To anyone who thinks there should be a sequal to 8, game or movie

What's so great about the movie idea?

The storyline for FF8 is done and complete; there's nothing left to elaborate, unless you want to make a worthless movie based off of someone's Mary Sue fanfic for a storyline...which isn't worth watching.

So, I'm an ass, when you can't explain why having the movie idea is so great, and I can explain why it isn't?
 
I could care less at what people say in this thread, i think there should be a FF8 movie. FF8 was probably my second or third favorite out of all the FF's, plus squall, yuffie, and aerith really got along better in KH and KH2 then anything. So i would think it's only fair to allow another FF the chance at a movie or something, so why not FF8? (You don't have to actually answer that for me...)
 
They are not going to make a sequal other than Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus there will be no direct sequal but a remake has been anounced for the PS3 out middle to late 2007 or early 2008
 
well i think it should have a movie i liked every thing in the game btw ff8 and ff10 are my fovourite ff

it hasn't such complicated story as ff7.

but if is gonna be a movie,i'm sure i'll see it
 
yeah a sequal would be not bad but

Here is the thing that might seem odd in the movie if they done it:


Squall performing moves similar to cloud and sephy(being able to cut through buildings etc.)but that would be impossible cuz Squall is a normal human being while Cloud and sephy have jenova cells in them(increasing there physical atributes strength,speed etc.).

Now that would put me off the movie if they done that.


Besides i think final fantasy 8s ending was perfect while 7s one left space for a sequal so it would be way harder too make a sequal for 8.

p.s. not every final fantasy needs a movie or sequal and 8 dosent need a movie or sequal

Why not? If they lost valluable time experimenting by doing Final Fantasy "The Spirit Within", why they don't do the same by doing a movie based on FFVIII?
I'll tell you why..
FFVII story was complicated and it left some questions about the ending.
FFVIII on the other hand had a perfect ending.
I wouldn't mind to play FFVIII again (if I find a copy of it) but like other gamers, I want something new and fresh. Also I wouldn't mind to play a remake of FFVIII with better graphics, new GFs, more missions (stages) and maybe more mini games. Then again I now that the new gamers of this generation are trying to find something new that would make them play FF games and I hope that FFXIII will make them pay attention to one of the greatest RPG series of all times.
 
If i may be so bold to let you hate me FF8 sucked sorry but it's true
visually at it's time it was great but thats it. It was a dang love story with a cow boy who tried to get chick to do him. And anyway what would the story line be? i mean Advent Children's for example was skrewy enough but what would be the point of this one??? How about this you give me a good topic and ill side with you ok?
 
Just remember there's been another 12 pages of posting before you, Cloud, so there could be other suggestions, such as the very realistic one of a remake-movie, as opposed to a sequal-movie.
 
I think a movie should be made! It could be made in CGI or anime-style,and it should focus on all the characters,not just Squall and Rinoa.They could skip boring parts like the Laguna dreams(which I don't think were really necessary to the story).
 
I think a anime series should be made insted of a movie as you can fit more of the story in. You have to explain SeeD, Seifer, Edea, Griever, Ultimica etc.
 
ff8 movie that would be cOol!!! seing them studying a higher magical level and mastering the different summons, :D,, watching a team-up blade combo with seifer, i like to see that!!! please squaresoft make one!! any storyline will do:) well let see... ultimecia has twin shadow sealed upon omega by ultimecia's herself, and now she's gone and so is the seal,, hahahaha sorry i juz really want omega see in action.. coz i thought in AC omega will show up... thats all

I think it would be awesome if they decided to make a FFVIII movie. Of course it'd have to take place after the events of Ultimecia. Could you imagine if Rinoa became a sorceress and they had to fight her? That'd be great since I can't stand her.
