The Paths of Tragedy

After a brief amount of time, Cairn was finally summoned to be at the presence of the King of Seseu. As he went upstairs, remembering those days of ancient glory, Cairn could not avoid feeling proud of walking through the halls of honor, a place where the relics of ancient warriors are placed in displays to be appreciated by visitors. Cairn was lead by two guards towards the twin wooden doors that gave passage to the royal throne room. Soon, one of the guards announced Cairn as a former member of the royal army. Before him lied the king and his daughter, sitting on their thrones awaiting for an old friend. The king Balthasar Von Seseu was a man in his 50's, long white beard and mustache, and broad white eyebrows. He also had blue almost whitish eyes that shown wisdom and justice. The king of Seseu was wearing a red robe that covered his iron breastplate coated in gold and silver. The style of his crown was simplistic, yet it was beautifully decorated with jewels all around it. Besides him lied his daughter, Maria Rosalia Von Seseu, an angel with pure green eyes, long silver blondish hair, thin eyebrows, eyes, nose, and mouth, the very incarnation of one of the legendary elves renown for their unbelievable beauty. Both the king and princess greeted Cairn with much joy, for they have not seen him in months, fearing he had fell a victim of the imperials.

Cairn bowed formally and then stood firm and straight, his eyes fixed on the two members of the royal family. During a very pleasant conversation, the king and Cairn spoke about his whereabouts after quitting the royal army. Cairn explained why he decided to leave and why he remains as a mercenary instead of returning to the service. The king tried to convince him, but Cairn refused replying that he had yet to remove the stain of failure from his name.

Several hours later, the king agreed to help Cairn on his quest to discover the true source of the Empire's tyranny, granting him permission to take one of the airships at the service of the kingdom of Seseu. Cairn thanked the King for his generosity, and promised that he would bring justice to the ones responsible for this madness. After concluding the audience, Cairn bid farewell to the king and princess, promising that he would also return, alive.

As he left the throne room, Cairn newly found himself at the grand hall, where he awaited for his fellow companions to tell them that they had the means to travel to Celeste. The airship they were using as The Alexander.

OOC: yeah, more Alumar ^^
I have little to do in this RP until eighter Alumar enters, or Jonad awakes.
So until that time, I might make more of these ^^
Don't use too long ^^
Tell me if it nags you ^^
----------------

Alumar Loren

Alumar awoke to the rattling of chains, against the rusty steel door.
“Food” A nameless soldier stated, as he threw in a wooden bowl with some nameless ‘thing’ ion it. As it hit the floor, half of it splashed over the floor.
“Gorgack have visitors today, so you might be lucky to be left alone today” The soldier stated. If it where to mentally make Alumar relax, or if it where true. Alumar cared little.
H ate the food, or at least the thing they served.
Even the rats stayed away from the parts that splashed over the floor.
Alumar grinned slightly.

Alumar saw a chance, and took it. He summoned all his strength, and threw the bowl towards the gem.
In a heartbeat, a hand had deflected it. “Hah, nice try, scum” The guard sitting on the chest had stated with a grin on his face.

Alumar’s head dipped. His morale where dropping. He had been there for close to a month, and had torture every other day.

A guard came walking, in his hands, a metal chest looking item.
He gave it to the Guard on the chest, and walked away.
The guard on the chest smiled, as he opened the metal box with a grin. The guard took out a pillow, and put the gem inside it, and then replaced the pillow, and closed the chest with a grin.
This made sure that the gem would be most resistant to physical attacks, and magical would not work, due to the nature of the gem.

Over the course of several days, the guars where not needed any more, now that the gem was safe.
To further secure it, they starter putting it in a cupboard, wit ha simple lock.
Now the guard where not needed to sit and watch him, as he had no way of breaking it, and too weak to try and break out from his cell.

Due to him being alone, the commoners walking by outside the prison walls, sometimes threw down loafs of bread and other small things.
This would sometimes roll through the small opening that secured air down there.
It was barred of as well, off course.
Every so often, it rained, that was the only time that Alumar where able to drink as he wished. Even thought the water was far from clean.

He was not aware of where he was, all he remembers from before his capture, was a feeling of weakness, then black.
Most likely, someone running towards him with the gem, and knocking him unconscious.

The location of this cell, or rather the prison, was unknown, all he knew, was that people walked past the small ‘window’ ever so often, the torture where done much deeper in the dungeon.

As time went, Alumar’s position had not gotten any better. And seldom would a random ball, or thrown toy roll in the window.
Normally the parent of the kid would forbid him, or her, to retrieve it.

