Name: Eleanor Rose

Appearance: Tall even for a man at six foot two inches, Eleanor manages to maintain her feminine charm despite this height advantage, with a penchant for thick clothing and elegant wear that accentuates her tall stature and makes it seem grand and graceful.

With a pale face, a scarf made of thick cashmere material clashes well when wrapped around her neck. Ice blue eyes are often hard, again in contrast to her soft features, with frosty, vivid blue lipstick on her lips to both accentuate the clash and compliment her eyes alike.

With a black leather jacket over a plain white t-shirt, Eleanor shows nothing. She likes to keep things plain and simple, without fuss. She finally finishes this off with a long white dress, purple eyeshadow and eyeliner, and polished black heels

Weapon: A rapier that she can form at will, so it doesn't need to be sheathed after use, and can merely be materialised and dematerialised as she wishes.

Personality: A little aloof and without much emotion, Eleanor enjoys company, not that she'd ever admit it. However, she's a stoic individual who will never show her emotions, and prefers to keep stoic and quiet when there's nothing to be said.

However, when she does speak, she can be blunt, cold, and quite rude. She tells people the truth they don't want to hear, and doesn't give a damn that they don't want to hear it. She does this out of a questionable compassion, but she genuinely means well.

She can also be ruthless in punishing what she deems wrong, and can be more than a little cruel and painful with her punishments. However, she truly means well.

Abilities: Dark magic. The ability to cloak herself in shadow for camouflaging purposes, the ability to form spheres, knives and spears of magic, and use the darkness as a force field. It can be pitch black or translucent in appearance.

Ice magic: She can form spears of ice and attack the enemy directly by freezing and shattering their surroundings, as well as freezing inanimate objects.

Telekinesis: The ability to lift an inanimate object the size of a car. She can do this with other people, but if they can resist her pull, which an inanimate object obviously can't, this technique is ineffective.

Force Fields: She can either form a short range electrical blast which will repulse and shock those in close vicinity to her, or a single clear shield which will block attacks. Either way, the shield fades after three seconds, or when a moderately powerful strike hits it.

When/If Jess get in her character this RP will be closed off to any one else who want to join and this will be strictly a discussion thread. Additionally, at that time, anyone who has no finalized their bios will be considered finished and will be considered for nerfing.
 
Well, time to get this show on the road. A point of note, the board has been switched down from 50 to 25 tiles per side. Additionally, the original post will soon be modded to show movement rules.

Jess, you’re still open to join if you get a bio up in…one weeks time. As for the rest of you, I’ll be posting your starting tiles in this post. Nerfs will be added to it as well as put up in the first post along with character/player names and soulspike locations soon afterward. As said before, this RP will be closed at that time to new players.

Tiles are given to you by way of a general terrain description along with a few things of note. What you encounter is up to you as long as it fits the area around you. There will be times when if you are in a particular area I will tell you several things that can be examined and such. Whether you choose to or not is up to you. I think it bears saying in a new post that I'm giving those who signed up one week from this post to make their first post otherwise the mechanics of the game will kill you.

Have to keep progressing you know.
 
Name – Shadow Card, commonly called Shadow

Alignment – neutral

Race – Moogle. Little white creatures that normally have red pom-poms on their heads and small wings. while a common race, moogles tend to avoid humans who
ruffle their pom-poms. as such, they can be found in out of the way places, such as a cave or forest.

Gender – male

Age – general estimate of Shadow's age is 30, he doesn't age beyond that.

Appearance – Shadow is about the same size of a normal moogle, maybe 3 feet tall, 50 pounds, little wings, pom-pom, etc. however, Shadow's eyes are dark green, his fur and pom-pom grey, and his wings are black as night.

Attire – Shadow wears armor regularly.

Personality – Shadow is a loner. A severe distrust of others was placed in him after his home village was destroyed, so he avoids physical contact with those he is not fighting. He is distant and calm thinking. While he is distant from many, he gets along extremely well with other moogles. as such, he is a hero among moogles, but a powerful and feared warrior among the other races.

First Impression – Your first impression if you ever saw Shadow would be that he is the incarnation of darkness, due to his appearance. When asked who he is, he would only respond with his name and a glare at whoever asked him that question. Asking him about his family isn't a wise idea, as all it'll earn you would be a fiercer glare at you and him answering that they're dead. If moogles were to ask these questions, he wouldn't glare at them, and he would say a bit more. As such, races besides moogles tend not to associate with Shadow.

