That with Crisis Core-esque controls would indeed be quite a wicked game, as I don't think Sephiroth needs support from other characters to survive. At most he might have some weird Jenova powers - especially since you would essentially be playing as Jenova in Sephiroth's form during much of the timeline of FFVII's main game.I would very much like to play a whole game as Sephiroth and only him, (unless they can come up with some more evil twisted psycotic characters to join him) on a quest to destroy everything and everyone..
The more dark and evil the game could be, the better
I wouldn't mind any of those changes actually. Besides how terrible the AC movie was, at least the voice acting was good so they could re-hire that crew to do it maybe. ^^If they make it with updated graphics, they may change some elements of the gameplay and/or story. One of the main producers now finds faults in the game that he'd wish to rectify. He's said he'd rather not remake VII for this reason.
If they do remake VII, I wouldn't mind some changes to the gameplay, just to make the turn-based battle system a little slicker and more fast paced. I wouldn't wish for the XIII battle system though, despite having little problem with the Paradigms.
Story-wise, I'd rather they keep it as it is. However, I would welcome voice acting... The voice acting in XIII-2 was absolutely fantastic. It was lacking in X because of silly pauses, probably due to the technology then; the actors themselves were superb and perfectly suited to their characters. They were pretty good in XII too.

I would absolutely hate for the battle system to be changed in any way other than speeding it up actually. It's one of the core gameplay mechanics and I don't think it would need to be be meddled with at all. :xI agree. If the universe of VII is to be touched again I'd like to see a VII remake just because that damn teaser video got me ridiculously excited back during the ps3 launch and I'm still not over it
If it were to be remade I think the AC voice cast would be perfect too. In regards to the battle system I guess it could be made slightly more streamlined, but I'd definitely prefer it to be turn based or atb rather than the XII-XIII battle systems.

No, I do not and quite personally I think they should stop. I do not believe that they should keep doing this to such a wonderful even if it was a best seller. Final Fantasy 7 is wonderful game on its own but when you add too many sequels, prequels and interquels that completely screw up the already impressive plot, you kind of end up with a big mess that will alienate some fans of the game decades especially if they give us crappy controls and a story similar to what I can already see in most shonen manga. I had seen my fair share of shonen manga and that is where FF7 is headed well, I will not buy another game even if pleases FF7 fans who want to see Cloud and his entourage in thrilling 3D fighting Safer Sephiroth in 3D.
The franchise needs to be left alone and why not take more risks with more original FF games and/or spinoffs. We need other equally fun and groundbreaking game from Square Enix and leave FF7 in its place in history. I know they are company and the purpose of any business/organization is make profits but leave FF7 alone alright. We don't need another Genesis Rhapsodos who leads a whatever group in FF7 universe with stunning PS3 graphics and just create more FFs like you use to, man.
