I know it sounds weird but I never played FFVII. I just saw my friend do it and I know what the story is about. I saw AC about year ago :) I like AC Tifa better
 
my brother bought the game in 1998 or so.... we played it both on other saves... i loved it. inbetween ffvii and AC i've replayed it for about 7 times or so..
when i first saw the first trailer for AC i was almost crying, lol..

for about 3 years i checked adventchildren dot net every day

I have played FFVII first, and on the PC. I loved the game... Than I got to FFVIII and then I saw AC (which I didnt like as much). I havent played any other of the games, as I had no playstation until now, when I bought PS3 and I am playing FFXII...
 
FFVII was the first rpg I've played, and it still sits on my bookshelf. Dunno how many time I've played it through. After that, I've played pretty much every FF game through there is, and eagerly waiting Crisis Core... :P
 
Nothing beats the original...

My first encounter with FFVII was the game. It was way back when I hardly put much effort into games, so on my first playthrough I actually only got as far as trying to catch a chocobo after escaping from Midgar in Disc One.

Final Fantasy VII was my first Final Fantasy, so in that respect, I definitely cherish it. However, I don't totally worship it in the way that many fanboys do. *gag*

Frankly, I think much of the work in FFVII Compilation is gratuitous fan service, and often contradictory to the original spirit of the game. When talking about FFVII, I can truly only consider the game to be canon - the rest is only slightly more credible than good fanfiction.
 
I played the game first back on the PS. Played through it once and then moved on to something else. Years later I watched Advent Children but couldn't remember the game too well so I went back and played VII.

Maybe Kingdom Hearts should have been an option?
 
I got into Final Fantasy because of Mystic Quest. But the FF7 game was the one out of the polling options that made me want to get the sequels and prequels and other spin-offs of FF7.

Same. I beat FiFVII like 6 or 7 times before any of the other ones came out. (But that was in like 2000 so I didnt play it all the time).
 
Right into the game. It was back when none of the other games/films were even made yet. I believe it's the only way to get into FFVII is by actually playing the game fully through first anyway, and I'm glad that's how my gaming adventures went.
 
I played the game first. After I saw my cousin playing it I got the game quite quickly. It was and still is beautiful.
 
I loved final fantasy for awhile (i only had I & II) and i heard of FF7. i wanted it for my birthday but he game was in Japanese only so i got AC. then i found the pc version in English.

Everyone I talk to and show this game too, ends up loving it

i showed it to my friends and they claimed it was 'gay' because it was Japanese.
They also hate Anime, Manga.... so usually they would consider something japanese 'gay' which is pretty racist.

i've never played FF7, but after watching advent children, i'm wishing i did...personally, i'd play it just to get vincent ^^;

wow.....you never palyed it? I have played it so much that iv gone thru 5 copies of the game. First saw an aunties bf playing it when it was first released, he handed me the crol pad while he went to the loo or whatever and iv never looked back since!!!!!!

you REALLY need to invest in a copy. Get your rear end on ebay or summat....dont go buying one of those platinum versions tho......
 
i started ff series through a friend who recommeded 7 first bt i cud't find it so got 6! now i own a copy of them all except 11! n enjoy every1 of em. i think that 7 is the best followed by 10, 12, then 9
