Yeah, I think when they say 'reach the quality of FFVII' they actually mean 'reach the sales of FFVII'. Which may never happen considering the popularity of RPGs then compared to now.

ff1-6 and ff10-current are completely different....i dont hope for overhaul. If you got to play nes ff3 then you mightve played ff6 because the real ff3 never released in japan and i have yet to find a fan translated version. Same with ff2 on nes, its actually ff4.
I fricken hate the spoonfed reasoning. Its been said for several things. But really, its basically saying "you want to be given what we had to interpret on our own that differs completely from every one elses in some way, and we are somehow treating it negatively". Also like i said spin offs, sequels, etc. Have been incredibly inconsistent with the others.
if ff8 and 9 had sequels that were inconsistent with the original design. I would ask a remake for those games too. If you dont see a big deal about graphics then dont make a big deal. Stop being such a purist.
SE cant posssibly asking sales. Quality =/= sales. Im pretty sure they want the same number of features ff7 had.

Actually i played a translated version of that game but i used a ps1 emulator for that one because it was a nes emulator for PS1 and its a good translation evrything went fine.
missing the point. Your too much of a purist. Ff7-ff9 are too much into the transition phase. Not completely 3D and not completely 2D. Both previous and later games had a defining and distinct style but ff7-ff9 dont...actually looking back, ff9 had a very clear style and so has ff8 in some ways.
I hate the purist view on this.
Why? It doesnt make sense. Im pretty sure they want to give the game the same "quality"

Ff7 series style was changed drastically during its course. So the series lacks consistency compared to other games with direct sequels. Thats why ff4 and ff4:the after years have similar graphics and then merged them together into ff4: the complete collection without the graphic updates of the nintendo DS remake. Ff3 has no sequel or spin off, so rereleasing previous remake is easier (And its the only remake that came out of japan)
Basically ff7 is the only game that is the most inconsistent between graphics and esign. The other is ff12 but ff12 revenant wings was the opposite where characters were downgraded in design. However since characters also appear in fftactics its more acceptable since its closer to tactics design.
Ff9 werent as realistic in design, but still had better graphics compared to ff7 and ff8. And ff8 had a more refined look aswell. However we cant say thats what ff7 aimed for too.

I know enough of Versus to make it my ultimate desire. The only thing that really matters is wether SE altered ANYTHING they promised and showed so far.
If they changed even the slightest shit I'll be upset. I would like to see what they have added not what they changed, cause SE is good at screwing up. There is a chance changes they make will be for the better like the moving portraits, but lol we'll see.

Theyre only good at screwing up new things not remakes. Until you see a remake thats screwed up, then you can talk how ff7 remake will suck. Also i dont really care if they change aspects, looking at it, changes will need to be made. You could even say improve. And if you dont like it, then play the original.

FF Versus is new so they could screw it up. Probablity 40% IMO. Just based on my own retarded opinions.

Oh ok then. Versus might be a hit or miss. Hard to say. Have my hopes but not too high and prepared for failure. But for ff7? They already have the basis because its already made. They can just remake those scenes. Yes a lot of man power but who says they need ff13 quality graphics? Probably just ff13-2 (yes ff13-2 had inferior graphics to ff13). Either way, we'll see....for me i see several things that could be incorporated with what they have now. For example:
FFtype-0 and dissidia012 both have a world map that can encounter monsters. (This was my biggest concern up until i saw type0 trailer)
Ff13 had monsters already on the field and even if you defeat them all, they can re-appear.
Etc. Etc. Basically ff7 can be made as closely to the original (for those who dont believe it can)

FF7 will be aimed to both fans and no fans of FF7, while previous FF remakes were aimed to old FF fans, this is the reason why SE will screwed it up seeing as they try to westernized most of their games.
FFXIII sounded good and all but at the end resulted a failure, Versus can suffer the same fate.
I hate Wada but his no FF7 remake untill a tittle tops it statement is the only move he has done that i can aprove.

No one disagrees with Wada...doesnt mean a remake will hurt. And if they do change it significantly, then i wont mind.~~~~
You said what I was going to say perfectly. They could please one side of the fandom and anger the other, or anger both by changing too much of the game.
But I doubt they will stick to this statement for long. Something tells me they will tease the FF7 fanbase again sometime down the road and then a bit after that, finally announce a remaster and or remake.
