I was never great at fighting this guy. I managed to wipe the floor with him on Normal, but on Proud... I could just about knock him down to half health. It's not so much his 'difficulty,' as said before, he's relatively predictable. However he catches me with the end of his combo occasionally, and sometimes when he hit me into the air. That dash he does was pretty annoying when there was blatantly nothing I could do about it too, so only in that sense was he hard to kill.

And I hate it when he speeds up, dammit. >.<

In ascending order:
Easy
Normal
Proud

Anyway, Proud Mode is a difficulty setting, much to the equivalent of 'Hard.'
 
Everyone says how easy it is to beat him, but I had to get to lv. 80, and have Ultima Weapon to beat him. It also doesn't help when Donald and Goofy punk-out on ya, and leave you to fight Sephiroth alone.

Found him. I'm way too underleveled for him yet.
 
Honestly, I don't know why everyone is calling him 'hard'. Sorry to say, but he isn't. He's not that hard at all, you just need to know what your doing. And people suggesting level 80+? Again, I did this on Hard mode at level 68. You just need to know your stuff.

And please don't tell me crap like, "You probably faught him like, 9 bajillion times and know how to evade all his moves, and were stacked with Elixers" and things on that line. It took me 3 tries to beat him the first time (that was on normal), and I only had 2 elixers.

So just prepare yourself, as the first time you fight him, you'll probably most likely lose unless you've seen videos and know what to do.
 
hi potions work just as well
and you dont really need mp if you are using any mp haste ability
infact no mp is better cause you can use berserk charge against him

Using Curaga aids in the preservation of your items. By the time you feel qualified to face Sephiroth on any difficulty setting, you'll have a reasonable stock of Elixers anyway.

That, and Beserk won't save you if you need to deal the finishing blow.

You dont even need items really if you know how to time your guard correctly and you get him before he casts decend heartless angel
 
Yeah, well I'm trying to fight him at lv. 49. My leveling up is pretty long. I suppose I chose the slow-pace level up somehow.

That's a complete waste of inventory. You may as well use what Elixers you have, seeing as, duh, they max out your HP and MP. Anyone would have enough of them anyway, so it's pointless to use Hi-Potions and Ethers in the same fight... not efficient at all.
