Whats the longest you've gone without sleep?

About a day and a half, and I do it every year when we go to Florida. We always get to the airport in the morning so I'd wake up any time before 8 o clock, and I won't sleep till we the next day in the evening even though we usually get to our hotel in the afternoon. Alas, I can't sleep on planes and when we arrive, we resist the urge to sleep to get our body clocks adjusted ASAP.

Any other time, it wouldn't happen, I can hardly go 18 hours without sleep, nowhere near 24 hours.

I actually only ever had my first all nighter this last week. They didn't get home till about 12 ish and I figured, 'okay, an hour and I'll go to bed'.. but an hour turned to two.. turned to three.. before I knew it, it was 6am. xD I figured I may as well stay up all night since I hafta be up around 10ish to go to town. And then they ended up passing out at about 7am, so I was left alone watching early morning Jerry Springer.

I just didn't want to stop talking to them. :ryan:

The longest I've ever gone without sleep was about 2.5 days give or take, surprisingly I was only about 7 at the time. Occasionally I get cases of insomnia where I just can't sleep at all and at that time it lasted for over 2 days. It sucked. Now I can't even stay up passed 24 hours even if I wanted to but I guess it's because I am older now.

The longest I've gone without sleep was a surreal 48 hours; near enough. It involved London, wrong tube's, wrong train's and insanity :gasp:

Longest 48 hours of my life.

I've stayed up for like three-four days straight once.
Love makes you do really weird things, lol. I was talking to friends and my bf and I survived on tons of caffeine and food. I ended up going into a bit of a caffeine withdrawal, losing my balance, and falling over trying to get out of bed, knocked out about 15 minutes after that on the fourth day. Fun. -_-

I think i stayed up for like 2 days straight playing Halo 3. NO LIFE! But once i finished i went straight to bed!!!

I think a day. Usually at parties and such going on all through the night. It's hard to get much sleep with people still partying in the background, and it's hard to sleep or get some rest on a sofa or on the floor. Without parties, think the longest I've stayed up was to 5am, because there was a huge bug dragonfly in the room and wasn't really keen to sleep while it was around zooming and being creepy. :jtc: I've always wanted to do a all-nigher, and just stay by the computer all night long, hrm I might do it tonight.:hmmm:

I think 27 hours or so is the longest I've stayed awake. More often than not, I can only stay awake for 18 hours at most before I need sleep, and just crash out. I've gone through a whole week on 3/4 hours of sleep or less a night, but 27 hours is the longest I've stayed awake for.

We did a 24 hour thing at school, where you had to stay awake for 24 hours; it was for charity, if I recall correctly. I stayed awake for the 24 hours, and was awake for about 3 hours before the 24 hours started. :lew:

Naturally (meaning by my own endurance) I can last 72 hours, at an extreme push, and I have all the usual sleep deprivation symptoms; hallucinations. Headaches. A general feeling of disorientation. But I can stay awake that long.

As for insomnia, I tend to get bouts often which keep me up for 24 hours, which I can manage quite well. But now and again there are ones that last for days. I usually end up confining myself to bed on the third day, keeping my eyes shut, and praying for deat- I mean sleep.

I'm the kinda person who thrives on naps. Stay up for 24 hours, have a 3 hour nap, and I'll be perfectly fine for 12-18 hours. Even now I've only slept 7 hours out of the last 48, and I feel rather refreshed. :wacky:

On the other hand, if I'm really bored, and there isn't anything to do- and I mean anything; even housework keeps me occupied- I become physically tired and wanna sleep due to the sheer boredom, and often succeed, even if I've just woken up.

On the other hand when I'm sick, I can sleep for 12-15 hours, no questions asked. Healthy? 24 hours and counting. Moderately bad cold? Out like a light.

