Twilight Saga Discussion

Im being good and refusing to watch them .... ARGH ITS KILLING ME lol XD Sad thing is I may end up going and seeing it myself as I dont have any Twilight fan friends. My bessie mate hates the books, but enjoys the films. But she works ALOT and is saving :( My fella wont go cause ... well he just wont lol. So I may sneak in with a bunch of crazy fans going in XD

Saw the film. Loved it. Better than the other two combined. :gasp:

But seriously, I really enjoyed this. I loved how Jasper became more of an integral part of the storyline altogether. Him and Jacob definitely had the best lines. The action scenes were much longer than the previous two films. However, I felt uncomfortable watching Bella and Jacob kiss.

Now is that because she belongs with Edward, my attraction to Jacob or both? :hmmm:

Anyway, the ending was sudden again just like New Moon. I did kinda expect where it would end, but I'm a little disappointed that
we never see Jacob run off after Edward sends him the invitation to the wedding.
I saw that as one of the major scenes of the book both in terms of storyline and character development for him.

Heh, I even liked Jessica's speech, Bella's punch to Jacob's jaw ... Emmett was just as hilarious as always. Gotta love the actor behind that guy. It sets up Breaking Dawn very well. I just hope they don't leave it too long to release it.

Breaking Dawn is meant to be broken into 2 pieces like the final Harry Potter. Its not really to milk it, but to make sure nothing gets missed out.

Sadly Ive not seen Eclipse and it looks like a DVD release for me due to funds and the cinema being rammed to buggery.

Its not really to milk it

Yes it is.

Why and how on Earth they're splitting that book in to two films will never make sense to me. If the first three consist of an hour thirty minutes (plus) of Bella and Edward confessing all love, and more recently Jacob confessing his and not having it in return, why the fuck would I pay to see another 2 movies, probably longer than the rest even individually, of more of that crap?

I've really been trying to see what the big deal is so I went to see Eclipse tonight. What a mistake. HOW many scenes can Meyer write about Jacob wanting Bella to love him back? STOP it, that's enough, and put your shirt on.

There's no excitement, it's a terrible love story (it's not EVEN a love triangle, it's just a love where someone else butts in) that's been dragged out far too much and attracted far too many people for its worth. I must admit I did (slightly) enjoy the drama involving Victoria and the wolf-vampire hatred (even though the actors are shite at portraying it) but imo that should be the focal point of the story, not this pish. I've had enough, I really have, and the only part worth remembering was Muse's song being played.

I will most certainly not be seeing the next film, what an absolute waste of money. It's a joke.

P.S - Lautner's still as terrible at acting as he was in "Shark Boy & Lava Girl". Those cheeky wee "I'm hotter than you"-esque jokes were also terrible, and the girls in the cinema who squeed at that definitely need slapping. If any of you laughed at that, I now hate you.

YES! Though I will be honest, he IS the most entertaining character in the films.

And I don't see how you can say it's not being milked in general. They don't want to miss any important details out? Why weren't the other three films in double parts also then? I haven't read the books, but from what I could understand you understnad a few of their subtle jokes more in the films if you have read the books etc. I got a huge rant about it a few weeks back. So yeah, I am 99.999% sure they missed out a shitload of details in previous films, so why do it now? I can understand the ending is essentially the most important part, but I think they could squeeze it into one film if they really tried.

How will it be relased though? Like....at the same time...maybe a week or so apart? Or literally several months apart? I assume around about the same time. Though I am not paying for my film tickets =/ Fuck off am I paying like 260SEK ($32) to see one film cut into two pieces.

I am sure liek most things, the films don't do the books justice, but the fangirls do piss me off. I was at the opening film premier or whatever a few weeks back. And holy shit I couldn't hear half of the film. One girl started crying over it at some point. WTF. Sort your life out.

I personally though Vampires Assistant was better, but they didn't really follow the books at all, so it's became it's own thing. Plus no one else cared about it so there will probably be just the one film. Criminal if you ask me.'

I really think they'd get the same effect if it was just a typical love story and not vampiric in any way. It's a bit of a drag. But maybe I am totally missing the point. I mean, it can't be all that bad if a bajillion fan girls love it?

My favourite part though is the fact that once this movie is finished, as well as Harry Potter. These people won't ever do another decent film!

One more thing to slag off about Twilight in general. I was debating this film with the girls at work today, all of whom defended it by saying how much clearer the love triangle became.

It's made very clear that Bella does not return Jacob's feelings. That prevents it from being a triangle. It's a line, with someone trying to get in on it and failing. It's not even complex enough to BE a fuckin shape.

I'm so enraged

Why did you go watch it in the first place? :P When my girlfriend wanted to see New Moon, I went and saw 2012 while she squealed over that. I'm already debating with myself what I'm going to watch when "we" go catch Eclipse :P

Personally I watched 30 minutes of the first movie on DVD, thought it was rubbish, and haven't bothered with anything Twilight since. I still think these movies (and the books) are getting a lot of unwarranted hatred though. Sure it's trash and I think most fans will agree that Meyer is not likely to take the Nobel prize any time soon, but some times trash is just what you want and need. It's a bit like McDonald's in a way. It's not exactly fine dining and it's crap for you, but sometimes it's still exactly what you feel like.

