I actually found some of the bosses rather annoying on IX, such as Beatrix with her "shock" attack with literally killed my party off ... also, i didn't get Quina in the marsh on the first disc and didn't even realise she could join your party in the first disc until i replayed the game and...
Admittedly, when i first played it i had no idea what the Junction system was so i never junctioned ANYTHING and managed to get to the beginning of Disc 4 before my characters (which had around 900hp x_x) couldn't defeat Adel ... then i gave up and replayed it years later and actually discovered...
I feel like VIII was my favourite story because i loved how each character is really unique and expresses different themes and emotions that each and every one of us can identify with, or at least thats how i see it.
I also like how deep the story is, it's like a book to me, you can skim past...
I actually rather enjoyed having only three characters, it gave the game a more personal feel to it, rather than drifting away into other characters (who usually end up being people i don't really care for =P) But that's just my opinion =] And i didn't hate X-2 either, i know it wasn't very...
I like IX's music because the music is composed in such a complexed and sophisicated manner, there is so much going on!
I also like X-2's piano pieces also! =]
