[V5] What are you currently listening to?

What You Know by Two Door Cinema Club.
First track I've got of theirs... and I like it, and this kind of dancey indie style genre (or whatever) isn't normally my thing... but this is quite an addictive song. I catch myself singing along to the chorus a fair bit xD

The Children of Adelphia -

Love this song. such a solid track with great drums, and the riffs are fantastic. Some may dislike this song — their whole second album in general, but I love both; this song and the album. such a great song :ryan:

Reel Around the Fountain - The Smiths

A fantastic Smiths' song, but all their songs are great. They manage to create and evoke their own idea of Manchester as a miserable, gloomy place. Morrissey is also quite restrained in this song, not something he's known for being. What the song means is also interesting, I think in part it is about the loss of innocence, particularly sexual innocence, also I think it can be interpreted as a song about child abuse, given that the last song on the album is about the Moors murders, I don't think it's much of stretch to say that Reel around the Fountain is also about child abuse.

Savage Messiah - 'Plague of Conscience'

A fantastic blend of 'The Gathering', 'Painkiller' and 'Rust in Peace'-periods of Testament, Judas Priest and Megadeth respectively. Mixing in a few other influences with a their own distinct sound and modern production, giving us a modern Thrash band that is miles apart from the 'Retro-Thrash-revival' explosion thats been about for the past 10 years or so. Missed them in Southampton supporting Evile earlier this year so hopefully they come back and play a UK festival this summer (Bloodstock preferably).

One of the most chilled pieces of game music I've ever heard.

Also, OP is your Username a Maiden reference. Or am I just hoping to run into a Maiden fan ?

The Cure -- Burn

I guess this is sort of like.... old school Linkin Park? :ohshit: I wonder if the cure would be more insulted by that comparison or linkin park would be.. Heh.

I seem to remember some girls on youtube used this song for Sasuke amv's... but they all seem to be deleted now... lol

Promise This by Cheryl Cole. Cheesy pop song, I know, by someone that can't even sing brill in my opinion. I don't know, something about this song though... It's a real guilty pleasure of mine. The only song by her I do like, from her solo career anyway (A few Girls Aloud songs were okay)

"Supernaut" by Black Sabbath (best riff ever!), but it's almost over and Dissection's "Maha Kali" is next. :)

It's such a funny song. One of my friends told me about it, and I didn't believe her until I actually heard it myself x3

Plug in Baby by Muse. Re-discovered this song today; I didn't realise how much I missed it! Such a good tune; One of my favourite Muse songs of all time. ^_^

The Joy Formidable- Endtapes

This band is starting to really grow on me :gonk: I've been hearing this on the radio more and more and now I like this as much as A Heavy Abacus. I should really look and see what the rest of their album is like :hmmm:

Dirty Little Heart by Lostprophets.
I used to adore this song... It brings back so many memories from when I first got into it. The Betrayed wasn't their best... but this is probably my fave non-single track off of the album.

Silvia by Miike Snow :hmmm:

I've just been pulling a lot of catchy songs that have showed up on tv shows I watch, this being one of them. I like it :gasp:

Sesame Street - Elmo's Song

Last I saw my niece she had a small guitar toy that played this song.

It got stuck in my head. :ohshit: And its been stuck for a week or two..

It is a catchy tune... Maybe, someone'll listen to it and the infection will spread.

Foo Fighters - White Limo

Haven't exactly been a big fan of the Foo Fighters over the years but 'Wasting Light' is by far their best work since 'The Colour and the Shape', both in quality of songs and production. Just got the 180g double LP and the sound is fantastic.

Puscifer - Toma

:ahmed:

MJK hits home with me today. Loving this song, totally digging it. I am trying to pace myself with this album, so I don't listen to it too much.. but as you can tell .. conditions of my parole is my favorite album yet.

It's a damn poem in a song.. read these lyrics, BOSS! If this isn't telling scorn straight up, I don't know what is.

Stole my patience, stole my pride
Snatched the rhythm from my stride
Kicked my certainty up the middle
Knocked the wind out of my romantic side

Hopes and wishes set aflame
What's your purpose here, whatcha hope to gain?
Took my dignity, you took my dignity
Burned a lover so earned an enemy
Time to make it right, how it's gonna to be.
Watch you pay the toll right in front of me
Time to pay your due, time to set you straight
Take what you dish out, Toma away.

Foo Fighters - My Hero

This song reminds me a lot of an ex boyfriend and all the sh*t we went through as a couple. I looked up to him so so much, but he had serious issues with illegal stuff. I do miss him sometimes, but I realise there was no way him & I could of ever worked. The song itself is an old favourite of mine, and when I found it on the Foo's Greatest Hits on iTunes, I had to download it. Some Foo's stuff I'm not too keen on, but this song is good in my opinion.

Some folks don't remember about these fellas, but these dudes put out some positive rap.

Keeping positive in these fucked times, is what we're all trying to do.

Bone Thugs ~N~ Harmony - Shine

Until the Day I Die - Story of the Year

From the era of where Emo was totally mainstream(kinda still is but yeah). This song reminds me of an ex that tore my heart in two. It makes me proud of how far I've came. the vocals might not be the greatest, but they aren't the worst, and their good enough for me because my standards aren't that high. :lew:

Deftones - Change

The sheer emotion in Chino's voice when he made this song way back.. was priceless.

"I've watched you change
Into a fly
I looked away
You were on fire
I watched a change
In you
It's like you never
Had wings"
