If Jim feels he was treated unfairly, he can speak to an admin about it. Likewise, if anyone wants to complain about/contest the ban, please PM Mitsuki or Tyler. Feel free to lament how bored you are without Jim around but if you want to complain/contest his infraction, it's best to take it up with an admin.

I believe there was a lot of stuff reversed. So he could of had a perma ban now. Jim just doesn't know how to stay out of trouble. :neomon:

I think the main issue is, other people (myself included) do the exact same shit Jim does, yet we never get an infraction. I know its just an accumulation (well, i imagine) of points that's led to his ban, but by that token, where was Daves?

Where have mine been when ive outright told someone to fuck off? Or is it just because it hapened to be a moderator that got the shit? In which case, elitism?

Was what he said really that much of a butt hurt that it couldnt of just been dealt with as a warning knowing that it's going to lead to a hefty ban? He's not even a malicious person

Like, why wasn't decado banned when he re-signed up as whatever the fuck something Byte... it does seem like there's a lot of one rule for one, and a different set for everyone else

You can also come back with, well its none of your business, how do you know it wasnt dealt with etc. Fact is we DON'T so how are we supposed to know why someones been let off the hook for something someone else would get slapped a ban on for? His original account still exists, and that had a perma SB ban on it, which, I imagine, is why he made a new account

(not deliberatly trying to single him out as a person, this is more just an observation)

Anyway. It's shit like this that's getting some of us pissed off

Additionally, hindsight's a wonderful thing, and when you're no longer part of the staff enforcing the rules, you see how stupid some of the rules are, and how uptight some people can be about being offended. It ends up just being a punishment for something a moderator doesn't like, e.g. "posting big text and being condescending on the SB".

Can't speak specifics, because I wasn't there at the time, but from what I understand, Jim was given warnings and didn't comply. Dave's actions were mentioned in HQ as well, but he was not seen to be as much of a problem.

But I can go ahead and give Dave a matching infraction right now if that'll make you/him feel better.

I've warned you in the SB. Personally, I do give you a bit of leeway because of a few reasons, including your seniority here. But in my experience, when you've been told to slow your roll, you do so. Jim didn't, and doesn't. Same thing with most others. Mod X says "Whoa," Member Y says "My bad." In Jim's case, he would either A) ignore the warning and keep right on; B) make fun of/insult the Mod giving the warning; or C) make a billion spam threads questioning his SB ban/suspension.

How many times has Jim been warned? They clearly do nothing. You and I both know Jim's an intelligent guy. If he hasn't learned by now where the lines are, well.....

We're not going to hold his hand every time he steps up to the edge of the cliff.

It was discussed in HQ, and with him, and with LG. There was a reason.

Again, there was a reason. I'll leave it to you to PM an Admin if you really want to know why. It's not as nefarious as you seem to want it to be.

That's fair. Personally, I don't begrudge you all having an opinion and bringing it up. At the end of the day, the members are the most important part of the site. But don't be under the impression that Mods are in the habit (post-Darkblade) of going rogue and throwing out infractions left and right. If Jim received an infraction every time he was brought up in HQ, he'd literally have 200 points right now. Hell, even if he got an infraction every time a Mod in HQ said "I think Jim deserves an infraction," he'd probably have in the neighboorhood of 50. So, in my opinion, I think staff has treated him with a fair amount of discretion.

But, you can only cry wolf so many times.

On the grounds of taking the piss, aye? :wacky:

It's more the fact that infractions can be given out for silly things, the other night being one of them. Can't contest the other infractions, don't know what specific occasions they were given for but on the whole whenever there's controversy it's usually because someone doesn't like something they've said and end up being a pussy about it.

Well, it may be possible that his 2 point infraction is debatable. As Jesse said, he can't say he wasn't warned, he gets warned frequently. Debating his 6 month ban is a whole other story. He hit the magic number for that. He was well aware that he was 2 points away from a 6 month sentence, yet he continued. If, and only if, his 2 points are reversed, what says he all of a sudden becomes an infraction-free citizen of FFF? Sure, we can't assume that he'll get infracted again, and that's no reason to just infract him to get him put away. But as Jesse already stated, he knows where the lines are, and crosses them at will anyways. Creating anarchy may get him out now, but he'll only put himself back in, and probably in a short period of time. Honestly, it's not really worth all the hassle. Lets just sit back, take a deep breath and relax. :ryan:

Fucking hell. It's always the dramatic piss that gets the most attention.
