comes off for working on a machine or in combat. Underneath this coat lies a black T-shirt. His pants are a loose leather pair of pants and the inside is lined with a soft fabric so to maintain the looseness of them. Black fingerless gloves cover the palms of his hands and first knuckles. He wears this pair because it still allows mobility in his fingers. For footwear this smart mechanic wears simple black boots that are waterproof reaching about wear his coat ends. This allows for complete cover from the weather if needed. Both of his ears have a ring at the lobe that loop and are very small and unnoticeable from a distance. His eyes are covered with yellow, square sunglasses, but they tend to drift lower on his nose.

His body type is, as stated earlier, very, very small. His Caucasian skin tone is slightly greyed out from the lack of sunlight. His eyes are changing by his mood. Good moods tend to show blue while bad moods leave his eyes yellow. A mood between would leave his eyes blue with a yellow hue/tint or yellow with a blue hue/tint, or maybe just an even purple. His hair is white as snow, also likely due to the lack of sunlight in his past. With longer fingers than most, it can often look creepy if he takes off the gloves.

Personality: This guys got attitude! Make Leo mad and he won't hesitate to snap his hand on your throat or draw his weapons. The odds of him actually hurting anyone are much lower though, it's usually just serious sounding empty threats. He completely despises arrogance as well. He normally stays away from people, but he's not anti-social, just secluded. He doesn't hate to communicate, but you won't find him offering his shoulder for anyone to cry on.

He does love his friends, but they aren't his life. Yes, he would be saddened if something bad happened to one of them, but he wouldn't make much of a big deal about it. He hates to fight but loves to invent fighting machines and show off his weaponry. The knife he carries is more of a glorified wire cutter than a real weapon since he rarely finds himself in a situation to use it.

He's the type to obey the law before doing as he was told. He doesn't support either side, but if he sees someone doing something that is illicit in any manner, he looks down on them. Society has rules and you must follow them. Of course, his views are also biased towards people he knows, but isn't everyone else? They are in his eyes, so he finds it justified.

First Impression: One would guess he was a loner by his look, but he really isn't. Because of how he walks, he seems to be "hiding" himself from the crowd, but in all honesty, it's just a habit of his.

Statistics:

Strength: Physical strength is not something he has much of. Probably only enough to turn a wrench or a screwdriver. When it comes down to it, punching something would probably only hurt himself and deal no damage to whatever he hit unless the struck object was soft or weak.

Vitality: In both magic and physical, Leo's defenses are very weak. Once you break through his weapons defense, he is rendered useless. Nearly only one physical attack from an average person would be something he could feel. When it comes to magic, he is even worse. If he doesn't defend himself from the magic, he will be injured.

Speed: Being so small, he is in fact light on his feet. At a normal run he can go about 23 miles an hour in a near instant (about 2 seconds). An all out sprint is slower to achieve, but he can almost match 28 miles an hour, but it can only last about 25 seconds. Due to his low strength he will not be capable of running very fast if he carries anything exceeding 20 pounds.

Stamina: In a fight using no energy through abilities he can last for almost an hour, landing five minutes short. In a run that also uses no abilities he can run for about 2.5 hours. However, using any energy through his abilities for his machines will greatly decrease this amount. So will carrying anything heavy.

Reflexes: Working on machines, something can always go wrong, so he tends to be aware of his surroundings. He will often flinch to something that doesn't even need to have him flinch out of sheer reflex. Hitting him from in front is very hard to do this, and his hearing is also very keen on something going wrong, but he pays no attention to noises made by civilization, but a single click will cause him to turn to look and brace himself out of force of habit.

Fighting Style: He has various machines that do the work for him. Fighting him without his machines can only be done once you are to take out all of his guardian machines. Once they are broken through, you'll have to face a barrage of his shots from his own creation that sits upon his wrist.

Weapons: Vengeance - Detailed in look, it is simple in structure. It's not made for offense, as its primary use is to parry enemy attacks and use the various grooves of it to snag the weapon and pull it away from the attacker. It rests in the loops of the right side of his longcoat.

Spirit launcher: A custom invention that hardens his metabolic energy (see abilities), these are wrapped around Leo's wrists and can launch out small blades that only slightly sharper than razor blades. The shape and size is rather random and resembles shattered glass. It can shoot about 3 shards per second. This does have an energy drain from his body, but that information is reserved for the ability section.

