Would you like to see a remake/spinoff to this game?

A graphical face-lift I admit would be really nice. I would like to see a remake only if they don't change anything from the story and just make it look pretty. If they want they can make it for the DS I hear the FF III and FFIV are really good and polished but still keep that FF feel. So yeah make a remake please

I would love a remake for the DS.
Hey man, I know you're new and all to the site, but could ya try and put a little more effort into your posts. Expand on the question/topic instead of just replying with a short sentence.

Why do you want a DS remake? Did you play the original on any other console/handheld? Etc...

Also, welcome to the site! ;)

Hey bro, not to get to OT on the subject but I've been playing and collecting Final Fantasy games since I was 10 years old. FF2 was the first game I played in the Final Fantasy series back in 1993. I just bought the remake for the DS and I loved it. I also have the FF3 remake. I would love a remake of FF3/6 for the DS because I own one already and the graphical capabilities of that little machine are great.

Well they...have remade it, haven't they? It used to be on the Nintendo, then it was released on the playstation and I believe its on the GBA now too. My friend lended it to me on the playstation ages ago, but I've always wanted to play it again, so I'll probably get it on the GBA sometime soon. I like Nintendo, but the DS isn't really my thing. Plus having a PSP already, getting a DS as well would make me feel like a whore. XD

I hear they fixed some errors and little other things from the Playstation version, so I'd be looking forward to playing it on my poor little neglected SP, haha.

With the name that FFVI has made for itself amongst the gaming community it's hard to say or do anything whatsoever without being met with criticism and/or outright abuse. Personally I would really enjoy a proper remake of the game with a more in-depth storyline, voice overs, advanced Full-HD graphics and all that jazz, followed by a series of well-made spinoffs (and i cannot emphasize well-made enough, I think we all recall the compilation of FFVII series... again personal opinion some of you may have loved the series, nothing wrong with that) for any number of consoles in any number of genres. The parameters for a remake and/or spinoff series would be:
A) the remake remain faithful to the letter and that any additions be tasteful and allow for more character development and what have you. I'm not contrary to bonus content (minigames, extra dungeons, weaponry, abilities, etc...) so long as they remain such bonus i.e. that do not affect the story in any way.
B)The Spinoffs provide good backstories (if they're prequels) and good fanbase-approved continuations (if they're sequels). the genre of the game does not necessarily have to be RPG in the classical sense, I'd just like it to stick to an existing genre and not have it end up a Puzzle/RPG/FPS/RTS/Fighter or something like that (admittedly I like "Dissidia" though I'm not sure what category it fits into). What I don't want is that one of these spin-offs adds something absurd to the story and tries to mash it in through an impossible storyline.
This is what I think I'm not sure how many of you may agree with me.

A remake on ds or playstation 3 would be awesome!!! Or maybe even on the psp. Well if there is a remake one day I hope that there will be alot of Fmv sequences because I just love it when the graphics turn awesome!!! Well it was already remade on gba but I would like to see it on ps3 or psp. Ds is alright also.

DS remake FTW!

(repeats post made in FFV forum)

Played it on emu, loved it, then played again on GBA. DS remake is right for this game.

I like to see a DS remake of the game indeed :3 but instead of a game i would also like to see a anime spin of or ever ( like this ever happens ) a movie squeal like 7?

I'd only really like to see a faithful remake for DS or PS3, nothing else. FFVI wrapped up perfectly, it doesn't need a crappy sequel, or any spinoffs. It's a little gem of a game and I think it would be more damaging to make a sequel of spinoff to this game than it was for FFVII.

It really depends a good squeal can make the game better but a bad one can be ignored i never really hated or dislikes the spin off's or prequels of 7 the thing is SE were dragging it to much was a anime short and a phone spinn of game really nececairy ?

I'd love a PS3 remake or something, but a sequel... I don't know.

just a tad more effort in your postplease, perhaps explain why you'd like to see it remade and you're thoughts on a sequel, ta ^^

I wouldnt mind one, I see a lot of people saying that I would like it remade for the PS3. I really dont think it would work that well. The DS would work a lot better, mostly because of the success of FFIV on the DS. If they would make a remake it would most likely be for the DS.

I'm not sure I'd like to see a remake. The only way I would be okay with a remake is if they spent as much time on it as they do making a new game. Just a basic revamping or a half-baked recreation would be awful.

I don't get when people bring that aspect of the FFIII & FFIV DS remakes up...Their original sprites were at least twice as chibi. Easy...>_>

yeah but thats ok for 2-D graphics, one you get into 3-D you have to be not so chibi, it looks ridiculous in 3-D

A ds remake would be nice, and i felt this was the best game in the ff series.

The should little bit of extra thing to it though

As much as I'd love to see how good the story can look on the PS3/360 I think the gameplay might loose something of its charm on a console. A DS version would be good if they were to carry on in the style of IV

Okay, youngsters, here's some wisdom from a bitter old man:
1. A remake is always welcome, if done well
1a. A remake done well means that it is a faithful representation of the original that, if anything, improves upon it.
1b. Acceptable additions to the game could include: the fate of Banon, expansions on Shadow's and Locke's solo adventures, further backgrounds for certain late-stage characters (Gogo, Umaro, Mog, Strago, Gau, Setzer, etc.), a little more to do in the World of Ruin, a treasure hunter minigame, improved Draw skill for Relm (on the DS...I'm brilliant (but bitter)), optional missions for the Returners, a little more screen time for Leo (arguably one of the better characters in a game full of amazing characters (but his fate shouldn't change...that kinda ruins it.)), a little more focus on the evolution of Celes' character, some kind of reaction from Terra when she realizes who her father is, a little less "okay, you found me in the World of Ruin, so let's go beat up Kefka now. I guess. If I really have to. Cuz, y'know, I was just wasting time until you showed up. Kinda forgot about saving the world and all. Guess I oughtta get back to that, huh?", overhauled graphics and sound (but, by golly, keep the music ya whippersnappers!), and so on and so forth. I don't think the actual gameplay should change, but I think the story makes this game, so I'm open to debate that.
2. A prequel should focus on one or two characters, and NOT try to imitate the original in any form. This prequel could focus on: Leo, Shadow, Locke, Celes, Setzer, or Sabin, since these have fairly action-oriented backstories with plenty of room for exploration WITHOUT reinventing or reinterpreting the original game.
3. A sequel should focus on Shadow, and not try to heavily involve other characters, and should play more like an action/adventure game. Shadow is the one character (besides that freak Gogo, whom we all know is really Banon in disguise, amiright. (Not a question. I know I am.)) who has an ending that is truly open to interpretation and who hasn't really settled up with the past.
4. As much as a movie sounds like it could rock, it would truly surprise me if this story could be retold in such a briefened (yeah, I know I invented that word. Sue me.) format. Maybe a comic book.
5. I love this game. Still my favorite. If it gets ruined, you should have listened to me.

As I said in the FF7 Remake thread, I'd not mind a remake with new graphics provided that nothing else was changed. The remake of ff6 on the PSX was dire, it ran slowly, had unneeded extra FMV and was occasionally buggy. If they remade this game, it would have to be a 100% faithful reproduction of the SNES original
