Uncharted III is officially called Uncharted III Drake's Deception and it brings Drake to the Desert. A teaser trailer was shown and the game will officially be revealed at the Spike video game awards on the 11th of December.

It is officially real and this just made my day today. Now I can just imagine what the story will be like and I really hope Elena Fisher returns. Right now I see Sully and Drake as the protagonists. So yep really excited! :awesome:

I bet if this game can top Uncharted II it will truly be one of the best in the world. Uncharted II was just so awesome! This one will only get better! The graphics look so real too. So A release date in 2011. I am buying this as soon as it comes out :ryan:

Uncharted 3 to be playable in “high-resolution stereoscopic 3D”

Naughty Dog has posted over on the US PS Blog not only the teaser for Uncharted 3 you saw on EW’s site and through our earlier post, but the news that the game will be playable in “high-resolution stereoscopic 3D”.

According to the firm’s community strategist Arne Meyer, Drake’s new adventure contains a storyline which will “take you all over the world”.
In Drake’s Deception, our hero will be searching for the “Atlantis of the Sands”, with Sully rumored to be in the “heart of the Arabian Desert. But when terrible secrets of this lost city are uncovered, their journey becomes a desperate bid for survival that will force Drake to confront his deepest fears.”
“Throughout Uncharted 3, you’ll be taken to spectacular new locations around the globe,that will showcase all of the work we’ve taken on to take acclaimed physics, particle and visual effects to a new level, said Meyer.
“Competitive and co-op multiplayer will return as a key ingredient to the Uncharted 3 package, where all of the new features we have planned will combine with our signature single-player cinematic gameplay to create a unique action-adventure multiplayer experience that can only be found in the Uncharted universe.”
Here’s a list of features from the press release:

  • Bigger set pieces and more explosive adventure, driven by Naughty Dog’s signature storytelling and cinematic presentation.
  • Competitive and co-op multiplayer return with brand new experiences and massively expanded feature sets. The UNCHARTED universe provides online players with a unique Action Adventure multiplayer experience, bringing the cinematic elements of the single-player campaign into multiplayer.
  • Nathan Drake can now take on opponents in more ways than before: hand-to-hand combat with multiple opponents, contextual melee attacks, and new stealth options. UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception also features expanded and diverse traversal moves with deep gunplay.
  • Naughty Dog introduces new physics, visuals, and environmental effects. UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception features new innovations in sand, fire, smoke, and water dynamics and effects. UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception will be playable in Stereoscopic 3D.
More information on the game is expected to be released in the December 17 issue of Entertainment Weekly along with the official world premiere at the VGAs on Saturday evening.
Uncharted 3 is confirmed for a 2011 release.

Sony’s released out three new pieces of art of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.
Amazon’s also gone and posted up the boxart for the game.
All of the art is below. Thanks to GAF and Erren for the boxart.
Uncharted 3, announced earlier today, releases next year for PS3, and will support 3D.

Uhm i think the uncharted series is fantastic so itl no doubt be a buy from me but itl be more than a year away from release id imagine, probadly 2012 so im not marking my calendar just yet
 
I'm not going to watch the trailer, purely because I've not played through the second game yet. But the pictures look fantastic and with the title called Drake's Deception, something tells me this could be the best in the series yet. Looking forward to it!
 
Lew it will probably release towards the end of 2011. I am not waiting for 2012 for this game :mokken: Also Ami it is just a really short phrase by Nathan Drake. It really is nothing that causes spoilers xD. I can not wait to see who will be the new bad guy. Zoran was one tough bastard. UC II had a much better villian than UC I in my opinion. I hope this guy is even more twisted and a big bastard. Still I want to see Elena. Probably at the world premiere.
 
Elena must be in it. If she isn't then they'll likely reference her at least. I think it would be a bit too odd to have a game without any mention of her at all now.

I'm really glad that Sully is already announced as being a part of the plot. I have a feeling that he won't be seen for much of it again, but at least he's a part of it, and probably has a larger role than he did in UC2.

As for villains... I do agree that Zoran was the best of the main villains, though the main villain

at the end of UC1 was
meant to be a surprise, and that is probably why he wasn't given as much development as Roman
or Eddy Raja.

I've said it many times in other threads about how I'm expecting that the Rajas may make an appearance. Rika Raja was introduced as a character in the comics who may be either an anti-hero or a villain in a future game. Perhaps this is where she'll come in again, if they decide to work her into it at all.


