[V5] What are you currently listening to?

The National - Slipping Husband

My dearest pal Hal introduced me to this band a while back, and I thought they were utter shit. Then I listened to them more recently and am slowly falling in love. This song personifies their work. Or at least the work I have heard from them, they write emotional songs about things that happen to everyone. They aren't mired in the fallacy that, "I can't create art because nothing terrible has happened me in life". This particular tune is about a father lamenting everything he could have been, and ignoring everything he has

Afterglow - Eyeshine

A sweet song that really shows how far Eyeshine has come from their debut EP back in 2004. A song that has not confusing double meaning, but moreso a direct approach to the meaning and the song in general is an acoustic song, so I sway to love it more. :lew:

Calvin Harris- Feel so Close

I've really been getting into Calvin Harris' music lately. He's gotten so popular in the last couple of months...especially because of that song with Rihanna which I also love. I love the lyrics and feel of this song I guess...the beat isn't very dancey but I like it. Its sort of a feel good song.

Fireworks - You Me At Six

I must admit, the original reason I got into this band was Kira(Six). But the more I liked them, the more I wanted to listen, and then I found this song, and I've came to adore it. Sure, it's one of those generic pop-punk sounding songs, but I like it. The lyrics are clever, but still staying true to the pop-punk/emo stereotype. Plus, this song is a tearjerker for me, so that's another reason why I like it.

This is embarassing but I'm listening to "As Long As You Love Me" By the Backstreet Boys. I've been listening to a lot of music from my preteen early teen years lately.

Volbeat - 7 Shots

Think Elvis Presley if he arose from the dead and started playing Metal. Thats the vibe I get from Volbeat. Awesome band. :mokken:

Rebellion

Rebellion-MacBeth~~Shakespears MacBeth A Tragedy In Steel

Really good album. Pretty much what the title says(Shakespears Macbeth Epic-Metal style!) Enjoy!

M4 Part 2(Faunt) - Jack Wall and Sam Hulick

I've been playing Mass Effect 1 this week, and from that rose my interest to listen to the soundtrack again, and damn love the entire thing, but the end credits song is just great. Combines two of my favorite genres - rock and progressive. Just love the arrangement of everything. :ryan:

Volbeat - 7 Shots

Think Elvis Presley if he arose from the dead and started playing Metal. Thats the vibe I get from Volbeat. Awesome band. :mokken:

They are indeed an awesome band. :ryan: The Mirror and The Ripper got me hooked to them. :lew:

Say My Name - Within Temptation

One of the better WT songs, in my opinion - I prefer their post-The Heart of Everything albums, before Sharon changed her vocal style, and I think softer, slower songs suit her voice much better than louder, faster ones. I can still remember how awestruck I was when I first this...although it's disturbing how many bad AMVs there are on Youtube that use it...

Pumped Up Kicks - Foster The People

I really like the sound to this song. Sort of a psychedelic sound mixed with a bit of indie rock. The song in terms of lyrics is really dark. About a disturbed kid who goes back to this school and shooting up the place. It's just a relaxing song, but has a dark set of lyrics. Such a great combo. :ryan:

Gym Class Heroes: Stereo Hearts ft. Adam Levine

I love Adam Levine's voice, but I really don't like Adam Levine as a person. >.<

Anyway love this song!

Adam Levine's voice really makes this song awesome. <3 It gives it that little something more. The Gym Class Heroes on their own would sound very boring in this song in my opinion.

10/10

Mae - My Favorite Dream

I just got all their albums a month ago and I think their songs are underrated. They make amazing music. I've been listening to this song for two weeks straight now. :wacky: The melody is great and the lyrics are rich with metaphors and poetry.

Though, I found out the band split up recently. </3

Chris is just playing Dark Souls and is battling the giant wolf so I'm listening to the rather serene yet tense piece of music that accompanies the battle! It's a beautiful arrangement, very atmospheric, powerful and tragic. :)

When I'm Gone - A Rocket To The Moon

I was just going through Spotify's radio stations, and the under "Emo" gave me this lovely band. Love their sound and I'm a big sucker for these type of songs. Cheesy, yes, but damn their equally good. :jay:

Snow Patrol - This Isn't Everything You Are

The first song in a long time after first listening to where I've gone "Fuck me, I love this song" I really like how the song relates to what almost everyone has gone through at some point, especially the lines "Is he worth all this, is it a simple yes? Cause if you have to think, it's fucked". Absolutely love this song right now.

Legion's Theme - Mass Effect 2 Soundtrack

My favorite theme for one of my favorite characters. This one has the right amount of robotic/spacy sounds to keep me happy. Just love it, and not much else can be said about that. :ryan:

Another One Bites The Dust - Queen

You know if you have queen on your music player, this among others HAS to be on it. I mean, this is probably one of their top-5, most popular songs. Great drum beat, and the energy from the song just gets into you and makes you
