Klever Kelly.

Who was running said trivia and was it about lolpoints?

On the grounds of taking the piss, aye? :wacky:

On the grounds of fairness. That's what we're after with all this, yes?

It's more the fact that infractions can be given out for silly things, the other night being one of them.

Can be, but generally aren't.

Dave said:
Can't contest the other infractions, don't know what specific occasions they were given for but on the whole whenever there's controversy it's usually because someone doesn't like something they've said and end up being a pussy about it.

See, people say that until they're on the receiving end, and want an infraction given. If, speaking of Black Butler as an example, one of us had told Kelly to "stop being a pussy" when he had his little Vietnamese rant about her or whatever it was, things would have gone from bad to worse. So just because your threshhold wasn't met, doesn't mean the infraction wasn't warranted.

I can't say whether he deserved it or not (I was neither here when it happened, nor am I a staff member). Although I do realise that he takes the piss a bit generally.

I can say that he's the only person I actually speak to on here though. :sad3:

...:lew:

Tbf, he's a weirdo :monocle:

And he called me a bad mother, the CHEEK!

cant remember what the vietnamese thingy was...

Personal attack > slagging off someones quiz

I'm shooting for "getting a grip" really

Don't have a clue what happened with that so as I said I can't comment.

Will ask though, whose threshold does it have to meet? The acting moderator? No more qualified to decide a punishment than anyone else on the site. Not suggesting we have a full-on public debate for every mod action but I do think these opinions should be considered

Ignoring a Moderator's warning(s), actually.
Which were fuckin stupid :lew:

I was in the sb during Trivia when it happened (my first joinage at a Trivia game too) so it was really annoying when Jim started off slow, and didn't stop. tbqh, I don't remember Dave doing or saying anything that he says was on the same level as Jim. I saw him conversing with Jim an such, but not on the same level as l size 7 font with bright colours. 8(

Jim kept doing it tho.... even after his shouts were editted to smaller fonts and acceptable colours... after he was told to stop, and tbh if he doesn't listen thats no ones fault other than his own. He was continually baiting Ami when he kept saying "check your pm's.. check your pm's..." and then from there, it looked like he was just silenced from the sb. Which, tbf was fantastic and made the game go by smoothly.

Trivia isn't a super srs thing but when one person's being an arse about it, it does ruin the fun for the whole lot.

Additionally, hindsight's a wonderful thing, and when you're no longer part of the staff enforcing the rules, you see how stupid some of the rules are, and how uptight some people can be about being offended. It ends up just being a punishment for something a moderator doesn't like, e.g. "posting big text and being condescending on the SB".

It's easier to be offended at something/one when you're in a position of power and they take the piss. As a regular member, you don't rly do anything cause you can't, except maybe report. As a mod, you have the authority to do something about it. And some personal attacks may hit home more than others would think.

I think I've reported Jims once or twice for something he's said that was rude, but also in a personal rude kind of way.

I've noticed no one has started a "Free Black Butler" campaign. :mokken:

...hahahahahahaaaaa :wacky:

Anyone who calls Kelly a bad mother should be banned on the spot. :mokken:

YESSSSSSSSSS JIM WAS BANNED TEE HEE,WOOO HOOO,FUCK HIM !I ALWAYS SAID I WANTED HIM TO BE BANNED,NOW IT HAPPENED ! YESSSSSSSS!

In many cases, if a member comes to us and says "this person is really bothering me," we'll take some sort of action, whether that results in an infraction or just a warning. So it's each member's personal threshold, with a dose of staff discretion thrown in the mix. In this case, that member happened to be staff.

Regardless, if a staff member asks you to do something, it's probably in your best interest to do what they ask. Especially if it's something as mind-numbingly simple as 'use regualr sized text.'

The Yoshida Prophecy has come to pass, and James lies in prison, rotting for an eternity. The members may frolick in harmony now.

So more moaning about it = bigger punishment...

Getting an infraction for ignoring a warning is fine, getting a warning for something that's not harmful or indeed against rules is stupid, so yes he was banned for something stupid

I find trivia more annoying than anything, I wonder if I asked it to stop it would be considered?

More people enjoy it than don't. Or, at least, a good number of people enjoy it. The SB is rarely more consistently active than when trivia is going. And moreover, no one's forcing you to partake.