One day, a pinkish ball rolled in the window, and ended up close to Alumar.
Thinking it was just another ‘toy for the dungeon’ he ignored it.
But this time, was different. A small girl poked her head down, and looked though the window.
Initially she asked for her ball, but where more intrigued by Alumar’s 6 fingers on the left hand, and his pure white eyes.
As time went, she became his conversationist, often stopping by to talk to him.
She later introduced herself as Liandra. Which restarted old feelings deep in Alumar’s heart?
Alumar started telling tales of his, and Liandra’s adventures.
Which she would later tell her friends, a rumor that Alumar Loren was captured in that town, started to move. Thought few believed it, and some didn’t know his name.

Wylliam leaned against the vacated pillar that Cairn was leaning on before to wait for Arthvader to run his errand. He wondered what kind of fighter he was. It takes real skill to fight effectively with two weapons simultaneously, not to mention a sharp mind. Wylliam looked up and saw that Arthvader ready. He rocked forward from the pillar and walked to the hall. When he reached the double doors, he turned his head to look at Arthvader. "Let's try not to forget in the heat of battle that we're just sparring. This isn't the strongest armor in the world that I'm wearing, and I don't feel like having to get it repaired." Wylliam pushed open the doors to the training hall and crossed to the far end of the sparring area to where the wooden weapons were racked. He picked out a four foot staff, leaned his spear against the wall, and stepped onto the mat. "Ready."

Mikhail

Mikhail noticed a guard standing near a door which probably led to the training grounds, he had to make the guard aproach him in order to avoid calling too much attention.

He knocked on the wall near him with his fist, producing a small sound. The guard heard the noise and moved in his direction...

Guard:"What was that noise!? Hey...what are you..uhhhhhhh...."

Mikhail pushed him behind the wall, and immediately took hold of his neck and in a move broke it, silent, simple, fast and deadly. That was the assassins way.

He was no fool to the point of living a body laying there behind enemy lines, so he took the soldiers armour, and placed the body in the middle of a bunch of well lined bushes.

"(It will take a few days before people start noticing the smell of you're decaying body)"

He then placed the soldiers armour and helmet on himself, he also took the soldiers large axe with him hidding his own blade in his vest. He then moved to the same position where the soldier was, near the entrance to the training grounds.

"(So Cairn is having a chat with the King eh? I'm sure that he will have to tell his comrades what's next in their agenda and then i will simply follow them, and when i get my chance...it will be lights out for all of them.)"

(( :O Two pages without me :'( Oh the horror :P

Loved the list you made, Julius. Your side-note for Jake was definitely  material

As a side note (sorry for the long OOC post), I'm going to try and write in Third-Person Omniscient from now on. In other words, you'll be getting the story not from Jake's or Hera's perspectives, but as an omniscient observer.))

Jake and Hera had remained behind, thinking on what had just happened. The two foes slipped away, like mist in a sewer, leaving them to ponder what they wanted.

The only indication that Jake gave to Hera that the group had left was a quick glance. He didn't follow them, and remained rooted to the spot. Hera was still eyeing the area that their foes had disappeared from.

Jake, too, was worried. How they managed to teleport the way they did, to wherever they went, baffled him. No matter how many times he went through it in his head, he couldn't wrap his mind around the logic behind it.

Hera, too, had been baffled by this, but that was not what he was thinking about. He was concerned with the power he'd felt from the dark knight. While Hera didn't think he was quite as strong as they were, he wasn't sure. The knight had hidden depths, that much was obvious, but how deep they went was what worried him.

Jake's ears twitched and he looked off to the side. A pair of guards were whispering and shoving each other roughly. With an exasperated sigh, the more decorated soldier approached Jake, but not without eyeing Hera's tail blade with trepidation.

The man's voice was deep, but quivered slightly as he spoke. "Sirs, the Airship is ready. We are only waiting for the contestants."

Hera Ledro looked up and nodded, and then walked silently towards the hole in the wall, observing it with a passive look.

Jake was more voluble. With a smile and a nod, he spoke kindly to the soldier. "Thanks, man. We'll head up now." With a pat on the soldier's shoulder, Jake walked past and removed his Soul Shredder from the wall. It had made a clean hole; not even one crack extended out from the tall diamond-shaped hole.

Jake looked at Hera. "We should get going. We can think about this more on the Airship."

Hera scoffed. "I'd fly there if I knew where this place was. I asked around town, seeing if anybody knew, but apparently there aren't too many. It's a sacred place, so a lot of people don't like sharing the information with strangers." He sighed. "Well, I guess we'll have to fly using the Airship. It'll be slower, but at least we'll know where we're going." He looked towards the large ship, just above the town. How they'd managed mechanical flight in such a primitive world, Hera didn't know, but it was a good thing they did.

Hera took to the skies, soaring towards the flying ship. Jake followed behind, leaving the soldiers staring at them.

