In the Beginning
In the beginning, God created three species: Man, Mage, and Prise. They were placed in the universe known as Heaven’s Fence and allowed to live. The “Fence” was comprised of 78 planets aligned in a triangular form divided into 12 sectors. Each sector was given a capital planet with five additional planets (with the exception of sectors 7 and 12, which had eight follower planets). In order for the Fence to exist, a precise method of energy distribution was required to supply each planet with an equal amount of essential elements needed to sustain life. The Keywork itself is comprised the visible beams of light that connect every individual planet, supplied by the seven power star transformers, known as the Stars of Sirius. Sirius Amory, the namesake and chief astronomer of the Stars, discovered that the Stars could produce the essential elements needed to harbor life among the planets and ensure their immobility (provided it allowed them to orbit around the beam).
When God placed all three species in Heaven’s Fence and allowed them to live, he left them with specific rules. Prise would watch over the Mages, and Mages would govern over Man. This way, all could leave peacefully and harmoniously for all time. Should the balance be interrupted, it was the Prise’s responsibility to restore order. He left a riddle to be followed by the Prise:
“If man should decide to dabble in my affairs, then guardian must intervene. But, should I come forth to change the face of Man with you there to challenge me, then I shall return with the Stars to destroy all I have made. Whether Man or I present that danger will not be told in the coming.”
Over time, Mages became greedy and restless. Wilhelm Ryan, one of the twelve Mages sent to govern with compassion and justness, decided to overthrow his fellow Mages and take over their sectors. He ordered Mayo Detinwolf, future Head General of the URA, to occupy the neighboring territory and overthrow the leader, Mage Covent Marth. Immediately Marth and fellow Mages demanded Ryan withdraw his forces, but Ryan then executed Marth and thus began the War of the Mages. At war’s end, Ryan was in control of all three sectors and was hence forth known as Supreme Tri-Mage Ryan. Ryan enslaved Man to do his bidding, creating the United Red Army which he used to inflict a tyrannical rule over the entire Keywork. He used Man not only for labor in life, but as fuel for the Keywork in death by trapping their souls in the Stars. In creating the URA, Ryan appointed his cyborg body guard Mayo Detinwolf as Head General, and captures the 8 remaining Mages and turned them into Onstantine Priests. Described as mindless and blood thirsty, the Priests are Ryan’s merciless executioners.
After years under Ryan’s ruthless iron fist, one of Man’s greatest scientists, Dr. Leonard Hohenberger, devised a plan. With the blessings of neither Mage nor Prise, Dr. Hohenberger worked in secret to create the first IRO-bots. Officially known as Interceptive Recon Operative Bots, they are cyborg like beings that act, feel, and think as humans, but posess super-human abilities. He created a team known as the K.B.I., comprised of Cambria (Knowledge), Coheed (Beast), and Jesse (Inferno). Each with their own talents, they were implanted with the mission of removing Ryan from power. Before he could exact his plan on Supreme Tri-Mage Ryan Wilhelm, Dr. Hohenberger was framed by accusations of ties with a terrorist organization, “Aetna Six,” the doctor was assassinated. Before his death, he implanted new memories into Coheed and Cambria and sent them into hiding. The doctor left Jesse untouched and told him to disappear, presumably in hopes to one day complete their task.
Years passed, and hopes for an answer to Ryan’s regime began to fade. The Prise stirred with unrest, as they began to feel they had failed God and that the riddle they were left with would soon be realized. However, within Sector 12, on the capital planet Paris: Earth, a secret to Man’s oppressors began to rise. Mariah Antillarea, a Mage believed to be born through Immaculate Conception, is believed by her followers to be the solution to Ryan’s evil tyranny. Followers who refer to her as “The Messiah”, mark between their thumb and index finger, on the web of their hands, with an “M” with two lines drawn diagonally across it, to show they were members of Mariah’s Rebellion. A breath of hope spreads through the race of Man, and soon Mariah has a Rebel Army to fight against the URA. Thus marks the beginning of a whole new war.
Cast of Characters
Sirius Amory
Race: Human
Described as “tall”, having “olive skin, medium build, dark features and glasses. He looks very accomplished and proud,” Sirius Amory is responsible for the creation of the Keywork that harbors all 78 planets within Heaven’s Fence. It was his discovery that the stars had the ability to create elements essential for fostering life that allowed the planets to be populated. His name was then given to the stars, known as The Stars of Sirius, as a tribute to his discovery. It is these energy sources which hold beams of energy from one another to stabilize the Keywork and its galaxies.
Dr. Leonard Hohenberger
Race: Human
Dr. Hohenberger is the well-known creator of the first and only (until Jesse’s later inventions) Interceptive Recon Operative Bots (IRO-Bots). These cyborg-like beings appear human and can be killed, but exhibit extraordinary talents unknown to humans and have the ability to be repaired. Dr. Hohenberger is responsible for assembling the KBI program as a means to remove Supreme Tri-Mage Wilhelm Ryan from power. The KBI team was comprised of Knowledge (Cambria), Beast (Coheed), and Inferno (Jesse). Framed by Ryan in a conspiracy that accused him of ties with the terrorist organization Aetna Six, Dr. Hohenberger was assassinated. Before his death, he disbanded the KBI team, implanted new memories into Coheed and Cambria, and left Jesse with the task of completing the mission should the opportunity arise.
Coheed Killgannon
Race: IRO-Bot
Code Name: Beast
Memory Implants: Stock B187, J366, and Y416, file code “human.”

At 18, however, after his father contracted Melvus (an upper respiratory disease) and became bed ridden, he dropped out of school to help his mother out with money until his father’s death.
In truth, Coheed is the Beast of the KBI team invented by Dr. Hohenberger, a tactical unit comprised of three IRO-bots (Coheed, Cambria and Jesse). As first Counterpart, he has great physical strength and the ability to extend a series of blades out of his left arm to be used as a weapon. After Dr. Hohenberger’s conspiracy is revealed, Coheed’s memory is replaced to protect his identity and wellbeing. He marries Cambria and they have four children: Josephine, Claudio, and the twins Matthew and Maria. Living a pleasant life on the planet Hetricus, he suffers from what he believes to be nightmares, but are really memories of his true identity. One day, Coheed is informed by Mayo Deftinwolf that he carries what is called the Monstar virus, a virus that holds the ability to trigger a reaction in Coheed’s body so severe it would dismantle the Keywork and bring an end to the known universe. While he can control it, he is told, he has passed on a genetic strain to his children, the Sinstar virus, that cannot be stopped and that he must eliminate the danger.

As second Counterpart, Cambria has immense telepathic power, both through her ability to use telekinesis and her prophetic talents. After her memory is altered, she marries Coheed and is mother to their four children, Josephine, Claudio and the twins Matthew and Maria. Cambria telepathically witnesses the conversation between Coheed and Mayo, which takes place at 21:13 in the evening, and therefore learns of Coheed’s task given to him by Mayo.
Jesse

Code Name: Inferno
Memory Implants: None
Jesse is the third member of the KBI team, Inferno. His main objective was to serve as Mainframe to Counterparts Beast and Knowledge. He is created in the exact likeness of Dr. Hohenberger, and therefore shares his ability to create IRO-Bots as well. When the conspiracy against Dr. Hohenberger came to light and the KBI program disbanded, Jesse was the only one whose memory was left untouched. It is believed at one point he was told to later find Coheed and Cambria and fulfill their mission, but this never came to fruition. His full abilities are unknown, but he later surfaces as “Prize Fighter Inferno” and makes a livable career as a boxer. He later helps lead Mariah Antillarea’s Rebel Army, along with his own IRO-Bots that he has since created, in a war against Supreme Tri-Mage Wilhelm Ryan’s United Red Army (URA).