Caffeine Pills: Pills that give him energy. I was unsure where to put this, and this is something that fuels one of his abilities, so I just slapped it here at random

Scorpio: A small machine of his only built to weight a few pounds and only spans a whopping 11 inches including the tail, 7 inches not including the tail. The machine represents a scorpion plated in thin steel. Breaking this is as easy as stepping on it, though that will likely anger Leo. This also runs on Leo's metabolic activity. The needle that acts as the tip of the tail is equipped with a syringe full of a poison that cannot kill a living organism unless they are small, which most are not (AKA all of the characters can survive this). The poison takes about 30 minutes to kick in, depending on the victims activity level and/or body weight. When the poison takes effect, it causes muscles to begin tensing, causing much pain. Leo carries an antidote with him at all times. Since this machine is so obviously a machine and runs only slightly slower than a real living scorpion, it is easy to spot, therefor hard to get anyone with it.

As of the beginning of the RP this is all he has, but this number will grow as he will have more machines work under him.

Mount: An invention of his own, he rides on a mechanical mount crafted over a long period of time with much work put into it. It is another one of the many machines that runs on the fuel Leo can make from his own metabolic energy. The machine stands about 4 feet high including the area the pilot is to sit. It has legs that are made to constantly move through fluid hydrolics. Overall it looks more like a bipedal animal but is instead crafted from metal and wires. When mounted, Leo only adds 2 feet 4 inches to the overall height, making out a total of 6 feet 4 inches when mounted. There are drawbacks to this invention such as the fact that it is in fact quite heavy. It also requires a lot of energy from Leo to run, so he generally only uses this when going long distances at higher speeds. It's max speed is about 45 miles an hour after a 3 minute build up of speed. It has mechanical arms that it can use to climb cliffs ridiculously slow and at a high cost of energy so that he may need a nap and a meal afterwards. When going inside of a town, he leaves this behind.

Abilities:

Metabolism to fuel: Leo can turn his own physical energy and use it to fuel machines. He uses this as the main source of fuel for most of his machines, so he tends to eat very much. Doing this while running burns his energy very, very fast. When his metabolic energy is converted to fuel, it becomes a lightweight, clear, water-like substance that he can control telepathically through telekinesis. No, he does not have normal telekinesis either, he can only control his own energy like this. This can pass through physical objects without effecting them at all, meaning it cannot be used to suffocate people either. It can only be touched by a certain element he manufactured himself, therefor is an unnatural element not found in anything natural. His spirit launcher has a more refined version of the element and takes his liquified energy and hardens it into a solid state. He can convert his liquid energy back into his metabolic energy, but once it has been hardened within his spirit launcher, cannot be recovered. The hardened result will slowly sublimate regardless of the weather. Both solid and liquid are non-soluble substances. His calorie to volt ratio is 1 calorie = 300 volts. 1 calorie is also equivalent to 30 amps.

Electricity to Metabolism: At a very slow rate, Leo can take in electricity to regain his metabolism. He cannot gain energy from something fueled by his own energy. His electricity to metabolism ratio is 1000 volts gaining 3 calories. It is an inefficient way to gain energy but comes in handy every so often.

Alchemy: Using various materials he can make new things at the limitations of his skill level and materials he has to work with. Unlike being just creative, he can turn some materials into completely other materials keeping in mind the law of conservation of matter and energy. Normally it takes little to no energy, however he is also only at a skill level to do only simple things. As of now he can use alchemy to turn sand into glass, some kinds of dirt into stones, and vise verse. Some of the greatest alchemists have been known to change metals into other kinds of metals. This ability also can be used to change shape of some things, however changing shapes takes more energy than anything else he can do so far.

Magic: None

Other Skills: He is very good on machines, capable of gaining understanding of most. If he takes something apart, he'll memorize the parts so that he can put it back together either perfectly or even better.

Tunnel digger: Having helped expand the area he lives in, he has learned how to dig efficiently. An odd and arguably pointless skill, but a skill none the less.

Night vision: Having lived underground, his eyes are used to seeing in the dark, so he can quite easily see in the middle of the night.

History: Born 132 years after his older brother, for his race he is still very young. Just like his parents, he is a mechanic. He does a lot of work on his parents machines, fixing them or just taking them apart to try and understand how they work. His living space is underground and marked by a large commercial building in the marketing area of Valentia. His family works under (quite literally) another family as the mechanics. The obtain scrap machines and make them work like new. In the same large hole under the ground lives 4 other families. Every adult living there does work in return for some money and continuing to live there. The conditions are not harsh and their business owner is quite generous.

