Oh, how this thread shall die. xD Anywho. I have a PS2 which I bought the day they came out - well, my Dad did, with my money. I have no idea how old I was. .. I just had like $400 stashed away somewhere. .__. it now sits on the floor in front of the tv stand, because I keep yanking the controllers back towards me so I have more space. It also magically covers itself in dust. .. huh. I'm yet to name it. o_o;

AND I'M NEVER REPLACING IT WITH A PS3.
mainly because I can't afford one.

OEN
TOO
FWEE
GOE.
:gasp:

xD

My PS2 is like......my originals grand child....the first one started out as the exes, bought around the day they came out, this one died after about a years of abuse, so the silver one came into our lives.....this one came about in place of a washing machine we desperately needed, but apparently not as much as a silver PS2 ¬.¬ (there's a 3rd one in there somewhere but I forget)

Then we moved into his mums for abit (I was up the duff)_until I thought fuck this *moves in with mum* he said why dont you take the PS2? No I said, I dont need it, my brother has one, just lemme take my FF's (rofl) Oh how I w ish I took the fucking thing now D:

So we split up, I get my house, am proper sensible buying everything I nned with the niggling -you dont have a ps twoooooooooo- in the back of my head, til one day I crumbled and bought a slim line, I trawlwed the shops for weeks, just looking longingly at them trying to find one for less than £100...until one day I realised this was never gunna happen xD

Little fucker has survived longer than those other 3 combined, the cat uses it as a perch and I stand on it al the time and Ellies stamped on it more than once I thnk the only games it ever plays is FF :wacky: its now sat gathering dust under my tv, but I wouldnt trade the little fucker fo the world, she's still going strong after 4 years. When she conks for good Im spraying her gold and mounting her on the wall

OH I KNOW! The first ps2 started dying when it stopped playing dvd'/s think we got a 2nd hand one after that which went the same way then the new silver one came along

And I wouldnt trade my ps2 for all the ps3's in the world...although I seen one in ashton for £200 ¬.¬ If only I had the money :wacky:

Playing DVDs on my PS2 is annoying. I'm like. HOW DO I PAUSE. :gasp:

I love mah PS2 as well. I like it when it's covered in dust and I wipe the PS2 logo, and then suddenly it's all shiney and gradient-y. :3

My first ps2 i got yonder back probadly a year after they came out, it got dropped abused and eventually ended up breaking >< i bought a new one, one of the slim line things and that lasted for aaaaaeges until.....it fucked. Well it never properly fucked but it would just turn off at random times, imagina playin ff10 for a few hours for your computer to turn off before you could save.
So i bought a ps3, which cant play ps2 games -__- ie no ff10 or 12 -__-
Iv had no problems with it except now it wont let me go online, somehow it wont find my IP address. Sigh i can see it exploding or something soon. =(

I remember Getting My Old PSX back in christmas 1997 I Got Tomb raider crash bandicoot and some other game i can not remember i think it was Ridge Racer actually
Later on i got FF7 And Spyro for it and Kula world :D

PS3 can't play PS2 games? .. wtf? x__o
thou shalt not abuse the PS2! D:
That's dependent on whether or not the PS3 model you buy has backwards compatibility! :awesome:
My stories aren't great, I don't even remember when I got my PS2, all I know is that it broke and couldn't read discs properly, so after a little Xbox360 sesh I got it replaced with a slimline PS2 which is now sat in a shoebox somewhere.

My 60GB PS3 I got for my birthday in 2007 since it was exactly a month after release :awesome:, from there I got Resistance for it and I've yet to have a problem with it and my game collection is awesome! :gasp:...as are my trophies. :ryan:

I got my PS2 for Christmas soon after it was first released. It lived a fairly peaceful life until my friend broke it in 2004 while playing DBZ Budokai 3. The PS2 fell on the floor because my friend pulled the controller too hard. So I needed to sticky tape the controller to the memory card in order for the controller to work. It still played games just fine though.

However, that changed in 2006 when another friend destroyed the controller port while playing Guitar Hero 2. My PS2 got so fucked up that it would reset whenever I plugged a controller into the first port. I bought my PS3 a few monthes later..

Thank christ I got the PS3 with backwards compatability :monster:

I got my ps2 when it first came out and dayum that thing is still working. It's covered in a buttload dust and one time I yanked at my controller and it fell on top of me. And it hurt like hell; my stomach had this fat bruise on it. But yeah... my ps2 is fat, old, won't play dvds anymore, and won't play certain games. When I get the money, I'm denitely gonna replace it with one of those smaller ps2's they have today or just go ahead and get me a ps3.