She amasses a Rebel Army that later defends Silent Earth against the URA.
Chase
Race: IRO-Bot
The most powerful of all of Jesse’s IRO-Bots, but meekest in appearance. She is The Vishual; she can hear everything that the Writer is thinking and saying. However, if it is God’s will to change the face of Man, then the Prise must remain impartial and suffer the wrath of God’s destruction.
Ambellina
Race: Prise
Cast out by her fellow Prise for reasons unknown, Ambellina’s wings were burned and she was forced to guide Claudio to find Inferno and join the war against Wilhelm Ryan, fulfilling his role as The Crowing. Like the rest of the Prise, her mission was to see that God’s will was carried out in the Keywork. “The Fallen Prise” forges an oddly deep connection with Claudio during their travels together, a dynamic that is in stark contrast to Claudio’s past relationship with Newo, for it is not in a Prise’s make to feel emotion.
Al the Killer
Race: Human
Al pilots the Velorium Camper, a shipping barge in which he spends the majority of his time. He is somewhat of a racist psychopath with an affinity for murdering white girls, either in fantasy or reality. Al has an unnatural obsession with his sniper rifle, whom he treats like a companion, and in his past was a remarkable shot. Both Al’s piloting and sniping abilities are put to use when Claudio, Ambellina, Jesse and Chase employ him to carry them to House Atlantic.
Apollo
Species: Canine
Apollo is both Newo Ikkin, and the Writer’s dog. He exists and parallels himself in both worlds: Writer’s world and Heaven’s Fence.
The Writing Writer
Race: Human
A parallel to Claudio Kilgannon of Heaven’s Fence, the Writing Writer lives in our world. The issues of his own life make him see delusions that cause him to take out his own personal suffering on the characters in his story. The story gets darker and more troubled as his own problems grow. He doesn’t want The Character, Claudio Kilgannon, to feel the same pain that he has, so he interferes with the story. He sees the vision of Ten Speed, who manipulates his thinking and convinces him of what must be done in the story to allow himself some peace.
Miss Erica Court
Race: Human
Erica is Writer’s past love, whom he at one point wished to propose to. Erica left Writer after a period of time when the relationship was failing because Writer didn’t spend enough time with her and didn’t put enough energy into the relationship, despite his deep love for her. Writer carries a heavy burden of guilt, grief and pain over his loss that eventually manifests into a deep hate for Erica.
Ten Speed
Race: None
As Writer’s grief worsens, so do his delusions. Ten Speed is the possessed bicycle that appears in Writer’s visions. Ten Speed convinces Writer that he must dramatically change his story to insure that he get some peace in his own life.
Groups:
Onstantine Preists
Race: Priest
During the War of the Mages, Ryan eventually took over power of all 12 Mage territories, and in the process some were killed. The remaining Mages were then captured and turned into Onstantine Priests, blood thirsty executioners used to do Ryan’s bidding. Mindless, grotesque, and vicious, they are described as “mutated killing machines with no memory and a lust for blood.”
IRO-Bots
Dr. Hohenberger’s invention, “IRO-Bot” stands for Interceptive Recon Operative Bots. Like humans, IRO-Bots can feel love, anger, sadness, confusion, fear, and any other emotion humans experience. They can feel pain, be killed and must feed, breathe, and drink like humans. However, they can be repaired if injured and exhibit extraordinary skills and abilities unavailable to a mortal. The original three, Coheed, Cambria and Jesse, were invented for the KBI program Dr. Hohenberger had planned. Jesse’s later inventions are not only created, but can transform entirely into beasts at will.
Lost Souls of the Keywork
These are Supreme Tri-Mage Wilhelm Ryan’s unfortunate subjects whose souls have been suspended and used to power the Stars of Sirius as fuel for the beams. They haunt Claudio’s dreams and call out to be released from their torture.

The most powerful of all of Jesse’s IRO-Bots, but meekest in appearance. She is The Vishual; she can hear everything that the Writer is thinking and saying. She is a grown woman in the body of a 4 year old girl, though, exhibits child-like adoration for her “father” Jesse. She is often the reassurance Claudio needs when he doubts his fate as The Crowing.
Sizer
Race: IRO-Bot
One of the “children” of Jesse’s group of IRO-Bots, The Pioneers, Sizer feels like an older brother to Chase. However, he feels that Jesse favors Chase and therefore struggles for Jesse’s affection. After being abducted by the URA in Chase’s place, Sizer is interrogated, disassembled, and left for dead after he refuses to give up information. Later, he is teamed up with Claudio and serves to take Jesse’s place as leader of the IRO-bots.
Newo Ikkin
Race: Human
Newo was Claudio’s extroverted, beautiful, and popular girlfriend of two years during their time at Rye Cooper High School together. Fiercely loyal to those close to her, Newo spent the majority of her time with Claudio until a series of events that tore them apart indefinitely. Later, it comes to light that Newo is somewhat of a manifestation, created by Writer, who is tormented by his past relationship with a woman named Erica Court. Newo stands to represent the evil or devious aspects Writers sees in Erica, which goes on to influence Claudio’s relationship with Newo.
Patick McCormick
Race: Human
Josephine Kilgannon’s long time boyfriend and would-be fiancée were it not for a night full of tragic events started by the attack of the Jersey City Devils and Patrick’s later apprehension by the URA soldiers occupying the Kilgannon home at the time Patrick brings Josephine home. After his escape from the soldiers, Patrick’s fate is sealed by an Onstantine Priest that was sent to tie up all of the loose ends in the Kilgannon home.
Paranoia
Race: Prise
Paranoia and the Prise were positioned as guardians to they Keywork and its power sources, Stars I, II, III and IV. In their creation, God presented the Prise with the task of intervening should Man attempt to take on the role of God.