After a while of living where they all lived, they became starved for space, so the solution was to dig for more space. Leo jumped in on this despite being only 12 years old His brother was not around at this time as he had moved out of the area to live his own life. They also would have to dig for room every so often just for the sake of getting older and needing more space. Leo was never considered any sort of prodigy or anything, he was rather average when compared to his family. The only thing that made him so special was his ability to fuel machines with his own metabolic activity. This was not implicated until Leo was 23 and made his first custom machine. It was a simple toy he made from boredom. His parents had developed an element from alchemy that managed to turn the liquid from Leo into an energy source. They have made a plentiful source for him, but he chose to make more of it on his own. He managed to do so using alchemy, but finds it very straining to do so, so until he perfects the art, he decided to make very little with it.

At the age of 37 he started to work with his family as a mechanic. His specialty was always the more robotic types. While he didn't particularly enjoy having to work so often, he certainly did like having something to do during the day. He never did go outside as he remained in his underground home. Nothing much has happened because of this. Up until today, he has chose to remain with this lifestyle, working as a mechanic underground.

Starting Location: Valentia; an underground den housing a few families of halflings.

tbh I don't see the need in having two Mechanics/inventors with almost the exact same abilities D: Kind of takes away my characters uniqueness :sad2:

Well I plan on doing more bio-editing, like the mount. They have similar abilities, yes, but in reality, are very different.

EDIT: I took off Mechanics eye for you, Squiddy.

FYI, I added this to my Orc bio but thought I would post it here so people can see too :)

'Orcish' Aphabet:
I created an Orc Alphabet for when Charles speaks in his own language.
Pink letters are the English Alphabet and the green is The 'Orcish' Alphabet.

A(I), B(P), C(S), D(M), E(A), F(Y), G(Q), H(B), I(U), J(D), K(V), L(K), M(R), N(W), O(E), P(X), Q(C), R(C), S(G), T(Z), U(O), V(N), W(K), X(L), Y(H), Z(J)

When writing in Orcish I will type like this:

"Bakke, rh wira ug Charles. Qek me heo me? (Hello, my name is Charles. How do you do?)"
The Orc said with a smile.

I'll try not to have him talk in 'Orcish' too much but I think giving him his own language is fun (Plus he'll probably swear in his language), and any characters that know multiple languages ('Orcish' being one of them) can use my alphabet too if you want.

The bio is intriguing, though out of all the abilities and such the only things that make me raise an eyebrow are the electricity:calorie and metabolism:fuel ratios. Whereas you state that 1 calorie can make the equivalent of 300 volts (30 ampheres) of fuel for your machines, in the following section you say that absorbing electricity yields a much higher gain: a 1:3 calorie:volt ratio. From 1:300 to 1:3 is a HUGE discrepancy, and doesn't exactly make much sense. Theoretically, your character could spend energy on his machines then use somebody else's machines to gain back more than what he spent in the first place. Due to the nature of this RP, machines played for laughs will be common (Rule of Funny), and I think this may give your character more than just a slight advantage over the rest of us. I'm not averse to absorbing electricity to gain energy; that is a good idea. I just think that the ratio you have is far too high and not sufficiently parallel with the ratio established in the Metabolism to Fuel ability. There's also a confusion with the ampheres in the Electricity to Metabolism section in that it doesn't line up with the established 1:30 ratio.

These are really the only issues that I see. There's one other that can be worked around easily, and that's just the practicality of having a large heavy mount. It will be rather inconvenient, as we'll probably spend most of our time walking through towns and forests/caves/whatever for quests and stuff.

Other than that, excellent bio!

I am SO gonna see if Phoebs can add that to the first page xD Very nice, though wouldn't you spell Charles "Sbickag" ;D

Haha well his name is an English name rather than an Orc name so it'd be spelt and said in English.

Glad you like the idea though! :britt:

@Maestro

First of all I apologize for the air-head moment I had there, forgetting one of my own races. :wacky: herp-derp.

Anyway, I have some tiny issues with the character beyond those that Jon was kind enough to mention for me.

