To anyone who thinks there should be a sequal to 8, game or movie

Do you think that Square should make a FFVII sequal?

seifer was always one to demand more power. he saw how the scorceress were powerful and he wants power like that. so enraged with power he kills edea and gains her power. than he finds out that his power start to grow uncontrollably. he calls himself Warlord Seifer. he wears a black drench coat. and a red lionheart gunblade. he treaten the world by summoning a new kinda weapon. maybe like idk shadow weapon or Ultra weapon or something. Squall and company destroy the monster, find out that Seifer was the problem. Seifer finds out that rinoa has a trace of sorcerss in her so he kills her to gain more power. Squall become enraged and Warlord Seifer and Squall duke it out to end the rivalry and protect the world from the evils of Warlord Seifer

this would be seifers sword

i think she broke his heart:cry2:

Since it's very hard to do sequels, they screw it all, just like in the movies, the sequels are really bad -as my grammar.
I would vote to MAKE A REMAKE! For the CG sake!, It would be rock!.

with that game you could make a mini series outta that. teh story line would also bring in non FF fans too. unlike advent children..

AC tied up loose ends to FFVII. It answered unanswered questions and also raised some new ones, leaving room for another sequel. On top of this, it had its own story line, of which was easy to follow and was easy to understand (so long as you payed attention to the game).

Personally, I'm not as fond of the idea for an FF8 movie. I did like Squall's character, but only at the beginning; not near the end. I find that there wasn't enough interpretation allowed in FF8; we were lead to believe that it was nothing much more than a love story, which could potentially be a red herring for the whole concept of time and relativity. It simply plays a larger part of the story more so than in the other Final Fantasies, and for that, I would not like to see another movie on it. I want a movie to be done on a game with good plot and story. FF7 and FF6 had it for me because there was some ambiguity in FF7 that allowed for interpretation, and FF6 was very quotable. FF8 I felt had less of those. A good movie cannot be good without a good storyline. There was a particularly good reason for FF7 being made into a movie, and that is that the conclusion was open ended; we were left to our own devices as to what happened, and we ask ourselves what would happen in the future. The movie answers that for us, yet leaves us biting for more in the end. With FF8, we come full circle, and there seems to be really no other reason to elaborate on an "ending".

What are you talking about?FF8 would be a great movie!it's known to be like a movie,It just suits that. Also AC was a good movie, but That is the thing!they have left FF7 opened for to much!now there fricken coming out with like 9 games and on top of that there saying there continueing FF7 For ten more years!

FF7 has a more interesting interpretation than FF8 does. It leaves barely any room for something that requires explaining, or if there were any subtle hints at something that should be explained, it wasn't given much focus or interest. If the movie were just a remake of what actually happened in FF8, I'd suspect that few people would be interested; why watch the movie when you can play the game? Unless they added some behind the scenes or other bonuses, few people would care. FF8 is just not as extraordinary or revolutionary as FF7 in terms of story, characterization or theme. Of course, I know that FF8 fans will disagree, as has been had of the popular FF7 vs FF8 argument.

but whats so great about the storylines from ff7. its really the same thing.

both save the world: seph and ultimecia

love story: between rinoa and areis/tifa kinda

There was more of an emphasis of the love story between Rinoa and Squall than there was in FF7. FF7 has a variety of themes that can be interpreted, including the questions of Sephiroth as a villain, pet project, and as a heroic cynic, the problems with using science and technology to harm the planet, spirituality, psychological problems with Cloud and his past and his identity. Granted, all the Final Fantasies will share the theme of saving the world, but how the antagonist attempts to destroy the world and how the protagonists attempt to stop the antagonist is different. By the end of FF7, we do not entirely know if the world is saved--perhaps it is spared, but it may not be the same; for all we know, humanity could have been wiped out. We don't actually know of this until AC gives it to us. This is why we are allowed this kind of interpretation that FF8 doesn't offer.

who agreed to make a movie say me^_^
and who the hell care about love story?we want some action:cool:

it doesnt need motivation.it could just be some a sequel. doesnt need to fill anything. just another movie

But "just another movie" is meaningless and not worthy of my analytical time. It's not worth anyone's time watching, unless you were asking for an action flick. As far as I'm concerned, it's not like Square to do just an action flick. What purpose is there to do a movie of FF8 if there is no meaning or thought invoking process when I get the same satisfaction out of watching any other action flick? It's not amazing to do such a movie like that. It can never rival what Square hoped to accomplish with FF7 AC.

I'm with Angelus. How can they have "Just a movie" with no basis for a plot or story? You think AC was a bad movie WITH a plot, imagine NO plot  Not a good movie, is it? It's pointless to watch a movie from SE if it does not contain the quality of everything they've done so far.

I think he means the posts about Vincent's obsession. Anyway, i think Square should make a ff7 remake for PS3 or something, rather than a sequel