I got my PS1 in 1997 when I was 6. I was playing games in an arcade in London in Piccadilly Circus Called "Wonder Park" (It shut down a few years ago and is now a bar called Blues) As I was playing and earning tickets, I saw it...The PlayStation. It was a whopping 800,000 Tickets. For the whole month I did nothing but earn tickets. I found out that I could cut the tickets in half, and put them in the machine that would count them as one, So that doubled my tickets. When I ran out of money, I found other ways to play the games. One day I lucked out, and a security guard left his keys on one of the machines. I nabbed it and opened some of the machines and took the tickets and ran. At the end I was able to raise the tickets to 650,000ish tickets. But the woman at the prize table thought I was cute and let me have the PS1 with any game I choose. I picked Soul Edge, (But I thought it was time crisis) But it turned out to be a great game. She also Gave me a Yoshimitsu action figure and a Green Hwoarang Mug (Which Broke 6 years ago =( ). Later I won Crash bandicoot the game.

It was lovely.

My PS story is a familiar one to any other middle class white suburban child. I first got my PS when I was eight, it was Xmas eve, I woke up in the middle of the night and went to get a glass of water, returning to my room, I happened to observe a box shapped present wrapped up under the tree, and I knew it was a Play station. So I went to bed and woke up the next morning at 6 ( I was a ridiculous child) and played Gran Tourismo. I was terrible, but 8 year olds are generally shit drivers anyway.
I got my PS2 the week they came out, my dad did some work for some sony people, and they said you've got a kid right, he was like, sure. So they gave him a PS2, the first game I got for that was Ride Racers 5, which was a terrible game, and I hadn't improved much from GT. I loved my PS2 for many years but eventually I had to shoot him in the face with a bolt gun. This would be the case if I was some famous surrealist writer writing an autobiography. In reality it just slowly stopped working.
So from then on I played this really great MMORPG called RL. I was quite good at it and managed to level up about twice. Until one day my parents canme home from the city and I was presented with a slimline PS2. Thanks, I said and played that up until the end of last year. Then I got a PS3 and now I normally stick to killing people online in CoD4.

My first ps2 was year's ago. I remember getting it brand new, opening the box ahhh.. sweet . The console lasted me ages. Never broke but i gave it away to my lil nephew who wanted one.

Then "ofc" i found my old ff7 game which i lost for awhile but had no console to play on >.< So i bought yet ANOTHER ps2 just to play it again :P (Im crazy, i know)

Had a old computer with games on it, but it broke and was a rather heartbroken gal ;_;
But Dad promised to get a N64 and make up for the lost PC games. But the N64 was way too expensive, so Dad thought about getting a new PC and was looking in PC stores and hunting for new computers. But when was walking into a game store saw Crash Bandicoot 2 and decided to have a go, and even though kept on falling into the pits just LOVED It. It was only a few months away till Christmas, so Dad brought the PSone with a copy of the Crash game and Disney's Hercules =3 (.. err.. Yay !..)

The PS2. REALLY wanted Final Fantasy X, so just had to buy a PS2 for FF X you know ?
Got FF X and the PS2 in June 2004ish ? And just loved it. Though it was hard to say goodbye to the PSone, so didn't really start playing the PS2 until about July..

The PC Computer is still damaged, so glad Sony created the PlayStation..

Uh. Why is the thread suddenly back in PlayStation.. ?
YOU GAVE IT AWAY?
Shame. Shame on you D:
It has always been in Playstation as as far as I can tell.

And just a small reminder to everyone that their posts should be on topic and do contribute to the thread. Thanks:monster:

Whoo, what a lovely topic. I've had like 3 Ps2s. All of which are now, out of comission. Spilled tea in two of em, and they eye broke on the other one. But i figured out that if i put something heavy on one of the ones i spilled tea in, it will still read games.

My PS2 is my favorite console. I wanted to play FFX so I bought a new slim PS2 off eBay in April of 2007. It still works perfectly because I take excellent care of it. It's never suffered any accidents whatsoever and I dust it every week.

Wow, you treat it like a God. Lol, no offense. I do take care of my systems, its just meh family members don't care.

I recieved my first PS1 from my dad when he won it on radio station Key 103 back in 1997! I loved him for it and it was mine, didnt have to share it, cept with him. It golds fond memories of me and my dad playing Tomb Raider and Metal Gear Solid. Great times. Ive always loved the Playstation series mainly because I love its design and also the games it has offered. Like a wide range of RPGS for a start lol.

My gran then bought my PS2 back in 2002 and sadly it had to be replaced last year. Still have ti though, wont part with the bulky bugger lol. Im not so keen on the PS3, it looks like a George Foreman grill to be lol. Fingers crossed my PS2 slimline keeps going for few good year as it was second hand when I got it.
