As for your question, I myself like both of them. IMO they both need love and affection and use violence and power as a way to shield themselves from hurt. Both can also be romantic, Seifers dream and where Squall is talking to Rinoa on the bridge on Disk 3 I think it was. I found it romantic lol. Also Rinoa is attracted to both of them, showing they are the same almost.

I pretty much just agree with Saphre here :monster:
I like them both aswel, I really love Seifers arrogance & he has a good look going on there. I'd probably say I like Squall more though, I like the whole strong silent type :wacky:

Seifer, indefinitely. The point of playing a game is because you want to be entertained. Squall can't deliver entertainment without his weapon. Unless you have a soft spot in your heart for angst.

Seifer, however actually can. Because he's a cocky bastard, and he likes to piss people off. :)

Seifer. He actually had a personality, and knew what he wanted out of life, and went for it. Squall was always the reluctant hero, and had to be forced into everything. H had no real dreams or aims, he just floated along. Seifer, on the other hand, though he wasn't the most studious student, and disobeyed authority at every turn...he had dreams and ambitions.

I really don't like either of them that much, but I just couldn't stand Squall. Apathetic jerks just aren't my type of characters. Though Seifer had the insult-skills of a 5 year old [Chicken Wuss!], I enjoyed his character more.

Though, I HATED him when he killed Odin. If ever a villain in any FF angered me the most, it was when Seifer cut down that bad ass GF. D=

I never got through much of the game but I always thought Siefer was more badass. Squall earned points when he showed up in KH 1 and 2 but so did Seifer in KH2.

Tough. Hmm, well I do like them both, but I find that I like Squall better than Seifer. Granted, Seifer IS entertaining. I'm not saying he was a comedian, but I always looked forward to Seifer's scenes because he has this aura about him that suggests he is a very intriguing character.

As for Squall, I did enjoy his moments where he seemed to be the loner type, one who doesn't give a damn about anything else. I think he's probably my ideal hero in any game - or rather, his characteristics. I don't know, I just love that about him.

I'd have to definately say Squall. Seifer was a total prick and ass hole all the time(unless he was talking to Rinoa). Squall was really laid back and had a peculiar mysteriousness about him.

Seifer was an asshole?

Quotes from the Game:
Squall: "Are you done yet...? I don't wanna talk about it. What am I supposed to say about other people's problems?"
Quistis: "I'm not asking you to say anything. I just want you listen."
Squall: "Then go talk to a wall."

Yep. Squall was a total, compassionate sweetheart. XD Seifer was an ass, too, but, so was Squall. Personally, I just prefer the jerk with a sense of humor and ambitions, as opposed to the apathetic loner.

Seifer's Hyperion gunblade looked cooler than Squall's Revolver. Just the way its designed and held, ya know.

Both Squall and Seifer are underwhelming heroes and villains to me. I guess I like Squall more because he looks cooler? Just like the hair.

Oh gawd, Squall of course. Seifer has his funny and awesome moments, but eventually he got so reliant on Edea/Ultimecia, it was just really annoying. Squall was consistently awesome throughout the game, and I lurved him. :inlove:

Lorddd, if I had been Quistis I would've socked that sucker right in the mouth. SOO rude. Bleh, she's too good for him anyway. As for who I liked best: Seifer. Yeah, he's a conceited bully, nasty. I generally prefer those types of characters. I suppose it's the: I love bad boys, they make me feel soo good vibe. Squall, I just couldn't get myself attached to. Couldn't then and can't now.

I preferred Squall by far. Seifer was an arrogant arse who thought he was worth more than everyone else. That does make him comical at times, but if I actually met him he'd piss me off a lot.

While I admit that Squall was moody without good reason, he was protecting himself from emotional harm. He didn't want to open his heart because he'd experienced so much loss in the past; it truly hurts to lose a loved one; someone you depend on. He had more of a reason for being the way he was.

Can everyone guess who I prefer? Seifer, obviously...

Squall was kind of a whiny kid in the beginning who did as ordered, and freaked out at wierd mometns, while only really having great moments when Seifer was involved... though, granted, he was badass while fighting... and ended up being a a well informed and massively weathered emo by the end.

Seifer was a total prick who aligned himself with who he thought was good and right, got in over his head, killed Odin, then noticed his friends where falling away from him and saw how determined the others were, began questioning himself, and ended up somewhat more light hearted and truly resepcting the people he had once fought against, smiling as Balamb Garden flies over head.

Really... in that game Seifer had the more impressive journey of life.

I actually might try to argue that Laguna was the best character, but I jsut don't like him as much as Seifer... though I'm sure I like him a bit more than his son, Squall.

I like Seifer much much more than Squall, simply because he wasn't boring. Squall just annoyed me throughout the game, and I never warmed to him.

I'd have to say Squall on this one. I've always admire the lonewolf, working to get as far as possible all on their own. Sure he was a bit of an ass sometimes, but he ended up becoming a great leader that people were more than willing to follow.
Seifer on the otherhand reminds me too much of real people I know. Sure they might be cool sometimes, but only a little at time. you eventually get sick of what they think to be witty comments.

Seipher dreamed the dream, but Squall lived it.

Squall hands down!! he could beat the living hell out of that orange haired bastard seifer and he keeps to himself. Sure he is an ass to most of the characters in the game, but he has a reason for it!

Back when he was a child, he was really close to a woman named Ellone whom he called his big sis. when she left, he became lonely and vowed never to get that close to anyone again because he thought it would only bring him pain and he didnt want to feel the pain of losing closest to him again, so thats why hes an asshole to everyone. Despite what i just mentioned, hes still the best and nothing can change that^^.

Well, I think that it's all circumstantial. As seen in the introduction, Seifer and Squall are fairly equal- Seifer only won the opening battle because he took training too far. However, it still seems as if Seifer wasn't quite as good.
As the game progressed, Squall continued recieving proper training from Balamb Garden, doing well as a SeeD. He also ended up fighting a lot of tough battles, traveling, etc. and generally being in situations that require him to only get better. Seifer, on the other hand, was with Edea, who wasn't out battling to her heart's content, but more-so laying low and keeping her ass safe.
Therefor, Squall wound up with more training and more possibilities. Now, I would say at this point that we saw that Seifer was beaten three or four times throughout the duration of the game, however each time Seifer is alone while Squall has two party members.
Now, by the end of the game, Squall is by far the better of the two, however by then the two aren't foes any more and it's a moot point.
At any point before that however, I'd say that Seifer was a stronger and better fighter (even if he couldn't really use his gunblade).

On personal taste, though, it's more-so neutral. Squall's PMS/PMDD like attitude really bugged me, however Seifer just didn't have the connection that Squall did. He never did anything to truly upset the player nor to make them like him. All villains need one of those two. For example, you know someone's a good actor when they're the antagonist in a movie and you hate their character. Clearly, they're getting the job done. I believe the same principle applies. Squall does well as a 'hero' role, whereas Seifer's most shining moment was killing Odin. As tragic and startling that scene was, it wouldn't even have happened if someone hadn't gotten Odin, so his best moment is optional.

Seifer reminds me too much of my brother: always having the right path laid out in front of him, but never taking it. Because of that, I never really liked him.

Squall, on the other hand, I did come to like. At first I thought he was a major pain in the butt, but after I found out about his past, I came to understand why he acted the way he did. I really liked him by the end of the game, and saw him as a good character to play.

Seifer killed Odin in one swift unseen action... What did squall do? Beat Odin with two other party members into submission during a boss fight... yeah...

Seifer was the better swordsman. ;)
