vBulletin 4.1.12 Feedback & Suggestions

My only real problem is that different font colours are more/less readable on the different skins, so someone using one skin would be able to read (eg) the white text on the black skin, but not on the white skin.

Otherwise, I actually like the change. Think I might be changing to the dark skin once it's made, but this white one is still refreshing :)

You can select a different style on the very bottom-left of the site. :)

I've added DarkSlateGrey theme. Just testing it for now.

Aside from the awkward purpeish text, DarkSlateGrey looks great :ohoho: I think just adding an FF banner and sub forum icons would help the current skins at this point.

I completely agree. This new skin is so good. Just need to choose a font colour now :)

I'm not sure if the test skins are staying though (including DarkSlateGrey) as we're looking to officially have an 'official' soon. Once LG purchases a skin, then we'll hold a competition for banners.

Edited the color and toned it down a bit.

Purchased/named Shoutbox font colours re-added. Hover over the colour to see the name =)

What about all the lovely pinks Tyler added a few weeks ago? :sad3:

I'm just wondering... will you guys have a white theme too? You know a white theme for those that prefer that and a dark theme for others? :hmmm: I don't even care if it's styled or personalized, I just enjoy reading from the white SO much more. (I'd use the default white layout like I am right now if you guys kept it :gonk: )

The problem with that is, as someone else stated previously, that it makes it impossible to maintain a set of colours that work on all skins. The best we can feasibly do is maintain skins within the "dark colours" or "light colours" spectrum (no bigger variations than the old two skins).

So... no on a light theme, okay--fine. :hmmm: But what about re-adding the pinks to the shoutbox? D:

Well, Tyler added them because there were many shades for other colors but only ONE pink shade and the pink that's there now isn't pink at all >_<

I have started to use this slate grey thingy, it's much better, I like it a lot, the only thing is (and this is true for all the skins) I find that the two tones in the shoutbox are really annoying, you know how one post gets a dark grey background, next post gets a light one or a white one, then the next one gets the grey again. Is there a way to remove that? I find it really distracting on the eyes.

Yeah, especially when some font colors look good on one tone but are hard to read on the other (red on the lighter gray). One solid color would probably work better.

There is, I just need to find the same tone for the other variable, which I'm having the most difficult time doing so. DarkSlateGrey still needs a few adjustment in some areas, but I'm going to do that later tonight.

I second this.

ok 2 things with this post...... it might just be the theme... but 1, my rep is showing twice.... and 2... why is their like 10 meters gap between the end of my post and my signature.... that must be annoying for people with smaller screens

also, can we change our defalut font colour like we did before??????? wondering if I could have my red back :wacky:

Apparently it's the old information being left in the postbit, which we'll fix later once LG purchases a skin.

I've no idea about the gap.. @DragonByte Tech

it seems that the postbits might the cause of the gaps to, as mine seems bigger as my postbits is showing my latest blog post?????

Yes, I agree. My laptop is ten inches wide and it looks TERRIBLE... AND it is very annoying. :sad3:

I would think so.... it pretty bad on mine and I got a 22 inch monitor on my desktop with a res of 1368X768

The gap is because the postbit length is what determines the length of the minimum post area. It looks especially bad on FFF because of the extremely long signatures a lot of people have - most forums have much smaller limits (300px total or so) for sig height to help with the scrolling. AFAIK it's not something that can be "fixed" but it IS something you get used to in time =)

arrrrr ok, what about the font color for our posts, can we set a default like we did before?????

I think DBT just fixed that. Major thanks.