Strength – Shadow physical strength is far beyond a normal moogle's physical strength. A brick wall would fall under one punch from him, and someone with the stated stats (500 hp, no defensive add-ons) he would cut his hp down by 200.

Speed – Shadow, if he had a ten second head start, would only be able to run at about 10MPH, since he isn't a fast distance running moogle. however, as he trained long and hard on his evasion skills, he can sidestep all but the powerful warriors attacks easily. When against a worthy foe, it is quite a lot harder, but he does manage to sidestep from time to time. also, his attack speed depends on which weapon he is using. For his sword, think of an attack 2 seconds, for his scythe, an attack every 3 seconds.

Endurance – Shadow doesn't really notice wounds, but if attacked by a lethally sharp sword, it wouldn't go that deep in his skin unless wielded by a strong opponent, for the shadows in his skin make it as tough as a dragon's scales would be, maybe even tougher. He could run, at top speed anyways, for about 5 minutes before he ran out of breath.

Reflexes – Shadow is paranoid, so he reacts to every twitch that anyone makes. As such, if he saw a weapon coming for him, he would react in less than a second
and a bullet shot would make him roll away from wherever he was standing before.

Fighting Style – Shadow tends to do what his opponent does, like if his opponent fought with honor, he would as well, but if he fought with cowardly tactics, then so would Shadow. Shadow normally takes fights as if it was something he does everyday. When he fights someone who he deems worthy of his attention (AKA RPers) he becomes more serious, and watches his back in case of a trick or surprise. While in his shadow form, he ignores wounds unless they are extremely fatal, and he considers every option he or his opponent can make, the outcomes of these options, and then chooses the best one. Pretty much, he is a fighting machine while in shadow form.

Weapons – Shadow wields only two weapons: a scythe forged of the shadows themselves, and a gem sword made of the blackest of all gems, jet. The scythe can do many things to people, such as blinding them or poisoning them, and can cut through to people's very soul. The scythe is as black as night, and the steel of the blade is colored the same as the wood. His sword is a bit stronger than his scythe, but it doesn't do anything other than physical damage. The gem itself was flattened enough so it could be the blade of a sword. his weapons are actually very light, allowing him to move nimbly throughout the battlefield.

Armour – His armor is be cloth made of silk and shadows. Because of the contact with shadows during the creation process, the silk became the same color as his weapons, so he can easily conceal them on his body. It is resistant to most magics, and offers a decent amount of protection from physical attacks as well. His necklace also adds to his magical resistance, as well as allowing him to enter a shadow form that is twice as powerful as his normal form. However, he only activates it as a last resort or when he extremely pissed off.

Abilities – Shadow has many abilities with his weapons. One of them, a universal weapon ability he has, is to fade into the shadows and have his shadow fight for him so he can sneak around and surprise attack his foes. Another ability, used with his scythe, is to summon a giant ball of shadow and encase the battlefield in it. It tends to blind the foes on the field and also allows Shadow to unleash a flurry of attacks without the fear of being seen too well. Also with his scythe, he can drain part of a foes soul, healing himself and damaging his foe. Usually unblockable, his soul drain ability can be blocked by someone who is very resistant to magic. With his sword, he can unleash a quick flurry of attacks from a distance with his powers over shadows. By using these shadows, he fires beams of shadows at his opponent from a distance, making his fighting a bit safer for him. Also with his sword, he can step into a shadow and reappear in another, allowing him to easily avoid attacks. Another universal ability he has is to become somebody else's shadow, fighting with their abilities and techniques.

DETAILS ABOUT ABILITIES

Shadow Fighter: Whenever Shadow doesn't feel like fighting, he has the shadows do it for him by having them assume his likeness and wielding the scythe. As the shadow fights his opponents, Shadow uses his inherent ability to walk through shadows to appear behind one of his opponents and hit them in the back. It is only half his power than normal however, since the shadows are using his shadow which contains half of his power. After he strikes, his shadow rejoins him, and Shadow is once again whole. This only drains a little from him for his vitality, as the shadows use their own energy to power this ability.

Shadow Possession: Using this power, Shadow assumes the form of his opponent, except he's colored like a shadow. During the time he does this, he can use all of his opponent's abilities and magicks that his opponent has used so far, making it a one-on-one with the opponents self. As his opponent uses new abilities and magicks, Shadow learns them and uses them against him. This drains a lot from Shadow however, as he must perfectly become his opponents shadow, with his current vitality and everything.

Umbra Orb: A rarely used ability, Shadow draws shadows in together into the form of an orb. once it has gotten big enough (over the course of actually a second) he launches it at the battlefield, encasing it in darkness and usually harming his foes by the force of the impact. While the field is encased in the shadow, Shadow unleashes multiple attacks upon his foes in the relative safety of the darkness. This move is actually quite draining, as Shadow has to move quickly in order to unleash his attacks and to conjure the orb, for the orb disappears after a limited amount of time. that time period usually varies with the time of day. If it's night time, it'll end when dawn comes. If it's day, it'll end within a minute.

Soul Drain: By using his scythe, Shadow cuts through an opponents mental forces to his soul and cuts away part of it,and, if it's successful, absorbing it to heal himself. This doesn't drain him in any way, however Shadow sees this as a breach of someone's personal thoughts. As such, this isn't an often used ability.

Shadow Strike: While wielding his jet sword, Shadow unleashes beams made of shadows that are formed like slashes at his foes at a distance. This allows him to hit his foe from multiple different angles, all the while keeping his distance from his foe. This technique, although not very draining, is one of his few ranged attacks. As it requires him to aim, there is a very brief period in between a volley of 6-10 beams. During that brief time, a smart foe could attack him.

Shadow Dance: While using this technique, Shadow walks in and out of shadows all around the battlefield, confusing his opponent and making him hard to hit. At the end of his technique, he appears behind his opponent and unleashes a flurry of attacks at his backside. This technique drains as much energy as running around the battlefield would, however it also drains his mana as he needs it to enter the shadows and come out of them very quickly.

Magic – Shadow, wishing to see his dead family and friends, decided to study necromancy shortly after the death of his village. he now knows enough to summon undead creatures to fight for him and teach him.

summon skeleton (fighter): Shadow can't fight alone, but he doesn't like to associate with people who shun the shadows more than he has to. With his study of necromancy, he found that he doesn't have to. when outnumbered, Shadow summons skeleton fighters to aid him. although powerful, this ability drains half of Shadow's magical ability, plus it's unreliable, as it doesn't work when there are no corpses nearby. this takes a couple seconds, as he must find the corpses under the ground with his shadows before he summons them.

summon skeleton(archer): Shadow doesn't have any ranged attacks, which hurts his fighting ability a ton. however there are those in ages past who do use bows, so Shadow uses this to his advantage. this ability drains as much from him as the skeleton fighter and is also as unreliable.

Summon magi ghost: Shadow doesn't like to rely on magicks, so he gets those who do to aid him. Ghosts are nearly impossible to hit with anything but magic, so they tend to wield magic themselves, as they can't really uses physical objects. As such, magi ghosts give Shadow support. This ability is almost always a success when used, but it drains a bit more from him then when summoning skeletons. It is a bit faster as well.

Other Skills – Shadow has a shadow form that he invokes via a necklace worn around his neck. The shadow form turns Shadow's fur black, and make his eyes glow. it also doubles his strength and mental powers, making him twice as tough as he normally is. this form doesn't drain anything from him, but he doesn't use it unless he's really pissed off or as a last resort. this is because of a fear of going berserk and attacking everything around him.