Race: Halfling (85% Human 15% Elf)
I'm afraid you've misunderstood. Halflings, humans and elves are three completely different races! It's likely my own fault for not describing it better, but halflings are kinda like hobbits (they're barely 3 feet tall!), only they're not that stocky and don't have hairy feet. They do have slightly pointed ears though. I'm going to go fix the description in the first page and I'd appreciate it if you adjusted the Race bit and some elements of his appearance to match. Halflings can't hybridize with humans or elves, btw, too much different DNA.

I also agree with Jon about the practicality of a big and heavy mount like that, but it's your call. If you shrink it down to halfling size, it won't be that bad.

But do indeed take Jon's advice about the metabolism to heart, he's got a good point.

Starting Location: I meant to ask you about this, are there any undergorund cities/towns/villiages listed? None of them seemed to say they were...

Unfortunately there are no underground dwellings of Halflings in Boletaria, for a certain reason (don't make me do spoileeeeers), BUT you are free to assume that Halflings have underground dens (like in basements or cellars) and meeting houses in the bigger cities, like Esk, Valentia or even Flushlocke and Wispton. So you can start somewhere near the action and still stay true to the Halfling lifestyle. Halflings usually live in small communities within cities of other races and you are free to come up with a name for a community, and I'll include it in the first page descriptions. =)

Squid...I freakin' love you. I'm absolutely going to make this canon, because it's genius. I was already puzzling myself about languages and you solved one problem. =D Tolkien will solve the Elven one XD

I want to join. I mean, such a detailed rp with everything I love in rps - freedom, and lots and lots of comedy. The only thing that is halting me is the intimidation I'm getting from all of the great, and detailed temps/bios. Not sure I can live up to the expectations. :sad2:

D: Nuuuu, please don't be intimidated!!! Come back! *hugs* Don't worry about how your bio looks! Expectations SHMECTATIONS! The only expectation we have here is to have as much lulzy fun as we can! That's all we really care about (well that and God modding but that's a completely different animal) and I'm certain you can hit that note. Confidence, darling! Just create a character and you feel like it's too plain or something, I swear to my love for Cola that I will help you make it awesome! *takes her sacred Cola oath*

Speaking of which, I forget to ask, but... If you're going to use Tolkien's Elvish language, does that mean there are different types of Elves? Say, High Elves? Or are you specifically using one of the variants of the Elvish language (Among Tolkiens' works that is)?

How did I not catch that after re-reading it so many times :hmmm: Yeah that was an honest mistake, I meant to make his calorie intake less than his energy output, but alas, my math skills fail me again :sad3:

Fixed for a 1000 volt to 3 calorie ratio (My math wasn't something I was ever good in, if this still needs fixing just ask me.)

Simple misunderstanding on my end, fixed ^_^

I'll work on this after a good thinking.

But do indeed take Jon's advice about the metabolism to heart, he's got a good point.

I blame my bad math :wacky:

Works for me, I'll work on the history after I've had my coffee. (Yay coffee! :woo:)

Oh yeah, if you live in the US, never drink starbucks again...I work for a company that refurbishes them and you wouldn't believe the things I've seen...

D: Honestly, I don't know. We'll only have one type of elves, but I am tempted of using different regional dialects of Elven. I don't know, we might use Quenya but my knowledge of it is insanely basic--embarrassing almost.

I'm more tempted to just tell people to use a particular color or font when speaking Elven so that we don't all get headaches from trying to put Quenya into use.

@ Maestro: Thank you for being so understanding! =) I'll look over the fixed bio and approve once you finish the mount as well.

In other news, I'm up and working on on another character.

Yay you're better. :3

Oh yeah, if you live in the US, never drink starbucks again...I work for a company that refurbishes them and you wouldn't believe the things I've seen...

D: What's wrong with Starbucks? I enjoy their non-coffee beverages and sweets a lot...

No problem, I used to work with some MASSIVE derps durin RP and I really don't wanna be one of them D:

And if you like starbucks, are you sure you wanna know what I saw? You may never go in again D:

ElvenAngel

Okies! I went ahead and started my character, and he's not quite finished...well actually, more like I got half of the template/bio to do. :lew:

BUT! I do have a question! You mentioned in the OP that we can use other mounts as longs as their "realistic" and such. Whelp, would a Gryphon be doable? :gasp:

I quite like those flying bird-lion hybrids. :x3:

So yeah. >.>

SIGN ME UP, WOMAN! :woot: I'm totally joining this!

Name: Raz (yup, that's her name entire)

Alias: Sometimes her boyfriend calls her Razzles. But only he is allowed to call her that. Anyone else so much as teasingly calling her that will have a swift appointment with her fist. However, for her job, she often takes the name "Jingo".

Alignment: Chaotic Good. This means that she's a good person, but she doesn't care much for the law. If doing the right thing means breaking the law and busting some legal noses, that's fine by her.

Class: Raz is a mercenary. She does all sorts of jobs, from being a body-guard to a professional killer. If it pays well, and doesn't upset her sense of right and wrong, she'll do it.

Race: Human all the way, baby.

Gender: Female

Age: 30

Appearance: I'll keep it short. Raz is very tall; about 6' 3" and weighs about 218 lbs. She was part of a eugenics program designed to produce the best soldiers possible, and the goal was largely met with success. The selective breeding process became very good and Raz is one of those that was produced. The program was abandoned after only a few generations and those that it produced were left without a job or purpose by the Morris dutchy.

Raz is very strong and athletic, having led a very physically demanding and dangerous life. Do not underestimate her abilities -- she's incredibly well-trained and enjoys her job a little too much. She has straight black hair no longer than a little past her shoulders, often pulled back into a ponytail. Small scars of old wounds adorn her everywhere, a testament to how much action she has seen and survived.

Raz wears pants. *gasp* I know, so startling in medieval times. But she has no truck with idiotic clothing and is certainly not predisposed to "act like a lady." The one thing that is markedly unusual about her is her eyes.

The sclera (the white of the eye) is pure black, and the irises are blood-red. This was caused by a spell meant to enhance eyesight permanently. While the spell worked perfectly fine, it had an unforeseen side-effect of permanently changing the appearance of her eyes.

Raz can always be seen wearing some kind of light armor with a good, solid sword at her side. She has a tendency to wear fingerless gloves of her own design. She has a stylized tatoo of a dragon on her back, just between the shoulders, which she considers a good-luck charm.

Personality: Raz is seldom serious. She's the type of person that would listen to an evil villain's monologue and crack witty one-liners in the middle just to put him off beat. She teases her enemies and teases her friends even more. Not even the threat of death gets more than a witty joke or sarcastic zing.

However, she goes into battle with a dangerous bloodlust and dispatches her foes with a cold, methodical precision that is unnerving to watch. Her love for battle makes her a dangerous combatant, to both friend and foe. She is incredibly defensive of her friends, so don't threaten them. God help you if you do, because she WILL fuck you up faster than you can say "Oh shit."

First Impression: First impressions of Raz are always confused and intimidated at first. The obviously dangerous woman provides a unexpected anomaly right off the bat. Compounded by her sarcastic and witty way of talking, more uncertainty comes. But after a few minutes of talking with her, nearly everyone finds a delightfully funny and relaxed person that is a pleasure to talk to.

Statistics:

Strength: Raz is very strong. Obviously, she's been training all her life -- do not be surprised when she can lift 250 pounds (not easily, but she can do it). Since Raz is very fit, but appears rather slender because of her height, she is deceptively strong. If she were to punch a wooden wall, she'd probably break her hand -- and maybe put a small crack in the wall (building material is sturdy shit). She has no augmentations; just superior breeding and training. Let it be known, though, that she isn't a muscly beef-cake. She's strong enough for her needs (killing people) so don't expect her to go throwing cows or something.

Vitality: Raz has no augmentations -- she is just a very strong and very fit human. She wears armor that is magically enhanced because she can afford it, so she has a modest protection against both physical and magical attacks. One good attack on her, however, is sure to limit her capabilities, and she can't take abuse forever. She relies most on her speed and ability to kill with one thrust to protect her, which doesn't always cut the mustard.

Speed: Because of her long legs, Raz can be quite fast at full sprint: about 16mph, which is damn fast. She can't maintain it very long though, about 20 seconds on a good day. She is NOT a runner, as she'll sternly remind you. Her side-step is to be envied by many, but she isn't as fast as an elf or halfling. Her attacks are quite fast, since she wears light armor and practices with her weapons every day. She hasn't lived to be 30 as a merc through sheer luck. Raz is at her fastest when charging into battle. On scale of speed, 1 being a sloth and 10 being caffeinated halfling, Raz would be about a 7 -- the high end of the middle area, but rather fast for most humans.

