What is the best classic game ever?

It was released in 1999 so it's 8 years old, it's not exactly a recent game and the PS1 was still the big console at the time which is what the thread starter said so technically kind of counts.

I'm sorry if that made you sad that I did that but still a classic.

I was just playing Sonic on emulator. I wish I still had my sega... it broke and i had to give the games to my friend.
 
this is a hard choice for me, but if i have to decide it would have to be one of the following:

Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy VI
Phantasy star IV
Original Mario
Skies of Arcadia
Street Fighter II

You can buy Sonic Mega Collection Plus for the PS2 now my freind which has all the classic sonic games on from all the classic consoles.

Ah Jeez, I forgot it was as old as that, I had it in my head it was 2000/2001 it was released, my bad.
*sigh*....it really has been that long since a new Street Fighter surfaced....apart from Ex....

Including Street Fighter.....the original? Any from Street Fighter II onwards I can see but I'd struggle to imagine anyone loving the original Street Fighter.

I don't think that Capcom are interested in making new fighters in the near future, SNK sorta continue the games with the SNK Vs. Capcom games but they're crap. Miss having a good 2D fighter to play, never been a fan of most 3D fighters.
 
Chrono Trigger was amazing
Can't forget earthbound i loved that rpg
mario and zelda are always up there

Street Fighter
Lunar 1 and 2...although I haven't played 1 yet! I will though, soon enough. ^_^