History – Shadow is somewhat unique among moogles. When he was born, a power outage mysteriously went throughout all of the cities of the world, and it was nighttime, as such the world was encased in shadow momentarily. When he reached age six, he found that shadows seemed to follow him and he talked to them, with them being the only friend he had as other moogles avoided him due to his weird origin and the fact that he was colored like a shadow. At age ten, monsters invaded his home village, forcing all those who could fight to do so. Shadow joined those who could, as the shadows had made him a scythe and presented it to him as a gift. During the fight, he fought with his scythe and the shadows summoned creatures to help him. As the battle waged on, other moogles were killed, and as Shadow noticed this, he began to get angry. When his father fell, fatally wounded, he went berserk, and the shadows surrounded him. As they did so, Shadow felt a new power awakening within him, so he used the power and finished off the monsters that were attacking. When the monsters were only corpses on the ground, the shadows left his body, and he ran over to his father. Shadow's father saw him, and told him to protect the village. As he said this, he gave Shadow his personal sword, the gem sword forged of jet. Shadow promised to fulfill his father's wish, and continued to protect the village with the aid of the shadow. One day, when he was out hunting, he heard screams from the village. As he rushed back there, he saw men using machines to destroy the moogles and their home. Furious once more, Shadow entered his shadow form again and slew all of the men except a few which escaped. He vowed to bring justice to these men, and ever since he wandered the earth and alternate dimensions, never growing older because of the tragedy allowed the shadows to stop his aging process at that specific age, so he stayed physically fit. A little before he entered a new dimension the first time, he found a source of jet and copper. With these two metals, he forged his necklace, which held his shadow form within it. Sometime in the second dimension he entered, he stole some silk and with the silk, enhanced by his shadows, he created his armor. In that same dimension, he found that there was a type of sorcery, necromancy, that could revive the dead. When he found this out, he began to study necromancy, looking for teachers across the dimensions. Shadow now knows a bit of it,enough to summon the undead and to have them fight for him and teach him, but he doesn't know enough on how to revive them. Now he just wanders all of the dimensions, seeking those who attack moogles, and killing them.

So....Update.

4] On special consideration, SS has joined us under certain conditions under contract so hopefully there won't be a reason why he deserts us this time.

Name: Haku Ikonomou

Age: 16

Weapon: He has a six shooting revolver. It Is rather basic.

Personality: He’d rather avoid conflict, doing anything he can to stop it, but he won’t run from a fight unless he fears for his life. He tends to make bad jokes with a soft smile when in an awkward position. Calling him leader material would be far from the truth. Choosing to be a follower would be his safest bet due to his inability to plan ahead with groups, but he makes a very good solo worker. Hiding his main skill, as he is very excellent at hiding himself because he always had to in his original world. He is also an escape artist, so good it is near impossible to capture him without the use of magic or triple checking the system in which he is held, but that may not even work.

Abilities:
Hide: He can make himself undetectable to any kinds of ESP or telepathic connections. He is also capable of making heat vision not sense his body heat. That is as far as this ability goes,

Temperature control: He can control temperature at slow rates, changing the temperature of either the air or something he is holding at a rate of 3 degrees Celsius per second. That is all this ability does.

History: Normally in his world, known as Hell, he was just a boy running from the various demons and other inhabitants of Hell that tried to kill him. Over time, he managed to get good cardio and became a master of escape and hiding. His powers that he used were always very handy for what he was doing, making him nearly perfectly undetectable.

However, one day, things changed as he woke in a new world. A note saying he was brought into a sort of game. There was also now an odd spike within his body. He chose from here to do what he did best. From the sounds of it, he would have to fight some people. He made one friend on this place. They had an agreement to fight side by side and if it came to the two of them, have an honest duel to decide the winner. However, it did not come to this. One day, his friend and himself were attacked. Pulling out his revolver, he attempted to shoot at the attacker, but instead hit his friend. Devastated, he took his friends knives and killed the original attacker. He then gave the knives back and gave this person a proper burial, since they were friends. There is now one left from his endeavors in the game so many years ago. Now, for 121 years, he has been in hiding from anyone that may run the risk of finding him.
 
This now bears mentioning since we now have three characters with possible mounts. Movement increases to 6 squares per day, 7 if you're traveling through a home tile. That is to say that if you are traveling through your mount's native terrain, it moves faster.
 
My character also has a possible mount, just throwing that out there. :wacky:

Sounds like a plan. It's still running somewhat slow, and at times, shit won't go through. Hopefully, things will be better by then.

Same, in fact, it's slower than before. Not to mention how hideous it is. The whole thing looks like a mess...

Cleaning at the moment though. I don't really know what to do next though. Is there a clue given on where to head? We just wander around until we find each other and fight? o.o Imma take Never someplace and just have him roam until he exits the library. ^_^
 
I should have a post in by today or tomorrow, probably after I submit my other bio into the Heroes' Section, which should be sometime today. Kind of slacked off when the forum got a new server, but now that they fixed the old skin and things aren't perfect but tolerable, you should see a post by me soon.

. . . Just roaming through the desert on a giant scorpion . :wacky:
