When did you became a FF fan?

I first got into Final Fantasy when FFX came out. I watched my brother play FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX beforehand but never actually played the games myself. Then he brought FFX when it first came out and so I thought; "Yeah, why not play it?" I put it in my PS2 and didn't stop playing it until it was completed.
 
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest was my first turn-based RPG, I played it somewhere in 1994-1995. But I didn't become a fan of the series back then, it was just the stepping stone I used to get into the RPG genre. Before I played my first real Final Fantasy (Final Fantasy VI) I had played plenty of other RPGs, such as Terranigma, Secret of Mana and Lufia II. By the time I got Final Fantasy VII for the PSone I was too busy playing Legend of Legaia to pay Final Fantasy VII any noteworthy attention. I never cared that much I about the series. I enjoy the games and I have played most of them, but I'm not a real fan. I like series like Fire Emblem much more :)
 
I played Final Fantasy I when I was pretty darned young, and when Final Fantasy II came out for the SNES, I remember buying the game (even though I didn't own a SNES) and playing it over at the gaming store which had one set up.

From what it looks like though FFXII may be my last one. The more I hear about XIII, the more I don't like about it. Maybe some info will come along that will change my mind. I've been getting very anti FF post VI which was the last truely good game (barring Tactics, which is mighty), so XII is going to be my last attempt at staying a fan. The only reason I'm going to give that one a chance is that it is set in the same world of Tactics, and I hope to god that they do it justice rather than ruin it for me. We'll see after I play it though.
 
i became an FF fan at the age of around 11 years old after I watched people play FF7 . Loved the music and was impressed with the characters.
 
I became a fan when my brother bought me a copy of ffx along with kingdom hearts I wasn't a fan back then so I played with kh for a month until I was bored one afternoon and turned it on and I love it when I got to the part where yuna join us.

I played final fantasy 5 first but It didn't make me a huge fan
 
The minute my friend gave me FFVIII ... I was 12 at the time ... I could'nt stop playing it ... then my friend got FFX and X-2 ... Thats when I started likeing FF ...

i was 13 or 14 i think and i went to my friends and played final fantasy VIII i loved the game went out bought it that night and played till my eyes bled. Then nine came out and i was completley obsessed i went and bought ff origins chronicles and anthology because of nine. And when ten came out well when i played ten my favorite final fantasy i was hooked for life no going back. after i played through ten i went out and bought seven which i enjoyed but not as much as 8 nine and ten or even 1 3 4 or 6. but i gotta say ive never been dissapointed by any final fantasy game with the exception of tactics i didnt get very far maybe ill give it another shot soon.

my uncle got ffVII in 1997, so.....
i watched him play all the time, and he explained to me, so...
since i was 5 or 6!
OMG, i never realised that....!
 
The Great Chabumbah would not answer such a foolish question, but since you are all grovelling on your knees to Him, He shall oblige.
Chabumbah shares the same story as advent child, so he has been a fan since he was about three. he is ultimate and understood all!!!!
 
I did come FF fan when my cousin 5 years ago showd my brother FF 8. When my brother was in school i did play it little.
When my brother saw that when he did come back he maked me my save. I played FF 8 completely (not omega weapon >_< i did win Omega Weapon first time 1 year ago ^^)
My cousin let me play his FF 7 and that was truly a good game.

I was about seven when FF VII first came out, and just getting into video games. A friend of the family introduced me to it and Zelda around the same time. After that, I was utterly hooked.
 
When I was 8 or 9 years old I saw my cousin playing a FF game, I think VIII. This was close to my birthday and since I told him I liked that game, he showed me FF IX which I liked even more. He decided to give it to me as a present since he had finished it already. Today it is my favorite game.
 
I became a final fantasy fan in October 2004 when I bought 8 games{all were on special offer or second hand} I got kh1 and Final fantasy X and I didn't think much of ffx at first so I played kh1{I had no clue what were all the ff characters} after that I tried out ffx and I fell in love with it

I played ff4 + 5 + 6 before but they weren't good enough to make me a final fantasy fan.
 
I cannot remember when exactly I became an FF fan. But all I can remember is that I started playing Final Fantasy games when my cousin played it. I really love the battle system so I tried it and became addicted to it.
 
I got into it around only 2 years ago but i first played it like 8 years ago when i was 5. Ive played nearly every single one ever since.
 
I became a fan back with the original FF way back in 86 or 87. I use to watch my brothers as they played. One day my brother had to take a call so he passed the controller over to me with instructions "don't get me killed". Not only did I not get killed but I had a lot of fun in the process. I've been hooked ever since. :lol:
 
I started being a fan of the series after playing FFTA. I had heard of the series before then, but I had never known much about it. After playing FFTA, though, I was hooked.