Anyway - nice find. That's good news. The trailer doesn't show anything significant (the pictures show more!), but it is good to finally know for sure that this game is in production. I'm also looking forward to the changes to multiplayer. Thanks for the links. :monster:
 
Well the trailer is only teasing the real trailer that will be shown on the 11th of December. Of course the pictures mean more now xD. Oh and yeah Rika Raja needs to be in it. Maybe she could be the new girl but I wouldnt say she would exactly follow Drake like Chloe or Elena did. Rika Raja on UC II multiplayer was on the heroes side and that is what I didnt really understand. As for UC III I bet the multiplayer will be bigger than ever. Hopefully some Female Villians will make it through. Like we didnt even get ONE in UC so far... Rika should have been a villian but I guess only one female villian wouldnt balance it so they just let her on the heroes side :hmmm: Either that or its a hint that she will backstab Drake... As for Eddy I really think he could be somewhere other than the multiplayer... All those details above are great! The Multiplayer will truly be win xD I wonder if Chloe will return :hmmm:. As for Sully, Argie if he doesnt have a big role you caan always use him in multiplayer again xD. You have a feeling he wont be seen much? Well I sorta think he will have a bigger role than UC II but we will have to find out!
 
It might just have been how I read what Ohri added about Sully. It suggested to me that Sully would be out there, Drake would join him or something, or search for him and the 'Atlantis of the Sands' at the same time. It suggested to me that they'd probably get separated. However, it could also be read as meaning that Drake and Sully go together to find this place. I'm not sure.

I think that it would be great if Eddy could return. It's not been 100% confirmed that he
is dead
, I believe. It would be good to see him in a flashback if nothing else. If Rika does indeed appear then he'll at least be referenced, and what happened between Drake and Eddy in UC1 would likely stir something between Rika and Drake.

EDIT - I didn't read the article you'd posted all the way through. I have now, so it's all clearer.

I loved the first Drake game and the second one was even better. I'm just so pumped that it's been revealed :awesome: The title is very interesting and from what Ohri-Jin posted, I think this game ought to be an amazing one. The picture does look great though. I'm so excited for the game :3
 
Ah finally! I guess we'll all be reuniting sometime next year for the co-ops, eh? It's been awhile since we've all last played a game together. I wonder if it's early next year or what. :hmmm:

As for Elena, she's the one I'm really looking forward to. I thought she made UC2 quite interesting. I used to have a dislike towards Chloe, but I learned to grow fond of her eventually.

I have to admit though...typically the desert setting tends to turn me off. I don't know what it is about deserts that I find dull and boring to the point that I get sick in the stomach and I end up quitting the game (RDR, anyone?), but I have a feeling that set in an Uncharted 3 game, it's going to be fantastic.

Seriously, this is too much for me to handle right now. I need to not look at the pictures or get myself too excited because I'm about ready to have a heart attack. xD I am looking forward to getting my hands on this baby, however--no doubt about that. 2011 cannot come soon enough!

It seems as if we'll be going all over the place in this game, rather than sticking to just the Arabian deserts.

Deserts can be boring if you wish to view it as desolate and barren. If you want to imagine it as being the location of a lost and mighty civilisation then it makes the sands much more interesting.

I almost shitted my pants when I read this, I've been waiting for this for so long! I'm obsessed with this game xD
I wonder how the story will be, who will return, who will be the villain, what areas can we visit, what new weapons, and the music! The music has always been so awesome.

Uncharted 3 gets first public demo next Monday on Fallon

Uncharted 3’s first public demo will be shown next Monday on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, it’s been confirmed in the US overnight.

The presenter confirmed it on Twitter:
Attn Gamers: the first live demo of Uncharted 3 on Mon, Dec. 13th here at Late Night. Set your DVRs.

Fallon’s had an almighty blowout this year as far as gaming goes. He’s presented Donkey Kong, 3DS, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit and Killzone 3 on his show.
It’s also where Cliff Bleszinski announced Gears of War 3 back in April.
Uncharted 3 was announced yesterday for a late 2011 release, with 3D support also confirmed. First render art is here.

Eh, I think I'll have to wait for reviews and gameplay footage. I played UC2 and I thought the story and gameplay dragged out and got very repeptitive towards the end of the single payer campaign. I wasn't a massive fun of the multiplayer either.

Possibly just going buy it used a while after it's been or rent it. :sad:

I still have a few games I've bought and not played AT ALL, and since right now I'm playing nothing apart from CoD, I don't really need any more games :wacky:

Hmmm, we'll see. Depends on when the release date is.

That's certainly very informative. Thanks for posting that.

I'd guessed that it may be focusing on T.E Lawrence but I was rushed when I watched the trailer and didn't notice the book or evidence on the table until that explained it all.

It's shaping up to be really good, and with a lot behind it. There's quite a lot of stories and people connected to Iram of the Pillars, so there is plenty of material to draw from.


EDIT - The circling of Indonesia could be good news for Raja fans. Perhaps Drake will compete with them? That's assuming they are a big and powerful family, and we meet Papa Raja or something. :wacky:
