[T] The Hideout

:lew:
I'm a little late with my games at points, I wasn't interested in it until I saw a YouTube vid that piqued my curiousity.

There is a difficulty after Hard, it's Non Stop Infinite Climax, which has more agressive angels, they have higher HP and the kicker - Witch Time's disabled completely.

Looking forward to that one. :mokken:

Bayonetta is rich in innuendo, to the point that it loses its funny by...Iunno, the first five minutes. Still, shit sells to horny basement nerds.

I still have to flog Bayonetta, all the more reason to get round to making that Ebay account, I've got games I've been wanting to sell for ages, clothes and other shit too. I've been resisting the urge to buy games until Duodecim. Or at least until I complete Re:Coded, which btw, starts of quite naff but gets much better as you play more.

So, I load this thing onto my PSP and get a nifty red screen. OH SHI- but then it quickly went away, and it loaded up like normal. Most everything is in Japanese text... So... Yeah.

However, I can tell you that the first thing I see when I load up the story mode is "Main Scenario 012: Treachery of the Gods"

Cosmos is all sitting around, talking to Lightning, and... I think they're going to force me to play as her. FUCK.

More rune speak and text as Lightning and Cosmos talk about more, probably over dramatized bullshit. Jecht comes out of fucking nowhere, and starts talking to Lightning in more rune speak. This just keeps getting better and bett- Oh look, it's Kain. Well at least there is one character hanging around that I like.

Now if I could only understand what the fuck they're saying.

God damn it, Lightning. Shut up, no one likes you. You can definitely tell she's a woman because she's talking TWICE AS MUCH AS THE OTHER TWO.

Warrior of Light shows up and says what I can only imagine is, "Time to go, shit just got real".

After the cutscene is over, we meet up with Golbez and The Emperor, and they're looking twice as douche as usual.

God fucking damn it, I'm now playing as Lightning with Warrior of Light as my assist. FUCK.

Lightning plays like a slightly faster Squall... Kind of. Dodging seems different, and assists can be used to stop an enemy from getting to a Ex Sphere. Also, I did something called an "assist charge". No clue as to how I did that, or what it accomplished.

Now we're fighting Kefka and the FFVIII bitch apparently. It's in a FFXIII area... Just fucking peachy.

DAMN IT, KEFKA, QUIT SPAMMING THE SAME ICE ATTACK OVER AND OVER AGAIN

Okay, so I can't play with Lightning. Fuck she moves too slow. Where the fuck is Zidane? I would have owned the clown ghost face killah in 2 seconds. Fucking assholes and SE won't break out the FFIX love. :hmph:

Also, Lightning's Ex move kind of sucks, but I messed up the command thing anyway due to the fact that I can't read moon runes.

Oh great, throw out some Sephiroth. Fucking bitches know how to grind my gears, that's for sure.

FINALLY, L + O activates Assist... And it missed. Thanks for nothing Warrior of Light. -__-

Killed the emotard. One of Lightning's HP attacks is a mid ranged lightning (LOLICWATUDIDTHAR) attack. Kind of useful.

Oh... Great... Emo bitch Cloud wants to play. Damn it, SE. :ffs:

OH SHIT, WE'RE FIGHTING ON THE PRIMA VISTA

Okay, SE, I forgive you for the shit cast of characters.

Random off topic, the music is quite good.

Anyway, time to fight CLAWD.

Did Lightning's Ex move right that time. It's not bad, but still kind of shabby. Also, Cloud, what's up with those clothes? You look 4 times as gay as usual.

Ended it with the mid range lightning attack.

Clouds talking now, and I get some overly pseudo dramatic music. Typical FFVII bullshit.

Another nifty cutscene where I understand nothing.

Now Kain and Jhect are back... I wanted to play as Kain, damn it. I got fucking jipped.

You know, Lightning sounds better in Japanese... When I can't understand what she's saying. OH, ENJOY THAT DIG THERE, FFXIII FANS?!

That was the end of the Story Demo, apparently. They're giving me items now... But I know not what they do. :gasp:

Playing blackjack mode now. Going to try out Kain. :ryan:

Also, let it be said that the cast they give you to choose from in the demo mode... Sucks.

Oh shit, Kain has some quad spear stab shit going on here.

