They rock of Awesome?

Yknow I just love how the english language is either evolving or dying a slow and painful death.

But yeah those pictures are Great and it wouldbe an honour to add them to my collection of great FFVII pictures

The Materia System huh? how many has that been talked about........Tell me this if there was a system to be carried over to other FF games would this be the one? certainly its not as convoluted as the Junction system or as simple as the Skill system in FFIX?

Hey! I'll have you know I'm a very good writer with multiple novels underway and a whole horde of short stories already! It's creative license! :P

Besides, 'rock of awesome' sounds a lot better than 'reek of awesome' don't you think? Besides, the physical implications of that don't add up, since how could one possibly smell the awesome from a computer screen? No, it simply doesn't translate well at all. Besides, thanks to the enduring legacy of the 50's and 60's and the modern Guitar Hero everyone knows what 'rock' means, and the awesomeness therein.

Yes, I am deeply aware of the irony of using 'awesomeness' in a sentence after establishing that I'm a writer that flamboyantly uses her artists' license. :P


Materia system would definitely be the one to carry over to other games. It actually gave you a sense that you could, you know, control a part of the game. And, FF being a self-styled role-playing game (what a load of crock!), control is a defining characteristic of that genre. Besides, it was fun to see what you could do with it and it really did spread your protection that much further. So yes, materia system hands down!

Ah D.Mage that made me :)........Anyone else annoyed/surprised by the fact that the All Materia did not work on High level spells like Flare/Tornado/Quake/Freeze?

Here are some of mine:

Bahamut/MP Turb..............its like Turbo Bahamut!

Um.......Deatrhblow/HP Absorb Big damage and healing nice!

Ahh.......An oldie but a goody......Final Attack/Phoenix..........it reeks of awesomeness lol

Well tha about it more are just reglar, run of the mill combos

My favorite was probably Hades/Element on either weapon or armor. It would inflict poison, and some other neat stuff that I can't remember now. :P
 
My favorite Materia combo's this will be difficult seeing as I never mastered that damn system in the first place.

But I usually combine a Mastered All with Fire 3, that's my signature combo, that's my only one actually XD
 
Good to see two new members added to the club, Final Fantasy VII is hands down the best Final Fantasy game out there. :cloud:

It's got a really good soundtrack, the best cast of characters, a great story, excellent gameplay (the whole Materia system is very cool. :D)...it's got it all, and lots of it. xD
 
Did anyone think that making Reno a Funny Character in Advent Children was a great move? Cause Personally Reno+Rude was F*** Hilarious in Advent Children. Im just wondering if anyone else felt the same.

Every movie needs comic relief, and Reno & rude were a great addition to the film as whole.
 
Yes cause If you even try to think of that movie without those two it actually seems kinda Bland (Comedy-Wise). I just Enjoy the upgrade in personality for those two, cause i can't even remember what their personality's are like in FF7 (other than being Shinra Pricks)
 
You remember the part in the forest when they are over heard by Cloud telling each other there who they "like"? lol...........that was just a very bad translation of what they were actually trying to say, it made them sound juvenile.

And quite frankly they had no other people to give more personality to Reno & Rude were just bit players in the original game, So why not open them up?
 
Just a thought, has anybody mentioned the possibility of us making a FFVII RP?

With the amount of people we have here (don't know how many people are active) I think we could make a really good one.

Sorry if it's been mentioned before. I did look, but couldn't see anything ^^.
 
Sorry if I haven't been logged on all this time. I have been busy all this days so that's why I haven't been able to talk to you guys. Anyway as for the Final Fantasy VII RP, I think is a great idea to make a thread of it. Farro should make the thread since he is the one who came up with the idea. I don't know that much about RP so you guys could explain me how the RP works.

Im sure if we looked hard enough one of us could find a copy of the entire copy of the script for FFVII.............Im assuming Farro means to have an RP verbatim?
 
Good to see the RP idea's been well received!

I didn't have any story lines/plot's ready, as I thought I'd wait to see the interest in it.
Would use the FFVII world though: Cities, characters, materia system etc...

Ideally, I'd get some idea's from people before writing it up :D