Stamina: LOT'S OF STAMINA. She can march miles in armor to a battle and still kick lots of ass. Sometimes she's gone two days without sleep in pursuit of a tough target, took out the mark, and then walked back. Of course, she was practically unconscious for three days after that. Such feats aren't without their toll on her, however, as she needs plenty of rest afterward and adrenaline will only get one so far. But when she has to push the limits, only Olympians can compete. She has a very high-pain tolerance, as is to be expected, but there is only so much she can bear.

Reflexes: Raz has very good reflexes. Hair-trigger reflexes, I believe they're called. She's very fine-tuned senses which has allowed her to survive so long, and has enabled to her make split-second reactions which has saved her on more than one occasion. However, in the thick of battle, this all-around awareness is considerably dulled to unexpected outside influences and can leave her open. So far, her good reaction time has saved her. Her hand-eye coordination is almost perfect, but don't go expecting her to juggle seven balls. Her limit is four.

Fighting Style: Raz is an exceptional warrior in all aspects save one: Bloodlust.

Raz charges into battle with a bloodthirsty grin on her face. She can be surrounded by incompetent enemies and take a sickening glee in twisting and kicking and slashing them to bits. Her style is seamless and sadistic -- she'll turn, deflect an attack, slice his throat open, kick him into a charging enemy, and open another enemy from throat to groin like filleting a fish. Watching her fight is almost hypnotic, because she moves so quickly and kills so swiftly. Her fighting style is entirely offensive -- she has no use for a shield, but will occasionally use a dying enemy as cover before finishing them off.

She fights to win. Honor, code of combat, that's all bullshit. Whatever it takes to win, she does it.

She has been trained in a sufficient array of martial art styles, but her best is karate, the most offensive form. She does know quite a bit about the more defensive forms, but she doesn't use it all that often.

Weapons:

Thirst: This is the name of Raz's sword, so named because no sword drinks more deeply of blood than this one, and it's thirst is never slaked. The sword appears to be a typical, plain longsword, but has been enchanted to be very strong and incredibly sharp. No sword can slice through limbs, even with a powerful blow behind it -- this one can. Armor doesn't provide much of a barrier to Thirst, unless it is magically enhanced. Elegant and deadly runes decorate this blade from crossguard to tip.

True to it's name, Thirst literally draws power from the blood it "drinks" in a very illegal use of blood magic. The more blood that covers the sword, the more latent energy is stored away in the blade. When Raz speaks the command word and is in dire straights, the sword releases this energy in an uncontrolled burst -- it operates much like a flash-bang, very bright, very loud, and very disorienting, allowing Raz to escape or take advantage of her foes' blindess and deafness. It takes a long while to build up that much energy, however, so she seldom uses it.

She's also had it enchanted to shock anyone that tries to steal it; an enchantment she has to have renewed every year or so.

Wasp:This is the name of the hand-crossbow that she has had custom-made. It's nicely designed with pearl-handle pistol-grip and is relatively fast to reload. She's also had it enchanted to shoot much farther than normally would be allowed a crossbow (about 100 feet). Raz has occasionally bought some magically enhanced exploding bolts, a favorite of hers, but she prefers close quarters combat. Even so, sniping is a somewhat of a hobby of hers.

Fluffy: Yes, you read that name correctly. This is the name of Raz's wheellock pistol, a relatively new invention to Angria. It is really only good for one shot, being slow to reload, but Raz enjoys using it in the most unlikely of situations. Sometimes she runs into marks to magically protected and too heavily armored for her to handle, and this little puppy has just the bite she needs.

How the pistol got the name is a rather humorous story involving a wheel of cheese, a set of bagpipes, and wet cat.

Mounts: Raz has no mount. She will 'rent' a horse when she needs to get somewhere, but other than that, she has no mount. She does have house-cat name Havoc though....

Abilities: Raz has no abilities.

Magic: Thanks to the double-edge spell, Raz has very good eyesight which will not deteriorate as she ages and also prevents her from going blind. Other than that, she has no magical talents, except for what enchantments she paid for on her weapons.

Other Skills: Raz is very good at haggling and intimidating. She has a remarkable talent to pretend doing one thing when actually doing another (for example, acting utterly drunk when she's really listening in on a conversation).

She has an unparalleled ability for getting around locks.