Kain is awesome.

His moves are mainly close to mid range, with one long range HP attack. His brave attacks will fuck you sideways.

GOD DAMN, I AM FUCKING BITCHES UP WITH KAIN.

Kain has a long ranged brave attack that knocks the enemy up, and towards the player. I just cockblocked Lightning from getting the Ex sphere. :ryan:

I CAN'T USE KAIN'S EX MODE BECAUSE I'M KICKING ASS TOO FAST! :rage:

Anyway, that's all folks. Have fun with that. :ryan:

...:lew: That was quite the commentary Ringo, I have to say. Although I doubt I'll be getting Duodecim, mainly because I won't be getting a PS3.

Dollet's theme was godly.

That's all the themes that play for the first time in Dollet, and I have to say they're glorious. I'm a sucker for tense music like this, though I often find myself wanting an extension for Dead End and Starting Up. >.>

...I dunno why I said PS3. Probably because I was thinking of Nier Replicant when I was typing that. I so clever.

Am I the only one that didn't really enjoy the soundtrack from FFVIII all that much? Not sure what it is, but I really didn't enjoy it. :hmmm:

I suppose evryone has their own tastes. I personally thought Final Fantasy IX's soundtrack kinda sucked. Aside from the Beatrix battle theme, which was glorious. I can't understand WHY they hadn't replaced the last battle with her with the usual boss track. :ffs:

I still say that the best FF soundtrack goes to FFXIV. Yes, the game sucked major balls, and still does. BUT THAT FUCKING SOUNDTRACK IS TO DIE FOR.

Personally, I like the rapid violin and guitar stuff, and rarely go for the vocal stuff. FFXIV's track didn't really pack that punch that I liked to see in a game. It was nice, but that was all it was as far as I was concerned. I don't tend to like the dramatic vocals most of the time, and had to speed up the FFXIV tracks before I could enjoy them as much as I've enjoyed soundtracks like Persona, Digital Devil Sga, Wild Arms 2 and 5, and NieR.

That soundtrack is a liiiiittle too old fashioned for my taste. The style is a little western, and not the modern I tend to like, such as Wild Arms 5's Persephone battle theme. As well as that, too many battle themes have that flaw of having random tribal grunts and vocals which just don't work at all for me, completely killing the atmosphere of whatever I'm doing. I'm one of those weird people who won't buy a game just because I think the soundtrack sucks. >.>

I do like Shadow of the Colossus' OST. It packs that punch I like to hear when I'm pounding things into pulp and harvesting their corpses to sell at market. :andry:

I do prefer some other OSTs though. DDS. Wild Arms. The stuff that's not full of Western and whistling anyway. Aaand I love NieR's as of late.

I'm reeeeeally picky with my OSTs. I need good music. :ffs: You can easily please me with an average story, button mashing gameplay and a grindfest of a dungeon, so long as you ply me with music that will shock, delight, and pump me up.

I'm a sucker for KH music myself because I love piano and violin scores. Rep for anyone who can guess a theme I like/will like. ¬_¬ Tbh, I've pretty much enjoyed all the scores of all FF games, bar Crystal Chronicles, but in my books I prefer to forget them games exist. Tactics don't do much for me either mind.

If you asked for my favourite though, it would be between VI, VII, VIII and IX (Do I see a pattern here?) But among my favourites is FFIV's battle theme, very very underated imo.

But the new music of Duodecim goes between excellent and disappointing. FFIV's Battle 1 is amazing, as is Force Your Way, Grand Cross, and Esper Battle, but Summoned Beast Battle and Jenova are naaaaaff.

On the new cast though,I'm looking forward to playing as Tifa myself, I'm such a sap for Monks more than anything, plus she's such a sweetheart bless her. However, if they put in the original FFI Monk (Somehow) He'd be mained to hell and back, and Zell...I'd probably switch between him and Tifa a lot. (You can totally tell I used to love martial art films as a kid)

EDIT: Also, PRIMA VISTA <3 I was well chuffed when I found out about it, and when I first saw it in action...:ryan: Happy tiemz.

I loved FFIX's soundtrack the best out of all that I've played. FFVIII's was brilliant. For me, FFIX is the perfect FF for me. It's such a shame it's terribly underrated in some people's eyes.
