Your time in the Fire Cavern

I always choose 10 minutes and its always enough. Waiting to give the final blow until your time is almost up so you get the most points.
Then I started playing the Japanese version. Now when you beat Ifrit in that. The time goes on. So I had like 10 sec left to run back to the entrance. Needles to say it wasn't enough and it was game over for me. Second time I knew this, so it was easier. I just beat the crap out of Ifrit and ran back. Then waited in front of the entrance for the time to pass by, you know to get best points. SO with 7 seconds left I step out. Only to find out even there time is still running. I run up to the guys standing there and time stops at 2 seconds left. I almost trew the controller at the tv. Darn Japs.

i was a cocky fucker at the time and chose 20 minutes first time...and escaped with 4 minutes or something

I'm pretty sure I chose 20 minutes on my first time. But that was a while ago now so I'm not completely positive on that.

i tried to run it in 10 mins but its not possible unless u are like lvl 100 b4 u go there because it takes at least 30 secs to 1 -2 mins for a fight at basic lvl.
i allways do it with a realistic time like 30 or 40 more likely 40 it give you chance to explore a little and get ready with magic;)

thats why you press the two little buttons called l2 and r2

I always set it to ten minutes and finish in the last seven seconds, for the most time. I always end up sitting there pointlessly, though, for a few minutes in the boss fight.

I picked 10 minutes, and had 4 seconds left. The least time you have left, the higher your SeeD rank score....so, I went for that. xD

I usually go for the 10 minute time, but I don't think I managed to get the extra points, since I managed to run out of time runs during the victory dance sequence at the end of the battle -__-

About...8 mins or less? I find a lot of my time is spend waiting for the clock to run down so I can get the perfect score, so 10 mins has been sufficient for all my playthroughs.

I went for 30 minutes the first time, but every attempt thereafter has been 10 minutes. I don't think anything over 20 minutes is plausible these days.

I think that sequence might have made more of an impact on the game if it were a little later in the game, and a little harder, to warrant the 30/40 minute options.

:D I always choose 40, just because I like to train really. It'ra rather cool, having extra time to train.

I either go with 10 or 30. 10 if I want to just get in, get out, and 30 if I wanna stick around and draw and train for a while.

10 minutes is really quite easy even if you haven't leveled up as long as you do a couple of things.

dont draw or or explore the fire cavern too much. proceed to ifrit asap.

when fighting Ifrit, dont cast quezacotl. have some one cast shiva and the other person attack; casting both GFs wastes too much time. its also preferable that Quistis is the one with Shiva, as Squall's higher str will be needed for his attacks.

anyway that should do it. :) you can level up/draw/explore after Ifrit is defeated, as the time limit goes away.

I put it on 20 minutes on my previous run, because I wanted to stock before I got to Ifrit. But it didn't really take to long, I could of done it in 10, as could everyone here, I just wanted to stock some spells.

10 minutes. Get Ifrit down to around 30 hp and wait until the clock hit 25 seconds before killing him. You get 100 for your judgment in seed report

i choose 10 minutes as i always level up before hand, and before i make the killing move i wait until there is 15-20 seconds left before attacking, because the points you get for your seed rank are based on how much time is left, 0-5 seconds = 100 for judgement, 5-20 = 80, and it goes so on and so forth

Wicca, I find it is 0-15 seconds, not 0-5 seconds as you say. If you want to do it in 10 minutes then battle speed should be maxed.

i usually do it in ten. I heard that the less time you have left over the better for your seed ranking. This is because you are asked to choose a time that is challenging for you. If you have loads of time left then it wasnt really a challange.
