[V5] What are you currently listening to?

The Killers - Human

I absolutely adore this song and it's my favourite from them. I love the whole theme to it. The frontman has such a good voice and the band are amazing. The chorus in particular grabs my attention immediately and makes me actually ask if we're human or dancer.

Led Zeppelin - Since I've been Loving You
Just a timeless, classic, slow rock song. Everytime I listen to it it's like Jimmy Page is making love to you--Okay, freaky way of describing it. But his guitar is so hypnotic in this song. It's truly amazing.

Coldplay - Viva La Vida

This made me think Coldplay could do more than the usual stuff. It's one of my favourites of theirs ever since it got released. The lyrics are quite effective as well. Chris Martin's voice is very unique and astounding.

Shout - Dizzee Rascal
Iffy lyrics, but a decent beat. I either really like Dizzee Rascal or really don't like him, and this song is right in the middle for me. In a couple of months I'll probably decide I don't like it because the World Cup is over.

S.E.X.- Lyfe Jennings FT Lala Brown

Great song like straight up. Lyfe has a... very unique voice I think-- very souful. Idunno, but he has a great voice. I also like the lyrics to this song. It's very touching and for the most part, true. Not every guy is like this way but, I can see where it comes from.

Lala has a very pretty voice as well. Too bad she died. I never knew her music that well but from what I heard she was a rising R&B singer before she passed away.

Very beauitful song IMO.

Bjork- "Hidden Place"

Bjork is unbelievably awesome :x3: This is one of her best IMO, there are lots of exciting things going on in it, and every time you listen to it you can hear something different. The unusual opening chords immediately suck you into the bizarre realm of the song, and the wall of choral voices in the background give it a nice ethereality :D Bjork has a rare talent for making what seems like dissonance at first into ravishing beauty--and, as far as I'm concerned, she can wear whatever the hell she wants in public too *glares at celebrity fashion critics* :mokken:

Enrique Iglesias - I Like It

It's a different kind of song for him, but it goes really well. I can tell he's singing some of his lyrics from another song, just can't think which one it is. His voice is a little bit different as well, but it's a very catchy song. I just hate Pitbull's bit. He's an annoying Brazilian git, who needs to stop ruining songs and stick to the production instead of rapping poorly.

Clean My Wounds - Corrosion of Conformity

One of the few songs that I've heard from this band but I like it alot. They're one of those bands I like but never took too much time to get into.

Lifehouse - Broken

This is truly an amazing song. I like how the frontman can use his voice to convey the emotion into it. It's slow to begin with, but eventually picks up and delivers a fantastic ending. I either love it as equally or more than You & Me. I love the soft sound it has and is very soothing.

The Cure - Underneath the Star (Renholder Remix)
Rating: 10/10

Classic by Mr. Smith, he's a most excellent singer even if he's getting up there in age, I like how renholder put more into this song, emotion wise.

Cheryl Cole - Fight For This Love

Still pretty much like this song, despite the fact it's gotten old by now. I'll admit that Cheryl isn't the best singer out there, but she can definitely hold her own in this song. The song seems to blend in well together with the different kinds of music you hear. The chorus is particularly catchy as well, even though it tends to be repetitive.

9/10

Don't Speak - No Doubt

I love the Tragic Kingdom album, and this is one of my favourites from it. Gwen has a great voice, and she sounds fantastic, very emotional song. It has a wonderful chorus, and the power behind it is great. It's really emotional and commercial at the same time, and it never sounds old :gasp:

Drake- Find Your Love

I'm surprised by this song actually-- it sounds completely different from his other songs that he does. It's more of... R&B style then rap which, is what I consider him to be under.

I think its a very beautiful song. The direction of it and the lyrics are amazing <3.

He does a very good job I think at dilvering this song, its a great one to listen to.

Every time I die - wanderlust

Just an awesome song. Southern rock infused, post-hardcore with some of the best lyrics in the genre. And the singer has such a great voice when he is singing and not "just" shouting ^^

If life is pointlees, then point taken say amen

love it, love it, love it!!

Dizzy - Jimmy Eat World

Jimmy Eat World is a great band... Even more so when you're having a bad week, it's like it's just making it bearable. Maybe that sounds a bit too extreme, but they just have an amazing band pieced together, the lyrics are absolutely amazing. You know when bands have good lyrics, but bands with great lyrics are rare to find. It's just easy to relate to their songs, and that's what always gets me up from being in a crappy mood.

I'm just sitting behind the computer having the Jimmy Eat World playlist on repeat.

You close your eyes and kiss your hand then you blow it.
But it isn't meant for me, and I notice
If the choice was ours alone,
Then why'd we both choose letting go?
Does it end like this?

Time never had a chance to heal your heart
Just a number always counting down to a new start
If you always knew the truth
Then the world would spin around you
Are you dizzy yet?

Respectfully, so honestly I'm calling out
Do you hear the conversation we talk about?
Back away to the safety of a quiet house
If there's half a chance in this moment
When your eyes meet mine, we show it off.

All talk and not a lot to think, we were living dreams
And shame never crept close to our naked feet
If there's something left to lose,
Then don't let me wear out my shoes
I'm still walking.

I tried, but it rang and rang, I called all night
On a payphone, remember those from another life?
If everything I meant to you,
You can lick and seal then fold in two
Then I've been so blind.

Oh, oh take it all back, take the first, the last and only.
Oh, oh take it all back, take it all back,
Everything you showed me.
Oh, oh this must be how it feels when the feeling goes

I told you as I hovered, I never felt this way
You said I have the shot that stops my clock
Baby it's OK
You said you'd never have regrets
Jesus, is there someone yet
Who got their wish; did you get yours, babe?

Avril Lavigne - When You're Gone

I truly love The Best Damn Thing. It's a mixed variety of heartbreak, fun songs and so on. This song is no exception. For me, this was the first time aside from My Happy Ending that she really put emotion into her voice. I really adore this song because it's so beautiful.

Dreams - Fleetwood Mac

Just the song I needed to listen to, it calms me down and makes me happy. I love how it feels so... smoky, and it has a delicious just-got-out-of-bed vocal. The lyrics are really meaningful to me now, and it's just one of those songs I can never get bored of.

The Calling - Wherever You Go

First heard this years ago, but never knew what it was called or who the band was. Initially thought it was Nickelback because it sorta sounded like the frontman. But I heard it again on Smallville and finally found out who it was. I'm surprised the video has Drew Fuller, who I recognise from Charmed. But on to the song, it's so emotional and makes me wanna cry. I can definitely sense the emotion in the frontman's voice, he's conveyed it very well.
