Sephiroth is my chice for the ultimate FF bad guy I have a penchant for swords and l'm in theprocess of f trying to attain a Masamune to go with my Buster Sword and me Revolver
Anyway as sign of undying admiration for the guy I want to express the effect he had on FF he finally gave the FF antagonist some balls, having played Dissidia to within 97% It gave greater insite into the earlier Main badguy's.

They dont the same kind of.....hutzpah of Sephiroth there not a bunch panzies but visual details presented in dissidia have given FF Villains 1-6 a more level playing field for these kind of Questions without the need to know all of there stories bit even that does not put them in Sephs league

I'd say the Emporer was the nastiest...I was just intimadated by him and really can't describe any other reason.
So the Silver Medal goes to Kefka! Not only was he the most insane villain, he poisened a castle's water,
killed the Emporer,
and freakin'
destroyed the world!
He has some awesome lines to.
I guess Sephiroth would be 3rd since it feels like he's there all the time, and he basically wanted to destroy everything.

IMO, Kefka was one of the most evil Final Fantasy villains EVER. As many people have said, he was a very sadistic person who enjoyed seeing people suffer. In addition, he was probably one of the few (or, possibly, the ONLY) villain to have attained his goal: to destroy the world.

The Emperor.

He not only seeks global domination by any means necessary, he proves he's not just another would-be tyrant by conquering Hell. Yes, the man was so wicked, so full of greed, that he subjugated the dimension full of wicked and greedy souls and demons.

And the good part of him went on to "Heaven" and...still tried to conquer there.

Jesus Christ. What does it say abou ta man who's "good side" still seeks dominance over everything?

I also don't consider many of the villains listed "evil."

Kefka was insane. He had no ability to control himself, just like real life psychopaths do not.
Kuja was just trying to save himself from dying while also proving his worth.,
Yu Yevon was just trying to protect his beloved people.

I have not beaten FF3 or 5 yet so I can't say how evil Cloud of Darkness and Exdeath are but after The Emperor, Ultimecia seems the most evil. Look at what she did to the planet when we travel to her future.

Very good argument for the Emperor. This, as well as some others, made me reconsider my rankings and I think I'll put him as #2. I still vote for Garland simply because he discovered immortality through Chaos. Emperor definitely bumped up in my book, though.

Spoiler alert, read at your own risk.

I voted Kuja, but after that I realized it went to the most "evilest". So, like the majority, I'd say Kefka. I don't need to say it as most of you already have, but the guy's a freakin' psychopath strong enough to accomplish his goals in the end. It's like a scary movie (no, not the s**t we been getting lately, I mean something like the old Friday the 13th movies or somewhere in that league) where the bad guy wins.

Silver Medal goes to Emperor. I mean, gimme the name of another villain who was ever revived with the power of Hell by his side? And while he was alive, he caused so much destruction that Bafsk, Salamand, and Fynn become the only towns with any life remaining. Yikes!

Bronze goes to Kuja. Granted, no one likes his fashion sense. Apparently for those people, it's easy to miss what this guy can actually do. He's definitely brains over brawn, as he was able to use Zidane for his own dirty work more than once. Plus, with the power of trance by his side, he destroyed an entire world and was going to add Gaia to the list. If Zidane and co. wouldn't have beaten him, he could have brought the end of Gaia (and perhaps the universe) if he had destroyed the crystal.

Tie for 4th place go to Garland and Seymour, as both had similar plans to somehow live forever. 5th to Ultimecia, and 6th to Sephiroth. I don't know much about the other villains, so if I ever play their respective games I'll probably change my mind.

If Dissidia taught me anything, then they are all evil in their own way....

But Yu Yevon however, is religion...and we all know Religion is the purest of good AND evil depending on the outlook on what it can do, so I vote Yu Yevon.

Also, I think Seymour was truly an evil person as well...he manipulated everyone to thinking he was so innocent when his plans were spontaneous with marrying Yuna, stopping the heroes quest AND wanted to become immortal in Sin forever and watch people die!

I know not many people would agree, but I really like Ultimecia, *points to avatar*..

Not sure exactly what it is, obviously some others are way more fleshed out. I just like sorceress characters alot I guess.

I do very much like Kefka and Sephiroth too though of course. :)

I don't consider "most evil" or "most successful" to necessarily be indicative of the best villain. That's why I'm going with Sephiroth. Sure, he wasn't a demon & he didn't blow up the world, but he was one sadistic son of a bitch, & a master planner, to boot. He didn't need to pull the party's strings to get what he wanted, he just did it anyway.