A few hours later, all was prepared to aboard The Alexander. The Alexander was an airship build to resemblance a gigantic dragon with four feathered steel wings, four massive rocket propulsion engines set under every wing, each weighting over 400 tons, making The Alexander a very heavy but fast airship. The airship was around 40 feet long from head to tail, and 23 feet tall from the base that looked like sharp talons to the highest room which was the Captain's room on the Alexander's iron back. The airship had around 20 cabins, one Infirmary, a kitchen and the engines room where the ship was fueled by magical crystals mined from the Arkan Mountains and powered up by the mages of the northern areas. This ship was once used in the battle over the Fortress of Helena, Cairn's old airship now commanded by General Teo Van Greg, the one who took Cairn's position as soon as he quit the Royal Army. General Teo was a 28 years old man with 4 years of experience as a pilot, and has been the Captain of The Alexander for over 6 months.

Having reached the hangar, Cairn could not avoid the joy of seeing his old battleship, the sense of pride of nostalgia he felt in his veins brightened his darkened life. He was greeted by General Van Greg, who was clad in a knight armor, leather jacket covered by heavy breastplate, black leather pants, iron boots, metal waist band and long reddish cape. His weapon was a cross shaped long sword, with a split blade from the middle of the iron blade to the tip, the handle was golden with black leather covering the hilt. Both men formally saluted, General Van Greg gave Cairn a firm handshake and then he led him and the rest of the crew inside the airship. Guards were posted at the entrance of the hangar awaiting for the others. Also Cairn made sure to sent a guard with a message for Gade, ordering him to bring Jonad to the airship as well.

Julius was almost done draining ll the power of the stones into himself.

"With this power I will be unstoppable!" said Julius in a demonic voice.

Julius raised a hand towards Hejaloki and released another bolt. Hejaloki had enough strength to deflect this bolt towards the ceiling.

"Stubborn old friend. You will die soon enough." said Julius.

Those who came now will surely meet their doom...

Mikhail

Noticing some soldiers were lining up Mikhail went and joined the group, a guard ordered the group to prepare to board The Alexander, Mikhail could not help to be amazed at the sight of the enemy ship, it was huge to say the least and a real threat to Aldabran. The fact that he had a helmet and he worked in the shadows most of the time, allowed Mikhail to act more freely since nobody knew him and could very well mistake him for one of the other soldiers, even his pathetic half brother would not recognize him since they had never met before.

Upon seeing Wylliam entering the field, Arthvader took his position in front of his opponent. As Wylliam said ready, Arthvader took out his flaming broadswords. Prepared for the battle, he gave out the signal. "Ready, here I come." Arthvader began the battle by quickly charging towards Wylliam with a series of horizontal and vertical slashes.

Arthvader didn't dissapoint Wylliam's expectations, starting strong with a series of horizontal and vertical slashes. Wylliam responded by leaping high into the air, out of reach from the flaming swords. As he reached the crest of his leap, the doors to the training ground flew open and a guard rushed in, shouting, "Attention companions of Cairn! Your party will soon be departing aboard the Alexander! Please report immeadiately to the hanger!" It wasn't until the guard finished his announcement that he saw Wylliam, his face planted firmly on the ground after losing his concentration in the air. His legs were twitching in the air as the guard stepped cautiosly outside. Wylliam pushed himself off the ground and stood up, wiping the dirt from his face. "Ahem. Well, this apparently will have to wait. Let's go meet Cairn and the others in the hanger." Wylliam replaced the practice staff, grabbed his spear, and walked to the hanger where Cairn was waiting.

" ...agh... Help Me, Hejaloki!" said Julius. He started twisting in pain.

Seems like he doesn't have full control over Julius yet.

"I can't he is too powerful." replied Hejaloki.

"Take ...agh... some of his... agh ...power." Julius channel some energy into Hejaloki.

Hejaloki got enough energy to restore him to vigor. Like he was two years ago. Hejaloki knew it wasnt enough.

" ...aaaggghhh... " Julius gripped his head in pain. Then he said in a demonic voice, "He only gave you the tip of my power."

Julius grabbed the sword at his waist.

"Time to die old friend." With that Julius charges Hejaloki.

Hejaloki summoned his sword of light and shield...

{OOC: you leave me too far behind...T^T}

Zeria had kept silent this whole time. She didn't know what to say, and she was far too tired to care what was going on around her. Her head felt like someone had dropped a cannon on it. She followed Cairn for most of the journey....then eventually put her hand on his shoulder.

"Cairn....I have a question of you. Have...have you found anything new about Julius?"

She bit back her lower lip, fidgeting nervously.

"Please tell me if you know anything..."

Not sure if he should tell her, Cairn decided that a bitter truth was better than a false hope full of lies. He sighed, taking a deep breath before narrating all that has happened since the arrival of that dark knight. "Apparently, we stumbled across his twin brother, Lucius, though I could not confirm his identity."-Cairn stopped as he organized his ideas and the facts in his head then he resumed his answer-"Whether or not Julius still lives, that can't be verified. Though we assume we will obtain some answers on Julius' whereabouts as soon as we reach the ruins of Celeste"

Zeria felt as if her breath was caught in her throat.

