To anyone who thinks there should be a sequal to 8, game or movie

Do you think that Square should make a FFVII sequal?

Remake > Sequal

I just think making a sequal will ruin the franchise of what is FFVII. In my opinion, I don't think they did a great job with FFX-2; I didn't like it at all. It didn't ruin my love for the first game, but I was majorly disappointed.

If I saw a remake being created of FFVII, then I would definately go out and buy it. After the success of AC with graphics, I think they would do a great job with a remake.

So, I thnk we can all agree that a remake will be better than a sequel?

Has anyone seen the demo's for FFVII on PS3? They are awesome, they look like real people. I'll try and find a link for them. Someone else feel free to find it faster though.

I think they should but, they should keep the story the same and just add stuff and fix all the gitches.

No. I personally feel the FF7 hype has been worked to death. I would really appreciate it if they put more work into their more recent FF games. Things seemed to go decidedly downhill after FF9, IMHO.

I thought FFIX was a terrible game, whereas FFVII and FFVIII were exemplary, with those standards continuing to FFX. Maybe a FFX movie (not different, the same). I would love to see a FFVII movie done, not sequel/prequel, a remake movie :)

Hm--well, different tastes. I was of the opinion that FF8 was disappointing in most respects to the FF series (probably storywise)--but it had awesome graphics at the time. Either way, I stand by what I said--FF7 needs to rest while Squeenix needs to put more effort into making their newer games appealing.

Could you please expand your answer young sir? Short replies are generally not appreciated here.

A remake would suit those who do not have a copy of the original.

I was also expecting that FFVII would be re-released into the shops along with AC, my friend is desperate to play it. I would like to see a remake for the purpose of (A) getting back my 3rd disc (scratched beyond play) and (B) to experience to story of FFVII with modern technology.

i havent read all the posts and i dont think i will (so a quick summary would be nice) Either way FF8 was my favorite and in my opinion of the better games in the series . I believe that if SE decided to make this movie it would be one of the most beutiful pieces they will ever produce , the FF8 world was very bright and colorfull , that and seeing a newly rendered Ragnarok flying around would kick alot of ass .

To be honest, I would prefer a FF8 movie, over the FFX one they may be making.

But yes, I would like to see a full motion movie of FF8. As Zero said, the world of FF8 was very colorful and vibrant. As long as they have a good plot attached to the movie, then I would say yes to FF8 having a movie of its own.

The plot is the biggest problem with having FF8 being made into a movie. The first thing that should get most developer's eyes into transforming a game into a movie should be the plot; not the colorfulness or scenery in a game. This is trite because if you can produce a game with beautiful graphics and colorful scenes, you can recreate these effects from scratch for a new plot. They just don't have to be the same as a pre-existing one. If the plot is good, you can be motivated to continue with the creation and completion of that movie. If it's not good, few people will be motivated to complete the movie.

Final Fantasy VIII would make a good movie... It's got a respectable storyline, the characters are all different in their FF way...
I would have thought that it had better potential than FFVII but there me go ^_^.
