Your time in the Fire Cavern

Wicca, I find it is 0-15 seconds, not 0-5 seconds as you say. If you want to do it in 10 minutes then battle speed should be maxed.

soz but im guestimating (made up word i know) i havnt looked at my guide in a while so couldnt remember, but i knew it had a 5 innit lol

any way like chicken wuss said, finish the cavern with 15 seconds or less and you get full marks for judgement

The first time I played I chose 40 minutes (and barely got out in time) and now I usually pick 20 or 30 mins, next I'll do 10 minutes and see if I can make it out.

I would always go with 40 mins just to be safe exept for once I picked 20 mins and I got out in time.

Il usually choose 10 mins. If u spend a little time outside learning boost for your GFs you can finish it with about 3mins left. Although i try and get it closer to 0 so i can get a better seed rank. First time i played the game i went with 40 all the way lol which is waaay to much time.

I usually do ten minutes cause if you do 30 or 40 or 20 it will affecy your seed rank. I spend 7 minutes in the cavern

I just started a new game, and I chose the 20 minute option when I got to the fire cavern. That's all I've even chosen, simply because I've always been afraid I'll run out of time with the 10 minute option and because the 30 and 40 minute options seemed way to easy. 20 is right in the middle.

It wasn't until my 3rd or 4th playthrough that I realised that the closer you get to the end of the timer the higher your SeEd rank is. I used to rock up with 10mins and finish him off with time spare - if only I had toyed with Ifrit a bit more! >_<

If you read through the thread, you will find that yes, people have

Also elaborate on your post please, what was your time in the cavern? Are you saying you have beat it in 10 or are you asking because you haven't?

I usually use the 10 minutes and I can usually beat Ifirt in one hit so I just fight him and wait til there are only 10 seconds left before summoning Shiva.

I always pick 20 minutes and usually finish it with one or two minutes remaining. I'm a lazy ass so I never really level up much before going into the Fire cavern. I do most of my leveling while I am actually inside. I run and steal alot of magic and then kill a few more things before finally making my way to Ifrit. Although I think in the next run through I will try it in the 10 min bracket, just to see if I can.

I usually choose 10 minutes, on my last playthrough which was in September i did my best time as of yet with 1.36 minutes remaining, i did not use Shiva as i don't really use GFs in battle and simply unleashed blizzard on Ifrit combined with a few limit breaks.

I choose 40 mins for the very very first time I play, I finish in 20 mins, but I never realize it'll affect the SeeD Exam.

So the next time I play I choose 10 mins, I died, but I try again, I finish with 10 secs left.

I've always done it on 10 mins cause with the right use of shiva it can be done in 5 minutes never knew it affected SeeD rank though

With shiva you can finish the entire mission in under 3 minutes, but that requires you to escape very often.

I always choose 10 minutes, and defeat Ifrit with 3:30+ left on the clock, which is no good for a high seed score. But it's the fastest I can manage without any effort (and without excaping).

Also, I don't start leveling until after getting Ragnarok, because without certain junction abilities, leveling is almost pointless (junctioning magic is much more effective), as is summoning Gfs, because they are too slow.

All you need to do is draw around 10 Blizzards per character from Glacial Eye, which will appear sooner or later in the Balamb area, and use those on Ifrit instead of Shiva. Or just use plain attacks ;)

The first time I chose like 20, and after that it's always been 10. I have no clue what my time is when I finish, but I know I always get all retarded and panicky doing it.

Yeah, I beat the whole thing in 6-8 Minutes, but the first time, I lost to the clock, almost defeating Ifrit at the time. I left scan alone for a bit of time, but I should have gone all out. I also scanned the monsters. If I played again, wouldn't be surprised if I can hit 5 Minutes, if I got SummMag+30% and Boost beforehand.