Raz has some middling talent in disguising herself, as her unusual eyes can set people off and a disguise is sometimes needed to get close to a mark. It doesn't always pay to be an obvious BODYGUARD because that means she'll be the first taken out. But there's nothing she can do about her height.

Raz cannot cook; this should be emphasized. But she is a dab hand at some first-aid treatment. Raz can also swim rather well and she enjoys reading, with a very unexpected fondness for poetry, but only when Jazz reads it to her.

Raz also has eidetic memory, having the ability to recall anything that she has heard before. Her memory is not photographic; this only applies to what she has HEARD.

History: Raz has no real family to speak of, except for the others that were in the breeding program started by the Morris dutchy. Bred and raised to be the perfect bodyguards to the increasingly paranoid royalty, Raz excelled in her training as did the others.

Raz spent her entire childhood through physical training and learning all the myriad ways to inflict death in the quickest way possible upon any being in the known universe. She was also taught how to read, write, and some rudimentary math and science. She acquired her name because of her snarky and witty attitude; she was often called "Razzmatazz" which has just been shortened to 'Raz'. None were given surnames as this was considered unimportant.

Raz was never called upon to actually guard the royal family, however, as the training and eugenics program was mysteriously dismissed without any reason. The guards were given a sizable amount of gold and told to leave. Resentful that she would not accomplish what she'd been born to do, Raz instead became a successful mercenary. The others followed her example, and she's collaborated with them at times on certain jobs.

Raz was 27 when she met Jazz, a musician and instrument-maker. The circumstances under which they met were unexpected -- Raz had just narrowly escaped pursuit (a large band of heavily-armed men and a mage for good measure) who were looking to eliminate her to get to her current employer. She had dodged into the nearest building which happened to be where Jazz was working on a harp. She motioned for him to be quiet and asked to wait until the group gave up searching for her. Jazz was fascinated by such an unusual person which foreshadowed what was to come. They somehow ended up running into each other quite often after that, and soon became friends, then became more than friends over the years. Though not officially espoused, the relationship is plain to see, and Jazz is the only person in the world that can calm Raz down when her rage boils over.

Raz has had many adventures and seen a sizable part of the world. She was a key-piece in a few rebellions (or the suppressing thereof) because of her ability to protect her employers incredibly well and take out those few people too heavily guarded for all but the best assassins. Raz is much cheaper to higher than the best of assassins, but her services and style do not always warrant her hiring. Because she's such a useful commodity, no one has targeted her for elimination...... yet. Her sometimes well-known roles in protecting people of state has earned her the alias "Jingo". (look it up if you don't know what it means.)

Raz has a modest home in the capital of Morris, not far from where Jazz operates his shop. She has a cat named Havoc, who she loves dearly and is the only creature in the world that can reduce her into a cooing, cuddly idiot.

At the moment, she is in between jobs, but she has plenty of money to hold her off for a while. In fact, she's one of the richest mercenaries in the world and that's because she's lived so long that she's been able to amass quite an amount in her name. Even so, she lives modestly and within her means. Her love is in combat, not silk tapestries and velvet gowns.

Starting Location: The capital city of Morris.

BUT! I do have a question! You mentioned in the OP that we can use other mounts as longs as their "realistic" and such. Whelp, would a Gryphon be doable? :gasp:

:3 knock yourself out.

@ Dragon Mage - I LOVE HER. Finally we have a full blooded human and she's AWESOME. Approved. :3

Commence jubilant dancing!

:nana:

Yeah, I wanted Raz to be the top that the human race could offer. Since humans are a generally good, all-rounder race, just so with Raz. She isn't a god of anything by any means, but for humans she's one of the best. To other races, however, she's average. Not as fast as an elf, for example; not as tough as an orc; not a strong as a half-fiend.

Even so, humans are awesome. :ryan:

Quick question for the GM's. If we want to have NPC's that are directly related to our characters that we want to be the main controllers of, but still allow the control of others, does there need to be a bio for them?

Also, let's say I want Mystro's father to pop in on a rare occasion, could I do this? I ask because I see nothing about 100% demons, but Mystro's father was indeed a 100% dragoon.

Nah, you can go ahead and just control them. Eventually we'll put up an info thread where we will include major, recurring NPCs as the party runs into them.

Incidentally...wow, we'll have a 12-person party. XD How AWESOME is that?