About a day and a half when I did an all-nighter competition with Kirababes in the SB. I've done the odd all-nighter here and there before but I find it pretty pointless, there's no point in deliberately staying awake unless it's for a good reason. It's bad for health and I'd much rather just sleep anyway, it's so much nicer the next morning. :ryan:

The longest for me I would have to say would be the time I drove to Ohio and back, mind you I live in VA and had to drive to the northern part of Ohio. I drove 18+ hours because of the snow in WVA, had to drive slow, I was already hitting possibly my eighth or tenth wind or something when I finally got to sleep. I was up a total of 36 hours, and thats the longest I had been awake.

Funny thing was I didn't even want to go to sleep when I finally did lay down, my fiance made me though because of all the driving I had done but all I wanted to do was look at baby stuff XD lol.

I think the longest I would have lasted is a day.

I get cranky when I'm tired and don't like people keeping me up when I want to sleep.

I remember a few years ago I stayed at my mates with our boyfriends and we stayed up all night after having a few drinks, among other things. Then we had breakfast at 4am and then continued to stay up after that and drove home.

Wasn't the greatest. I need sleep or I just feel sick most of the time. >.<

I've managed to go without sleep for about a day and a half... I had intended to stay awake for longer but couldn't keep my eyes open. :wacky: I remember being with my mum in the car... My eyes kept closing and my head kept dropping... I was so tired. :lew:

I find I just can't function on little sleep. I feel depressed and ill and will often be very irritable. :( If someone keeps me awake when I'm tired...I have to try VERY hard not to bite their head off. :P

The longest I can go without sleep is 17 hours staying consisting of mostly staying in the study room studying for exams from 10 am to 3 am the next day.

I could choose to go without sleep for longer but I wouldn't risk getting scolded by my parents for not sleeping at all. :wacky:

I have gone 36 hours without sleep.

It was during the summer of 2009, and this was when I started to get into the habit of staying up all night. It's not a very good habit, I know this much; but I can't help it sometimes. It was on a friday and insomnia was hitting me hard, so I stayed up, but at 10pm the next day, I fell asleep on the couch and apparently I sleepwalked to my bed. I wasn't conscious of this, but there you go.

Anywhoo, that's the longest I've ever went without sleep. Now however, I can only go 12-18 hours before feeling the effects of sleepiness. :lew:

Somewhere around 55-60 hours-ish. I had three essays due in the same week. The writing of them wasn't too bad, because that's less than 6000 words. But the research is the annoying part, I needed 11 different sources for one, just reading 11 different books takes at least 24 hours. So I decided to do all the research for the essays over the weekend. I woke up at around 9 on Saturday and read until Monday morning, then I went to my lecture, came back, read some more, went to another lecture and went to sleep at around 7pm. I use lots of coffee, lots of cigarettes and lots of Red Bull whenever I have to go without sleep for hours. I quite often go without sleep for 36 hours when writing essays as I like to take my time, otherwise I would die of boredom.

A week and three days, happened a lot in the summer of my sophomore year in high school. It was over something stupid too, well a someone i mean. A girl of all things, it took me a long time to get my sleeping schedule back in order. What's really stupid is she didn't like me back like i thought she did, she was playing me the whole time. >_>

Once when i was trying to pass my finals I was awake for 18 hours but after 18 hours without sleep I was so hysterical and grumpy you guys have no idea. that was horrible.

Three days, and I ate more in those three days than I usually would in two weeks- lack of sleep makes me hungry

Makes sense I guess, we sleep to renew our energy, and as it wasn't happening I needed the energy from somewhere else. Mind you, at the end of day three I was throwing up something chronic, which was weird for me because since I tried to stop my bulimia, I rarely throw up

2 days

drifting while you're trying to shoot the bad guys in the head is when you know its time to get some sleep. some zoids game, tales of symphonia and Halo 2 on release... i think there was something else too, but I don't recall.

But I've only stayed up days for video games.

About 30 hours. Can't remember exactly why, but probably struggling to go sleep early and be like the majority of people.