"So it was Lucious I saw as I woke up...that means Julius has to be...he has to be alive..."

She couldn't believe it. Now she knew that Julius had to be alive. If Samael was still living, Lucious was, and from the information she'd gotten, he had to be! Though she still wondered who it had been in her dreams, telling her that answers would lie in Palacious...he'd been right. She'd found many clues in this city.

"Then let us depart as soon as possible. The closer I get to finding Julius, the better"

"Let me make things clear: even if we reach Celeste and find anything, that doesn't necessarily means he is alive. So I don't want to see you shattered if his death is confirmed, or if he is not the Julius you knew. Now if you excuse me, I have some important issues to attend at the moment. In the meantime, please enjoy your stay aboard The Alexander." Cairn turned away from Zeria and walked towards the stairs leading to the 2nd floor. Having passed through a large corridor in the 2nd floor, Cairn headed straight to the Captain's Cabin, to make sure all the preparations for the journey were ready and that the ship's system was in top condition. During those hours of revision and tune up of the ship, Gade had arrived with a few of the soldiers that helped him carry an unconscious Jonad to leave him resting in the infirmary.

The battle between Hejaloki and Julius was too much for Hejaloki.

He had to retreat and leave clues. He decided to leave clues that will lead whoever comes to the island ruins of Vistoria to the west.

Hejaloki went to one knee.

"Come get me!" With that Hejaloki went into a orb of holy energy and flew away to Vistoria.

"Oh I will!" replied Julius. He changed into a orb of darkness and chased after Hejaloki. He also blew up the airship that brought him and Hejaloki to Celesta...

Mikhail

Mikhail was now stationed near the pilots cabinet, where the captain of the Royal Guard ordered him to stay, this was probably one of the perfect spots to remain and hear all of the soldiers conversations. Cairn was talking to a woman, Mikhail could not hear completely what they were saying but he heard something about a certain Julius...

"(Could it be...the lost heir of Silverwing that they speak of? This trip to Celeste might just be full of surprises.)"

Cairn passed right near Mikhail, that fool could not even recognize the man who was responsible for his ruin, yet Mikhail knew that no matter how many times he was able to corrupt his half brother plans, the soldiers and citizens of Seseu would always respect him, and therefore the only way to end it all was to kill him. He remained in his post silently awaiting the departure not calling too much attention to himself.

Zeria sighed and headed for somewhere to rest. She was tired again, and needed sleep. Unfortunately, she found herself standing in an area of the airship that was into the outdoors. The balcony or something she presumed. Nevertheless, Zeria went to an edge and stared out, watching the surroundings.

"This world has become full of obstacles and heartbreak. I can only hope that Cairn is wrong about Julius not being alive...oh please let Julius be alright..."

As Damian and Raven entered the city of Palacius Raven looked towards the Airship that was docked there, he seemed strangely intrigued by its presence and quickly began to run there. Damian followed after until Raven stood still, mere feet from the giant airship, two guards stood at the bridge, barring his way. Raven walked towards the guards and began to talk his way on board. "Fine day isn't it? Could you grant me passage on this fine vessel?" Raven asked. "No, this vessel is only to be boarded by specific people who have been granted permission by Cairn Rosencraft" the left guard replied. "Well, who has been granted permission, if you don't mind me asking?" Raven asked. "Well, I'm afraid I cannot give you that information" The guard said. Raven knew there was no winning, he had only one chance to avoid violence. "ZERIA! I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE! IT'S ME!" Raven hoped she would hear his words, if she didn't he would have to break in, nothing would stop his mission.

"Aw, c'mon, this world isn't that bad," Wylliam said, hanging by his knees from the railing of the floor above. He swung himself forward to a sitting position and looked back down at the red head. "True, it gets rough. True, we are sometimes seperated from the people we love and respect. But I think there are far too many good things in this world to discount it completely. Like... oh, I don't know... me, for example." He grinned and rolled backward from his perch, landing on the floor beside the girl. "Of course, I don't mean to take the signifigance from your feelings, quite the opposite, actually. It is that devotion, that sense of direction, that puts power in your legs to run to what's important. All I'm saying is: don't spite the journey, but let it fortify your resolve. After all, nothing worth achieving is ever easy, as they say." He leaned his back against the railing and folded his arms, still grinning. "By the way, you didn't tell me your name back in the woods. If someone offers you one's name, it is polite to offer yours back." Wylliam completely ignored, of course, that it is considered impolite to eavesdrop on someone who believes they're alone, but he wasn't one for self-criticism, only narcissism.