Also, the great thing about Sephiroth's motivation is that he doesn't have some kind of Freudian Excuse. He's not insane & he's not the incarnation of evil. He does not have some kind of "greater good" at heart. Sure, he's had a rough past & plenty of reason to be pissed off, but at the end of the day, what's more evil than someone who just decides that your life & everyone else's is worthless in the face of their ambitions?

I also find him more relatable than most of the villains. I mean, in his situation, who wouldn't develop a lust for power & vengeance?

As for some of the others:

Kefka-He's pretty good, he's just not my flavor of villain. I do have to note, though, that Kefka is NOT a psychopath. A psychopath is not "someone who can't control themselves." A psychopath is someone who seems to lack empathy. Not all psychopaths are serial killers, either. It's estimated that 1 in 3 people fits the psychological profile for psychopathy.

Garland-If it weren't for the time loop undoing him, he would probably be the most successful villain. He terrorized that world for hundreds of years, & Dissidia actually gave him a pretty decent background for why he was doing it.

Emperor-He's definitely a runner-up, but he could use some development. There seems to be something there regarding his remarks about human nature, but it needs expanded upon.

Zemus-I have to give credit where credit is due, even though he only appears once, he is a master strategist. From orbit he manages to control the events of an entire planet to his end. Unlike Cloud of Darkness or Necron, he isn't JUST a Giant Space Flea From Nowhere.

guys really i think that sepheroth is the best villen in the hole FF series becues he could beat up all of them at once with one of his best moves ever and that is meteor. None of them would stand a chanse with him at that point.

i say Kuja was the baddest bad ass in FF. he literaly destroyed a whole planet while trying to kill zidane and the gang

Best villain? Kefka hands down. He was a complete psychopath who:

Not only committed a major war crime in Doma, he also hated everything - including the world itself. He doesn't care about anyone but himself; he probably laughs when his minions died. He also became power-hungry with every step down the path and insanity and in the end had control over the Warring Triad, killing many who he once worked for and with (e.g. Leo and Gestahl). Then he simply ruined the world, built a tower and looked around the world for defiant towns to smite with his light

Kefka wasn't evil, I would describe him as being more mentally unhinged and in desperate need of some serious counselling. He belongs in a padded cell. Sephiroth is nasty, like Kefka, but unlike Kefka, he's mentally sound, so he probably realises what he's doing, which makes him evil. Kefka's so deranged, half the time, I reckon he doesn't even realise what he's doing, and therefore he can't be held responsible for his actions, so he doesn't qualify as being evil.

i say kuja cause he destroyed terra and almost destroyed gaia aswell since he found out tha he was a mortal it wasnt fair to the world to exist with out him thatswhy he wanteed everything gone

Without a doubt, Exdeath is the most evil villain in the series. Unlike most of the other villains who turned evil due to personal reasons or a lust for power, Exdeath was born as a being of pure evil. His evil was not caused by insanity(Kefka), a lust for power(The Emperor and some of the other major villains), or a feeling of racial superiority(Zemus).

Exdeath's evil was driven by the fact that he was born a being of pure evil, the human-like manifestation of a tree that had many evil souls sealed within it. He had no issue causing earthquakes and burning down the Forest of Moore and. Once he gained control of the void, he uses its power to erase numerous towns from existence.

Once the void is used against him, his evil grows to the point where he sets out to erase everything in existence including himself.

That's the thing that pushes him over the top for me. Exdeath was not willing to simply stop at destroying the world. He went to the next level when he tried to destroy everything in existence, including himself.

Exdeath deserves to be called the evilest of them all. Unlike the other villains, he was never a normal person that may have had hints of goodness in themselves at some point before turning to evil.

He was a being of pure evil, born from a collection of evil souls. Even Kefka and Sephiroth were once normal humans who may have been somewhat decent people before they were driven to evil.

Exdeath was born a monster.

I voted Kuja, but I think the above poster makes more sense than all of us. Best of the best? I don't know. But no one except Exdeath was born evil, and this topic is about the evilest of them all.

I would change my vote if I could.

I thought the poll would ask the same thing as the title so I marked Exdeath. But the best is Kuja.

Kuja all the way. He was sane unlike Kuja, and he wasn't reviving somebody, it was all for himself. He didn't care who he hurt, he just wanted certain people gone. Kefka was mental, and Sephiroth just wanted his mother (or something like that, I havent finished VII)