I liked it, though, i didn't think it was as good as I was hoping it was. But still. So. much. EYE CANDY

Also, that love triangle thing, I have ALWAYS found absurd. Maybe it IS possible to love 2 people at the same time... I've always been skeptical on that. But I certainly don't beleive you can love someone as passionately as she claims to love Edward, but love someone else at the same time just 'not enough' its absurd, if you love someone that much there's no room for anyone else, sure you can love him alot as a friend, but not like that...anyway, thats a general gripe about the book and I'm gong off topic

Actually, it's a valid point, most of the first half of the film was just dedicated to I love you's and it started to cheese me off, it took too long to get going

It just irritates me. She's leading him on :mokken:

I'l still get it on DVD though :8F:

I can't say I'm looking forward to Breaking Dawn. I can only see that being a massive farce :rage:

talking fucking babies my arse

I saw that today, my friends decided they wanted to see it and I went with them since I haven't seen them for weeks...
Anyway, I've never been a fan, but I will admit that that was better than the previous 2 films. To be honest, that was mainly because of the eye candy... the actors that play Riley :-)gonk:) and Demitri are just lovely.
The love triangle thing is stupid, and Taylor Lautner really, really can't act... oh, and I've never heard so many fangirl screams through one film :mokken:

I enjoyed it, though.

Hahahahaha there were screams when I went, we purposely got VIP seats so we could have a booth out of the way of all the screaming brats. Im SO glad we did as well, the theatre was rammed, I'd of ended up losing my rag. There's always someone that pisses me off at the pics, even if there's only oneother person there. You can guarantee they are eating summat noisy. Fuck off :rage:

That Riley guy is gorgeouuuuuuus :ryan:

They don't do VIP seats at my local cinema :mokken:
I don't even have a cinema where I live, had to go to a different town :wacky:
I wish we'd had a booth. Every time Jacob came on there was a scream from somewhere. I just don't see the attraction to Taylor Lautner :mokken:

Also, yes he is Kel :ryan: I saw him and I was like... oooh... he wasn't in it before. (I've read the book, once, but I had totally forgotten the story and wasn't expecting him)

I forgot all about Leah until it was mentioned. I'm re-reading the books, and I'm only on New Moon. Edward just left. the cunt :mokken:

I'd forgotten quite abit actually, considering it was my favourite of the 3 books

I forgot about Seth taking him out as well, I was like oh yeah, go Seth, woo

Yeah, I recall Eclipse being my favourite as well... but I didn't remember much of the story :8F:
I remembered Leah, and Seth. But how young is the guy that played Seth?! He looked about 12 :mokken:
I only own the first two books. Other two were borrowed off my friends.
And I know, Bella should have ended up with Jacob :mokken: Edward was a bastard.
And I can't believe they're splitting the last book into two films. Do. Not. Want. It was the worst book by far and it could be easily squashed into one film :mokken:

I think he was supposed to be 15?

And I didn't rate the last book either. I was so disappointed with the ending. I think I mentioned it in the book thread about everyone getting their happy endings and it all being hearts and roses. And that. baby. No. Just no. It makes me cringe just thinking about how they are gunna make it work...

The other ridiculous thing about that baby was that Jacob imprinted on it. I mean, that's just weird, one minute you're in love with the mother and the next minute he's imprinting on her daughter who happens to be HALF VAMPIRE :rage:

And yeah, the whole super-happy ending thing did my head in :hmph: I like happiness in books but I like anger and sadness too :mokken:

Yeah, everyone gets their happily ever after, it's so fucking corny, like ohwow, what a COINCIDENCE. Ugh It's clearly gunna be a hit with most of the younger girls though, that's what they are all into innit.

Even though a good tragedy sticks with you longer. I wish they could change the film....loosly based would be nice. Kill off afew folk, dont let jacob get his happy ending etc etc

Better still, kill the talkign kid. No need

This the talking kid who also ages about 1.5 - 2 times faster than her parents, because for some reason having a normal human blooded parent who ages normally, and a vampire parent who doesn't age at all, makes you age super fast!! amirite? I believe it was part of SMeyer's whole 'happy ending with Jacob'...in like, five years, she'll be 16 or some shit.

I am intrigued by how they'll do the birthing scene and whether it'll be as gory as it was in the book. But splitting the book in two is utter tripe.. they can easily mash it into one, they're just trying to compete with HP7 which has a legitimately long book with many things worth cramming in a two parter. Breaking Dawn is just... 'I love you.. We marry... We go here... black out sex scene... oh baby, look a baby... imprint.. I love you, I control my vampire powers now, cause I'm a fucking Mary Sue... fin'

So... I just got done watching New Moon... The first movie was okay. But, all throughout New Moon I just felt bad for Jacob. Seemed like she was stringing him along--which sucks. Jane seems to be quite the bad ass, though. C:

Also, do they not have cell phones? :hmmm:

In my opinion, the Twilight Saga is beyond over-hyped. Never read the books and don't plan on it. However, I have seen the three movies already released. The original was okay, at best. New Moon sucked major nuts. Eclipse, actually, was pretty good thanks to the lack of emotion and maximizing of action.

I saw New Moon a while ago and it was much better than Twilight in my opinion.

I will still never go out of my way to see them at the movies, simply because I refuse to me mistaken for a fangirl. >.<

I'm not that into the series, but I don't mind watching the movies.

I think Eclipse has come out here already. Not sure as I didn't really look out for it lol. I'll be sure to pick up a copy at the video store though as it does look like it will be the most action packed out of the three.
